Very tired, and the gold buggy looked like it had been used in a smash up derby. A bit disappointed overall.

• Laleh (7/5): Gorgeous view and stay great service, buggy was fantastic needs a revamp tho - I loved the pool and the location and views were fantastic So there were no pool lights at night, and bed could be changed it was so soft you swam in it. The toilet door also jammed and wouldn’t work. A-bit of super clean was needed too. I think for somewhere like Hamilton island you would expect about more excellence and squeaky clean and better pillows!

• Michael (8/5): Overall we did enjoy our stay and is a lovely location. - Location was very quiet. Loved the surrounding wildlife especially at nightfall. The studio we stayed in was lovely but does need updating. It looks tired and in need of a little attention. We were lucky enough that the studio came with a golf buggy for us to use whilst on our stay, however the buggy too seemed very old and was very very slow going up hills. I think I could walk faster!.

Was probably a nice property 10 years ago - The buggy made everything really accessible, it was a good size The place needs a good clean and a lot of attention.The property had not been cleaned in a long time. Lots of thick mould and thick dust on mirrors, doors etc. Lots of food, crumbs and dirt under most furniture. Filthy floors (walking barefoot inside the property when we arrived turned our feet blank). The cooking equipment was filthy with rotting food Lots of broken things like air con remotes, curtains falling off rails in 2 rooms, fly screen with large hole through it, router hanging off wall The “valet” was either rude or unhelpful Hardly any external lights in property communal areas are working including stairs, paths, pool so pitch black for coming back at night. Pool open until 10pm but pitch black trying to find it. Balcony lights so dim it’s not really possible to be on balcony at night or use bbq. Really really uncomfortable beds and sofas, old and sagging no support at all

• Xinyue (8/5): Great experience, fine accommodation and transportation - The facilities were excellent The property was not that clean so we have to do some housekeeping beforehand. The location was fine yet it was a bit far from the centre and the beach, it’s good that we have a buggy that can drive to anywhere on the island. Yet the buddy was quite an old version and the speed is way to slow in comparison to other buggies on island, especially when going up the hills.

• Assunta (8/5): We loved the location and size of this apartment. - Spacious one bedroom apartment with a huge bathroom and balcony. The fact they had a buggy, was a great bonus. Being a self contained apartment, it didn’t quite have all the pots, bowls and utensils needed. However, we did manage. Well maintained pool, but unfortunately there was no open space or lounge chairs within the pool area to lounge about.

Spa bath looked lovely but appears to have been out of order for quite some time Complained about only having 2 mugs and no cups so we had to wash them immediately after use. Asked for more and told some would be delivered but they never came. On Hamilton with family and could not offer them a cuppa if visiting. Need to fix Spa Bath in the bathroom. An Airfryer would be very handy.

• Holly (10/5): Amazing spacious apartments - Apartments are extremely spacious and very comfortable for longer stays with BBQ and full kitchen facilities. Great location close to the Marina and One Tree Hill and the complimentary buggy made it very easy to get around. Would definitely stay here again!

• Holly (10/5): Great option for a small family or couple looking for a value for money stay! Buggy is a bonus!! - We liked the location, it was far enough from the the main hubs to feel relaxing, but close enough to enjoy everything the island had to offer. The pool was awesome and it was cleaned daily. The gardens were also beautiful and maintained daily. The apartment and balcony was bigger then expected. Apartment could do with a deep clean, however bathroom and kitchen were nice and clean.

Having the buggy was the best thing. Cleanliness was satisfactory but could be better. Some of the cupboards have bits falling off them. Kitchen was ok.

• Janet (7/5): A great location with a gorgeous patio. - The location was excellent as it was just up the hill from the marina. The kitchen was well appointed and the patio was lovely. The staff was excellent and very helpful. It was a nice touch to be picked up and driven back to the airport. The space could have been cleaned better. The kitchen and bathroom were very clean, however the bedding on the sofa bed was not clean. Even though we didn't originally plan on using it, we felt it should have been clean in case we changed our minds which we did. The little golf cart seemed really weak compared to other ones we saw at the same property:) The BBQ looked hooked up to a gas line, but it didn't work.
• Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant - Like the pool, location, room was a comfortable size for the family, there were plenty of kitchen utensils and plates We were disappointed by some of the maintenance that the property requires eg: doors to balcony were very hard to open, the wardrobe sliders/doors were extremely hard to open which meant we couldn’t fully utilise them (and are children couldn’t open them), cupboards in kitchen wouldn’t close properly, some of the laminate was peeling off, wallpaper in the nook near the tv fell off the roof section one morning but could be stuck back on and the tiles on the vertical around the bath were loose in spots.

• Veronicagb (6/5): Good facilities, however not clean nor well maintained - not good value for money. - It was great to have access to various facilities within the apartment, such as dishwasher, washing machine, vacuum + bath and shower and a full size living area. The apartment was not well cleaned and definitely needs maintenance. The curtains especially were falling off and mouldy. All shutters were incredibly dusty too. Overall the apartment needs working on!
• Sunel (6/5): Relaxing, easy and comfortable - Everything was clean and looked after. The kitchen is well equiped and it's a good apartment for self catering. I would have liked a big pot to cook pasta in. They only supplied one big pan and two smaller pots. The buggy gave us trouble during our stay, but the agent did come out to help every time and even got us a hire buggy. They were very helpful. The BBQ on the verandah has seen better days and a Weber Baby Q or something similar would have been great.

• Corinne (5/5): Great location, mid range, reasonably priced accommodation - Good location, airport transfers and check in / out process was really efficient. This was my 3rd time visiting Hammo over the last 3 years and I love it and will definitely be back. We had a great stay at The Anchorage, my honest feedback below is based on apartments 2 & 10 specifically; They need a coffee / cheap pod machine. The apartments were very comfortable but they both needed a deep clean, apartment 10 had an unpainted patch of roof and a random door on top of the kitchen cabinets. I’m of the opinion that cleanliness is the most important part of accommodation, it doesn’t matter how old the property is - all the other little things mean nothing when you can visibly notice the cleanliness.

• Debra (9/5): Great location, great service, apartment was lovely and clean and had enormous fun in the buggy! - The location was central to everything, great spot! Having a buggy supplied was fantastic! Having a pool at the apartments was very convenient when you didn’t feel like venturing too far. We love to sleep in a king size bed, however the bed supplied was a small queen (or large double). The sheets on it were obviously for a king size, there was acres of them to tuck in!😂 Maybe a complimentary little carton of milk and a couple of teabags to get us started might have been a nice touch, but not essential. Really don’t have any serious complaints, would definitely stay there again!
• Gary (8/5): quiet, relaxing and enjoyable - quiet yet accessible to the marina, buggy was great. a little dated, needed cleaning and the balcony glass was really dirty.
• Brendan (3/5): underwhelming accommodation - big and spacious. would of been good back in 2000. old as hell, front door magnet ripping skirts off wall and causing loud bang every time you open the door. microwave didn’t work. gas cook top barley works, dirty and baked on damage and unwashed pots left behind. not enough supplies left for length of stay. water damage and possible mould in bedroom ceiling. floors not properly cleaned when we walked in. all noted with Icare. they brought new suppliers and another microwave but everything else was just old and barley working.

Balcony door didn’t lock, Aircon leaked all over tv, Towel rack fell off in middle of night, Toilet seat didn’t fit, kitchen Cupboard door broken, Curtains, lightbulb missing… the list goes on… kids found a bra under bed from previous guest… when enquired about a change of room told to go back to Booking.com. the island is maintained so brilliantly but the same cannot be said for our Anchorage apartment and no one seemed the care. don’t rely on your paying guests to do maintenance requests for you
• Deanna (7/5): Unit was comfortable and valet staff to and from airport very polite and helpful - The unit was spacious and clean but certainly needed some maintenance. Having the use of a buggy was very handy but being 5 of us and buggy only seats 4 we always had to do 2 trips. Unit needs maintenace. Door to balcony lock was broken so unable to lock door. Toilet seat in main bathroom would not stay up and towel rack was broken.

• Jessica (7/5): Good room for a family but need some improvements. - Buggy included in the price which was good, and they organised baby seats for us. Valet pick up to and from airport was great. The room was fairly spacious, with two good size bedrooms and two bathrooms. Location was pretty good given we had the buggies (couldn't walk anywhere). Pool at resort was great for little kids. The room was missing some basic items, the main one being working smoke alarms (we brought this to their attention and it is being rectified). A beautiful island bench but no stools. Minimal utensils etc but manageable. The cleanliness of the room was not great. The bedroom and bathroom were hygienically clean, no issues there. The loungeroom however was not. Lounges were unlclean, curtains had some mould, and cockroaches behind TV unit. Nothing had been moved prior to cleaning (under lounges/tv unit etc). This was brought to their attention.

• Andrew (3/5): We’ve been to Hamilton island many times before and this was our worst experience! - location and views unit 10 was poorly maintained with various things broken/rusted/bent or missing. only 2 mismatched wineglasses. spare blankets and upholstery not clean. broken flyscreen which lets birds into the unit. Not all these properties are managed by the same company. immaculate island serviced manages number 10. They don’t answer calls even in office hours. They have no arrangements for bag storage the day you fly out leaving guests sitting with their bags for hours, unlike other companies such as I-care who made some allowance for bags. Check who manages the unit before booking.

• Causer (5/5): Great place - We travelled from overseas to enjoy a week's break at the apartment on Hamilton Island with our friends from Brisbane. We found the apartment in a great location. It really did offer a lot for us as a group of 6 people for a few days. We really enjoyed the break. We were tired on our arrival after travelling from overseas, hence we did not asked the right questions about extra blankets if the weather changed or the WiFi or have the corrected contact number if needed. We arrived on Saturday 30th, as it was cool and we needed extra Blankets for our friends on the evening of 31st. None to be found in the apartment, the contact number we found via an email was unattended (over the weekend) and we needed to go to a main Hotel as we had no Wifi. Though we did make contact with someone, for the whole week we had no Wifi from the apartment. We had to go to a Hotel / bar to use Wifi. Not the End of the world, but we understood the apartment would have Wifi for us to close off work information as we had travelled from Europe, this was a big disappointment that did sour the first few days of our break. But we would go back to Hamilton Island again. A great place.
