Guest Reviews
- Mary (8/5): Very good -
- Kasiani (10/5): Unplug and regroup as a family - Excellent host and natural rural surroundings.
If you want to unplug and watch your kids do things that are not screen related then give this place a try. ...
- Barratt (9/5): Lovely, quiet stay in a rural aspect - Really clean and comfy. Well stocked. Great breakfast and happily met our dietary needs. Rob was friendly and helpful. We made good use of the dart board and games room. If I were being really fussy I'd say the tv could use a sound bar. It's not a complaint, just a suggestion.
- Michelle (4/5): I won't be back, neither will any family or friends. - The breakfast supplies were good... bacon, eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms and bread. The rainwater was lovely. Hot shower and towels. Location was quiet and peaceful. Doors did NOT lock, any of them. The only pan to cook in was a scratched, ruined teflon pan (do some research on teflon)! No butter, so forget trying to enjoy your toast. The beds, all of them were hard, my hips and back are still suffering. Very limited wifi, even very hard to text and make
calls. The soap in the bathroom is terrible, it's like chalk. Same goes for the tiny bottle of shampoo /conditioner, absolutely awful. The carport parking area is so tight, we dented our car twice on the iron park bench that is in the way of the carport. There's more but I'll stop now.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - House was clean ,bbq was great for Beckie and tea and the peace and quiet of the country life but close to town for trips out . Animals kangaroos birds goats sheep’s chooks ,sunsets. N/a
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Was lovely, Rob was super friendly. The kids loved feeding the goats, chickens and sheep, and loved the swimming pool (covered), snooker and ping pong tables, darts at the house, plus big trampoline and multiple outdoor play equipment. Were also accommodating of our dietary requirements in the breakfast provisions. And for the adults there's a distillery on-site with delicious gins and some food options when open. A wonderful base for exploring Victor Harbour or further afield! Can also camp here, highly recommend
- Sandy (10/5): Love, love, loved it! Go ahead and book! - Everything was amazing. Rob was so welcoming it felt like we had known him forever. He was great with the grandkids and the facilities were better than we expected. We have done a lot of farm stays in South Australia and this was possibly the best we’ve been to.
The house we stayed in was clean and fresh and everything we needed was supplied. The best thing was no internet so being unplugged was awesome. The grandkids played outside on the ample selection of play equipment and didn’t miss their screens at all.
I would highly recommend. There was nothing we could fault.
- Glenn (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well-equipped, homely and beautifully decorated accommodation - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was well-equipped, homely and beautifully decorated.
Rob and Tracey we most welcoming and generous.
We loved feeding the chickens, goats and sheep.
We hope to be able to return and spend more time at Breakaway Farmstay.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb - Friendly service & check-in. A great place to stay close to Victor Harbor, but far enough away to have some space to yourselves. -
- Samantha (9/5): We will be back! - It's a beautiful little place not far from town or beaches. Incredible breakfast items left for us with some chocolates and wine as well. Generous addition to our stay. No phone reception at all. We struggled! But it was also nice to switch off from the online world for a short time.
- Crystal (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful countryside, so peaceful.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): The best farm stay! - The host (Rob) was amazing with the kids and really made the stay so enjoyable.
The accommodation was great, feeding the animals enjoyable, toasting march mellows and just generally relaxing on such a nice part of the state.
The Gin distillery on the farm with pizzas really topped off a great stay. Leaving!
- Suzette (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (9/5): Very comfortable accommodation, great breakfast, good for young children - apartment was very spacious, comfortable lounge, great to have an oven in the kitchen. Breakfast was terrific. Our grand-daughter enjoyed feeding the animals. Really helpful to have a playground for her too.
- Patricia (10/5): Comfy Farmstay close to Victor harbour - House was very clean, kitchen facilities were good, lovely cooked breakfast provisions. Lucky to be able to use the pool, welcome addition. Lovely peaceful location when campers families aren't running around the house. Close to Victor harbour and Waitpinga beach for a beautiful sunset. Private BBQ facilities and outdoor eating area along with a dart board. Ducted heating and cooling available along with a lovely fireplace. Bowl of fruit also provided along with a welcome bottle of wine, thanks Rob Didn't like that people camping kept walking past the house, and by walking past I'm not referring to them walking close to the shed but literally on the footpath right at our front windows, kids did this often, yelling and screaming as they went past but I'd expect the adults to know better. I would suggest either providing another trampoline for those camping as that was a big reason they were near the house, or restricting campers from using it altogether and having it only available for B&B users. You pay a lot in comparison to those camping and peace is a big draw card for staying at the farm so having people yelling and walking past looking into the house isn't ideal. We have stayed before and this wasn't as much of an issue so unfortunately it was mainly just the groups around this time but it would be good to consider another option when people are paying $250 a night. Another side comment, beds are a bit too firm, I know bedding is a personal choice but our party of 4 found most of the beds too firm especially the one in main bedroom.
- Rick (8/5): The apartment was very clean and plenty of living space - The apartment was very clean and plenty of living space.
Great cooking / kitchen area.
Peacefull and quiet surrounding. BBQ area could have been cleaned and dusted off
- Dang (8/5): Lovely bnb within a well kept farm. - Rob the host was very friendly and was happy to show the kids the chickens and goats and involve them in feeding. Kids loved bouncing on the large trampoline. The bnb itself was larger than photos showed and was very clean and comfortable. Easy driving distance to Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional -
- Funda (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great place , very relaxing and have everything you need There was no internet or phone connection for optus, so we had to drive a few kilometres to reach anyone
- Anatoli (3/5): Poor -

- Brett (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast provisions are enough to feed a family of four well. Rob is a friendly host & the location is private & secluded yet close to all facilities of town. Our kids especially liked the pool on the warm days
