- Julie (6/5): The views from the main deck are amazing but for the price I expected a cleaner and more comfortable cabin. - The location and views are amazing. The cabin was not overly clean and there was visible mould in the wet room and on the curtains. There was no hairdryer in the room and the furniture was quite uncomfortable.

And had a lovely to the lady that owns the place. They couldn't to enough for us. Beautiful place. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple of nights there you won't regret it. It is amazing. Breakfast was excellent, the hosts were wonderful, and the amenities provided everything we needed. Lounge chair wasn’t comfy to relax on. 😊😘not a big deal though for an overnight stay.

- Caroline (10/5): - Our hosts Ian and Trish were exceptionally friendly, helpful and generous with their hospitality. The location is stunning, views to die for. The units are very modern and well equipped in forest with nature at your door. Breakfast was varied and delicious.
- Tiffany (10/5): - The hosts were very caring and kept checking on us to see if we were able to get to them due to localised flooding in the area (Dec 31 2025) They kept us updated with the road conditions. The view was spectacular, once the rain clouds disappeared. The huge window in the shower that overlooked Hinchinbrook was amazing and a lovely surprise. There wasn't anything that I didn't like, oh there actually was one teeny tiny thing, a cutting knife would be a great addition to the kitchen. We had nothing to chop up our dinner stuff with.

Hassel free as you can have a BBQ pack added to your booking for an additional cost. Saves time not taking food with you. Breakfast was great. Will definitely be back.

- Sharon (10/5): Breathtaking! - We had the most amazing stay at VH! The reality of this place and this view is not done justice by photos. It’s breathtaking. Our cabin was brand new and beautifully done with island views from the bed and the shower! It had everything we needed and more. Ian and Trish were wonderful hosts. So welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable. It was a real highlight of our trip to stay with them. They provided a great breakfast buffet and we took it out on the deck overlooking the island. We also took the bbq pack and had a barbie on the deck. We were so sad to leave and wish it had been longer. Nothing at all

Hier kann man einfach mal völlig entspannen und die natur genießen! Der Aufenthalt war ein Erlebnis. Das Besitzerpaar kümmert sich sehr persönlich, und ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. To be able to stay in the midst of the forest, with the sounds from the birds and the animals, being able to sit on our private veranda under the stars at night and the amazing views during delightful breakfasts- it was everything we could dream of and made memories we will always treasure. We were welcomed by very friendly host who quickly checked us in and gave us recommendations on what to do in the area. The views from the room are incredible and worth every dollar we have paid for it (much better view from the room than a nearby lookout i must say!). The room was comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. I was provided with a breakfast on the go to accomodate for an early morning hike i was doing, which was a lovely touch. Would love to stay here again! nothing

One of the best stays in FNQ for sure. Beautiful setting, incredible views, great hosts. Highly recommend a stay at Vista Hinchinbrook! That we didn't have time to stay longer :-) Nothing I can fault about our stay there.

Extremely well-appointed room with everything we needed for a few days of exploring and chilling. The owners were fantastic, friendly and helpful. The open plan room is very well-designed and very up-to-date. The sprawling view from the main room and the shower was magnificent. Breakfasts were wonderful and varied. Restaurants are a distance so we worked that into our planning and brought in food to enjoy with the view. There's no getting around the road noise from trucks on the not-too-distant freeway as they climb and then brake on the hill. It is so serene otherwise that it does jump out at first. We soon got used to it and shut the windows at night (there's an A/C).

Hospitality at its finest. Patricia was brilliant when we were faced with a minor crisis at home. Be aware, nearest restaurants are some distance away (15 -20 mins down the highway).

- Derek (9/5): A great place to unwind and explore an unspoilt area of northern Queensland. - It was in a good location for the area. The cabin was small but reasonably functional. Breakfast however was taken in the dining area of the lodge which had a great view of Hinchenbrook Island. If we stayed again we would opt for the cabin adjacent to the lodge as that had a great view over the Island too. We did take up the offer of the BBQ supplies for one night which we thought a very reasonable price, however make sure you are hungry for the supplies were very generous. Nothing really but one could hear the traffic on the highway at times though quiet at night.

- Katerina (10/5): Hidden gem - We stayed here for 1 night before the thorsborne trail hike on Hinchinbrook island. Having the option of transforming the sofa into 2 single beds in the kitchen area was perfect for us. The views were amazing from the main house - we watched the sunrise and sunset and it was great to see the Hinchinbrook island before we hiked it. The cabin is clean and fresh, having been recently renovated. Couldn’t have imaged nicer host couple - we got treated like a family :) having an option of take away breakfast was fantastic, and the freshly made coffees were just exactly what we needed to get us going at 6am :) thank you very much for your hospitality ! this is the best place to stop on the way from/ to Townsville and Cairns . We went out to dinner and it was a bit tricky to find a turn off in the dark on the way back - google gps was sending us to a wrong turn :( The signage is great but can’t see it in the dark :(

- Wayne (8/5): Very good - Amazing views over to Hinchinbrook Island from the restaurant area balcony. Probably the only accommodation in the area that has this view so it is worth it for that alone. The included breakfast was great too. Fresh croissants and espresso coffee plus good slecction of cereals and toast. Personable hosts that are ready to share the story of the place which is interesting.
