- Robin (10/5): A cozy home in the heart of lovely Cahuita - We loved our stay at Babilonia . Cahuita is a charming little town . Anett’s home provided everything we needed and we loved hanging out in the garden birding and relaxing . We would love to come and stay again .
- Brian (10/5): Relaxed, safe, scenic, and a convenient location. Thanks! - Great location within Cahuita, short walking distance to the beaches and National Forest. Anett’s home is on the property, too (owner). Don’t hesitate to ask, if you need something.
- Henry (10/5): Excellent - Great location All was excellent
Nichts
- Milena (3/5): A very disappointing experience - We did not stay in the house that was depicted on the photos. There are 2 houses for renting next to each other in the garden and the one we stayed in was in a very poor condition. Had we seen the actual pictures, we would not have chosen it. the key for the house was so old that it broke when trying to open the door.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (8/5): Our host was great and with a few tweaks, the unit would be great. - The host was great and the location was very convenient. Three things can be improved:
1) the single room had a pillow that was too thick. I would encourage having options since people have contrasting preferences. The were better in the double room.
2) Having a fan in both rooms would be nice. Currently the double room only has a wall mounted unit that is not adjustable.
3) We stayed over Friday night and there was a lot of loud music from a nearby restaurant. If you are a night owl, now problem. Come prepared with some white noise.
- Laetitia (9/5): Superb - Amazing comunication and welcoming
Very nice localisation nearby all restaurants, National Park and supermarket.
Authentic and charming place
Very clean and confortable bed The shower is really old and only have very hot water.
We didn't have chairs and table to seat on the very nice balcony, that's a pity
- Sarolta (10/5): Very well kept place close to beach and town centre. - Babilonia is in Cahuita, also very close to the beach, few minutes walk. The place was very quiet, between threes and bushes, we even had a sloth on the three next to our place. The place was very clean, and the garbage taken out daily, towels changed every other day. The owner also lives on the property, very helpful.
- Rachel (9/5): Beautiful apartments in the amazing town of cahuita - This is a beautifully architected and designed property located right in cahuita. The grounds are beautiful. We picked our own bananas one morning right from the yard! We also saw cool birds and agoutis. It’s a short walk to the national park and all the beaches and restaurants cahuita has to offer. Ann, the host, was extremely nice and helpful in suggesting activities and restaurants in the area. We stayed in a room with one queen bed and one twin bed. The twin bed room mattress sunk into the bed frame leaving for a pretty not great sleep. The other room, however, was perfect. We were only there 2 nights but Ann was nice enough that we believe she would have resolved this problem had we said something upon arrival.
- Edda (10/5): Highly recommendable accommodation in lovely garden with charming, most attentive hosts - The perfect place to stay in Cahuita. Anett already provided lots of valuable support during the planning stage of our trip and made organizing easy for us. It was a pleasure to stay in her well-equipped garden apartment, where she was highly attentive to her guests' needs and always ready to help. A big thank you to Anett and her husband for their hospitality and for making our stay in Cahuita so enjoyable (including listening to distant howler monkey sounds in the early morning)! We would return any time. Highly recommended.
- Iria (9/5): Wonderful cabin peaceful and comfortable - The location was wonderful, in the centre but with a garden to isolate yourself a little and relax. Near all facilities like coach station, restaurants, park...
The lady running it was very easygoing and helpful, it was a pleasure talking to her
It had all the amenities needed, we could have breakfast there, the shower was excellent and the rooms spacious enough.
A true delight! There is absolutely nothing i can think of
- Dana (8/5): Very good - The apartment had a nice kitchen, bathroom and garden. The parking on the premises was great! It would be nice to be able to have a table in the garden so you can eat outside.
- Louanne (9/5): Good value good location. - Good value, Great location. The owner was helpful with good suggestions. It's just a block from restaurants but in a quiet area, if you don't mind the roosters. Cahuita offers several good restaurants in a laid back area with the national park easily accessible. Smell of propane from the 2 burner cook stove and it made popping noise, but you only smell if when you open the cabinet where it is stored with pans.
- Gerhard (8/5): Very good -
- Anett (10/5): Exceptional - The main advantage is the location of the apartment. It is close to the bus stop, the restaurants and shops, and not far from the beach either.
We were lucky being mostly alone in that beautiful garden (thanks to the low season in August). The place is so special with the local flora and fauna that we loved every minute there.
The owner lives next to the apartments, and she is really caring. She cleans the flat every day and gives useful information about the possibilities.
The restaurants around the apartment are amazing: Cahuita's taste being the best.
You can clearly experience the 'pura vida' lifestyle there. We arrived by bus and Cahuita did not seem espexially attractive at first sight. But we realized the attraction of the 'low-key' appearance especially when it goes together with friendliness and creafivity.
You need to get used to the noise of the jungle at night and of some noisy religious activities in the neighborhood.
We had mosquitoes in the apartment but the fans and the electric raid kept them away.
- Tristan (10/5): Lovely place to stay in Cahuita - Lovely garden to enjoy with agoutis and birds running around.
- John (10/5): perfect little place for 2 people in Cahuita - Wonderful little apartment in a great location within Cahuita, a short walk to the national park. Clean and quiet. Anett is a friendly, attentive, and informative host, fluent in Spanish, English, and German. Well-stocked kitchenette with good-sized refrigerator. Pleasant garden with outdoor chairs. Excellent wifi. As long as you're prepared for life on the Caribbean coast--no air-conditioning, little bugs, can't drink the water, hearing howler monkeys in the distance--this is a great place to stay.
- Linda (9/5): A very comfortable stay in a safe place with an accommodating host. - I was here with my adult children. I liked the quiet of the location which was a 5 minute walk or less from the middle of town. It backed onto a forested area with monkeys and other wildlife which we liked. It was also a few steps away from a couple of restaurants, in addition to those in the centre of town. The apartment was nicely set up and ideal for three of us with two bedrooms, a sitting area and dining table and a well equipped kitchen as well as a balcony. It was relatively close to the start of the beaches although a longer walk to get to areas to swim (15-20 minutes). The host was helpful and available in a house a few steps away. We had some issues with wifi making it difficult to do some other travel bookings so we walked to a newly cafe. Easy fix. We did have half a day with no water and there were a few power outages in Cahuita but nothing that was specific to this accommodation or that was overly bothersome to us as regular travellers.
- Hilary (6/5): Nice place but no internet - The apartment was really spacious and well decorated in a lovely garden. The location was really good and pretty quiet. There was hot water in the shower. It was clean and the place was cleaned each day. I don't feel this place should be able to advertise having WiFi internet. In the 4 nights we were there it only worked occasionally and was very poor when it did. I was supposed to have two job interviews while there as I thought there was WiFi. The first was the morning after we arrived so I had to go to a local cafe and beg them to let me in before they opened to do it and the second I had to reschedule. The worst thing is the owner didn't seem to think that it not working was an issue.
We had two power cuts for about 3 hours each, which we understand happens but we would have appreciated more amenities like a flash light or multiple candles, as clearly these are a regular occurrence.
The beds weren't very comfortable and we had no running water for an hour until we told the owner and they turned it back on.
- Jamie (10/5): Looking forward to our next stay. - The property was extremely clean, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well equipped. Our host Annet was extremely helpful and accommodating. The location is central, but quiet. Nothing to say on the down-side.
- Martyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (9/5): Lovely apartment-style rental with kind hosts. - Spacious, clean, and centrally located 2nd room floor of one of the multiple apartment homes on the property of the hosts so if you need anything they are able to respond quickly. I stayed for 5 nights making it nice to have a comfortable bed, large closets to unpack my clothes, a mirror to check my outfits, full size fridge, stovetop, coffeemaker, and front and back balconies to have my coffee. I fell in love with the hosts’ cats who would visit me in the mornings. Such sweeties!! I loved the design of the wood framed, screened windows. I could leave open for fresh air but keep mosquitoes out. The shower was large with option for hot water but I preferred the cold since it was warmer weather. It also had a faucet below for your feet if you wanted to do a quick rince. Overall, I would highly recommend and return again when in Cahuita. Thanks Anett!
- Stephen (10/5): really enjoyed the vibe in Cahuita. - excellent location within walking distance of town centre but still nice and quiet. Management were very attentive and helpful. wildlife extremely close especially to rear balcony. Saw baby sloth hummingbirds a guru and heard howler quite close.
