Guest Reviews
- Francesco (10/5): -
- Christine (7/5): - Clean comfortable and good location Small room
No Foxtel or kayo to watch AFL on Saturday
No bar or lounge or breakfast area
- Joanne (8/5): - Clean and spacious and in a great location. The bedding was gorgeous, and the staff extremely pleasant and helpful. For what we paid it would be nice to get some decent toiletries. There was soap, but no body lotion or decent shampoos etc.
Most places that charge what Mollisons do give you a little bit more.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Cosy spot in a very central position - Warm and cosy with lovely linen. Very well positioned in the town. We arrived at night and there was no outdoor lighting near our rooms. We couldn’t read the room numbers and there were no keys left for one of our party. Getting on to the Main Street you needed a key and having only one set made it difficult for my husband and I to move around separately.
The room was very pretty but small.
- Jennifer (10/5): Comfortable and friendly so I would stay there again - Position on Main Street close to hotels snd cafes The door to back verandah didn’t lock from inside the unit. It could only be locked from outside
- Kerry-Anne (8/5): Lovely historic building central to town with cosy rooms. - Bed was lovely and cosy. Bathroom was also a very nice space. Location was central, so easy to base yourself to explore Kyneton. The warm welcome on arrival was really lovely too.! Mollisons is a beautiful building with ample parking and beautiful trees/garden out the back. Bedroom a little small, if you have luggage.
- Joanne (10/5): We had a great time at Mollisons. Such a beautiful building. We were greeted by lovley Louise who made sure we were well - Great location. Large apartment with everything you need. Large bedrooms with very comfortable king size beds. Nothing - it was great.
- Catherine (9/5): Highly recommend this gorgeous place - Lovely comfortable room in a beautiful historic building Nothing. But would choose a room away from the Main Street next time so we didn’t hear Saturday night shenanigans below
- kimberley (10/5): - Outstanding location and facilities. The rooms are exceptionally clean.
- Gabi (9/5): -
- Guest (9/5): -
- Julie (9/5): Very comfortable room with the highest ceilings I’ve ever seen! - The historic location and position in town in the middle of everything Would have liked a bigger room with a couch
- Phoebe (10/5): -
- David (8/5): Good ,different - but not Aldi ! - Good location in town . Our ground floor room was spațiosul and comfortable . Big verandah . A couple of doors to navigate to exit to street . Not a major issue but it is a bit of a walk in the dark before the sensor light activated .
- Fiona (7/5): -
- Penelope (9/5): - Great location in the heart of Kyneton and the accommodation was tastefully decorated, it was homely and the small touches made the difference to our stay.
- Sharon (10/5): - Sherry in crystal decanter on arrival a great little touch. Great location. Clean. Nicely furnished.
- Mell (8/5): Great property in a perfect location - Location is excellent and the apartment has kitchen facilities which is great. Huge bathroom and easy access to off street parking (once you find it!!) Sofa not overly comfortable, would have preferred proper milk vs uht. No heating in bathroom might be a problem in winter.
- Melissa (10/5): Perfect weekend stay - Beautiful accomodation in great for location easy walk to fabulous restaurant and shops. Beds very comfortable. The apartment has everything needed, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Staff so friendly and helpful. Nothing really negative to say. The only small this is that as on Main Street a little noise at closing time from the pub nearby , but not really an issue and very short amount of time.
- Danielle (7/5): The room was lovely and comfortable, but I probably wouldn’t book again on a weekend due to the noise. - The room was lovely - well presented and the bed was very comfortable. Being right next to the pub meant it was very noisy until 1am.
- Lora (8/5): Really was a lovely place so stay 🥰 - The apartment was beautiful, clean and lovely . Position perfect , the sheets were Devine No air conditioning, we were lucky we weren’t the up stairs apartment, apparently quite warm . No internet.
- Sarah (9/5): Beautiful, clean and incredible location - Beautiful, clean historical building. Loved the high ceilings and comfy beds Ceiling fans in the bedrooms or windows that opened in the bedrooms just to get some airflow
- graham (8/5): - Friendly greeting.
Overall pleasant experience. No aircon ( but must say location around extensive
wooded area kept it quote cool.
No room clean for two nigjt stay
No television ( understand due to damage from fires)but a bit disappointing when we couldn’t eatch the Australian open.
For top dollar country accomodation🏊♂️🍩🤞

The room & bed were very comfortable.
Hosts were easy to contact & responded promptly to our reqests
- Helen (10/5): -
- Darcy (9/5): - Team was very communicative, when there was a double booking they moved us to the nicer room with no extra cost. I was very happy with the space, perfectly positioned to be walking distance from everything. Clean, comfortable and that wonderful old building aesthetic. Nothing :)
- Michelle (9/5): Very comfortable beds great location lovely bright room.beautiful restored building lovely staff - Location and lovely old restored building Noise from band playing in pub next door which is no fault of the property
- Blanche (8/5): Cosy stay at Mollissons - Very confortable and super cosy room. The bed was just divine.
The bedroom has all the equipment you need. It was perfect ! The only little thing is that we can hear the music of the beer garden near the hotel. The music was quite loud until 1.30am. Other than that, everything was perfect !

An upgrade! Nothing

- AngeMelb (10/5): - Such a gorgeous place right in heart of Kyneton, walking distance to so many places. We had apartment upstairs which was so bright and airy. Although compact, everything was there we could need... lovely big bathroom, with adjustable shower (yay) to large bed. Although i love a firm bed, this was quite soft but very comfy for our stay. Great little features like real tea leaves, plunger coffee and a drink on arrival 💙 staff were so helpful too in giving advice for places to go, Eateries etc. Definitely one to recommend and to return to! Nothing.
- Graham and Ann (9/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Everything positive that you’ve read or know about this property is true - Everything Nothing
- Cameron McInnes (8/5): Very nice room, the host was knowledgeable and extremely helpful - Location was great a very short stroll to restaurants and shops I couldn’t really fault it
- Jenna (7/5): - The location was great and the property was beautiful. The bed was extremely creaky and the mattress was unsupportive
- Yisu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (10/5): Welcoming and cozy, a beautiful stay - The property was cozy and comfortable with an old world charm. The owner was so welcoming, helpful and friendly. Great place to stay, would highly recommend. Close to The Shamrock were we enjoyed a delightful dinner. Nothing, we will be recommending Mollisons to friends
- Gayle (10/5): So stay here it was so lovely and we would so stay here again - So pretty but also so lovely the little details, we were escorted it in to the accommodation like we were staying in a friends home. So sweet!!! The little gift and message on our arrival
We would so stay here again Nothing
- Kaye (10/5): Heavenly - luxury accommodation in the heart of Kyneton. the bed was so comfortable! everything was excellent
- Emily (8/5): Last minute booking - did the job - great meal from neighbouring pub very convenient - Location was good
nice large room
very clean
close to amenities in town quite pricey
would have preferred normal coffee or instructions on how to use a plunger/quantity of coffee to use etc
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Loren (8/5): Very good -
- Rachael (10/5): Beautiful place to stay for our weekend getaway! -
- Wooding (8/5): The old with the new made beautiful for two x - Absolutely beautiful place. Just have to be a little careful with the back step & we were unlucky to stay over the weekend of a heatwave. With no air conditioning & the large fans being fairly loud, it was a little uncomfortable. With that being said - we would definitely stay there again. It’s right in the middle of town in such a beautiful old building.
- David (10/5): Mollisons Kyneton great. stay - Location...the room....ease of check-in...the hosts...all excellent
- Anonymous (9/5): Beautiful accommodation in a quaint regional town - Mollisons offers beautifully appointed rooms in a lovely old heritage Bank Building. I chose this quaint town by accident, but was glad I did! It was a central location for day trips over to Daylesford, Caslemaine, Bendigo and my favourite village of historic Malden. Kyneton offers wonderful shops, galleries, restaurants and a lovely botanic garden. My room was pleasantly appointed and communication with the host was excellent. Deb was very prompt to rectify a problem in the room to ensure my stay was a pleasant experience. Nothing- it was a lovely place to stay
- Joyce (8/5): A comfortable and stylish base away from home. - I was moved from a Queen to a King room as a courtesy from the hosts. Both rooms were comfortable and charming. The King room was very large for 1 person. I chose Mollisons for a treat while also attending a print workshop in Trentham. It was easy to find, convenient and central with good access to local food. I had to leave early each day and returned late so unfortunately did not make full use of access to Kyneton and surrounds. It was a lovely quiet stay in a comfortable room. I was fortunate to have cool nights and mild days so did not need an air-conditioner. On hotter days, it could be nice to have one.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Mary (9/5): Met all expectations and felt nice and special - The decor, furnishings and size of room were excellent
Great proximity to main street, but was also very quiet and good access to a private car park
- Merryn (9/5): Superb -
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent! Great responsive host, beautiful room, clean and full of . - Loved the building, very historic but had modem amenities. Our room was gorgeous and the covered deck area was well used as the weather was hot during our stay .
Bed was super comfy. No wifi - but that didn't affect us too much. Minor really
- Jacqueline (8/5): Very good -
- Julia (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (10/5): Great stay, friendly and helpful staff - Great location, walked where we needed to go. Car parking at rear was great. Staff put in a fold up bed for an extra with no problems.
- Terri (8/5): Lovely peaceful accommodation with a charming room. - Extremely clean. Lovely bathroom, beautiful linen and comfortable bed. Allowed us early check in as we had a wedding to get ready for. Perhaps a more comfortable chair. Better blinds to block out the morning sun.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sassanata (10/5): Exceptional - I was in Kyneton for a wedding by myself. Along with other weddings held around the same time "the bus leaves from the Post Office" got me searching for the closest accommodation. Mollisons is a walk across the rd and you are there. Lovely old building with character and charm. Car park is private and well off the road, I felt very safe and welcomed. The room I had was perfect for what I needed. Cool and inviting, it was somewhere I felt instantly comfortable and at ease. My room was not "massive", but it was exactly what I needed (room 4). The small welcoming box was the icing on the cake, and the good quality loose leaf tea in the cabinet the cherry. I am glad I splurged, as I spent alot of time in this room getting ready. If I happen to need to stay over there again, I will definitely look at booking in once more. Not a complaint, I did splurge on the two nights. This is a treat to stay in, and if I was only needing a bed for a late night crash and early rise, I probably wouldn't waste such a nice option.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (7/5): Good - Deluxe room was spacious with a decking. No Aircon in Room, but on 31Degree day, the room stayed cool
- Carlos (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy, with tasteful quaint decor, very spacious. We loved the little porch with table and chairs, where we enjoyed takeaway meals. It's near all the dining options, shops, supermarket, plus the bus stop for the trip back to the train station. Deb, the owner, went out of her way to sort out the transportation to our horse ride at Silver Brumby (15 km away), as we had no conveyance and it was hard to find one or to coordinate with the stable owner. Thanks heaps, Deb! Thanks to Kathleen too for liaising in the phone calls to that end. Together they manage that whimsical shop at the front of the hotel, full of lovely items, gift ideas and more.
- Raelene (10/5): Doesn't get much better than this - Everything was just perfect. Our hostess provided accurate instructions on how to access the room. It was so easy. We would prefer scotch as our favourite tipple. It was a bonus that this was actually provided for us at all. As we booked very late we were pleased to get any room but we would have preferred a ground floor room. Next time, we will book earlier and request room.2. Wishing that we didn't have to leave so early so that we could have visited their store. It looked very promising.
- Greg (9/5): A good eat for lace to stay in downtown Kyneton. -
- Coe (7/5): Great price great stay - Great location, friendly staff, quiet and beautiful gardens. No cooking facilities and the shower flooded the bathroom
- Michelle (3/5): Comfortable room but hideous location next to pub. - Very clean, comfortable bed, lovely family room. Large bathroom Bathroom layout was big enough to include a deep bath.
We hated the location as our bedroom window was only 2 meters away from the window of the pub next door and they had a live band playing with flashing lights, which came into the room. Our romantic weekend was RUINED by this!
- Carmel (10/5): Exceptional - Well located, very comfortable, away from street noise and very clean.
- John (8/5): Pleasant - Location size Coffee table at floor level
- Hugo (8/5): Easy and relaxed in comfortable room. - Access for us on ground level made loading and unloading relatively easy. Room was light and airy and caught afternoon sun. Quiet spot outside with table and chairs. Missed not having wifi although hot spotting by phone worked.
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Bedside and room lighting could be better
- Barrie (9/5): Great. It would have been 10/10 if there'd been a hot water jug and appropriate crockery. - Very comfortable. No hot water jug or suitable crockery for tea or coffee.
- Ann (10/5): The owners were exceptionally helpful. - Close to facilities Nothing
- Susanne (10/5): Exceptional - The peacefulness and wasn't disturbed by traffic Would have bern nice to have a microwave.
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Kerry (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Great location and very comfortable
- Michelle (9/5): We had a wonderful weekend away. - Location was great and bed very comfortable
- Sonia (8/5): EXEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL STAFF AND THEY WERE MORE THAN HELPFUL MUCHLY APPRECIATED - Very peaceful and quiet and nice atmosphere, you wouldn’t think they the location was in the township was super quiet The old building and peaceful stay and the amazing staff were exceptionally helpful I couldn’t fault the staff nor the room
- Kerrie (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maree (8/5): Very good -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Taylor (8/5): Very good -
- Margaret (7/5): Great location. Beautiful decor. Clean - Beautiful decor
Great location
Big bed
Luxury linen
Nice towels No hairdryer
No wifi
Freezing bathroom
Very echoey
It lacks the finishing touches one expects from a boutique stay. The nice biscuits to go with the tea and coffee selection
Attention to comfort was lacking, like there wasn’t a suitable coffee table with the couch
There isn’t a bedside table next to the bed on the one side
You can hear all the passers by as the blinds aren’t thick enough to cancel out the noise
It misses the mark of heartfelt hospitality, however it is so close, a few minor tweaks and finishing touches would make it amazing
- John (9/5): Superb - Very clean and comfortable rooms. Convenience to everything. Very friendly and helpful staff/owners.
