- Bakhodir (10/5): - Удобная локация. 5-10минут ходьбы до метро. Апартамент просторный и чистый Внизу есть несколько пабов. Мы были на 16 этаже. Шум чуть доходило до нас
- Debbieann (8/5): Very good -
- Jesabel (7/5): Good - Hi I ask for extra bed and when I checked in the staff told me that I don’t need to pay extra anymore but when we checked out the staff ask my partner to pay for it which is weird because im on the phone call with the staff a day before we checked out and I said about the noise in the bedroom and that’s why if it’s okay to keep the extra bed in the living room for us to use before we checked out because w event sleep in the bedroom with all the loud noise coming from outside and she said it’s okay so we kept it but we didn’t know that we had to pay for it which is so weird.

- Timothy (9/5): Convenient and clean; I felt very comfortable in my apartment. - Loved the location, convenience and ability to work in the room. View was great too even though it was just territorial The gym needs a better piece of equipment that will allow to use a wider range of muscles.
- Stephen (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jennifer (7/5): Good - Very central Studio didn’t have a coffee machine and ac was super cold
- Matthew (9/5): Will be back in sure - My first room was a little dark and closer to construction noise so I paid to upgrade to a much better room, which was arranged promptly.
- Andrew (5/5): Just about passable, but I won't be staying there again. - The location is very central though the apartments are on a road that's a little steep. The rooms are a good size. The shower was excellent and I appreciated having a washing machine. A few things. On my first night I didn't sleep well because I was bitten by what I assume to be some kind of bed bug or flea. The staff then hot steamed the bed and replaced the bedding which stopped the problem. On the Friday and Saturday night there was a lot of noise from the bar / street just below my room. Went on until 2am or so. I lost my room key and was charged HK$300 for a replacement (no hotel has ever charged me before). The kitchen wasn't cleaned to the highest standard - everything felt a little greasy.
- Vb (10/5): Great location, spacious room with king size bed - Loved the location, daily cleaning and spacious room with king size bed Construction work going on in the next door flat and in the area, plus many pigeons making a lot of noise under the windows in the living room and kitchen
- Christina (3/5): Terrible employees - Location The staff
- Atanas (10/5): Exceptional -

- rdhkjn88 (2/5): Book this only if you want to be killed! - We had a pathetic experience at Shama Central. Their staff at night is extremely unprofessional - both Sunny and Jack Muhammed.
Our key cards were blocked on our last night and when we asked this guy to give us access, he refused and abused us. He threatened to kill us. Our 7 year old boy was feeling ill and we begged but this guy said “I don’t care”. He called few people and spoke to them in local language but when he was abusing us and threatening us he used Hindi. He knew we had an early morning flight and all our luggage was inside the room. This all happened when we paid all our nights in advance.
I really request all of you that no one should stay at this property. Book this only if you don’t love yourself and your family.
Their operation Manager Leo is not bothered and did not even care to check upon us.
- Christina (3/5): The employees ruined it - Location The people work there were extremely lazy and rude
- Ahmed (9/5): Great - Reception not helpful.
- Jez (8/5): Holiday time - The location was fantastic, the apartment clean and well laid out. The overally moody reception team. All bar one (can't remember her name) acted like we were an inconvenience. Kurt and bossy. Attitude which was not good. Maybe they just didn't want to work that day( it was a holiday) however all other staff we encountered were friendly.
- Tsz (7/5): Good -
- Victoria (8/5): our family enjoyed our stay at Shama! -
- Elvina (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (1/5): Awful customer service. Scam you for extra money - The size of the apartment We booked a room for 3 people. 2 adults (one pregnant) and our three year old daughter.
But there was no where for 3 people to sleep!!
There was only a double bed. So the hotel asked if we wanted to request an extra bed for $380hkd.
But on the booking app, we had been told there is “no extra charge” for our daughter and a bed for her would be included in the price of the room.
If we book a room for 3 people, there should be beds for THREE PEOPLE. Not only a double bed (double = 2 people).
So, they told me, that at 19 weeks pregnant, either I or our daughter had to sleep on the sofa.
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING.
So we asked, if we pay for a room for 3 people, without enough beds, what is actually included?
The lady replied ‘a toothbrush’
When we finally checked in, there were only 2 toothbrushes.
I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay here. The customer service and lies just ruined our whole trip.
- Irene (8/5): Very good -
- Bertrand (8/5): Large rooms - Space !!! These flats are way above HK standards, and way larger than HK hotel rooms. They advertise for 700 sqft (65 sqm) but in reality, they're closer to 430 sqft (40 sqm) in reality with is already bigger than a 5* hotel room at twice the price (I used my iPhone and Lidar to sketch a quick real size floorplan which is quite accurate).
During my first stay, I was upgraded to 1000 sqft (95 sqm), which is close to 70 sqm. The hotel access is a bit hard as Peel Street is very steep, so dragging your suitcase is an Olympic event by itself. Also, most taxis don't want to get into Peel Street, so access is from the top (Hollywood Road) or bottom (Gage Street).
As usual for Hong Kong, city views aren't always great, whatever floor you stay on: direct view of crappy buildings with direct vis-a-vis. The neighbourhood has multiple construction sites, so if you plan to work in your room during the day, get earplugs and headphones.
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- Matt (8/5): Very good -
- ゆうたんたん (8/5): There is no problem if your luggage is light. - The room was beautiful, large and clean. The staff was kind. There are many steep hills and it is far from Hong Kong Station. I was tired of walking with a heavy suitcase. The taxi was refused because it was too close.
- Alina (9/5): Will come back - Space and clean Loud at nights because of drunk expats
- Rishi (8/5): Very good - Comfortable, spacious, excellent location. Could do with more TV channels. Also the Netflix didn’t work.
- Bertrand (10/5): Great value, large rooms. - It’s huge ! I lived in smaller apartments in Hong Kong! Nice neighborhood with easy access to restaurants and not too far from the escalators. Peel street is very steep and most taxi or Uber don’t want to access the street. You need to drag your luggage on the street.
- Bertrand (10/5): Exceptional - Great space for the money. One of the largest accommodation in Hong Kong. Difficult Access. Taxi drop off is complicated.
- Ka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Julien (5/5): Passable - Clean and comfortable but noisy location I had to check out of the hotel 2 nights in advance due to unforeseen circumstances and the manager extended no gesture in the form of a discount on the remaining night. I was charged in full.
- Sung (9/5): Superb -
- Liang (8/5): Great location, great service, great room with nice view in Central. - excellent location and service Too loud at late night
- Diane (7/5): Good - Room was very big and clean. Cannot control the AC and it is noisy at night.
- Mitra (1/5): they had horrendous building construction noise all day which should have been mentioned at the time of booking it on th - the space of our luxury apartment was good the location is terrible with a slope where cars or taxis can’t do through it’s such a struggle. the maid was terrible and very bad cleaning and she didn’t even change our sheets for a week.
- Jasmine (6/5): Pleasant - the location was buzzing and close to the escalators the shower had a drainage problem
- Sophers (10/5): Exceptional - Mena the housekeeping is a very helpful lady, my mother escaped my room and was found by the management and team and promplty returned her to me. The space was amazing and the location was perfect for meeting friends and family as well as the fabulous bars and restaurants nearby Escaping mothers.
- Jennifer (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at Shama - comfortable and spacious room, and excellent customer service. - I liked the size of the room, except for the kitchen, it was very small, but the rest of the room was a good size for me and my family. The room attendant was very thorough with the cleaning, and always kept our bed and room clean. The room was adequately quiet, although there's some noise coming from the construction nearby. I also liked that the toilet was separate from the bathroom. The toilet had a slight odour, i think coming from the sewage. It would help to have an exhaust fan in the toilet to keep the smell out. When we used the dryer, even on the lowest or coolest setting, some of our clothes still shrunk slightly. I told the housekeeping staff, and she said we could borrow a drying rack to dry our clothes. That was really nice, but had I not told her about the dryer situation, I wouldn't have known that a drying rack was available to borrow. So perhaps information like this should be mentioned upon checking in.
- Minna (10/5): Exceptional - newly renovated and comfortable location is close to wet market, and on uphill road, not good for elderly or bad back people
- Krzysztof (9/5): Superb - One of the best service apartments options in Central.
- Enn (7/5): Good -
- Greenfield (2/5): Awful, waste of money. Stay in a hotel in another district for the same price or less and avoid. - Nothing. Room decor was bizarre and soulless. Tasteful, cozy sofa and table setting from years past has been replaced with utilitarian faux marble slab and immigration office-esque chairs. Air conditioning units glows a haunting, florescent blue which makes it virtually impossible to sleep.
Aggressive, unfriendly and nasty staff, in particular the night manager on weekends who threatened to call the police of me when my friend was pulling on the door before I managed to tap the door card. I have never been threatened by "hotel" staff before in my multiple decades of travel.
Noisy surroundings with drunken partiers right outside the window. Completely unhelpful and surly staff managing every shift, Worst customer service I ever experienced in Asia. The staff were speaking to me disparagingly in Cantonese without realising that I understood what they were saying. Only the housekeepers were pleasant. We have been staying in Shama for the past 15 years and the place has completely gone downhill. Will never stay here again and will inform all friends and family to AVOID at all costs.
- Oshrit (1/5): horrible - staff are the rudest I ever know .they charged my card with out my approval with extra fee I actually had to called the bank to block the card.
such a horrible experience. I actually left two days before my original checking out date because of this .
they asked me to pay the Extra fee even if I wasn’t stay there anymore . I paid $2000 for nothing !
they were yelling at me, and didn’t let me go inside the room if I wasn’t agree to pay .
be careful of this place . I wouldn’t even recommend this to my enemies
- Morgaine (5/5): Passable -
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy, spacious, spotless and quiet
- Ho (7/5): Good -
- D8185WGcc (10/5): An excellent stay - Excellent stay, stayed here to celebrate a special event, the room is spacious, nice and clean. The service was above par. All the staff were polite, attentive and helpful. We will definitely return to Shama Central in the future.
- vv46709394vv (10/5): Newly refurbished - Haven't stay at Shama Central for a few years, heard that they have refurbished the rooms and booked a room last weekend. The apartment located in the heart of central. Offering a luxury and comfortable living space. Nice service from the counter staff with top cleaning service. Highly recommended and would come back again.
- Desced (10/5): Newly renovated and friendly staffs - We got an upgrade to the newly renovated room and it was very nice. The room we stayed was big, the staff said it was 750 sq ft, and it comes with a fully equipped kitchen!! Couples should come if you are keen to make a candle light dinner for your loved ones. The place is near Soho and we did enjoy few restaurants in the neighborhood.
Staffs are very friendly and helpful! Thank you guys for the great service. Will definitely book again!
- slanderous (2/5): Long stay refund issue - Shama also offers long term rental. I lived here for 18 months. Beware, I have yet to receive my deposit back longer than the agreed 14 days in the contract. I left before Chinese New Year. It’s a lot of money and they keep finding excuses not to return the deposit.
- IsabellaCSS (2/5): Not clean at all, I cleaned the room! - When I saw the photo in the internet i thought already that it won`t be that modern anymore. When we arrived, I was shocked. The sofa had many stains. - it was disgusting. The windows were so durty I clean them (see photo)... We just stayed here as we were looking for a flat to rent in HK. We booked this place for 1 month but we wanted to leave as soon as possible. Gladly we found a flat after 2 weeks. We asked the reception for a refund as it was not clean at all but they refused it. Do not rent this service appartment, but if you do... i warned you.
- 211mariona (10/5): Three days in Hong Kong - Very well located in Central. Easy to walk to everywhere
Bars, restaurants, ferry terminal etc.
Excellent service. Well equipped apartment. Great aircon. Bed very comfortable
Will recommend and stay here again on our next visit
- andrewchristopher (10/5): great location and service - have stayed for 3 days with my wife. Location is excellent with different restaurants and bar around. Staffs at the reception are helpful and nice. Room is spacious and kitchen. Will definitely come back next time!!
- Voyager07837948272 (8/5): Thank you!! - It was nice stay thought very short like only 30 days. I would have preferred to stay more considering the services provided during my stay and connectivity to office and all food outlets. I would surely look forward to stay at this place in future
- IrishinAsia2014 (4/5): Dirty sofas and rugs and chipped , broken furniture - Not the luxury seen in the photos. Bedlinen and towels very clean and staff very pleasant. Great location- just don't be taken un by the website photos. The rooms are shabby and tired. Very good lication for escalator and taxis though.
- DayTrip22270486770 (10/5): Grace Spurgeon - Excellent stay, fantastic staff. Always clean and staff very quick to sort out any issues.
Also, I stayed at the hotel on Hollywood road - amazing location.
Would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying in HK.
- michaelv0486 (10/5): Very nice accommodations in great location - I stayed at Shama for 5 months while on business. The 1 bedroom apartment is nice and very spacious. The service and management are very friendly and professional. The location is excellent, just near the popular SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong areas.... major expat areas.
- joebO7584CN (10/5): Best Place to be in Hongkong - Shama Central is best located in Hongkong, close to MTR, Bars, restaurants, shopping and offices.
Very frindly staff , and clean and spacious appartments and a good fitness aerea.
Will go again and ejoy my stay in Hongkong
- kechmarasirap (4/5): deplorable staff! old and durty! - the staff is hugely arrogant ! typical hypocrit staff. .
facilities are mediocre and durty, for example the washing machine room.
appartment is mediocre, old furniture not at all as per standard in line with the price you pay.
- sunils658 (8/5): Shama Hotel - Well located hotelGood if you are the partying type.Lots of bars and restaurantsClose to ferry to MacauSafe environmentOverall we has a pleasant stay expect for the late night music from the bar opposite our room.
- EKSG2022 (10/5): Sharma Central Hong Kong - Walking distance to Central station, IFC, LKF, next to escalator. Surrounded by plenty of good local and international food on Peel Street itself, Hollowood Road and Aberdeen Street. Great local shops, Art district round the corner.
- jetblue09 (10/5): Fantastic Stay - best hotel in Soho - I recently stayed at the Shama Central for 6 nights and had an amazing stay. Huge thank you to the staff who were able to accommodate me in the Penthouse which was spectacular. The room had a huge kitchen with an island, living room, master bedroom, walk-in closet, and two bathrooms. The room was spotless and had incredible views in all directions of the city.
Shama Central has the best location in Hong Kong! Steps away from all the attractions in central including PMQ, Midtown Escalator, and Man Mo temple. There are two nearby supermarkets ParknShop and Marks & Spencer Food. My office is located in The Center which is less than a 5 minute walk.
The staff at Shama Central are great and incredibly helpful. They were able to store my bags for the day as I had a later flight back to Boston in the evening.
Thanks you again Shama for a memorable trip and I hope to come back soon.
- T6726OEkevins (6/5): Serviced apt in Central - Good location serviced apt, stayed here for a month due to relocation for work. Rooms are dated, and found sometimes the towels were not clean. There were also large stains ln the carpet and sofa. Do NOT stay on low floors as the street noise from the bars downstairs are quite notoceable at night. Had trouble sleeping without earplugs.
- Mapfay (10/5): Good experience - My company booked this apartment (I was in HK on business with the family for a week).
My view:
- great location
- clean apartment
- good size
- friendly staff
Overall very happy with the place. I noticed afterwards that some people complained in their trip advisor reviews about internet access. It was perfectly fine for us, we stayed at the place in July so maybe they fixed the problems that were there previously. We were on the 17th floor and there was no noise. Flat had a small kitchenette but this was fine for our stay.
I’d recommend the place to others. We preferred it to a hotel.
- Journeyman-Saffa (4/5): Below average - The 2nd time i have stayed at Shama, so feel compelled to write a review this time.
Lets start with the pro's. The location on Peel street is great - close to soho, and sheung wan. Restaurants, shops and the escalator to central are super close. The rooms are big. They let me check in early at 11am, when check in was only 2pm.
the bad
- hard beds... hard pillow
- room not cleaned properly, both times i stayed - linen and the bathroom
- big rooms but so much empty space..... it feels every budget inside.
- i was on a low floor and the noise from gages / peel street was LOUD!
- wifi signal wasnt great, and dropped often, which is not ideal for work.
Would i stay here again, because of the cost i would probably give it 1 more go, espeically if i wasn't spending much time in the room, however if i've got time in the room, i'd probably opt for a better hotel.
