- TSUYOSHI (10/5): -
- Arratana (8/5): - Très bien c’est propre
- Sam (9/5): comfortable and good value - The apartment was big enough for 4 or more people. The price was good and it is close enough to Shinjuku. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the station and then about 15 minutes to Seibu-Shinjuku station which is close to Kabukicho. It is good if you want to save money on accommodation for a big group. The location is not that ideal as we spend more on transportation time and money but it is worth the price that we are paying
- Joanna (10/5): Lovely stay in traditional Japanese home - We enjoyed the experience of staying in a traditional Japanese home. Its not a tourist area which we liked seeing the neighbourhood and it was quiet. The station is an 8 minute walk and there are resturants and places to eat that are for locals.
The local train takes you to Shinjiku station easily.
We had good communication with the owners who always responded right away
- Yamada (7/5): - 広いしゆっくり出来ました。 最初の入り口が分からなかった。

- Genesis (10/5): Awesome location and stay. - We had a bit of trouble using the code system to get in but the property management was super fast in responding to help us out. The location of the apartment is awesome! About an 8 minute walk to the local train station. There also many small restaurants near by to choose from.
We used the washer on the property and walked about 3 houses down to use the coin laundry to dry some clothes quickly. I definitely recommend this apartment for bigger families as its very spacious. The location is great it gives you a glimpse of a smaller town with all the amenities you need.
I recommend walking around broadway mall, sunmall and trying out OCTA for some tacos.

Prezzo molto conveniente
Proprietario molto cordiale e disponibile
- Jan (8/5): - Host was super responsive and helpful. Also the place is super spacious by Japanese standards.
- Shaun (10/5): Great space to relax and make a our home while we explored Tokyo. - Large apartment to spread out and relax. Great places to eat nearby including OCTA - Mexican food. We went there twice! Nothing really … An extra train to get to main areas but just part of experience. No TV channels/streaming etc to watch but not really an issue as on holiday and out exploring most days and sleeping when got back to accommodation.
- HAOTING (10/5): - Spacious, clean, comfortable, near convenience stores (family mart, 7-11) and some restaurants. Close to Shinjuku line metro station (7-9 min walk).
- Rebecca (10/5): Enjoyable stay in a quiet area - be prepared for the futon experience on tatami floor. - Amazing spacious apartment in a lovely suburban pocket of Tokyo. One family member had a hard time with the futon and didn't sleep - fortunately we discovered spare ones the second night to layer underneath (think princess and the pea). Great to have a full kitchen and plates etc to cook 'at home.' The bedroom was rather light early morning so sleep was short for some.

- Artem (10/5): Nice stay in a quiet neighbourhood of Tokyo - Everything was great. The apartment is very spacious, and the kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary items. The location is also good - situated in a very quiet neighbourhood of Tokyo. The metro station is about a 5-7 minute walk away. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance as well.
- Dominik (9/5): Superb - Traditional interior
- Caleb (10/5): Great local stay in a traditional style house - Amazing traditional Japanese style house, perfect for a group A bit of a walk from the station but nothing too bad
- Ester (10/5): Great experience, good value for your money - We really loved the style of the house, it was nice to experience the sleeping arrangements. Which is a futon bed. We were a group of 5 so the size of the apartment was perfect. The area itself is super cute, lots of smaller restaurants close by. If you like to thrift vintage clothing there is a good thrift store close to the station. I thought the walk to the station itself was not a problem takes maybe 5-7 minutes. Might take little longer getting into the city. But honestly didn’t think it was a problem. Would definitely want to stay here again if I come back to Japan
- Chee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bala_1982 (10/5): Exceptional - Rooms are big and include all facilities Location but far from station
- Prachi (9/5): Superb - The house is wonderful and very cozy. The neighborhood is quaint. It’s a bit longer commute to main locations in town.
- Acimar (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is really confortable!
- Ryan (4/5): Unreasonably overcharged and taken advantage of. - The lodging was spacious but there were things that were dirty that really upset me because I was charged an extra ¥10,000 was cleaning which is totally wrong and so feel this is not justified by what we experienced and witnessed. The remote controllers for the television and air conditioner/heater were dirty, the cup was still dirty and stain from prior use, and there was hair in the shower room left on the floor.
I feel that we should be refunded our cleaning charge of ¥10,000 either all or a majority of that charge.
The advertising of the price for this rental property is deceptive and the cleaning charges are over 56% of the advertised price of ¥17,800. ¥10,000!!!!!!
In the US, we refer to this kind of business as highway robbery.
This is an unjustified charge considering what we experienced and witnessed.
I would like this communicated to both Ostay Numabukuro Hotel and Booking.com. If this is not dealt with fairly, I feel this needs to be communicated to the public to clearly forewarn potential customers from experiencing the same thing I am going through right now.
The question I have from a business standpoint and customer service standpoint, will you refund my cleaning charge any or all?
Your reputation and business depends on how you treat your customers.
Please consider my feelings about this matter as this is a moral and money issue that is at hand.
I would like someone who is responsible for these kind of decisions to respond to this issue in a timely manner this week. The sooner I hear a response the better, as it shows your sincerity to hearing customers’ feelings and a true desire to run your business in a proper manner.
Until this happens, I cannot recommend either this location or service as reputable.
No one wants unreasonable and hidden charges when making purchases. Would you pay ¥10,000 additional service fees above the quoted price??? How would you feel????
Can you justify that charge?
Please consider this issue.
Ryan I called the phone number and a living operator handled my concerns the best as they could but could not justify the cleaning charge except for apologizing.
When I got to the residence at around 9:30 pm, an operator knowledgeable about how to get into the residence was able to explain about the numbers that appeared after I pushed the four digit-code plus the star symbol. The answer was pushing the numbers in order followed by the asterisk.
There were enough towels for the three of us. There were appliances in the kitchen, sink area, and heaters in the room that properly worked, though the remote controllers were dirty. (Unprofessional cleaning.)
Unfortunately, there were no toothbrushes or toothpaste which are commonly provided if someone stays at a hotel. I did not see this message about no toothbrushes or toothpaste provided.
I did appreciate that the operator quickly sent me an English map guide with pictures how to get to the residence by pdf immediately upon request. That was great. The phone operator was great in that respect.
Even though I was upset about the cleaning charge, the operator did her best to understand and deescalate this problem, though it wasn’t her fault but a management decision to charge customers this high price.
- Anton (10/5): Exceptional - Big space, clean and all the equipments functional well. Not so near to nearest station, max just for 11 peoples (incl children)
- Rohit (10/5): Could not have been better - Amazing location N/A
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Ozlem (9/5): Superb -
- Charmaine (9/5): Traditional and comfortable - We felt very comfortable. The neighborhood is really quiet. There are also convenience stores and restaurants nearby. It’s quite far from the city and the walk from the apartment to the train station was about 8-10 minutes.
- Wil (8/5): The host is very responsive and the property has got everything you need - The space, it is very sufficient for a family of four The steps/stairs going to the room as it was located on the 3rd floor and there is no lift with narrow staircase
- Yh1967 (8/5): Was a good convenient base for a family visit to Tokyo. Spacious and spotlessly clean home. - Location, a quiet residential area. A typical Japanese home. Very spacious. Spotlessly clean. Convenient 7 minute walk to Namabukuro Station and then a short bus ride to Nakano station. Bars / restaurants - some interesting ones in Namabukuro. On check in, we looked for the room with the Western beds. It turned out that our chosen/allocated home did not have the beds. We are too unfit to rest on futon! Photos of the overall advert misled us to think beds were standard. It was clarified once I sought the answer. First night, noise of washing machine from the upsrairs apartment kept me awake but it wasn't helped by the jetlag. We had no hangers on check in but was prompty sorted for us. No coffee making facilities. Some tea / coffee supplies would have been a pleasant addition.
- Jefferson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (9/5): Great place if you do not need to stay in the center - We had a wonderful stay and we enjoyed that little town. all good
- Benjamin (7/5): Good -
- Benjamin (7/5): Good -
- Ivychiaa (9/5): Enjoyable stay but could have been perfect....... - The room size is big and comfortable to fit the 4 of us. Amenities are abundant [free to take] which is very generous of the host. The hotel is all managed by digitalized system and it is safe to put your luggage at the lobby area [due to early check out timing]. About 7 mins walk there is a Donki and surrounding there are family marts and other convenience shops, eatery i am not aware of. The down point of this place is the pillow ...crazily too soft and it felt like you are not sleeping in on of them. Please request the extra from the host if you hate soft pillow.
- Dale (9/5): Enjoyed staying in an authentic Japanese family apartment with family restaurants nearby. - After spending most of our time in Japan staying in hotels, it was nice to have a few nights in a spacious apartment. The area that this apartment is in is located in a quieter part of Tokyo. Which is nice. We stayed here because we were going to Harry Potter studio tour at the end of our trip. Not knowing much about the area before we booked, we found it to be a little harder to get around. Bus is the local public transport. There are trains also but not as easily accessible. You can walk to the trains which is fine but a bit annoying with all your luggage.
- Guy (7/5): Comfortable, clean but away from the action! - Spacious, very clean apartment Too far from Tokyo center. Neighbourhoods quite ordinary. Directions to get to the apartment were over complicated and confusing. There were no instruction how to use appliances (micro wave, washing machine). The iron was unusable because it has not been cleaned for a long time.
- 怡宣 (9/5): An excellent accommodation experience! Very comfortable. - An excellent accommodation experience with a very Japanese-style living environment.
The bedding is very comfortable, and the place is extremely clean.
Though the location seems far, it’s actually quite close to Shinjuku and easy to transfer trains and metro.
There’s also a great sento (public bath) nearby.
The traditional Japanese-style room is perfect for groups of five or more.
Each person can fully open their suitcase, which is very convenient. Since a washing machine is provided, it would be great if the host could add some tools for drying clothes, like a clothes rack and hangers
- Michael (9/5): we had a great stay - We liked everything and for us it was fine that it was outside of the main city a bit.
- Mark (8/5): Very good. - Nice quiet location but only five minutes from the nearest train station. Very attentive owner.
Comfortable beds. No hot water, misunderstanding re switch.
- Jess (7/5): Good -
- Polyanna (8/5): It was a nice stay - It’s clean There are only 3 chairs to use and it’s 4 of us who booked to rent the property, during meal time one of us doesn’t have a chair to sit on.
- Chatchai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gillian (8/5): Very good - As we were staying a week in Tokyo we wanted to be in the suburbs and away from the centre of Tokyo town. This place was the perfect location. It was 5 mins walk to the train station and bus stop which took us anywhere around Tokyo. The area around the train station is peppered with tiny eateries, which were really inexpensive. Not much in the way of bars if you just wanted a drink.
The apartment was a good size with laundry facilities and the shower was separate to the toilet. The shower had fantastic pressure. Kitchen clean and functional. At first we thought the beds looked hard but we both slept well. It was amazingly quiet in the apartment, it must have terrific sound proofing. The aircons worked very well. We would definitely recommend it, and we would stay there again. Don't expect a view and there isn't a lounge area, or couch to sit on. On the last day we could smell cigarette smoke. It appears other tenants use the stairwell to smoke in.
- Vikram (10/5): Fantastic stay - It was spacious and well equipped . It made our stay very comfortable . Wish it was closer to a major train station .
- Shuk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tiffany (10/5): Comfortable and easy to reach out to owners! - I loved how it had a mix of traditional aspects of Japan as well as just a comfortable bedroom with two beds.
- Matthew (10/5): Very nice place and nice owners. - The room is very spacious and very nice looking. Very comfortable and in a nice neighborhood. The owner is very accommodating, kind and understandable. The room is a bit far from the main city and attractions.
- Marlyn (8/5): Very good -
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional - Nice, calm location, direct line to Shinjuku station, 15 mins by SS , 7 mins walk to Numabukuro station.
There are several supermarkets around.
We were the company of 8 people, so, apartment is comfortable and spacious for big company 🙏🏽
Practiced to sleep on futons, it was OK experience. 😁
Maybe wardrobes can be cleaned more thoroughly, the rest was perfect 🙏🏽
Arigato gozaimasu 😌
- Kayla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roadsun (8/5): Very good -
- Lewis (8/5): Very good -
- Worathip (10/5): Great place for family big group or friends - It is cozy place and Japanese futon style
- Camille (9/5): Superb - The apartment is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood. Spacious for a big family group of 8 including kids (with room for more :)) for the price you're paying. The host was very accommodating and helpful with our last minute requests which made the stay even worth it.
- Cheng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moritz (9/5): Superb -
- Maly (8/5): Very good -
- Princess (9/5): Superb - Clean and spacious! Good value for the money for a bigger group. Owner is pleasant and helpful through online communications.
- Kathleen (8/5): great accommodations with everything we needed. a bit of a walk to train station but not bad. - very clean. great washing machine and good place to hang laundry. lovely quiet neighborhood. plenty of space for our family of 4. on 3rd floor with no elevator. fine for most people but I have a bad knee.
- Yuen (10/5): Exceptional - the flat is spacious and clean and quiet, we had a very comfortable stay the flat is on the 3rd floor without a lift, it was a bit difficult for us to carry our suitcases to the 3rd floor
- Somkiat (9/5): Superb -
- Alina (8/5): Strategic location, spacious apartment and excellent service. - The apartment is spacious and has two toilets. The host is nice, responsive, and accommodating. They allowed us to drop off our luggage before check-in at 4pm.
The location was good and it was only 7 mins walk to the Numabukoro train station.
Easy self check in too. Also, there a kimono to try on in the room. Haha The smoking smell in the kitchen. I did feedback to the host, and they mentioned that the previous tenants were irresponsible and ignored the "do no smoke" sign in the house.
- Bipasha (8/5): Convenient apartment bit far from Shibuya/Shinjuku - Well equipped. Typical Tokyo apartment.
Clean
Clear instructions on property rules
Tastefully designed, interesting for foreigners to have a smart cum japanese house experience, like sliding doors, tatami mat room, futons. No elevator in the building. The Apartment is on 3F.
It would be nice to mention this in the property description.
The name of the property on Booking.com and the actual name of the property is different. it took sometime to find the property.
It's a bit far from city centre but one can take a bus to reach the nearest big train station (Nakano) or take train via Numabukuro station to reach there.
- Joanna (1/5): Bad - Nothing Sadly we never saw it. Host cancelled 2 days before our trip due an issue there. Offered us an alternative in another part of town, we had to take as everything was booked up being cherry blossom time. However when we arrived the promised 4 bed accomodation was a 2 bed , non traditional studio apartment. They offered us either a cancellation or a half refund, had to make do, go out and buy airbeds or pay for a hotel all now very expensive, ruined our time in Tokyo.
- Mitch (10/5): Exceptional -
- Farid (10/5): It's recommend specially perfect for a group of friends and family. It's got two big room - The design of the house was good, the highlight was good communication of our host The location on booking.com did not match. The host was cooperative and we were sent a clear instructions to find the place
- Juan (8/5): nice - traditional and very comfortable wifi is not working well
