• Mousa (1/5): It is a basement apartment. No reception, no sign. Do not book. Do not give them your card details. - Nothing This listing is a fraud. I booked Golden Tulip Suite Apart (Aug 21–25, 2025) expecting a legitimate hotel — instead it was a dirty, unsafe basement apartment pretending to be a hotel. The name is deliberately misleading and they are deceptive. Major problems (all true): • Paid in full before arrival; they attempted a second charge on Aug 26. The payment was processed under SAFRAN OTELCILIK ISTANBUL, not “Golden Tulip”. This is shady — do not give these people your card details. • No hotel facilities: no reception, no signage, no staff — only one man who handed over keys. • Hygiene: heavy presence of insects and flies (photos attached). • False “breakfast”: advertised breakfast turned out to be a tiny piece of cheese and a slice of tomato — insulting and fraudulent. • Maintenance & safety: one toilet does not flush; several windows won’t close or have no protection, including a window that opens to a junk area and an upper window that faces a noisy street — easy to break in and steal your stuff. • Air conditioning units are fixed temperature with no control — unbearable if you need to change it. This is dangerous and dishonest. I stayed one night and left. Report this listing, demand a refund from Booking and your bank, and never book or give card details to this place. • Ana (9/5): Estancia genial en pleno centro de Estambul - Todo estuvo genial, piso cómodo y limpio. Hamit, muy amable nos facilitó todo lo que estaba a su alcance. La primera noche hubo un percance y nos tuvieron que alojar en un hotel próximo, no nos importó en absoluto, estaba situado a un minuto del apartamento y ellos mismos se encargaron de tansportar nuestro equipaje al día siguiente hasta al apartamento sin necesidad de esperar (gracias por eso). La ubicación es inmejorable, junto a Santa Sofía y la mezquita azul (menos de diez minutos a pie). El desayuno fantastico, todas las mañanas nos dejaron pan y leche en la puerta y unas bandejas con embutidos fruta , verduras y huevos. Nos gestoinaron dos transfer al aeropuerto, cosa que recomendamos ya que hay mucho tráfico y está a mçás de una hora de distancia. Sin duda, repetiriamos alli! Por decir algo que el apartamento tiene poca ventilación y las tapas del WC están pegadas, pero insignificante, todo estuvo genial y la estacia fue mas que satisfactoria.

• celia (6/5): - La ubicación era excelente. El barrio tranquilo. Las camas muy cómodas con baño privado. Nos proporcionaron traslado al aeropuerto por un precio razonable. Responden muy rápido a los mensajes y la llegada fue fácil. Al llegar pagamos en efectivo, como nos habían pedido, pero no tenían cambio y tampoco nos dieron un recibo. Tuvimos que insistir varias veces y al final tardaron dos días en devolvernos el cambio (30 euros). Una de las habitaciones da a la calle y la ventana está justo al lado de unas sillas y mesas donde se sentaron varias personas que estuvieron hasta las 3 de la mañana hablando en voz alta. Fue imposible dormir allí. No había cafetera. El último día no tuvimos electricidad.

Buenas relación calidad-precio para un sitio donde dormir en Estambul. Buena presión del agua. Al estar en Old Estambul, con la lluvia estuvimos sin luz, sin wifi, sin agua caliente. Anticuado. Nos resultó sorprendente que la señora de la limpieza del bloque tuviera el cuarto con lavadora, ropa de cama, etc ... Dentro de nuestro alojamiento; en un cuarto cerrado con llave, por lo que entraba y salía de nuestro alojamiento cuando quería (poca privacidad y no teníamos llave para cerrar las habitaciones. El espacio con mesa y bancos, a modo de saloncito para compartir espacio juntos la familia, está en medio del baño y una habitación. Cocina pequeña, estaría muy bien tener una tostadora

Host was accommodating. Needs to be refurbished. A lot of damaged walls, a broken railing on a perilous spiral stair, toilet seats won’t stay up as other reviews have said. Rooms are very tight and ours was at floor -1.

• Exhei (9/5): Lovely stay - Spacious apartment with great location near the main Mosques of Istanbul, walking distance to the famous Bazaar. They also managed a restaurant in front of the Apartment called Marbella (great service and food). Apartment was equipped with everything needed to host a big family. They brought fresh bread every morning and breakfast was decent enough. Aziz the manager booked taxis for us, also made reservations and recommendations to places. He also arranged a cake for my fathers birthday , we dined at Marbella restaurant. The upstairs people were doing a lot of noise on our first day, Aziz the manager called them and then it was fine. The toilet covers need to be fixed. Also to mention the apartment is at -1, not ground floor.
• Nachel (7/5): If location and value are high priority, this is a good place to stay. - The location was excellent, an easy 10-minute walk to Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque), and only a little further to Hagia Sofia and Topkapi Palace. Accommodations for at least six adults. Aziz was friendly, accommodating and helpful with directions and suggestions. For morning coffee, we were expecting something more than Nescafe. We also looked past the patches of mold on the walls in two of the bedrooms.

• Michail (5/5): Good neighborhood, polite and helpful owner but need improvements - Nice location with many small groceries around restaurant and other small shops. Just 5 minutes walk to sultan ahmed mosque and Hagia Sophia. The owner was really helpful 1)We did not realize that in this apartment also the housekeeping room(locked washer and dryer) was in the house for all other holidays. So every day the cleaner was coming while we are indoors for cleaning and our and the other apartments like we were invisible!!!! She kept the main door of the apartment unlocked while she was there. 2)The first day we could not get the hot water (used to heat the apartment and shower) to work. A few things were tried and didn't work, We send message to the owner and in 5 minutes he came and fix it for about 10 minutes, after than the problem cane but...just not hot water just cold for the rest of our stay....so 3 days without shower for 6 people...PLEAZE FIX THE PROBLEM

Everything is very clean and new, the beds are very comfortable and the sheets are clean and tidy. • Ragna (7/5): Nice but no privacy - The apartment has a lot of room and is really nice. Every room has its own bathroom. The breakfast is fine. The location is great, really close to the Blue Mosque. We really liked the shower (rainshower). On the other side of the hotel there is a really nice restaurant of the same owner. I really didn't like that the serviceroom was in our apartment (in an other review the owner says they moved it out of the apartment but that is not true). The whole day the cleaner was in our apartment to cut cheese in our kitchen for the breakfast of all the rooms or walks in to get some cleaning material. There was no privacy what so ever. Several times we found the door open or the key in the door and nobody in the apartment or in the hallway. It felt we had no control over our apartment. The frontdoor was open and every one could walk in and get our stuff. I asked several times if the cleaner could close the door or take the key with her/him. Aziz assured that it was safe because they were close by but I really didn't like it. The apartment itself is really nice but I can only recommand it if you really don't mind people walking in all day and no garantee your stuff is safe because of open doors.

I love how they give us morning bread as breakfast. They inc egg, jam, butter , fruits and all in the fridge for us to eat. This apartment is sooo comfortable i swear to god. I love this place. The host also nice A+ for it.
• Kristin (8/5): Great apartment for families in the middle of Sultanahmet! - Very nice apartment with 3 bedrooms plus a small bunk room (5 beds total) as well as a small dining nook and a kitchen. It was in an ideal location, just a few minutes from most major sites in Sultanahmet. Aziz was friendly and responsive, and the ladies who cleaned daily around 11am were very nice as well. Everything was clean, breakfast was stocked in the fridge the day before (uncooked eggs, cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, meat, jams, olives, etc.) with fresh bread delivered in the mornings. Two days we didn’t get the bread and once we didn’t have eggs, but Aziz was quick to fix it and deliver things. NOTE: payment is made in cash, so travelers need to bring dollars or Euro. One of the bathrooms had a smell, and it would be great if the kitchen had a few more items (a spatula for the frying pan, another pot, etc). But I think they are just getting started so hopefully they can add!
• Veliade (7/5): Nice place near historical city center - Great huge apartments to stay with whole family or big company. A lot of bathrooms and rooms. Breakfast was fine (fresh bread every morning, cheese, vegetables, sausages, fruits). But be careful with using sauces in the fridge, some of them were really smelly - might have expired. Parking was near building, but if you will return late it might be busy. One bathroom had a leaky faucet. Unfortunately, nobody came to fix, just gave as more towels to cover wet floor. At the night might be a little bit noisy because of the restaurant's music ( some of them work after midnight).
• Yordan (9/5): Overall I can recommend the place. - The accommodation is a large apartment which is on the ground floor (some of the rooms are slightly underground with smaller windows high under the ceiling) with three en-suite bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, one transitional room with a bunk bed, kitchen and dining area. It's really convenient for more people - e.g. 3 couples and two children. It was clean and spacious. The location is great for exploring the center - Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque. In the morning there were cheeses and bread left by the host, which were enough for 3 adults and two children. The food was delicious. The host was kind. Free parking in front of the place is advantage. I wouldn't single out anything serious as a drawback.

The service room used by the staff is located within the same department, which is why, the day we stayed at home for several hours, the person came and went all the time. • Masha (10/5): Comfortable serviced apartment in a great location - The apartment is in a great location. Super close to the sightseeing and lots of restaurants but on the quiet side of the streets. There was space for all 7 of us, and it was great to have 3 bathrooms! Good shower too! It was lovely to have breakfast available with fresh baked bread daily - including eggs and veggies, fruit, and lots of cheeses. It is a serviced apartment, so there is a little kitchen and someone comes to clean it up - including dishes! - every day after 11/12 when you leave sightseeing. Laundry help is included as well - this was super convenient. This would work well if you plan on going sightseeing for the day after breakfast, as there is time then for things to be cleaned (bathrooms, kitchen, etc). The host is super responsive - and very helpful, as well. We were worried as needed to print our visa and he helped us our, even though it was extra work.

• Niamh (9/5): Great apartment in a great location - This a a great apartment in an excellent location, very close to all the main sites such as the Blue Mosque, Haiga Sophia etc. In a nice quite road. The host Aziz was a very nice helpful guy. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and all have their own bathroom, the rooms are small but everything was spotless and the air con works very well. There is a very small communal seating area but was fine for us. The host left us plates of cheese, meat, fruit and eggs every morning which was great to have before we left for the day. There was fresh bread rolls left at the door on the first morning but on the second morning we were waiting on the bread but there was no sign of it so I just went across to the restaurant (associated with the apartment) and while they had forgotten to deliver the bread they quickly went and got it for us so wasnt a problem. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to other people. The photos on the site need to be updated - currently in the photos the single bed is in a separate room, however when we arrived this single bed was in with one of the double beds. This area is now the seating area with table. Didn't overly bother us but some people might think there is 4 bedrooms, not 3. Booking.com do not make it clear that this accommodation only accepts cash - we got a message from the host a few days beforehand about this. Again not a big deal but we were already travelling so had to withdraw cash from a foreign ATM incurring extra charges. I feel this should be made clear before booking or immediately at booking time. Also there was a random lady who used to come in to the apartment with her own key to do laundry, we felt this was a little invasion of privacy as she would just walk in without at least first knocking on the front door. A word of warning - if you book a transfer or travel by taxi make sure the driver knows the right accommodation address as there is also a hotel of the same name in a totally different area - our driver brought us to this luckily I knew it was the wrong place but it added another half hour and a bit of stress to our journey making sure we were going to the right place.

• Zhao (10/5): Very good - The owner of the hotel is very enthusiastic! Very good service! The facilities inside are also very new and clean! The location is very good, very close to the attractions and the station. It was a pleasant trip.
• Preston (6/5): Overall an okay stay, the place has potential but was not ready for us. - The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the popular attractions. Aziz did his best to help us fix the problems we ran into and was prompt in his response. The restaurant across the street partnered with this apartment was great, I would recommend eating there! The day we were set to arrive and had already left for the airport I contacted Aziz to make sure we were all set, this is when he informed me that they couldn't take credit cards at this time and told me I needed to bring cash. This caused me to have to take cash out of the atm and the rate was terrible, this cost me around an extra 30 euros in exchange fees and inconvenience, no attempt was made to help offset these fees. We were settling into our apartment on the first floor but could not get the hot water (used to heat the apartment and shower) to work. A few things were tried and didn't work, fortunately the apartment the next floor up was available and that worked ok. We were told breakfast was included, but this was a couple platters of fruits, veggies, meat and cheese in our refrigerator with a promise of bread in the morning. We never received any bread. The beds are also oddly short. I'm 6 feet tall (just short of 2 meters) and my ankles hung off the end. In the end, it was an okay stay, but many inconveniences, even though he did his best to fix them, they are things that should be taken care of in advance.

• Armand (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay. A very kind and obliging host. Great location close to the most important monuments - 500 meters from Hagia Sophia, and at the same time in a quiet and peaceful street. Very nice decor, clean, spacious room with comfortable beds, disposable slippers and washing liquids. Delicious breakfast, and in addition, in the morning the host brought fresh bread.
• Hassan (9/5): Loved it - Located in a peaceful, clean and calm neighborhood with all tourist attractions at a walking distance. Public transport is also accessible and eateries can also be found nearby. We rented a complete apartment and enjoyed our space. It's being on a ground floor also helped my family members to get in and out without any fatigue. I would love to book this property again. I cant complete it without mentioning the name of Property owner/Manager Mr. Aziz, an extremely helpful and caring gentlemen. Thumbs up There is always some room for improvement. Since the property doesnt provide buffet breakfast even though when its written on booking the breakfast still remained quite decent and enough. However little more improvement is suggested to make it more consistent in terms of daily items provided and timings.
