Guest Reviews
- Paul (6/5): I think it’s a great for short stay with nice local townships near by. - The Farm Stay house was big and generous for the 8 of us. And the location of the dam and fruit trees was great. The house wasn’t very clean with lots dust and cobwebs on the deck roof and mould on the shower curtains.

- vicky (10/5): -
- Grant (6/5): - Beautiful location and a great building No internet. TVs not connected to anything. Very old and very used cooking implements
- Postcode GREENSLOPES (7/5): A very seduced retreat. - Secluded. Nice to hear the birds in the morning. It is quite seduced up a very steep unsealed track and away from the main premises. Bush toilet was...unique...in the cabin...road a little noisy on the Sunday morning.
- Shellae (6/5): Peaceful getaway - Location-The beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The kitchen facilities were good too. The bed was big and comfortable. The composting toilet is in the same room as the bed.
- andrew (8/5): - Quiet retreat, easy to check in/out. Beautiful property, had a great stay and will likely return. Leaving....
- Loraine (8/5): Beautiful location and felt the peace and serenity of the lush gardens & surrounds. - Beautiful location and gardens so peaceful. The cabin was a little tired and would have appreciated some milk and or a small breakfast pack.
- Angela (8/5): - Location and cabin styling
- Ian (7/5): Enjoyed it notwhithstanding above - Lovely location No glasses for water/drinks and no cups/mugs nor tea/coffee making facilities. Also ceiling very thin as footsteps above floor very loud
- june (9/5): Go there and feel the energy. It’s all you need - Amazing location Felt beautiful Trick question!
- Maree (10/5): Very beautiful and comfortable. We loved it. - Location, size - it was outstanding Step up into toilet. I am only 147cm and 71 years old. The step was too big and so dangerous. There needs to be another step added. There was no working lighter for the gas stove.
- Declan (4/5): - Not sure if it was due to the property or not but we booked the farm house which is advertised for having 4 bedrooms but there were other guests using the downstairs and going into the bedrooms. Became a bit awkward and so the whole party crammed into the second floor to sleep.
- Stephen (8/5): - The grounds are beautiful and the cabins rustic but comfortable.
- Natasha (8/5): -
- Dean (10/5): -
- Sonia (8/5): -
- Keith Langdon (10/5): - We enjoyed the tranquillity.
- Lacey (10/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Elderly Mother & Son - Self checkin is easy lockbox and communication letting you know how to find cabin & access code were clear and easy to follow. The location was amazing near township of Uki & close to pub out amongst nature. The size of log cabin is decent and full size kitchen has everything you need. The aircon works well to cool the cabin down to sleep in rainforest humidity. TV was huge and wifi was high speed. Firepit outside just off the verandah and water option in sink for filtration as the water supply onsite is tank water The step to toilet in bathroom is too high and caused issues. The power went out for approx 1hr and compost toilet started stink out cabin with no staff onsite to assist and a mobile number cant call as no phone reception there with telstra. Other guests came to our cabin worried & concerned about power outage occurring. Im nearly 50 and id would stay again if in the area but my 81yr old mum said step in bathroom was too much for her even with the handrail on wall to aid you especially when power went out and could not see anything. My strong recommend add 2nd step and have Mozzie coils for guests

- Karen (10/5): Perfect nature getaway, surrounded by birds chirping and more trees giving a feeling of calm - Peaceful, beautiful grounds. Well thought out and decorated farm house, modern bathroom with bath, 4 lovely bedrooms and 2 very spacious ones on lower floor with own bathroom. Lounge, kitchen and dining table were great for entertaining and feeding 7 hungry teenagers. Outdoor dining space was huge and you felt you were part of nature! Could do with any ant spray in the kitchen and better internet connection.
- Adriana (9/5): Had a great time - The location, the space and decoration of the cabin, and the outdoor deck
The kitchen was well equipped there were plenty of ants in the kitchen, the fans were quite dusty and with spiderwebs
there wasn't many information on how to use the fans and lights in the deck
- Khosronejad (1/5): I am requesting full refund - Upon arrival, we found the property to be in unacceptable condition and significantly misrepresented from its listing description. The following issues were present:
Major Deficiencies:
∙ The air conditioning system was completely non-functional throughout my stay
∙ Internet/WiFi service was not operational
∙ The property had a persistent, unpleasant odor throughout
Maintenance and Cleanliness Issues:
∙ Extensive insect infestation was present in multiple areas, including the kitchen, bedrooms, and common spaces
∙ Numerous fixtures, appliances, and furnishings were damaged or broken
∙ The overall condition of the property suggests significant deferred maintenance and age-related deterioration
These conditions rendered the property unsuitable for habitation and failed to meet basic standards for a rental accommodation. The issues substantially interfered with our ability to use and enjoy the property as intended.
- Samantha (8/5): -
- Hannelie (9/5): - The cabin was great. Gardens beautifully maintained. Wish we could stay longer We thought that we could eat at the restaurant that night. Unfortunately the restaurant was not operational that night.
We also did not know that we had te pre-order breakfast.
Maybe you could put two stoppers underneath the bed that it does nor slide on the wheels
The light above the bed starts flickering after a little while.
- Seena (8/5): -
- Jason (8/5): Tranquility at its finest , delightful rustic vibe. Cosy and romantic - The bed was comfy , everything we needed was in the cabin, it was private, quiet and the grounds are stunning Nothing it was all good
- Jason (10/5): Little slice of paradise - Amazing place to stay! The grounds are well kept, quiet and relaxing and just stunning
Everything we needed and the serenity was 5 star.
Thank you so much Loved it all!!!
- Leandro (1/5): The stay did not go as expected and we had to leave early, just after the first day. - Nothing, unfortunately, the house was very different from the photos. Two of the four bedrooms had a strong mould smell, the cleaning was terrible, and the condition was not suitable for a family stay. We had to leave after one night due to health and safety concerns. Poor overall maintenance and cleanliness. We had to accommodate 8 people using only part of the house, including sofa beds without proper curtains or privacy. Access to the property is via a narrow bridge with flood risk, which was not mentioned in the listing.
- Angeliqua (10/5): Secluded paradise and abundance of land - Secluded it was a perfect location. Big open spaces of greenery. No Fault.
- Sally (8/5): -
- Hannah (3/5): The ‘compostable toilet’ is just a long drop two metres from the bed, divided by a partial wall that doesn’t stop insect - Nice location and view of Mt Warning from the deck area. A “compost toilet” is different from a long drop. The long drop was inside, 2m away from bed, separated by a partial wall. Some of the louvers in the toilet area wouldn’t fully close, and some wouldn’t re-open once closed. The foul smells from the long drop, coupled with the opening above the shower meant that there was a multitude of of bugs and pests in the bedroom area. The ventilation fan in the shower area did nothing to remove the odour emanating from the long drop which was present for the majority of our stay.
Everything else was maintained to a relatively decent standard, albeit there was dead bugs on the couch and on the floors.
- Thomas (10/5): - Amazing location
- Allen (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful location.
- robyn (8/5): A pleasant self cater in the beautiful Tweed Valley - À confortable canin in a pretty location The property is for sale and what must have been a gorgeous restaurant and kitchen gardens sits unused and unloved- a bit sad
- Ebony (5/5): Beautiful views and cozy stay! - Location was beautiful, view was stunning! Bed was comfy and the place was very cozy. The smell of the toilet was not good. Could smell from the bedroom.
- Jessica (9/5): - Such a beautiful little cabin with great privacy and amazing scenes! Woukd absolutely recommend for a couple getaway. The cabin itself was beautiful Not really a problem but if you don’t like drop toilet it may not be for you. But we didn’t mind!
- Kelly (10/5): Our stay was peaceful bliss. A beautiful view from the balcony and everything you need inside. - Loved the total seclusion and comfort I didn't love the composting toilet
- allyson (1/5): -
- tony (10/5): Would come back any day! - beautiful and appropriate furnishings and fit-out in a stunning rainforest setting. So peaceful and quiet. Just what we needed. The steep stone steps from the deck, whilst looking great, are plain dangerous for anyone descending with balance issues (like me). I nearly fell forward badly twice when descending. A simple handrail would fix it.
- Gippel (7/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Philip (10/5): Bliss - Everything That I don’t live there
- Joshua (8/5): -
- richards (9/5): Beautiful and relaxing getaway. - The location was beautiful, we loved the vegetable gardens and fruit trees. The accommodation was very comfortable and private. It's a shame the restaurant is no longer open and operational as it would have been amazing to have breakfast there.
- Deb (8/5): Lovely quiet spot - The scenery is breathtaking Our aspect was a little dark
- Johnson (2/5): - the toilet smell in the bedroom was bad
- Keating (10/5): Fabulous location. - The peaceful location, grab rails in the bathroom, the layout of the cottage, very clean , comfortable bed Only staying for 1 night.
- Justin (8/5): - AAA+++ Squeaky bed. 🤭
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful - We are return customers and we are never disappointed. The accomodation is always wonderful and the property is beautiful.
- DARREN (8/5): great short stay, beautiful grounds - size and grounds cooking accessories
- Tracy (8/5): Old Dairy review - We loved that the location of the cabins was so peaceful! There was no milk in the fridge to have in tea or coffee.
In past experiences, a small bottle of milk and a jug of cold water has been provided upon arrival.
There were also no sheets provided for the pull out sofa bed.
Apart from that, it was a pleasant experience.
- Chris (6/5): -
- Angela (7/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): A hidden gem! The property is gorgeous and cabins very tasteful & comfortable. - This property was absolutely magical! Self check-in was very easy. Nothing. Everything was excellent.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Felt like we were miles away, but so easy to get to. Location
- Jane (10/5): Lovely place to stay. - Very cosy and comfortable cottage with a stunning garden and lake outlook. Very relaxing. We will be back.
- Mark (8/5): This is a beautiful location, sound and snug, despite the rain outside it was amazing. - The cabin is cosy and perfect for our short get away. Smooth self check in, awesome fittings great bathroom and kitchen. Beautiful gardens, great parking, so quiet. It’s was all very good. The only thing to be done is to replace the roller blind in the kitchen.
- Johnny (7/5): Good - Peaceful location The website stated that the restaurant onsite was open for business, it actually closed a year ago, very run down, we sent an email asking if we could book a table and still waiting for a reply today lol.
- Nicole (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (7/5): Good -
- Lyianne (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (1/5): A disaster and possibly life threatening. - Nothing From the start we couldn’t get in - the main door had expanded from dampness and wouldn’t open. We luckily found a side door that would open. No staff on site for our entire stay. On the second day we were caught in a storm and soaked through. We were cold so lit a gas fire. After a while an alarm went off. It stopped after a minute or so.
It went off again and we put it down to a fault. There were obviously problems with the electrics in the property- the outside lights for example wouldn’t switch off.
The alarm went off in the night and woke us up. It carried on for ten minutes or more, with lights flashing and the main lights in the common area also flashing on and off. I believe It is a carbon monoxide alarm and the gas fire isn’t correctly ventilated.
Attempts to contact the property owners wee unsuccessful and so we left after two nights although we had paid for three. Apart from not wanting another nights sleep interrupted I believe there was a build up of carbon monoxide making it highly dangerous.
The owners didn’t respond until late afternoon that day. They refused to refund the cost of the night’s stay we lost and deny there is a problem.
I reported the problem to booking.com who tried to contact the owners but after four days the owners failed to respond to their phone calls or emails. Booking.com have given us a refund themselves of a third of the cost of the lost night as a goodwill gesture.
Another problem was that although advertised as having a restaurant there isn’t one - it closed down last year. It is still advertised on their website as having one. Look under Farmhouse (which we rented).
- Leonie (10/5): Absolutely great - Homely quite relaxing peaceful Nothing very thing great
- Ian (8/5): Very relaxing. - Spacious cabin and luxurious gardens There were a few hints that the place has passed its heyday e.g. the restaurant etc sitting idle and the curtains might need a clean.
- Hi-fish (6/5): Pleasant - Not a good experience. Pre check-in messages seemed automated hence not answering our questions at first. Self check-in did work well at the end. The cabin itself was OK, however the equipment was very poor, especially in regards to its price. Frying pan in bad shape, cooking hood with defective light, worn through mozzie net, TV connexion issues. It is only upon arrival that one discovers the "flood emergency kit".(locked). Very disappointing, especially for this price segment.
- Lindell (7/5): Private cabin nestled in natural beauty - Quaint cabin nestled in nature Restaurant wasn’t open Mondays and shut at 3pm
- Das-avatar (7/5): Good -
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Russell (7/5): Good -
- Nicole (8/5): Very good -
- Rodney (8/5): A nice place to stay - old farm buildings redone as comfortable accommodation. Nice location - A nice refurbished farm building, comfortable and picturesque All was fine
- Agarwal (9/5): Superb - Ambience Washroom was gross cockroaches on toilet seat
- Dominique (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bryce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (6/5): Beautiful property shame about the upkeep of the accomodation. - Beautiful gardens, large open areas. Upon arrival staying in the Old Dairy Cottage we a had dead moth and other dead insects on the bed sheets. The kitchen lights did not work, the ceiling fans worked in lounge room but the sound and mad wobble made us feel it was dangerous. A nice portion of the outside patio floor was covered in moss. The inside floors were all very worn old concrete. The photos shown on Booking.com were not a true reflection of this place. Feel pretty ripped off paying $270 a night here.
- Cath (9/5): Relaxing and togetherness in paradise of Mt Warning area - The character of the cottage was gorgeous, as is the property itself. And being able to go out into the kitchen garden and pick some tomatoes and basil was special. Grateful for the air conditioning. And swimming spots in the creek! It was entirely what we needed travelling at Christmas - New Year with our dog. A larger bed would have been more ideal. There is enough space in the room.
- Hayley (4/5): Disappointing - Nature
Gorgeous property
Wood cabin
Welcome wine
Tea and coffee facilities
Comfy bed
Great lighting Property needs a little TLC
Long drop toilet
Not extremely safe for dogs, keep them on the lead due to snakes
No dish washer
Some of the chairs were rotting and wood needed replacing
- Abbey (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, lovely grounds, comfortable and charming. We stayed in the Old Dairy which was spacious and well-equipped. The bathroom is the standout. Recommend!
- Tom (3/5): Poor - The cabin was clean. The drive up to the cabin was poorly maintained and not a great experience if not in 4x4. Any view of Mount Warning obscured by vegetation.
Biggest drawback was the drop toilet in the ensuite. The smell was pretty revolting and permeated the whole bedroom / cabin. A very poor experience.
- Belkis (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teri-ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (10/5): We would definitely revisit. - Location was peaceful, plenty of space to roam around. The room and facilities were very comfortable. The composting toilet was a novel surprise but seemed very effective. The lighting could have been brighter but that’s all. The stove wouldn’t ignite but an electric lighter was provided the next day.
- Emma (10/5): Beautiful location and well kept grounds. Kids loved exploring the garden. - Beautiful location and well kept grounds. Kids loved exploring the garden. Na
- Rashmi (3/5): Very uncomfortable. There were lots of cockroaches spiders ect - Nothing Everything
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful grounds and the cabin exceeded our expectations. - Stunning location! The Queen Cabin (Snug) was larger than expected. It had everything we needed. Our grandson loved the outdoor bath. We really couldn’t fault our stay. The grounds are beautifully kept. We had a lovely morning walk around the property and gardens and the small playground was another hit with our grandson. Everything was great!
- Chrissy (7/5): It was pleasant, but I was disappointed the restaurant has closed - I had seen the property and friends had stayed there a lot before the log cabin we stayed in was very nice. It would’ve been great if they had been in a pod. Coffee machine, and regular breakfast bowls as I took cereal but didn’t find anything to put it in. It was disappointing that we didn’t know that Mavis‘s kitchen is now closed no dinner or breakfast that was one of the main reasons we went, but didn’t see when booking, but it has now closed. I did look on the website but it’s in fine print right at the end of the page there was nobody around no staff no other people a little bit like a ghost town. The property is lovely. Just a shame about the restaurant closing. There is nothing else on offer just a place to sleep.
- Leyton (9/5): Superb -
- Susan (9/5): Lovely, peaceful night away. - Stayed in the Log Cabin with our dog and we all loved it. Wide open spaces everywhery but nice and private at our cabin. The step down from the toilet is really, really dangerous. Should install a sturdy grab rail.
- Seth (1/5): Bad -
- Mooney21 (6/5): Underwhelming rainforest stay - Cabin is set on a large grassy property with rainforest plantings, a large pond and surrounded by native rainforest. We'll equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting area and sunny verandah Traffic noise on nearby road, lots of dust around bedhead (bad for asthmatic); large step up to toilet in bathroom ( dangerous stepping down at night);
creaky bed when turning over at night; very poor communication from owners - they cancelled my initial booking, requested payment information which was already supplied at booking by Booking .com, didn't acknowledge subsequent email providing said information. I had the feeling of absentee owners.
- Rajbir (3/5): Poor -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chirag (10/5): Worth it, loved it, enjoyed it. - The amenities & lush green garden were top notch. Consideration towards environmental conversation is admiring. Composting is a very good initiative. Nothing
