Guest Reviews
- Guest (7/5): - The location was exceptional. Saw wildlife right from the room. Bathroom was great and liked the kitchen. Pool and pool area was great. Attendand did not meet us upon arrival as stated in contract, Wifi ID and passwords were wrong, so had no wifi, Fan is worn out and makes tumping sound - could not sleep with fan on. Took over 20 rings before the site manager would answer the phone. There was no laundry even though the contract claimed there was.

- MAC (5/5): Did not like it.
- Marisa (10/5): Exceptional - The 3 bedroom villa was perfect for our family of 6. Very comfortable, great location and the owners were very attentive to everything we needed.
- Melanie (1/5): This place is the worst! - Nothing, this place is a health concern. The common area has such large gaps between the bars your child could fall through and die. This place had mold and feces in our room. I emailed booking and the property owner and have been ignored. We had to find another room and pay for it and then haven’t been reimbursed for the change. Everything, it’s a disaster. The staff didn’t speak English, they took us to the wrong room, made us leave 8 hours later and then a few dash of arguing with the owner he told me to get the fuck out, his exact words and he was calling the cops. I have message proof of all this. Would sure be nice if I could get some help. This host was racist, disgusting, and shouldn’t be allowed to list properties. I sure hope booking does something after I spent thousands on my vacation.
- Raeanne (10/5): Excellent Value close to everything - This property was amazing. Clean. White towels and sheets impeccable. We had everything we needed and Heidy was wonderful! Thank you for the lovely gift basket too!
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (8/5): The house is great for a family with a quiet, flexible location. - The house is up a quiet road which is nice. It was great for my family with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a beautiful courtyard with a pool and is well kept. We saw some wonderful birds and wildlife from the back patio which was neat for people who aren't used to seeing things like toucans in the wild.
It is relatively close to a bus stop that will take you down to Manuel Antonio or up to Quepos for about 75 cents. The only problem with the walk to the bus stop is that for a short period you are walking along a very busy road with no sidewalk. Additionally, Uber is relatively inexpensive to take from the house to various places within the community. There is no food really within walking distance of the house. However, we found it easy enough to hop on the bus, get off by a restaurant, eat, and then take the bus back home.
I also like to have a bit more information before I arrive. I would have found it useful to have a better sense of where we should be checking in because we kind of just went to the address we had and hoped we were in the right place. Additionally, I arranged for shuttle transportation back to the airport through Jungle Creek but the lack of specifics that I was provided with were hard for me. I wanted a confirmed pickup time weeks in advance and was only given one the day before when I asked again.
- Heather (10/5): A great stay in a beautiful spot - A beautiful location and Heidy was extremely helpful. The air conditioning was very efficient as it was very hot and humid
- Meredyth (6/5): Pleasant - Great location, surrounded by jungle. The villa has plenty of space. The rooms and sheets smelled strongly of mildew, like they hadn't been fully dried in the dryer.
- Nicole (10/5): We will be back!! - Great staff and location. Room was comfortable with everything we needed. The setting is quiet yet just a short walk to the main road so bus was easily accessible.
- Tamara (9/5): Superb - The place was big Wish it was closer to the beach
- Asaf (9/5): Superb - It’s a great place to stay with everything inside
You can cook almost everything
- Emily (6/5): We enjoyed our stay, but do feel for the money we could have maybe spent a little more and had a place with more comfort - The property grounds are very pretty. Laundry with a dryer was definitely a plus for us! The location is easy to get uber or taxi in to town. The villa itself is dated. The beds are not very comfortable and the sitting area is very small with comfortable seating for 2. There is an air unit in each bedroom and fans in other areas. The villa kept a stale smell especially in the bathroom. Not ideal if you have any issue with lifting heavy luggage up and down many stairs. We didn’t have an issue with that but can see that it could be a problem for some.
- Tadd (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location, clean and comfortable facilities. Wonderful place to stay for a family.
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable and spacious. Plenty of room for a family of 5!
Kitchens was stocked well and we had fun preparing our food. The welcome treat bag was delicious!
Shower was big and fun :)
- James (8/5): Would have been great but night construction on site a bummer. - Loved the property's eclectic layout and setting (neighborhood of homes set in the jungle. Great location close to everthing. ) Nice small community pool / sitting area. Heidi the manager was helpful and attentive, Sunday evening after out arrival was a great experience enjoying the sounds of the surrounding jungle at night. Come Monday there was construction occurring on the property directly next-door (property was connected to Jungle Creek as workers came to and thro from Jungle Creek to the home) the work involved metal cutting, hammering and drilling. On Tuesday evening I had had enough, finally had to say something at 10:15 PM to get them to stop. Really a downer on our experience there. Would have made different arrangements if I had been told before arriving (and again Jungle Creek was connected to the work being done). No biggie but was expecting a welcome arrival basket with coffee /snacks per other reviews but nothing, had to ask for coffee in the morning. Booked for five adults but only towels, cups/ kitchenware for four.
- Nancy (8/5): It is a lovely location nesseled in the jungle. Lots of outdoor space to sit and admire your surroundings. A short drive - The property was amerced in nature. We saw some beautiful birds, butterflies and our neighbours saw a Sloth in a tree. They communicated very well with us and provided us with a yoga mat and extra towels when needed. The place is very clean but a tiny bit dated. Lovely gift basket was a nice touch. Unfortunately it rained constantly during our 4 night stay. It rained so hard that it was leaking at several locations on the porch so our feet were always wet. The sound of the constant rain on the tin roof got to us after a few days. This was no fault of the property.
- Pedja (9/5): Superb -
- Serena (9/5): Superb - We loved our stay at Jungle Creek. Heidy met us to give us the keys and show us around, and gave us loads of helpful information. We also really appreciated the welcome basket. The accommodation was spacious - two double beds, kitchen, living room, huge bathroom and outdoor seating. We swam in the pool a couple of times which was wonderfully refreshing after a day in the heat. It really felt like we were in the middle of the jungle. There's no breakfast but the kitchen is well equipped to make your own. We weren't that organised though so took a lovely short walk to a nearby hotel with a restaurant in the mornings to get breakfast. The location is a little out of town, and we didn't have a car, so used buses and taxis to get to the centre of Manuel Antonio, but that wasn't a problem. Heidy gave us the number of a taxi driver so we were easily able to get to where we needed to be. We loved our stay at Jungle Creek and would happily return. The only thing that would have been useful is instructions for the coffee maker as we struggled to make it work!
- Cardenas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alka (10/5): Beautiful location to experience tropical Costa Rica - We had the villa with the three bedrooms and this was spacious, clean and well stocked with all amenities. Loved the pool( that was private and clean) and the sit out area. Saw and heard lots of birds and even saw a green iguana in the trees. Close to restaurants( could walk to some but we mainly drove). Heidy , manager, was very responsive in all communication and the tours that we arranged were excellent. Loved the sound of rain drumming on the roof! Nothing really!
Given our villa was right next to the pool, at times , we did have to lower our blinds for privacy. I would have like a bit more light in the living room ( maybe brighter lights?).
Also, for those who have not previously travelled to tropical countries, good to know that ants may show up to feast on sweet foods/ crumbs left around!
- Joseph (8/5): Great jungle getaway, spacious accommodations - The location was great. Very close to the bus stop, but tucked away on a side street. The pool was nice and the upstairs patio too. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. We were able to do laundry. The place is a short ride to lots of local destinations and you can walk 20 mins to the small beach past Ronny’s place (but it’s hilly so wear shoes). You can access the jungle path to El Salto waterfall which was a great adventure. The mono lodge was big enough for 4 people. All of the tour operators picked us up and dropped us off no problem. One of the pool chairs was broken. The main road can be intimidating on foot because there is traffic and no shoulder or sidewalk.
- Tiffany (10/5): Relaxing pool/deck area, spacious unit and helpful Heidi made our stay great ! - The welcome basket was a very nice touch after a long drive to the property. Heidi was amazing! Her response time was lightning quick and she assisted us with excursions. Unit was clean and plenty of space for a family of 6. Nothing comes to mind.
- Lock (9/5): Superb - Comfortable beds, plenty of equipment in the kitchen and good air conditioning made for a very comfortable stay.
It was close enough to MA park to make it easy but far enough from the crowds to be relaxing.
Also 30 min to Rainmaker park which has canopy bridges and beautiful waterfalls to clamber into.
- Maggie (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great stay at Jungle a creek and would happily stay there again. We’ll definitely be recommending this villa to our friends. The location was perfect between MA and Q, and the park. Although small, the pool was perfect for the kids. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was amazing. We (1 adult, 3 kids) rented a two bedroom with lots of private outdoor space. The bathroom and kitchen were huge and clean.
- Leann (10/5): Exceptional - This place was close to everything in Manuel Antonio. Heidy checked us in and had great recommendations nearby. The pool was also nice to have. We were able to see Howler Monkeys while we were swimming.
- Arnaud (9/5): Superb - size of the room, all equiped
swimming pool
garden, like in the jungle
a lot of wild life around like parrots difficult to access if you don't have a car
- Koreen (10/5): Good times at Jungle Creek! - We loved having a kitchen, the sitting area by the pool and comfortable beds. The staff was amazing! Heidy was incredibly helpful whenever we had questions.
- Jillian (10/5): Jungle creek was a very pleasant lodge - The property was very well equipped. We loved all the extra touches like coffee, tea, paper towels and the pineapple was sooo good!! Would have been nice to have a towel set (bath, hand & wash) per person.
- Tara (7/5): Good - Nice sized apartment and can see plenty of wildlife. Woken up by monkeys one morning.
Manuel Antonio is stunning. Really need to get a taxi everywhere. We love walking but main road not suitable for walking so even to go to a restaurant you need a taxi!
There is a bus along the main road but even the short walk to the bus stop didn't feel safe for a child especially when dark.
Would have been helpful to have information about the National park given to us. How to book tickets and the rules etc. We nearly missed out as first day we planned to go into the park was sold out so we only ended up with one day in there (we'd planned for 2)
- Anna (9/5): Nice and calm stay - We enjoyed our stay in this villa. It’s one room but pretty big, sunny, and comfortable. You can find here really huge bed, sofa, couple of armchairs, dining table, fully equipped kitchen; for cooling down there are 2 ceiling fans and AC, bathroom with everything you may need (hairdryer and washing supplies). Big plus for us - this property has laundry and parking place. Also you may find here some common place with swimming pool, grills and tables to chill out. The road to the property (last 100 meters) is not great but doable as I think with any type of car. Overall we recommend this place for a nice and calm stay. You may feel here as at home. We had some problems with the night tour that can be bought at this property, but Heidy did all her best to manage that. The problem with AC was handled super fast.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hitchcock (10/5): Exceptional - Had a great stay Nothing
- Therese (8/5): Very good - Lovely pool and grounds with scarlet macaws and toucans as regular visitors. The free laundry facilities were so appreciated! Excellent staff.
- Wenmin (10/5): Exceptional - I like the spacious room, quiet villa, free sodas, and welcoming basket. I liked everything. None
- Robert (10/5): Jungle Creek is a wonderful place for short or long stays in the area. Very comfortable and inviting - Gecko was the perfect size villa for us. Very comfortable bed, functional kitchen a great shower. Sitting out by the big table every morning enjoying Costa Rican coffee listening to the birds was a real treat. Late afternoon glass of chatting with other guests was great fun. Easy to get to Manuel Antonio and Quepos. Perhaps the best was Heidi. She was extremely helpful in setting up reservation for our 50th anniversary dinner at a fabulous restaurant very near by. She also helped arrange great tours for us. Heidi is awesome. If there is anything to nit pick it would be no English language TV channels but we were in a Spanish speaking country.
- Felipe (10/5): Exceptional - Stayed in the largest home of the villa and was amazing. Very well taken care of! Clean and well equipped! Great for bug groups!
Very close to everything!
- Amy (10/5): Great place for a family to stay in the jungle. - This apartment was clean, spacious, and private. It is tucked into the jungle along with other private homes and rentals. Excellent value. The BEST thing is the property manager Heidy did so much for us in advance and while we were there. She really made the trip for us. Nothing - the place was so nice and much less expensive than a hotel or resort.
- James (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): Incredible property! Quiet, clean, perfect setting to relax in Manuel Antonio. 100% recommend staying here for anyone in - The room was exactly as described with great amenities including a shared pool. The property had a real home comfort about it that allowed you to really relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Manuel Antonio. Our host, Heidy, was amazing, helping to sort everything we needed from transportation to Mangrove Kayak tour and even a late check out.
- Lee (10/5): Magical experience! - The rooms were so spacious and the bed was a huge comfy king size! You had all the kitchen utensils you could need, even tupperware for taking snacks or sandwiches to the beach. We received a small welcome hamper with a few snacks and coffee. The coffee is exceptional! You can purchase more from Heidi as I guarantee you'll run out! Heidi was a great host and always available with any questions we might have. She also booked a couple of tours for us! Manuel Antonio is not great for walking around it's so humid and hilly. There was a bus stop around 200 metres from the end of the road, it cost around 65p per person to the beach each way. We also found uber a really cheap way to get around however you did have to pay extra for uber priority for a driver to accept you. This still worked out 1/4 of the price of the local red taxis at around £2.50 each way. Jungle Creek was also the best place to spot red parrots, toucans and squirrel monkeys. We had a truly magical experience and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again! I liked everything!
- Jenny (7/5): It was ok - Comfortable beds. Heidy was lovely and helpful Not near anything if you don’t have a car. Spent a fair bit of money on taxis
- Blanca (9/5): Very Comfortable and close to nature - It was comfortable, quiet, close to nature, well equipped. Our apartment was in the lower label, so it was cooler. Close to the nicest areas and restaurants in Manuel Antonio, yet away enough from the main road that it felt like been in the jungle. The pool was a bit small, not really for swimming.
- Alonso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joel (8/5): Very good - Very nice place to stay and watch animals nearby.
- Anna (10/5): Wonderful place - would choose again - Amazing place! Spacious, comfortable, beautiful views. Bedrooms with a/c. Not an option without car. You cant walk to the beach from villa. 1 bathroom only.
- Liesbeth (7/5): Nice spacious villa - The villa is spacious and has everything you need. A comfortable bed and great water pressure! The patio has a nice view of the trees, many birds. The pool is a nice cool down at the end of the day. The ability to do laundry is great and we appreciated the welcome basket! We had unlucky timing. It was not a quiet retreat when we were there. Loud families and construction. It’s not in the middle of nowhere, many properties around, so it was quite crowded.
- Elena (9/5): A lovely stay at Jungle Creek! - A very spacious accomodation with a fully equipped kitchen! /
- Matthew (10/5): The best experience of my entire life highly recommended - If you wanted to do any of the excursions, al you had to do was send Paula a message. She would then book for you, everything was super organized and so easy i can not wait to go back now! I can honestly say there was actually nothing I didnt absolutely love about this place. You truly came as guests and left as friends
- Marie-louise (9/5): The place was beautiful and clean. Hearing and seeing beautiful animals all the time on property. -
- Mark (8/5): A great base to explore Manuel Antonio Park and surrounding area. - Great location, nice BBQ area to cook and relax after a day out. Great having a pool to cool off in and relax. One of the dogs barking at night and the early hours of the morning, otherwise very good.
- Julian (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (10/5): Jungle Creek was exceptionally nice and comfortable, exceeded our expectations. - We liked the clean and spacious accommodation. Our studio was well equipped, large fridge, toaster oven, coffee machine and microwave. The shared bbq was spotless. The pool and patio were clean and well maintained. There is lots of outdoor space, the patio has various chairs and loungers for guests. Prior to our arrival and during our stay the owner was very helpful with lots of communication and suggestions to enhance our stay. Nothing?
- Cassandra (10/5): Beautiful and Comfortable Stay - This property is beautiful! We woke up every morning to different wildlife and nature sounds. Paula is an amazing host, and was always helpful if we needed anything. I would definitely stay here again.
- Kernisanworth (7/5): Spacious apartment with jungle view and very helpful host - Full kitchen and very large bathroom with two sinks and two showers. Gate covered the patio, which may be necessary due to monkeys, but detracted from the ambience.
- Carol (10/5): Exceptional holiday rental - the owners know what works - Truly exceptional. We stayed in Gekko - lots of space, immaculately clean, the bed was the most comfortable on all our travels this vacation. Welcome basket with great coffee and snacks, the information brochure was the best I have ever seen - pool was lovely and refreshing. The jungle setting is wonderful - I highly recommend
- Guy (10/5): Exceptional - The best villa in central america!
- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- Tabatha (10/5): great place - location nothing
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional - My fiancé and I had an exceptional time at Jungle Creek Villas. We didn’t even have to go travel into the National Parks to see any of the wildlife. It was all right on our doorstep from the patio. Paula was amazing with her communication and made us feel right at home. We will most definitely be coming back in the future!
- Mariel (8/5): Very good -
- Joyce (9/5): Superb -
- Pippa (9/5): Great stay - Loved the welcome we received from Paula and her dogs! The pool area and rooms were great. The listing said it had a balcony but it didn't.
- André (9/5): A wonderful small jumble of great villas, out of the way, in the jungle, with a super helpful owner. - Kitchen well equipped, made our own breakfast. Morning coffee or end of day apéro taken on the terrace, straight over the creek and, well, the jungle! With a constant musical accompaniment of cicadas, birds of all types and howler monkeys. Paula’s recommendations for dinner and activities were top notch. Free access to laundry equipment was a lifesaver.
- Janet (9/5): A quiet, beautiful stay in a jungle paradise! - We loved the beautiful grounds and seeing monkeys, sloths and scarlet macaws from our patio! Paula was a wonderful host. She went above and beyond - beautiful gift basket upon arrival, always available for questions and suggestions and extremely helpful when booking excursions! The living room space in our suite was a bit small, but we were still comfortable.
