• Houssam (10/5): A charming and authentic stay with exceptional hospitality and one of the best breakfasts I had in Albania. - Everything. The guesthouse had a very authentic and cozy atmosphere, which made my stay in Gjirokastër feel even more special. The location was great, close to the old town and within walking distance of the main attractions, while still being peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming throughout my stay, they did not hesitate to take their car and give me a drive to the bus station when I needed to leave. I especially loved the terrace. Breakfast was excellent, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and there was plenty of variety. Best breakfast I had in Albania. No complaints at all. Honestly, nothing significant. I had a great experience overall. The walk up to the guesthouse is quite steep, but that’s part of Gjirokastër’s geography rather than an issue with the property itself.

Das Zimmer war riesig groß und mit viele Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück auf der wunderschönen Terrasse war hervorragend. Jederzeit wieder! Die Anfahrt ist sehr sehr abenteuerlich, aber wenn man es geschafft hat gibt es einen kostenlosen Parkplatz. 10/10!

• MAHDPIBKA (10/5): - Kore Guest House is conveniently located next to the bazaar and the main two museums of the city. It's very close to the castle. Upon our arrival, we were cordially greeted by the owners - Matilda and Lorence. Lorence even helped us to park our car in their backyard. Every morning we were treated to a generous breakfast prepared by Matilda's Mom, a kind and friendly woman, who served it in their yard overlooking the beautiful panorama of Gjirokaster.

En plein centre touristique mais place pour garer la voiture, vraiment parfait pour visiter. Super accueil de la famille et petit déjeuner traditionnel servi en terrasse copieux (trop ?). Pour arriver, ne pas faire confiance au GPS qui vous envoie dans le bazar : passer par la rue qui est juste sous le château et au dessus de la mosquée (finir par 20 mètres de sens interdit que tout le monde prend...).

• Chandan Suar (10/5): Warm Hospitality in the Heart of Gjirokastër - We had a wonderful stay at this homestay near the Old Bazaar in Gjirokastër. The location was perfect — everything was nearby and easy to explore on foot. The family was incredibly welcoming, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. We initially had trouble finding the place, and they personally came to guide us and helped us drive to the property, which we really appreciated. They made us feel completely at home, more like staying with family than at a hotel. The breakfast on the terrace with the beautiful castle view was absolutely amazing and made our mornings even more special. Their hospitality was truly unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gjirokastër!

The breakfast also was good. The building itself and the rooms are dated but comfortable, whereas the bathroom appears to have been built in recent years. There is really nothing to complain about — there is no view from the room, but there is from the terrace right above.

La stanza è piccola ma comoda, arredata con gusto, con il frigorifero ed un buon bagno. Andate tranquilli, è un’ottima soluzione. I letti molto bassi non aiutano le persone anziane.

Tienen parking. El desayuno en la terraza estuvo muy bien. Llegar con el coche fue horrible por las calles empedradas, estrechas y cuesta arriba. Sufrimos bastante.

De locatie is 10/10 omgeven door allemaal gezellige straatjes en restaurantjes. Het ontbijt was super vers en lekker en ze houden rekening met al je noden waaronder vragen hoe het met je gaat en wat je allemaal gaat doen tijdens je verblijf hier. Si je devais juste dire quelque chose et donner un conseil c'est de mettre un rideau occultant sur la fenêtre de la chambre située à côté de la salle de bain, car des que le jour se lève soit à 6h30-7h sur cette période d'été, la chambre est pleinement éclairée.

The room was authentic with a lovely modern bathroom. It was easy to navigate too and the parking was spacious and free. The host and her parents were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was incredibly generous, delicious and definitely enough to set you up for a day of adventuring. Cannot recommend this place more!! Nothing, it was perfect.

La dueña del guesthouse fue muy amable, ofreciéndonos ayuda con todo y aconsejándonos sobre los sitios a visitar. Incluso el último día nos ofreció la posibilidad de dejar el coche en la zona de parking del alojamiento por más tiempo. El desayuno es excelente, abundante y, lo mejor de todo, elaborado de forma casera. En nuestra habitación, la ventana no podía abrirse por lo que, como punto de mejora, sería genial que se reformase para poder tener luz natural.
