Guest Reviews
- Andrei (8/5): - All great apart from location - a bit hard to find Hard to find
- Aleksandr (10/5): - Feels like home when visiting grandma. Garden view and blooming trees smell fulfilling the room. Amazing
- mehmood (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): Parfait! - Coin tranquille et propriétaires adorables
- Lorenc (7/5): -
- Raquel (10/5): - La tranquilidad del barrio
- Donald (10/5): - The host really went out of her way to accommodate me. Gave me fresh vegetables from her garden, chicken eggs. She also cooked numerous meals for me.
Exceptional stay.
- HAERUL (1/5): - Just the spacious. I rented a whole apartment or one level of house inside included 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and a kitchen. The owner is an old lady who is grumpy and telling you what to do every time she will be pretending like your bad grandma who is watching every step of stay in the house. She scolded me for using all the rooms, which is funny i paid for the whole apartment i can sleep anywhere and use everything inside. She kept interrogating me because i brought a friend for a visit. She woke up at night and watched you from a balcony. And it was not even 10 am check out time she already knocked loudly on the door telling you that she will clean the apartment now. So basically you will have no right or whatsoever and for sure no privacy even though you paid for it, she will make sure your stay being guarded like a mom or grandma to their teenager. If you want an calm and peace and privacy stay, please avoid this place, i dont normally give reviews even though my stay was bad. But this time is really really bad that i cannot just slide it.

- Kate (9/5): Great overnight place in Tirana - Very nice and friendly house owners, the flat is located not that far away from the city center, everything was clean and ready for my arrival Be prepared that the toilet and the shower are located outside of the room, you need to walk a bit. I did not know that and was a bit surprised but luckily 1) it is still summer 2) no one occupied the shower
- Rasa Rosalia (10/5): -
- Aleksandra (7/5): Für 1-2 Nächte sehr gut geeignet. - Sehr nette und freundliche Gastgeber.
- ELVIRA (10/5): Lovely stay - The host is such a lovely lady, she reminded me so much of my own grandma. Always warm, caring, and ready to make sure I had everything I needed. She even offered me homemade coffee, and fresh fruit from her garden, which made me feel so at home.
The apartment was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a full kitchen and washing machine that made my stay so easy. The area was peaceful yet close to everything, shops, cafes, and bakeries just a short walk away. Great value for money.

- Povilas (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place to stay! :) very kind administrator. She gave me som home grown vegedables :)
- Michael (10/5): Lovely peaceful place to stay - I loved staying here. The garden with its vines and fruit is lovely. The lady was very friendly. Good cooking facilities. It's in a quiet area, which is a good thing. It's about 25 minutes walk from the centre, but that's actually a good thing, as the centre is so noisy at night!
- Armen (8/5): Very good -
- Yasir (8/5): Excellent stay. The host was welcoming and attentive. The room was spotless and very comfortable. - Beautiful Garden Distance from city centre
- Miles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katja (10/5): Exceptional - This place is a definition of great hospitality. Everything is amazing - the garden, the room, quiet location, welcome coffee, and last but not least, the owner. She is so sweet and you can see she is proud of this place. Everything is clean, smells nice, and I felt like home. Thank you so much for everything, and if I revisit Tirana in the future, it will be my pleasure to stay here again. The bathroom and shower are outside, so it can be a bit annoying at night, but overall the place is great.
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Dr (10/5): Wonderful holiday - Everything Nothing
- Dr (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Very well. Everything
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Alf (7/5): Good - Tricky to find, but worth the effort. Wonderful slightly older cople,
like me, growing kiwies, oranges ++. The traffic in Albania is not there fault. In general, Traffic in Albania is a disaster, and eaven a Mercedes 500 SLE smell Putin crued oil. And all under 70 is permanently only focused on the smartphone. 0
- Pawel (9/5): Superb -
- Prince (8/5): Very good -
- 李枝 (10/5): amaging! - madame and monseieur are very kind!
really beautiful garden.
- Artan (9/5): Great stay. I couldn’t fault this place. The money I paid was money well spent. Great hosts - Very nice hosts. The accommodation was comfortable and definitely very good value for your money. NA
- Clark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicky (10/5): Great place to be with amazing garden - The owners were extremely nice and hospitable and it was a great experience getting to know a little bit about their life and family. The apartment I was occupying was nice and simple, it had everything needed and was very clean. There was also a little table outside where you could enjoy the amazing garden. There was no noise and it was so quiet that it did not seem to be in Tirana. Everything excellent
- Marcus (4/5): Disappointing - Clean The owner wasn't happy that i used the air-conditioner although it is included in my booking.
- Marcus (4/5): Disappointing - Clean The owner wasn't happy that i turned on the aircondioner for an hour. I had to turn it off.
- Anton (10/5): Exceptional - Nice family. Very friendly. Clean room and have kitchen, around 30 min walks from city centre and price was good. Family gave me any fresh fruits from them garden. Very delicious.
- Leila (9/5): Superb - The lady who greeted me was so lovely, the property is cute with a little garden outside and got facilities inside the property like kitchen wise It was a little bit far from the centre had to walk 15 mins to any shop near, the bathroom with shower was outside didn’t really bother me as it is quite and peaceful outside
- Giova (6/5): Average - Quiet Old
- Huei (10/5): Good value - The hostess is a very warm and kind lady. She gave me some home-grown vegetables and fruit. I’m so thankful. This guest house has a huge garden so it made the hot summer temperature a bit cooler. the neighborhood is also very quiet. There are a lot of groceries shops and supermarkets around so shopping is no problem. The kitchen facilities are a little basic, but good enough for my need. Staying here is of high value, and I highly recommend it to any traveler to Tinara..
- Elaine (9/5): Friendly host, clean and good location for local shops - The gardens were absolutely amazing with chickens at the back of the apartment but you were unaware of them unless you went round to see them. It was very spacious with a fully functioning kitchen. There were lots of extras in the kitchen such as fresh eggs, oil etc which you could use at a small cost, which was all clearly marked, and cold drinks in the fridge which were welcome after a long journey. Nothing
- Jan (10/5): Super cute and helpful hosts, I recommend! - Clean and spacious
- M (10/5): Exceptional - amazing and respectful lady location
- Zuzana (8/5): Very good -
- Elettra (10/5): A green oasis in the chaos of Tirana! - You can really enjoy the green and the quiet of this place, while still being a 30-minute-walk away from the center. There’s a little kitchen and the owners gave us a fresh and delicious cucumber to eat, snatchin it directly from the garden. They also offered coffee and tea right at our arrival, in the very welcoming spirit of albanian hospitality! As well as fresh blackberries and figs! The bathroom was outside the house (but it was private of ours exclusively)
- Kao-na (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michał (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely house, beautiful garden, the room totally exceeded my expactations. Very clean, very spacious. Easy to find. Good and safe location.
The owners don’t speak english but it wasn’t a problem at all:) They were so nice and helpfull.
If I ever come back to Tirana I’d love to stay at your place.
- Mark (10/5): Wonderful garden-setting homestay - Extremely comfortable. Lovely garden setting. Communal kitchen facilities. Great privacy. Very friendly host couple who are happy to help out in any way. Would be nice to be a bit closer to the centre of the city. About a 30 minute walk which isn't too bad, but can be pretty tiring in the heat of the day.
- Constantin (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts are amazing, the place is spacious and incredibly clean
- Toni (10/5): Exceptional - Everything
- Daniele (10/5): Ideal to visit Tirana - We booked it as we had a flight in the evening and for this price we could leave our luggage and refresh us before going home. It was well situated to go on foot to the center of Tirana. The owners were super friendly and invited us for a cup of tea and cake. They are an older couple that don’t speak English but we could understand each other. We parked the car in front of the door. They have a nice garden. Nothing
- Oksana (9/5): Superb - It's a comfortable place with a kitchenette, not in the city center, but good value for money.
- Bilal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - Everything❤️Oaza in Tirana❤️
- Carlo (10/5): Great stay! - The hosting family is very kind. So much so that I was even invited for lunch!
The room is clean and spacious, with a kitchen included. Although the bathroom is outside. The house is relatively close to the town center, located at about 30 minutes walk from Skanderbeg Square.
- Hind (8/5): Very good -
- Botalla (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything, this place is a little oasis:D
The hosts are super kind, they speak Little english but they make sure that you have everything you need. Great hospitality.
- Roberto (7/5): Good - Beautiful garden and very nice couple Not easy to find and is good for people with own trasport
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diego (8/5): Pleasant for an affordable price - The garden, with orange trees and some lemon tree, vineyard... quite enjoyable.
The matresses are really good. Sonce it's like 15 min. walk from the city center, and it's probably the quietest area in town.
The only thing is that the pavement of Grameno street (well, almost all pavements in Tirana actually) are damaged and/or are very narrow, so if you bring a suitcase (not my particular case) you will find it hard to drag your suitcase all along the road. In the winter, even though Albania climate is mild, it gets a bit cold at night. You can set the air conditioned temperature higher though, and keep it on during the night. However, I recommend to place the pillow on the other side of the bed, the one that is perpendicular to the entrance door. This way you won't get the air straight away on your head, which is somewhat disturbing and you can even fall sick.
The studio-apartment was clean. However, I'd suggest the owner to have a look inside the oven.
- Fredrick (9/5): Overall a nice stay, amazing people who greeted and assisted me during my stay. Worth what you pay for. - It’s spacious, has good heating and both room and showers are clean. The staff are very hospitable and nice, they even gave me fruits during my stay. Kinda far from the city center but I had a rented car so not a problem. You can park inside their compound.
- Bruno (7/5): Good - room, facilities. washing machine, drinks for a price in the fridge, nice yard. kettle, cooking facilities etc. good deal price. dificult to find with google maps,, not light street, not paviment to walk, just avoiding cars , uphill. you have to pay only cash getting from ATM so you pay the night plus very expensive fees. rooster near by will wake you up very early in the morning. Host does not speak english hard to communicate.
- Robert (8/5): Very good - This place is a nice little mini apartment in the front garden of the owner's house. It is well equipped with TV, kitchen and so forth. It's about 30 minute walk to the city center, but there is a mini supermarket nearby and some cafes.
Very good value overall, and the hosts are nice. The only downside to this place is that the bathroom is separate from the apartment so you have to walk outside to get to it.
- Mykola (5/5): Passable - It's quiet location, the nice garden and nice elderly couple the owners. Be prepared if you are staying here in the wintertime. The building is cold. Air-condition is only in the room, sometimes it is working sometimes not :)))
And it's a challenge to go to the bathroom or to the kitchen.
Kitchen is good but there is no enough equipment if you like to cook for yourself, you have to ask the owners but they dont speak any English, albanian only.
So communication is very hard.
Beds are old and not very comfy.
Probably this place is much more comfortable during the summertime.
- Varuna1 (7/5): Location not ideal - Full fledged room and kitchen. Air conditioning and average WiFi connectivity. Toilet being outside is a huge downside. I slipped and injured my knee when I tried to go to the bathroom at night when it was raining.
The hosts although very nice struggled to communicate in English. So it is a bit misleading to mention that the hosts speak English.
It felt like communicating with a mute or dumb person who used signals/gestures to communicate.
I think the person managing the messages on the app is probably a relative or a child of the host.
Responsive via messages but not at the accommodation.
The place is a hazard to walk around if it rains, which it did when I visited.
Many good aspects, but the outdoor toilet and lack of communication makes it an okay experience.
- Robertalonso (10/5): Nice and safe place, fantastic value - The property was spacious, clean, and quiet. The hosts were kind and welcoming. I was received with a cup of coffee brought to me and fruit from the garden. The only downside was the bathroom separated from the flat. The shower could be better. Though the water was hot, it was a bit old and more of a stream than a shower. Not an issue in the summer, but if you wash at night before bed after a day out, it can be a bit tricky
- Pati (7/5): Good - The owner was very friendly and the booked floor was generally nice, comfortable, and clean. The bathroom was not very clean and the area surrounding the building felt very unsafe to walk through, especially alone at night.
- De (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yusuf (8/5): Very good - Apartments are clean and also gardens Shower and praying space
- Deniz (8/5): Very good - A helpful lady owner. Bathroom was outside of the house.
- Wiktoria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siddas (7/5): Excellent Value But Wouldn't Be For Everyone - As value for money this place excels. I paid about 12 Euros a night for my stay. I had the whole 4 bed apartment to myself which was great if a little excessive!
The place was spotlessly clean. The decor was a little dated as was the furniture but the bed was very comfy. It was quiet at night.
The bathroom was very clean and the shower worked ok. As others have pointed out it is a wet room so there is no shower curtain so the floor in there gets wet, and slippy but if you use a bit of caution this isn't a problem. There was a fridge and cooking facilities in the kitchen. I didn't use these as it was cheap to eat out. There was drinks (and raki) for sale that were in the fridge.
The guy that met me spoke no English and me no Albanian but he got someone on the phone who could translate so the language barrier was easily overcome. He was very friendly.
It was very safe in the complex with lockable gates and front door.
There is a simple supermarket a door or two down and the lady in there was really nice and helpful.
Bring a torch with you as there is not street lighting and the locks were difficult to use in the dark. Saying what I didn't like is a bit harsh really as this is subjective. The place is about a 20-25 minute walk out of the centre - fine for me but it is all uphill so not for everyone. It is in a part of the city away from the main drone of cars and beeping of horns, in a residential setting. If I was a lone female I probably wouldn't have been happy walking on the streets around there - I must add I never felt threatened though and was happy to be round there. But I could see it wouldn't be good for some people. I don't think it would suit people with limited mobility as the path down to the building is quite steep and slippy.
It was pretty cold in the building but the heater in one of the rooms worked well - it would be quite cold in the rest of the building in colder months so bring some thick socks!
I could see how this place wouldn't appeal to the more distinguished traveller as it is quite dated - but everything works and I'd rather have more money in my pocket to spend in the city instead of a fancy hotel
- Michael (9/5): It’s just a great value; it’s a great place to stay. - This is a wonderful place! The room, kitchen facilities, bathroom are all good. The fruit garden is fun and interesting. The staff were generous and helpful. Ultimately, there wasn’t a real language barrier :) Nothing!
- Miwa (4/5): Difficult to communicate - The room is clean, wifi works well Bad response
Difficult to communicate
Answers to questions don't make sense
Inconvenient location
The bathroom is outside
The hosts are not considerate, just self-righteous.
They didn't understand what the guest really needs.
- Marek (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, spacious, nice people, beautiful fruit garden
- Mihaita (10/5): Exceptional - Probably the best place we've stayed at. Not for the comfort or location, but for the hosts.
They make you feel right at home despite the language barrier. We received fruits from the garden, tea and sweets.
We had a parking space for our motorcycle in the yard.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The bathroom/shower is private, but not in the room.
- Ii (1/5): Bad -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The room is located in a beautiful fruit garden and is equipped with all necessary necessities, a good kitchen, internet and clean. In addition, the woman and man are very nice people. The apartment is outside the center, but it gives a more local feeling. And there are many places to eat and drink nearby. Also handy is a small grocery store 20 meters away. Its all good. I stayed in the 2 bed apartment.
- Gregorio (9/5): A quiet and pleasant experience - Hosts are extremely friendly, kind and welcoming. The ground-floor apartment I stayed in was very comfortable and well-equipped, with air-conditioning, fridge, stove, oven and also a washing machine. Bed was comfortable and allowed a good night's sleep, which was also supported by the quiet and relaxing environment. The place is surrounded by a well-kept garden where fruit and vegetables are grown. The overall quality-price ratio is excellent. If I went back to Tirana, I would definitely return to Sonce. The only downsides are the fact that the place is uphill and a little far from the centre (about 2 km), but if you like walking it isn't really a problem, otherwise you can always call a taxi. The other is the fact that the bathroom is outside the room, which could be a bit annoying especially if it's cold at night.
- Simon (9/5): Great Stay in Tirana with some distance to center - The accomodation was really nice and the hosts very friendly
- Jona (10/5): Quiet place near the city but also shaded enough for privacy and comfort. The owner is lovely -
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Egor (9/5): Superb - I liked the cozy small room with air conditioning, good working wi-fi, fridge, kitchen and bathroom near the room.
- Egor (9/5): Superb - I liked the cozy large room I lived in most of the staying: bed and shower, a kitchen with the utensils and the possibility of cooking, a table where I could eat and use laptop, fridge; good working Wi-Fi, great garden view, helpful hostess.
The small cozy room I moved into at the end of my stay had the air conditioner working. The room I lived in most of the time, as far as I understood, had no air conditioning, there sometimes was a bit hot.
When I extended the stay, at first it was not clear to me that I was moving to another room. Because of this I had to pack things for the move in another room in a slightly limited time frame.
- Steve (9/5): Superb -
- Darlene (10/5): Tirana’s best kept secret! Bargain stay, lovely host. - Set in a garden oasis in the city a twenty minute walk to just about everything. Spacious ground floor apartment with full kitchen. Would have stayed longer if they’d had availability. Fan available Nothing!
- Ainārs (8/5): Very good -
- Vegard (10/5): Exceptional - After 12 days of hiking and doing the peaks of Balkan in Albania, Kossovo and Montenegro it was great to relax in Tirana before the flight back to Norway! Fantastic place, excellent garden and hospitality and really cheap! After almost 4 weeks around Balkan this was the best place! Falemenderit! I liked everything!
- Muamer (6/5): No AC at the apartment! - Clean and big place, although a bit old furniture No AC even that it is stated in description. It was a hot night in Tirana and I couldn't wait till morning to leave.
Some kids started banging above me at 7 am so there was no peace.
The old lady doesn't speak any language except Albanian so it was hard to communicate.
- Jianyi (10/5): cpmfortable - big room and good price nothing
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Tereza (9/5): Cozy housing in a little jungle, cca 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The hostess was super nice. ☺️ -
- Youcef (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, very welcoming with nice location All good
- Salomon (8/5): Very good - the host was very nice and welcoming. the room was a small apartment with a kitchen. but the toilet and shower are separate, outside. but that was fine. the everything was very sweet and clean
- Mounir (8/5): Very good - a quiet place in the chaos of tirana. garden chicken, and the feeling of a small farm nothing
