Guest Reviews
- Matias Ezequiel (7/5): -
- Shining Finger (9/5):
- Guest (8/5): - The cabin was adorable and the kitchen was easy to work in. The loft bed was not comfortable.

A limpeza deixou a desejar.
- Jenny Paola (10/5): Me encantó - Tranquilo, limpio. Ana atenta a cualquier necesidad
- Large (10/5): Ana was a lovely and helpful host, our place was very cosy and clean. Thank you very much! -
Nada
- Maxime (8/5): Very good value but don’t expect more then what you pay for - Super friendly staff and very good value for money Could use a bit of cleaning.
The temperature in the cabaña was weird. The heater heats too much but you can also feel very cold in the night because the isolation is not superb

- Cathal (8/5): Great! - The kitchen area with things for breakfast was really great. Thank you! I think the door needs a matt, as the floor got wet very easily in the winter.
- Stacy (8/5): Very good -
- Neveikin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronald (8/5): Very good - Just stayed for couple of hours for my power nap before my late night flight. The hot water was not working the time I was there.
- Karen (10/5): Loved this place! - We loved these adorable cabins, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, the cabin was warm at night. The hosts were very friendly, and will keep your luggage for you, the kitchen facilities are separate and basic but have everything you need to make a meal and breakfast items are provided. the value for money was really great, we stayed here twice. You can park outside and walk to town easily. Was fine for us but the double bed is in the roof space so you have to climb a ladder type stair.
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandra (10/5): Incredible! - This property was fantastic. Actually didn’t end up staying in an individual cabin but rather their main guesthouse with 4 private rooms and shared space. It was HUGE and we had the whole thing to ourselves. Good kitchen, warm and firm bed. Towels and linen included. Short walk into town.
Not what I expected when booking but a delight! Nothing.
- Zadeth (9/5): Superb -
- Aisling (9/5): Cosy stay - Felt like a B&B, very homely and warm comfortable rooms, access to kitchen area
- Jo (10/5): Everything you need for a short stay. - It’s really cute, it has everything you need for a small space. You definitely need good legs to get you up and down the staircase to the roof but I liked the quirkiness of it. The communal kitchen has pretty much everything you’ll need to sort your breakfast or dinner. Be sure to check what else is free to use as we bought extra not realising. The blankets smelled funny, like an old people’s home. But the bed was comfy otherwise.
- Jeremy (8/5): A really good stay - Location - about 2 blocks from the main street.
The owner and housekeeper are extremeley helpful. They helped us call for a taxi every morning and even offered to do laundry for us free of charge!
Kitchen is well stocked with free coffee and tea. There's also a water dispenser.
The room that we got was not in an actual cabin like in the photos but in a normal looking building which honestly we dont mind. the room was pretty spacious. Bed comfort.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ioannis (7/5): Good -
- Ioannis (7/5): Good -
- Snell (7/5): Good -
- Violetta (6/5): Pleasant - Everything is in walking distance. Hosts were nice and helpful. The room was warm. There was permanent gas smell in the cabin, it was quite scary. The shower was broken, but at least hot. They removed our stuffs when they cleaned the cabin - that was very unpleasant.
- Maria (3/5): Okay - Very nice staff. It was helpful to have a shared kitchen space and make hot drinks. Great price Sadly, the place was dirty, lots of hair in the bathroom. Dust and dirt in every corner. Sheets had stains on them.
- Tiagom (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was super friendy and flexible, we felt welcomed and like at home, help us with everything we needed. Location was also good, not too far from the center.
- Natasa (8/5): Very good - A little run down, but great location and lovely staff. The cleaner kept putting my stuff away into drawers I didn't choose to put there, which was a bit odd.
- India (10/5): The best place I have stayed in South America so far! - Super friendly host, cosy and clean room with the comfiest bed ever, I have nothing but good things to say! All for a really reasonable price, I highly recommend.
- Wai (8/5): Very good -
- Aniruddha (9/5): Superb - Well kept, spacious rooms, nice kitchen Wish we were told we could stay in one room instead of 2 rooms as each of our rooms has four plus beds more than enough to accommodate my family of 4.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Liz (10/5): Great stay in A frame cabin, would return - Great place , great value for money Nil
- Penny (8/5): Very good -
- Rodríguez (10/5): Fairytale Acommodations - The place is beautiful and cozy. It felt like a movie. Warm cabins, warm shower. Some items to prepare your own breakfast are included which is really nice.
- Sebastian (9/5): Superb - Cozy cottage, simple but comfortable. Nice common spaces (kitchen and garden). Excellent value for the price.
- Bg18 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb - Very nice operator. Helpful.
- Matthew (3/5): Poor - Located in a great spot in town. Not a comfortable place to stay. Very limited accomodations for cooking & living. Which would have been fine for a low budget option, but it was priced significantly higher than it was worth. Cash only or face a serious upcharge for credit card. We booked 2 nights and left after the first, will not recommend or return.
- May (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matt (9/5): Simple, well managed, and a pleasant place to stay in a very busy town - Ana (host) was extremely helpful and pleasant. We rented one of the "cabins" which had all that we needed. The shared kitchen facilities were nice and we appreciated being able to eat in. The location is a few blocks from the main avenue and near a few parks. We had a very nice stay. Breakfast was very, very basic. Cook your own eggs, no meat or cheese. Basic bread for toast. Only instant coffee, which is definitely not our preference.
- Diego (9/5): Superb - Super clean and comfortable! Lots of equipment in the kitchen and even free food like eggs! A bit far from the centre
- Migetgem (8/5): Very good - Best quality for the price. Very nice staff. The sink at the kirchen
- Kerrin (10/5): Exceptional - Cosy, good value, and a very warm welcome from Anna.
- Shavaiz (6/5): Passable - nice cabins, late check in was possible. the double bed on the attic didnt had clean linen. reported to the reception in the morning. lucky thing there were still bunk beds availablr to sleep on lower floor.
- Sophie (9/5): Affordable stay! - Good & cheap place to stay. The room was basic but good for the price. There were eggs in the morning available to make breakfast. The keys weren’t the best
- Johan (8/5): Very good - Great Budget Stay with Daily Cleaning & Good Location!
We had a great stay here! The place is very affordable, and the price includes a simple but filling breakfast with bread and eggs—perfect to start the day. The rooms were cleaned daily, which was a big plus, and the Wi-Fi worked really well.
The location is ideal: close to the center but not directly on a busy main road, so it’s quiet at night. Another great perk is that if you pay in cash, you get a discount—always nice when traveling on a budget! You can cook your own meals, which is helpful, though the pots and pans could use an upgrade. Still, for the price, this place is excellent value, and we’d definitely stay here again!
- Letícia (8/5): Very good -
- Alexander (9/5): Superb -
- Oline (9/5): Cute and cozy cabins. - Nice staff, and very cute cabins. We were charged quite a bit more than originally listed on booking.com, as we paid with card and were not prepared to pay with cash. Wish this would have been informed about up front.
- Luisina (8/5): Very good -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hiroki (8/5): Comfortable and reasonable - The room was clean and not too small. The owner was very nice and he could speak basic English. At the first day, the hot water wasn’t coming out, so we had to take a cold shower.
- Sabine (9/5): Superb - Very cute cabañita, loved the cosy feeling and the wonderful lavender bush outside. Don Marcelo is a wonderful gardener and keeps everything very nice in the garden. The public kitchen is a good place to meet and eat with fellow Travellers. Nothing
- Angus (10/5): Perfect place to stay in El Calafate. - The little cabins are very comfortable and homey with clean bathrooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they give you a shelf in the shared fridge to keep your food and full use of the kitchen. Location also great, 5 minute walk from the shops and restaurants.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (8/5): Very good - The staff were very nice. The cabin was clean. It was nice to have a common kitchen area where we could store our food.
- Fanny (8/5): Good for short stay - Clean, little kitchen. Functional for 1 night, would not do a long stay there. We réserver the cabins but ended up with a room in the « hostel » part of the property. It was fine cause it was just for one night, but not ideal.
- Georgia (8/5): Very good -
- Cian (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay for four nights. Would recommend - Good location and very nice staff. Spacious and warm cabin no 9. N/a
- Alyson (8/5): Lovely glamping style cabins - The cabin had a glamping feel and was cosy. It was well set up with en suite and all facilities were clean. The site had a communal kitchen which had everything you could need. We cooked and ate a lovely evening meal and saved ourselves quite a bit by avoiding eating out as the restaurants were pricey.
The host spoke very little English but was very helpful and showed us around the facilities. We wish we could have stayed longer as we enjoyed staying at the cabañitas. It was quite a way out of town, but this was not an issue for us as we had a car. It was warm ... they were gas powered heaters on in the cabin which couldn't be switched off but opening the window sorted that!
- Lindsey (5/5): Passable - Location is fantastic. Staff were kind. All in all in was fine. Cabin was too expensive for what you got. Not sound proof at all, parties nearby going on until all hours of the night made sleep tricky one night. There was a rain/wind storm while I was there and a lot of water leaked in through the loft window and down the wall/ladder onto my suitcase. Would’ve appreciated something to be done for that to make up for the inconvenience.
- Giulia (7/5): Good -
- Robin (6/5): Very affordable and fine for one night or so - Friendly place with well equipped kitchen and only 2 blocks from the main street. Room was comfortable enough for 1 night, given the price. The free bread and eggs in the morning are a nice gesture! The room (and the entire building) was really hot. The shared bathroom wasn’t very clean and both the toilets in the building did not flush. The matrass was quite hard and dented.
- Tania (8/5): Good - Location and staff The facilities need a little update it per example the toilets
- Viktoria (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly , cabana was cozy , convenient location
- Augusto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Costanza (10/5): Really lovely place to spend your days in El Calafate!! - The property was extremely well taken care of. It was clean, well organised and the host was super kind and helpful. Nothing
- Sara (10/5): Quaint, cute, quiet! - This is a cute and quaint little spot! It has a lot of character. I stayed in one of the little A-frame cabins that has a twin bed downstairs and a full-sized bed upstairs (and the upstairs was blessedly dark... after weeks of Patagonia's 18-hour full-sun days, I was ready for a nice dark bedroom!). The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and the bathroom facilities were nice. There is a large kitchen, and each room/cabin has a separate bin for keeping food. If you prefer to do your own cooking (or have the option) while in El Calafate, this is a great option. The food in El Calafate is quite expensive and not so great, and so having the option to cook at the hotel was a nice money saver.
I had stayed elsewhere in El Calafate at the beginning of my trip and appreciated that Las Cabañitas was in a part of the city with far fewer hostels and hotels, meaning it was quieter at night (save for the distant barking of the city's many dogs) than my first hotel. Although I couldn't stay in my room for a late check-out, there is a sizable building on the property where I could spend the day and store my luggage. It had a kitchen, wifi, outlets, etc. So that was a nice option to have since my flight was later in the afternoon.
One thing to note is that the property is cash only! I had forgotten this because I'd booked so long ago, and I was glad I'd not used up all my cash before I arrived. There was a slight smell of old cigarette smoke in the upstairs bedroom, so I ultimately abandoned it to sleep downstairs. I'm not sure if that was from a recent guest or characteristic of the room itself. But otherwise, I have no complaints.
- Sang (9/5): Superb -
- Markos (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hari (8/5): Love to come back again. - Beds have been almost perfect. Bathroom could be cleaner and with a bit more utilties.
- Jamie (9/5): Great Staff - The staff. Quiet neighborhood.
- Karthik (7/5): Good -
- Vanessa (9/5): Superb -
- Yen (3/5): Small room. Cigarette smell. A little disappointing - 2 streets from Main Street. Fresh eggs for the morning. Really small. It looks like the picture.. smell of cigarette near the double bed; bathroom has no hangers at all. Only 2 hooks in the whole room for your coat, shirt, towels, bath items. Living space is also small.
(9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): I had a lovely, easy, cozy stay and felt welcome I. T - The host family (sorry i forget your names) was very nice and accommodating. The room was totally adequate and cozy, but what made this place special to me was that they managed to cultivate a peaceful, safe oasis in their tiny courtyard in the middle of town. They graciously stored a small bag for me while I was out hiking for the week for no charge even though I was unable to stay with them upon my return. If I'm lucky enough to return to Puerto natales, I will try to stay here again. The internet was a little slow at times.
- Job (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy and warm with a gas heater. The cabin has two levels and the picture only shows the attic which looks narrow and dark. There are bunk beds on the first floor too. I only used the first level which is easy and warm.
