Guest Reviews
- Janet (9/5): -
- Kathleen (10/5): Had a beautiful long weekend. Spectacular setting in the forest. Great location! - Fantastic location, private and relaxing. Accessibility is a challenge with stairs.
- Estelle (10/5): We stayed one night and it was perfect. A peaceful, beautiful place - The location was excellent. Private and peaceful
- Matt (6/5): I had a great day apart from the bed and the creakiness - The sauna was good The spa was good. Properly was good. The shower was good. Bath was good. The heater/air-conditioner was good. I didn’t have any complaints except two things. The two things that I had issues was the bed was very uncomfortable. I think it needs to be up a little bit higher than laying on the floor. It was hard as a rock plus not comfortable to watch TV and the other thing was the place was very creaky
- Paul (10/5): - Amazing only fault was not staying longer. Nil
- Alessia (9/5): Erholsam - Mit sehr viel Liebe und Bedacht gestaltet. Es ist wirklich ein Ruhe Ort und hat alles was man braucht. Leider waren sehr viele Spinnweben im Innenraum und teils staubig.
- CHIU (9/5): I will definitely bring my family over here one day - It was amazing One of the bottles of the hand washing is not working.
- Geoff (9/5): -
- robert (7/5): Lovely. - The location and the lush surrounds. Loved the spa, it was very relaxing and private. My only real suggestion is to have an indoor table and chairs as it is very cold to have a meal outside during the cooler months.
- Adriano (10/5): Do yourself a favour and relax at this serene and unique oasis. - Location, room and staff were exceptional. Such a beautiful location and Joy went out of her way the have the room 'just right' before our arrival. Very communicative and prompt. Highly recommended. Nothing, it was all fabulous.
- Tim (10/5): - Hot tub
- Tony (6/5): -
- Welsh (10/5): - The location was beautiful
- Duggan (8/5): Very good -
- Skyline (10/5): Fantastic apartment with private spa bath. - What a gorgeous property. Super clean, spacious and bright room with Boho vibes. We stayed in the Moroccan suite. Awesome. Lovely spa deck with spa bath outside in a private setting surrounded by bamboo. The staff were lovely and happy to help with whatever we needed (which was nothing as everything was perfect). Will be coming back again and again. It hi g. It was perfect.
- Dawn (9/5): Loved it and highly recommend it. - The room was amazing and our suite included a lovely heated spa and very cosy dressing gowns. The views are fantastic. N/A
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (5/5): We won’t be back or recommend. Overpriced. - Nice shower and bath. Dark and poorly designed. No bedside lamps for reading. Minimal kitchen facilities. Never felt comfortable.
- Belinda (6/5): Unique, cosy stay with a private spa (sauna and hot tub), in a self sufficient room in a stunning area. - It was pretty unique, quite cosy, nicely decorated, too. The private spa facilities were amazing, the sauna was SO HOT it was lovely, and we really enjoyed the outdoor areas, and the bubbly hot tub! We only stayed one night, but it was so nice to crack open a bottle of chilled wine, make ourselves some food in the nicely stocked kitchenette (utensils wise), and really relax with a nice film after enjoying the sunset in the hot tub. We were greeted by some very cute dogs, who were so friendly, and that was a really nice addition. In the morning, we had a nice hot bath and a few cups of yummy coffee that was provided by the owner. We had the impression the room hadn’t been deep cleaned in a while, it wasn’t dirty, but there were cobwebs in the corners in the room, and in the sauna. It took us a while to actually set up the sauna so we spent most of the evening waiting for it to get hot, haha. As we were only there one night, it was a teency bit frustrating but not really a big deal. The hot tub had some settings that didn’t work, so half of it didn’t really have bubbles, so we kept having to swap so each of us could enjoy the jets. Security wise, it was a little unnerving to me (not my boyfriend haha) that the gate to the decking wasn’t lockable as the “bolt” was broken. We couldn’t figure out whether or not the main door and back door to the decking / garden area actually locked either, so it freaked me out a bit during the night. As we were in the middle of the woods, it was just a bit spooky!
It also would’ve been great to have a heads up about the room being more of like an “apartment” experience so we could’ve brought some food with us instead of having to go out again after arriving to buy stuff from the local (pretty $$) stores in town.
As for room price though, I was happy with what we paid!
- Perry (9/5): Superb - Awesome value. Spa and sauna were lovely . Location Awesome
- Brooks (9/5): The most relaxing and enjoyable stay ! - Love the privacy and and serenity location was great Wasp nest right near our entrance door
- Martin (7/5): Good -
- Hayley (8/5): Lovely adult only accommodation - Great adult only accommodation. Hot tub was amazing! Not as private as we would have liked. Could hear people next to us.
- Willow (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely quiet setting the jacuzzi bath outside deck was superb. The bed was large and comfortable, the robes were soft and delightful.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful getaway in a luxury setting
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Kirstie (8/5): Absolutely beautiful property and room. Almost completely private, perfect for couples that are happy not having tv! Ver - Absolutely gorgeous, very spacious. Loved the private spa on the deck. Very comfortable bed, and appreciated having a couch to sit on. The whole room looked and felt like a day spa. Entire property is beautiful and very quiet and serene. The dirt road made it a bit difficult, it was very bumpy so made for a slow and uncomfortable drive for part of the journey in and out of the property. The only other thing was that the shower toggle was broken making showers impossible. The owners response was that we will have to bath instead which we did not want to do. We understand that she tried to fix the problem and it wasn’t her fault, however we would have appreciated being financially compensated for the inconvenience.
- Sarah (9/5): Perfection at its best. Highly recommend. - Stunning room. Extremely clean and comfortable room. Lights were on when we arrived, along with beautiful music playing, which gave the room a “wow” factor. The spa was amazing. Everything was amazing. Gorgeous location.
There was an issue regarding the shower. However, we were notified before arrival and the owners were extremely willing to negotiate with the situation to make us happy. The kettle wasn’t working. I sent a text regarding this, and within 10 minutes, the conversation was had and another kettle wasn’t delivered to our door. Absolutely outstanding customer service! The owners truly went above and beyond. Nothing at all.
- Luke (10/5): Should have stayed for a week! - What a beautiful property, amazing location, literally on the Forrest. Amazing hiking locations and close by and lovely wineries and restaurants
- Flynn (10/5): A lovely place amongst the karri forest - A very relaxing environment not too far from town, very clean and spacious room with a cute back spa area. The spa was warm for when we arrived too.
- Jemma (4/5): Disappointing - Loved the location and that there was privacy. The outdoor spa was set in some high decking with bamboo and wood features around and looking out to the forrest. The room smelled really musky. Needs new bath towels, when they were wet smelled old and not fresh. Some soap for shower would be good. There was no gas left in the BBQ gas bottle.
Was hard to tell on the website what room we were booking or which room was which when booking.
- Sun (7/5): Great place to stay - Very cosy n romantic suite Spider webs and bed linen a bit smelly, shower knob not working properly
- Glenn (8/5): We enjoyed ourselves and thanks to the team - We had a great Breakfast, bacon, eggs, baked beans on a crumpet, coffee from the supplied coffee machine, ps brekky not included, cooked it ourselves, but yes we did a great job 🤪👌 The wooden edge around the bed was awkward but doable, we got there a tad early so outside spa was not prepared, but a quick text got that sorted by Greg with out us even noticing or really telling them, great work & probably not secluded enough for our liking but still we were very satisfied with our time away 🤷♂️🍻
- Bruce (8/5): Very good -
- Mensforth (10/5): Loved place and doggos - Awesome stay place was incredible Nothing
- Jaimelee (9/5): Beautiful place - Beautiful venue peaceful location
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Nelio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - It was a beautiful property Nothing
- Debbie (10/5): Perfect weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary - The room was exactly as advertised. It was comfortable and luxurious. The tv was playing a relaxing video with the aircon on making the room warm and welcoming. The spa bath was ready for use. The garden was beautiful and everything together made for a wonderful weekend. Nothing. Everything was great.
- Michael (9/5): Incredibly comfortable. Somewhere you look forward to coming back to - It’s clear that the owners have taken great pride and care in their property.
The bedding, bathroom and furniture was all above any other standard we have stayed. The bed was comfortable and great quality, the sheets were comfortable as opposed to the usual cheap stuff you get anywhere else.
The host took the time to welcome us personally. My only complaint would be that the fan in the bathroom doesn’t do a great job of venting the place out after a hot shower. Not something that would stop me from staying but something would be worth a look.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - the surrounding gardens and attention to the small details was perfect. the 2 dogs where super fun and friendly.
- Marxus (10/5): Exceptional - Everything even the puppy’s were so great Probably more towels but everything was great
- Carla (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Absolutely Amazing ! Great getaway from city life . - Extra bin near Bbq area
Cleaning products in kitchen
Eg …just to clean kitchen bench
- Brett (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Leeanne (7/5): Wonderful location quirky and little bit different. - The location is awesome and the quirky bits and pieces made it unique. Not enough coffee for two people. And not enough storage space for luggage, also a smart tv would be nice most of the dvd’s did not have a good picture.
- Alison (10/5): Couldn’t have been happier with our stay at mudstone suites. Will definitely be back -
- Stacey (7/5): Great stay but I tad on the expensive side for the attention to detail and cleanliness - The rooms are good size and love the sauna and spa. Beautiful gardens. Beds were comfortable and it was in a great location. There were hairs in the sink, spiderwebs all over the room and the floor wasn’t super clean. The towels also didn’t have a nice smell to them at all. The door also didn’t lock from the inside in the executive suite. Two globes in the bathroom were blown and the one to the left of the tv was flickering the whole time. Only one toilet roll supplied.
- Liam (7/5): Good -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beattie (4/5): Outdoor spa bath is lovely, however, we experienced a 7hr power outage. - This is a beautiful property, we had the outdoor spa ‘Moroccan room’, the outdoor spa bath is very lovely. The site manager was very responsive which we appreciated. Unfortunately, we only stayed for 1 night and there was an unplanned power outage between 3pm-10:30pm, we had hot water but no power. There is little the owners can do about this but seems like the area is prone to outages, so I think it’s something to be aware of when booking. We thought a half price refund was a fair sharing of the disappointing experience, the owner agreed to about a quarter refund which had been originally offered to go towards dinner in town. With this in mind the value for money was very low.
- Linda (8/5): Very good - The big bed - the couch was great & spa awesome! No sharp knife in the kitchen. Front door screen very average, which u first see on arrival
- Robert (7/5): Good - Presentation was great Spa was not private. Missing some basic items considering price.
- Jasmine (9/5): Wonderful people, beautiful vibe, definitely a great trip -
- Phillip (6/5): Pleasant - We loved the location. The spa & sauna were a bonus. Open plan living was great. Felt like we were being watched even though it was supposed to be private. It was a bit dark. Needed more natural lighting. The furniture was a bit aged & the cupboards needed maintenance. A couple of the power points didnt work in the kitchen.Fortunately I bought a spare power board.
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Maynard (10/5): Great getaway - Such a beautiful getaway with my fiance. The location was perfect and magical. Enjoyed the local wildlife and beauty of the Forrest environment around us. The two dogs that visited our room were so gorgeous and playful. We also enjoyed how peaceful and the ambience of peace. The room and stay was 10/10 There's nothing to complain about here :)
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Karbowiak (6/5): Pleasant - It's located in a beautiful Forest and the outdoor bath is lovely. When I contacted the owner the reply was fast and super helpful. Unfortunately the cleaner didn't do a great job but the owners were helpful with that.
The property could use some basic overall maintenance.
- Cherie (8/5): Nice property with Moroccan vibe - Great outdoor spa bath It was hard to find we missed the small sign as it was facing the opposite direction to where we came from
- Janine (8/5): Very good -
- Kurt (10/5): Exceptional - They let us check in super early because we got rained off our camp site. The suite was amazing!!! I have 0 complaints about my stay
- Jessica (8/5): Very good -
- Rob (7/5): Good -
- Agreen (10/5): Exceptional - Romantic
Cozy
The surrounding
- Ryno (4/5): Disappointing - The property looked beautiful. Upon further looking around found loads of spider webs. Went to sleep and found a million ants in the morning all over our stuff even though no food was left out and the room was left extremely clean. Property needs a fair bit of maintenance. There also was not enough soap in the room. It had one bar of soap on the bath tub but no shower gel whatsoever so you were left using the soap bar for everything. There is no covering on the door entrance so if someone was to come look at the door whilst you're in the bed they could see whatever they like. Also the property doesn't fully lock up even though you're in the middle of nowhere It would be nice to lock the whole place up, it just felt a little unsecured for my wife. All in all for the price we paid we were expecting a better maintained property.
- Michael (9/5): Absolutely loved our stay at mudstones. The perfect little weekend getaway. - The location of the property is perfect. Peaceful and quiet but Not to far from away from the town Nothing. Everything was great :)
- Tania (8/5): Very good -
- Sat1310 (10/5): We will be back - Can't fault this place. So beautiful and relaxing and welcoing Nothing
- Jayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sizamile (10/5): It was a lovely romantic weekend thanks Joy - Unique None
- Shayne (8/5): A unique little haven in a forest. Moroccan king size bed, and a secluded spa perfect to unwind with a glass of bubbles - Location in the forest surrounded with the sound of beautiful birds, a lovely rich Moroccan theme, thick luxurious bath robes and a wonderful spa in a secluded garden area
- Cliff (8/5): Very good -
- Dunstan (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Very Romantic
- Airin (8/5): Very good -
- Humphrey (5/5): Not a place to which we'd return - very attractive location The room lacked bedside tables and bedside lights and its organisation was misconceived with a target of quirkiness at the expense of comfort. Also it wasn't clear on the website that no breakfast was offered [at extra cost or otherwise]. Also quite expensive.
A $100 damage deposit is charged in advance, something of which we became aware only after getting a notification from our bank.
- Drew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristy (10/5): nice and comfortable - how quiet it was
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Lauren (9/5): Relaxing and beautiful stay - The location is only just out of pembertion. The Gentleman that runs the properly gave some great advise on places to check out and was very friendly. The room was lovely, looked just like the photos. Great stay. N/A
- Michelle (9/5): Superb - style
- Alex (7/5): Good, but could be better - Liked the location and facilities (spa, sauna, bath) Bit of a strange styling throughout with items from all over the world make the room a bit scattered.
For the price, there are some minor things that should be repaired (loose soap holders, towel rails. Paint peeling, and we actually had the toilet door handle come apart as the screws had fully undone over time).
Zero privacy out on the deck where the spa is as another room window looks straight into the spa.
Would recommend enclosing the whole front side of the deck and having a stair access to the Bali hut for better privacy.
- Jessica (9/5): A must stay! Wonderful experience and will be back! - What a perfect part of the world! The best place to relax and getaway and spend some quality time in nature either with a partner or alone. Super comfy bed, loved listening to the wildlife at night. The hot tub was fantastic! The free standing bath was gorgeous and the sauna was a wonderful bonus. The relaxed check in and out (no need to find a member of staff - text message with all the information needed and keys left in the door) was so convenient and was a lovely gesture. Nothing bad at all. Don’t let anything hinder your visit to this wonderful place.
Three wishes. Wish we had better cooking facilities in the villa but that’s not a deal breaker. It would have been great to have a little information regarding the sauna and hot tub as we didn’t want to mess anything up! We worked them out, it was simple but would have liked a “how to or tips” guide. Lastly, it would be great to know more about the road to the suites. All info sent out says “gravel road”, however if you aren’t local you might misjudge the road. You don’t need a 4x4 to access the suites but just drive very carefully as the gravel and mud is slippery and bumpy.
- Andrew (9/5): Have and will carry on recommending this place to friends and family - Loved it ! - From the moment we walked in I was blown away - my partner bought me here for my 50th birthday week and it was beautiful - the surroundings with the big trees and beautiful executive suite - i couldnt ask for more! Relaxing in the spa with the sounds of the wind in the trees was amazing - perfectly heated before we arrived ! if anything maybe some sort of shower curtain - and the taps to the bath are too far away for a top up :)
- Peter (9/5): As above - A hidden jem- secluded and very private Nothing
- Jorge (10/5): amazing place for a quiet, relaxing or romantic getaway - The Room was exceptional, it was really romantic, the bathtub and the hydromassage tub were amazing
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (7/5): Good -
- Dina (5/5): It was beautiful but sadly didn’t live up to expectations as some of the facilities weren’t usable - Location was superb! Very private and the hot tub and sauna were perks! The bathtub plug was damaged and was unable to be used as the water kept leaking out. It also wasn’t very clean in the bathroom space, we found dead roaches and other bugs.
- David (10/5): We came away relaxed and glad we had picked Mudstone for our stay. - Well situated and quiet - suited our needs perfectly
- Lisa (7/5): Beautiful but impersonal - Beautiful decore & loved the music video upon entry. Beautiful location. It just felt very impersonal. Lots of little issues that weren't really addressed ie remote for dvd needed batteries, couldn't have a bath bc plug didn't work. No instruction manuals for cooktop or sauna, we worked them all out but it was frustrating. Power went out but no candles or check in from management. We just felt that for premium accomodation the care factor wasn't there like it was with our other accomodation on our holiday.
- Charles (7/5): Their mantra is not to bother clients, therefore absolutely NO interaction which is disappointing - Good location Quite dark inside accommodation
Needs a little love…
- Camilleri (10/5): Exceptional - They staff were available if required and the place was extremely stuning. Very romantic and relaxing escape in nature.
- Deborah (9/5): Superb -
- Shenay (10/5): Exceptional -
