Guest Reviews
- carla (8/5): We liked it a lot. - Great location. Nice spacious room. Very clean. Pretty little terrace on the river with lots of green. Nicely cosy decorated. Coffee and tea and little fridge. Perfect! There was a light ‘mouldy’ smell? Maybe something with the draining? Because it was absolutely very clean!!
The rooms are not ‘sound proof’ but because there are just a few rooms it is not a big problem.
It’s a bit dark inside for those who need a lot of light

Echt romantische kamer. Midden in het centrum Niks
- Simon (10/5): Wonder Christmas break - Great location. Beautiful setting, comfortable bed & good shower. Nothing.

- Rebecca (9/5): Good location quiet clean and comfortable - Very clean, and comfortable private rooms, very quiet while still very close to the center of eveything. Fun little porch onto a canal. Easy check-in. Drop off and parking was difficult if coming by car- not even a place to really stop quickly and drop off your luggage. However, once I found the parking garage ( underground city cnetral garage), it was a very quick walk to the place. Bathroom is not private FYI if sharing a room with someone you are not very comfortable with- bathroom otherwise is very nice
- John (8/5): Perfectly good for a short stay - Location The air in our room felt a little damp, being on the ground floor right next to the canal.

- Halit (9/5): - The beds were really comfortable, one of the best in my whole excursion this year. The location was good and the house has a characteristic design.
- Juan Manuel (10/5): - Niceeee!!!
- Ann (7/5): -
- Timothy (9/5): Superb - Great location, quiet, clean and well maintained Nothing
- Dionysia (9/5): Great location, very pleasant and clean - Excellent location, very clean, comfortable and pretty room, very easy to check in and check out, appreciated the coffee machine in the room and the view of the river. Very quiet too, although it's right in the historical centre.
- Lesley (10/5): A lovely home away from home for us in Bruges. - Location - close to the Old town and also close to restaurants.
The property is peaceful and relaxing with your own seating area by the canal.
- Debbie (10/5): Beautiful place to stay in a perfect location - This was our first time in Brugge and this location was absolutely perfect. Close to the train station and to the centre. Also bike hire just around the corner. We booked two rooms and both were unique and thoughtfully designed. Very comfortable and clean. Having the little terrace was perfect for an evening drink or morning coffee. It was perfect!
- Livia (10/5): Amazing Bruge stay - Excellent location, fantastic canal-side patio with nature sounds to wake up to, amazingly comfortable bed and bedding . The shower was also amazing! Everything was awesome
- Geoffrey (8/5): Good value for Brugge, central location, great hosts. I would return. - Quiet, easy access and close to everything in town. Pubs and restaurants less than 100m walk, restful location for a quiet break. We enjoyed sitting out the back for coffee and snaks and afternoon drinks. Improvements would be better lighting, remove the low lights that were always being hit and provide some luggage racks for bags. A double power point for the fridge/coffee machine would also mean we wouldn’t have to wait a day to realise the fridge wasn’t on. Be aware there is no TV.
- Williamramirez (4/5): Great location, very uncomfortable, poor ventilation, noisy, bad support. Not recommended! - The location is absolutely fantastic, close to a large parking and also to one of the main squares. The main center, other squares and the main streets, are only 10-15 walking. The room is nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable. Unfortunately there are quite some negative points. As already mentioned in many other reviews, the air in the room smells quite bad. Ventilation of the room is very bad, which was confirmed by the owner when contacting them about this. However, the proposed solution was ridiculous: "leave the door to the hall and to outside open", not really a solution when we are in the room nor when we are sleeping (not safe). Although the beds are clean they were not cleaned properly, as the bedsheets (especially the cushions) smelled bad (which was solved when complained about it). The hanging positions of the lamps near the bed and toiled is really bad, every time you get up from either on of them you need to pay close attention (to not hit your head). Warm water is insufficiently available, so a warm shower will either be short or not available. And lastly, insulation of the floor is very poor, so when you are in a bottom room you will very clearly (and loudly) hear the guests upstairs. Overall, great location but very uncomfortable, in almost all ways. And when raising complaints the support is very poor. Way overpriced in terms of value for money. Definitely not recommended...
- Spencer (9/5): Superb - Location was fantastic everything was in walking distance of the hotel. The room was very warm and cosy, and the beds were super comfortable. There wasn't a tv in the room.
- Delma (7/5): Nice stay overall - Comfortable stay. Big perk is the location - excellent spot to explore historic Bruges and not far from the train station. We weren't fans of the bathroom/shower setup. It's very, very open. And there are a few hanging decorations and lamps that are really easy to bump into.
- Helen (8/5): Amicable stay in a well located part of Brugge! - Loved the location in the city centre. Place was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was brilliant! Good coffee machine and outside area. I wast happy about the cubicle as a toilet. It made privacy difficult. A tv would have also been nice.
- Thomas (10/5): Beautiful guest house ,great location ,fairly priced, warm, cosy ,clean and quiet. - Excellent location ,parking was cheap and A 2 minute walk away ,any questions I had were answered straight away through email.
The guesthouse was warm, cosy and very quiet.
The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and clean.
Nice rustic decor with modern comfort, no tv but this was not an issue for us.
Tea and coffee included.
Come and go as you please.
Excellent value for money ,great location, clean warm and comfortable.
Would definitely recomend and would definitely stay again if I were to visit Bruges sometime in the future.
Thankyou Bru Lagoon, we loved your guesthouse! if I HAD to list any negative points we encountered I would say they were very minor.
Something that may be an issue is that the toilet in the room was behind a small partition wall with no door ,but there was another toilet in the hall we could use if we needed to, so this wasn't A problem for us at all.
The fridge in the room could of been a bit colder ,but again we barely used it so it was not an issue.
Other than those minor points our stay was perfect.
- Gina-maree (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful room, quiet and pleasant location, easy and helpful communication.
- Harshil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabel (8/5): Excellent location and super peaceful stay! - Loved the bed, super comfortable! Decorated beautifully! Terrace just so peaceful:) Cigarette smoke blowing into our room from terrace next door but that’s not the property’s fault. Could implement a no smoking rule?
- Mary (7/5): Excellent location but get rid of those low hanging lamps. - The location was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The room had too many low hanging lamps. I banged my head against the ones by the bed and the one in the toilet area was ridiculous! It was impossible to go to the toilet and not get tangled up in a lamp. Just ridiculous! Also, no fan was provided and the room desperately needed air circulation even with the back door open.
- Steve-o (10/5): Wonderful location, beautiful setting, perfect for a weekend get away. - Everything in the room was very well put together. The room is perfectly lit and has a nice private balcony. The shower is exceptionally roomy. The location is the highlight for me. After arriving from a long train journey I only needed a six minute walk to get to this location. The proximity to the rest of Bruges is also great; its tucked away in a quiet street, but has easy access to the rest of the city. The little balcony is a nice touch when you want to spend the evening drinking wine or enjoying a Belgian beer. There is absolutely nothing to complain about for me! I was so pleased with every little detail. My only regret is that I couldn't spend more time here.
- Jessica (10/5): In Bruge to celebrate my boyfriend’s 31st birthday and we could not have asked for a better place to do so. - The location was everything! Quite yet just a couple hundred of feet from everything! The canal along the back of our room was so beautiful and serene. We spent each morning out there having tea or coffee. The only issue we came across was the show didn’t drain or drained very slowly. We had to keep towels on the floor to prevent the water from going all over the bathroom floor.
- Nicola (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (7/5): Good - Location is good, very close to the centre and also easy to get there from the main station. There is NO separation between the bed room, the shower and the toilet. No doors and just a tiny wall that stops at about eye level covering the toilet corner. The shower is surrounded by a glass wall right in the middle of the room.
We never met any staff, they just sent us the code for the front door and the key was in the lock. Since they seemed to have done the same for the people staying there after us, they enabled them to surprise us in our room when we had not left yet (we didn't lock the door because we were about to leave soon and didn't expect anybody to suddenly open it). Also, there's no guarantee the staff got the local tax they asked us to leave behind in cash in the room.
- Yolanda (10/5): Great place in Brugge! - So warm and cozy Nothing really
- Alfie (9/5): Fantastic guesthouse - Room was perfectly apportioned with fantastic facilities. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was great. The room is too hot, the heating is on all of the time which makes it cosy at first but sweaty afterwards. It would have been nice to have fresh milk with the tea making facilities rather than the milk sachets available.
- Beth (10/5): Great time - Location, room itself Nothing
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Had a great time, instructions were clear to access room. Have a suggestion, would have been nice to have had a full len - Location, room, decor, cleanliness, privacy Nothing to not like
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carole (8/5): Very good - The location is good. The room was nice and the patio was a nice bonus. I'm not fond of having the toilet in the room but there's a more private option in the hall. I appreciated that. Communication was great. Nice neighborhood too. Only 2 related dislikes. It was hot in the room. An electric or ceiling fan should be provided. Keeping the screen door open might've helped however there's no physical barrier between the adjoining patios. Unfortunately they were smokers and that made it impossible for us to keep the door open so it was a hot, uncomfortable time until they finally went to bed.
- Gary (10/5): Perfect everything! - Location is everything! You can walk absolutely everywhere but also have a lovely quiet retreat to head back to when you’re done ! with a gorgeous patio backing onto a canal It has everything you could possibly need
Thank you ! Loved it all !
- Graham (10/5): A great place to stay in Brugge - Location to Brugge It was extremely hot during our visit. A fan in the room would have helped circulate the air. As I understand from local people we talked to, the weather was unique during our stay.
- Ozge (8/5): Very good -
- Hunter (10/5): Thank you so much! I’ll be back! - Clean, beautiful, charming, convenient to all of Bruges, and helpful service!
- Nicola (8/5): Very good -
- Samuele (7/5): Bru lagoon - particular furnishings and suggestive location a lot of humidity in the room/bed
- Rosy (9/5): Superb - The terrace and the family of coots swimming on the canal . The super comfortable bed. Peaceful and quiet room. The decoration. I missed having a TV a bit, but it did force me to unwind more. A bit more storage would have been helpful.
- Michelle (9/5): Great place, great location, would like to go back. - Lovely place, really nice to be by the river. Great location and close to everything. Nice bars just next door. Nothing
- Faiza (9/5): Peaceful - peaceful, silent, terrasse is very lovely. The door was hard to open, because the floor was too closed to the door. Plus, is dangerous, Because the terrasse haven’t protection to fall.
- Dale (2/5): This really I’m was not something we would ever book again - Location good: however 1) no privacy for WC, 2)sheets and towels poor quality, 3) lighting was bad, 4) 1 key so if one person gets up early they have to lock the other person in to lock the roomi!5) Lagoon was ok - not great- sorry could go on but it’s a no go back for us & at this point our biggest mistake for our 19 day vacation. Plus there was no temperature control in the room and it was very hot! The screened door was hard to lock . See above
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erez (9/5): Relaxing and peacefull hotel en brugge - Iocation The pillows had a unplesant smell
- Dean (9/5): Superb -
- Sorcha (5/5): Pretty but very impractical - Very pretty room and great location - walking distance to the centre but far enough away to be quiet. Walls are paper thin and you can hear absolutely everything going on in the next room. Terraces are separated by a small divider that doesn't completely close them off, so the terrace doesn't feel completely private. When the people on the next terrace smoke, your room smells like smoke unless you close both doors to the terrace. Lights are hung really low throughout the room in inconvenient places - I regularly hit my head on them. Being on a canal means mosquitos, including in your room if you're not quick closing the screen door behind you. There is no fan or air-conditioning so the room can get a bit warm. The hot water ran out after a few minutes in the shower on my second night. When I raised a couple of these issues to the staff via message (they are nowhere to be seen on the property) they were quick to respond but they were pretty rude and unhelpful. Complete lack of concern or apology about the room being hot, having mosquitos and no hot water at one point. Not at all what I expected for this price point and I wish I hadn't stayed here.
- Verena (9/5): Superb -
- Konstantinos (8/5): Very good -
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margarita (8/5): Very good -
- Ruben (9/5): Perfect location, perfect setting, perfect beds. Real value for money. - If you can hold your breath for 20 seconds, you're gonna love this place.
Yes, they have a smelly problem in the corridor, but once you push the door of your room that is forgotten.
Beautiful use of space, very good shower, absolute calm in the green near the water on the terrace with seats, unbelievably good beds (wife slept for 10.5 hours, never happened before). Perfect situation, walking distance from railway station and from all major sites, spitting distance from Concertgebouw Smell in entrance & corridors + no personal contact whatsoever, so not very clear if & where we could leave luggage.
- Stephen (8/5): Pleasant ..no major complaints - good position ..quaint and quirky..cute terrace to watch ducks a bit dark ..could do with better mirrors .. coffee pods/milk/loo rolls/water not replenished daily
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Nutsa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paddydcsv (7/5): Next level intimacy if you are travelling with a friend - The balcony was really nice and quiet, location was really good. The "private bathroom" consisted of a shower with glass walls in the middle of the room, the toilet was barely separated. As I was travelling with a friend, this was quite a bit more intimate than we expected. It was the "Love" room, so I assume they are only used to couples travelling.
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Arnold (8/5): Very good -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - excellent position for both the parking and proximity to everything Brugge has to offer.
- Andy (8/5): communication with the host was great, locality great, wheelchair accessible. only problem was the toilet - location, decoration, small terrace, wheelchair access toilet not separated from the main living area - privacy screen not deep enough. you could see people’s knees when they were sitting on the loo.
- Sebastiano (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful City and a lovely property to stay in . - No Breskfast included , but with a central a Cafè only around the corner . I liked everything .
- Mariacatrinescu (4/5): Nice view, but dark room and no intimacy for the bathroom area at all. - The fact that has a small terrace which is open to the canal view.
The room decorations
Self check in The fact that the toilet is not separated from the room and because of that there is no intimacy, all the smell and noises get in the room and also the shower. It's not isolated from the ceiling to the floor with glass and because of this, when you make a bath all the steam is in the room, making the air very humid.
It was a permanent smell of sewage in the room, and because of that, you couldn't stay and feel comfy, so we left and with the money taken of course.
It is a dark place, you have to stay permanent with the lights on.
In the description, you don't find the fact that also the toilet is uncovered.
You cannot get understanding or refund from the owner, unfortunately.
- Ioan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - The room got a bit hot but otherwise couldn't fault it. Fab location.
- Jean (7/5): Good - Loved the layout and bed was comfortable. The pillows were small and stiff. The shower was really nice, however on one of the nights, there was no hot water. First night and morning were heavenly -- after that the neighbors were smoking on their deck and it went right into our room waking us up in the morning and making the night unpleasant. Sure wished the owners would have enforced the No Smoking policy. Location was perfect and close to the train station and city life and the canal was peaceful. We would love to return if there was a guarantee that smoking was prohibited.
- Elly (10/5): Amazing and unique stay in a very central and lovely location -
- Katherine (10/5): Relaxing and rejuvenating - Loved the location of this property. A 10 minute scenic walk into the centre of Brugge, with cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. The room was perfect, warm and the bed exceedingly comfortable. Nothing. It was truly a great place to stay.
- Annabel (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place! Right on the canal!
- Alisa (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): lovely guesthouse, made my stay in Bruges all the better! - I loved everything about this guesthouse, it was a really great location, very comfortable bed, beautiful room and a great shower, really clean and just lovely!! thank you!
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deena (10/5): tranquil spot with short walks to the train station, parks, and many Bruges sights - so very peaceful. gorgeous room with extra details to make the stay comfortable. loved the patio to enjoy the canals and little ducks swimming by. large windows brought outside in. very clear and easy check-in/check-out with luggage storage. nothing, it was great!
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Lovely place - Good location and view from the small terrace. Projector was old and very noisy. Shower gel dispenser was empty.
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb -
- Pablo (9/5): Beautiful romantic stay near the center - Beatiful romantic boutique hotel located next to one of the Brugge channels. Our room was big and nicely decorated, with all the amenities needed for a short stay. We were able to wrap ourselves on a couple blankets and enjoy a romantic night on the terrace. The bathroom walls are mostly made of glass, which may not be comfortable for every one. The terrace lacked some cleaning, there was several cleary visible spiderwebs around the plants and even some spiders, and the lighting was not working.
- Nicky (8/5): Very good - Booking.com showed photos of breakfast. And reviews saying the breakfast was excellent
They DO NOT serve breakfast.
Very misleading by Booking.com. It is not that we didn't like it.
