• Toon (5/5): - Wij verbleven onlangs in Chambre du Ruby in Durbuy en hebben over het algemeen genoten van ons verblijf. De kamer zelf was gezellig en ruim ingericht, met een comfortabel bed en een mooie badkamer voorzien van een uitstekende douche. Ook de ligging is absoluut een troef: het verblijf bevindt zich in een charmant straatje met een authentieke middeleeuwse sfeer, wat perfect past bij het karakter van Durbuy. De toegang via het codeslot verliep bovendien erg vlot en praktisch. Een klein minpuntje aan de kamer is dat ze vrij donker aanvoelt. Het is jammer dat er geen “groot” centraal licht aanwezig is, waardoor de verlichting eerder beperkt blijft, zeker ’s avonds. Een belangrijk aandachtspunt is ook de parkeergelegenheid. We wisten op voorhand dat parkeren niet vlakbij mogelijk was, maar de afstand van de parking naar het verblijf bleek toch groter dan verwacht, zeker met bagage. Daarnaast was er in het weekend behoorlijk wat geluidsoverlast. Naast het verblijf ligt een wijnbar waar mensen buiten komen roken en vaak letterlijk vlak aan de deur blijven praten. Ook discotheek La Cave zorgde voor veel lawaai tot zeer laat in de nacht, waarbij de trillingen van de muziek duidelijk hoorbaar en voelbaar waren in de kamer. Wat voor ons echter het meest storend was, is de zeer beperkte geluidsisolatie tussen het gelijkvloers en de eerste verdieping. Je hoort werkelijk alles wat boven gebeurt en gezegd wordt. Dit zorgde ervoor dat we weinig rust ervaarden tijdens ons verblijf, wat vooral ’s nachts erg hinderlijk was. Kortom: een mooi en sfeervol verblijf op een toplocatie in hartje Durbuy, maar wie gevoelig is aan geluidsoverlast houdt hier best rekening mee, zeker tijdens weekends.

De entree langs de buitenzijde is wat onverzorgd. Wel wat luidruchtig id avond, maar je zit wel in een stadje ;-). Overdag is het wel vrij donker binnen...

• Alice (7/5): It was really nice but could’ve been better if the place was more clean - The place is beautiful. The decoration, the furniture. Location is also great. The check-in was easy as the check out too. For the price we paid we expected that the apartment would have been better cleaned. There was a lot of dust in the place (looked like old dust) that hasn’t been cleaned since long time ago. Some pans and glasses in the kitchen were also dusty. The makeup mirror in the bathroom was detaching from the wall, looked like it could fall off. The coffe machine and the shower handle were full of limescale. These are things that need to be better cleaned to receive the guests in our opinion .Also for the price we paid for the apartment which was €258 for only one night, we didn’t expect we had to pay €8 to light some fire in the fire place? This could be included in the price actually.
• Malicia (7/5): - Nous avons beaucoup aimés l’emplacement qui est en plein centre et également l’ambiance donné à l’appartement. La décoration est sublime. Il doit y avoir un bar ou autre pas loin car nous avons été réveillés plusieurs fois dans la nuit par de la forte musique & par les basses. Nous avons alors compris pourquoi des boules Quies étaient sur la table de nuit 😞😕

• Ceuppens (4/5): weggesmeten geld - het verblijf was heel mooi en de eigenaar was heel vriendelijk aan de telefoon. niettegenstaande dat het een heel knap ingerichte suite was, is deze alles behalve praktisch. De suite is verspreid over 2 verdiepingen, het slaapgedeelte bevind zich boven onder het dak. De trap naar het eerste verdiep is ongelofelijk smal, stijl en levensgevaarlijk. Een grote valies mee naar boven nemen is praktisch onmogelijk. 's nachts naar het toilet beneden gaan is een risicovol avontuur als je je partner niet wil wakker maken. Het slaapgedeelte bevind zich onder het dak dat zo slecht geïsoleerd is tegen het geluid. Het nachtlawaai van de bar een straat verderop is constant hoorbaar tot 0330hr. Om 0500 hr beginnen de duiven over het dak te lopen en dat is nog storender. Op het nachtkastje lagen twee sets oordopjes, dat zegt genoeg... Wat mij nog enorm gestoord heeft is het slot. Eens je binnen bent ben je verplicht om een QR code te scannen dat je naar een YouTube filmpje brengt waar de eigenaar dan uitlegt hoe het slot werkt en hoe je naar buiten kan... En dit voor 260euro voor een nacht.... de suite bereik je in een donker achteruit gelegen steegje. Om de deur te openen moet je een code invoeren. Het toetsenbord hangt hoog en volledig in het donker... Neen dank je, één keer maar geen twee keer

• Annelies (8/5): Heel fijn in mooie omgeving. - Locatie in de stad. Het was netjes, en dichtbij de winkels en restaurantjes. Ruim voor 2 personen. Met eigen kook gelegenheid indien gewenst. Wij hebben alleen van het bed gebruik gemaakt, dat was prima. Minder geschikt voor lange mensen, mijn partner is 2m, de douche en het bed waren te kort/laag voor hem. Net als de schuine kant boven. Mensen die kleiner zijn hebben daar waarschijnlijk geen last van. Het appartement is erg donker, dat trok me aan bij het boeken, in de praktijk ging het na een tijdje tegenstaan. Voor 1 nacht prima maar langer zou ik niet fijn gevonden hebben.

• Haller (10/5): Short but sweet! Would recommend! - I surprised my partner with an evening away. He did fly in very early, the owner was so kind to let us check in early so we could explore Durbuy the whole day. The appartment was clean, beautiful, great location right where you want to be. I will for sure book this again! It is a duplex with livingroom + kitchen + toilet downstairs - bedroom + bathroom upstairs. Beautiful!

• Astrining (1/5): Didn't stay. The customer service is rude and bad. - I just caught a glimpse of one of the rooms downstairs when I walked around the street. It seems nice and looks like the picture, but it's smaller. I thought it was a scam: no welcome message or instruction on checking in. I tried to message and call them asking about it and if they have any shuttle days before my arrival (cause apparently there was no taxi or public transport from Bomal station to Durbuy on weekends). Still, there was no response until it was already too late. We stayed for hours at Bomal station trying to figure out how to get to the property without walking, and we finally figured out the number on the site was a WhatsApp call ONLY. When the host FINALLY called us back, he admitted he had missed our message from 3 days ago. And he rejected my refund request. I had to book another hotel cause I really thought this place was a scam. Thankfully, a shuttle from the new hotel was able to pick us up. If they only accept WhatsApp, they should clearly state this somewhere, not confuse and blame the guest! This is unacceptable!

• Maike (8/5): Unusual but lovingly decorated - Beautifully and lovingly decorated, quite unusual too! Perfect for a couple, for friends not quite so much as the door between bedroom and bathroom is not solid. It would have been nice to be told before getting to the place that we were supposed to call the owner. As it was we stood there for a while until we could speak in order to get instructions on how to get in. But the little gift in the fridge helped getting over this ;-)

Our room was located on the ground floor of a pedestrian street, and we were worried that it might be noisy from nearby bars, but there were no problems at all. 5 mins walk from public parking, there are many bars and cafes 2-3 minutes walk away. Especially I would like to note the interior design, multi-level lighting of the room and pleasant relaxing music. A complimentary bottle of cava was waiting for us in the room, which was highly appreciated after a long journey.

The amazing chimney, although we didnt manage to make fire on the second night, not very talented 🙃 There is no possibility to leave a window opened when you go outside, thus when returning it is a bit stuffy Air Inside, but opening the doors then helps. We didnt like much the matress.
