Eu gostaria que houvesse ventilador no quarto (prefiro ao ar condicionado), mas o ar condicionado funciona muito bem. Como os mosquitos incomodam bastante, seria bom ter um repelente difusor no quarto.

O facto da casa de banho ser complementado por 2 chuveiros exteriores, mas que não ordenais usar, infelizmente, dada a hora, o mau tempo, os mosquitos... Saímos muito cedo, no dia do check out, 6.15 h da manhã e, apesar disso é do pequeno almoço só começar às 7 h, conseguiram providenciar café, sumo natural de maracujá, fruta, tapioca, bolo caseiro, bastante atencioso e bem gostoso. Duas coisas, ambas importantes, a que ter ATENÇÃO: 1 - A enorme quantidade de melgas e mosquitos, sobretudo no quarto e na casa de banho. Houve que uma verdadeira "caça" e cobrirmos-nos de repelente! Convém avisar os hóspedes, pelo menos à chegada; 2 - o facto de as janelas serem apenas os buracos com portadas, ou seja, NÃO TÊM VIDROS NEM SEQUER UMA REDE MOSQUITEIRA (apenas na casa de banho tem vidro); torna-se mais grave pelo antes referido (melgas e mosquitos). Chegamos a meio da tarde, ensopados de uma forte e prolongada chuvada, na hora mais agressiva dos mosquitos, exatamente, fomos abrir as portadas (que estavam todas fechadas) para termos luz natural e, qual não foi o nosso espanto, a seguir às portadas quer da janela quer da varanda, nada havia!!! E esse aviso tinha que constar no Booking. Ou seja, se não der para ter as janelas abertas ou se está às escuras ou com luz acesa.

Único ponto de atenção é que a torneira do banheiro quase não tinha água, o fluxo era bem lento. E não é tão perto do Centro para quem está sem carro.

A ideia da ducha alternativa em ambiente privativo é muito legal. Os funcionários são muito atenciosos. A pia do banheiro poderia sair um pouco mais de água. Seria bom também um espaço para estacionar veículo.

The breakfast and meals were excellent, and Thiago was incredibly kind and welcoming. • Tania Beck (8/5): - The staff were very friendly, they make amazing cakes, especially their pineapple cake which we ended up ordering to take with us when we left. We arrived very early in the morning and were not able to check in but they let us in and allowed us to rest in their hammocks as we were exhausted from our long trip. The staff were very accommodating and we felt very welcomed there. Their dinner menu was also very good and I ended up ordering the same meal a few dinners in a row. Apart from the accommodation itself, there wasn't much to do in the little town of Santo Amaro. People are mostly there to visit the national park and not stay in the town.

• bruno (7/5): Charmosa e staff excelente, mas muitas rãs/pererecas - A pousada tem um estilo mais casual/rústico e é cuidadosa nos detalhes, até bacia de água para lavar os pés na frente dos quartos tem e até baú com livros para crianças no restaurante. O café da manhã é completo e tem sucos regionais, e o restaurante serve opções gostosas de comida em um ambiente bonito. Selma e Thiago são muito atenciosos. A pousada precisa URGENTEMENTE colocar vedação nas portas (tipo telas de mosquito), apenas os rodapés de porta de areia não são suficientes. Nós ficamos no chalé 01 e não conseguimos dormir na última noite porque entraram 5 rãs e pererecas (que pulavam muito alto). Algumas delas, as menores, vimos que entraram pela fresta superior da porta. A noite foi horrível e chamamos o Thiago e o Seu Raimundo o tempo todo para tirar esses bichos. Provavelmente isso aconteceu nas noites anteriores, mas dormimos profundamente. Além disso, seria bom colocar TV nos quartos ou então piscina, pois depois do jantar, não tem o que fazer lá, o tempo passa devagar. Só o redário não é suficiente. Apesar dos pontos positivos e da equipe ser bem atenciosa, a infestação de rãs e pererecas foi tão traumatizante que não nos hospedaríamos novamente aqui até que os pontos mencionados fossem melhorados!

Todos os dias à tarde, na entrada do bangalô nos esperava uma bacia com água e flores, na frente dos bancos de entrada para tirarmos a areia dos pés!! Adorei!! Também possui restaurante muito bom, com um redário para descanso. O bangalô e banheiro com bom espaço. Tem o chuveiro interno e o chuveiro a céu aberto para curtir a vista das estrelas. Tudo muito bom. Para tornar a experiência ainda melhor, sugiro uma cerca viva no bangalô 04, uma vez que a varanda com a rede e a janela têm visão diretamente para a rua.

• Silva (10/5): Se eu conhecesse todas as palavras bonitas do alfabeto, ainda faltariam expressões pra que eu conseguisse dizer tudo o q - Difícil dizer o que eu mais gostei. Eu saí apaixonada, energizada, feliz e preenchida. Tudo era lindo, aconchegante, poético e delicioso! Fui embora, literalmente, chorando de saudade! O nosso quarto era grande e equipado com tudo que precisávamos para uma estadia perfeita. Com toalhas grossas, cobertas limpas e quentinhas, secador de cabelo, duas pias e chuveiros externo e interno. O ar condicionado gelava em segundos e cada cantinho da pousada tinha um lugar pra você descansar os olhos e preencher a alma. O fato de terem poucas acomodações trouxe uma atmosfera de intimidade com os demais hóspedes e foi bacana por demais ter essa troca com as histórias de outras pessoas. A água do chuveiro quente era um pouco mais fraca, mas isso não atrapalhou a experiência!

Excellent food- I really appreciated many gluten free options including a gluten free pasta that I ordered three times it was so tasty. The staff is very kind. My husband was able to order a surprise gluten free cake for my birthday that was delivered to our room with a lovely note right when we came back from a tour. The common area with restaurants and hammocks is peaceful and the evening light is warm and cozy. One day one of our tours dropped us off and the whole tour group wanted to know more about what this nice place was with beautiful lighting and exterior and if the restaurant is open to non guests (it is). I saw some negative reviews on Google but I think it's because people came in with big city and/or big hotel expectations. This is a cute boutique with a handful of rooms.

The friendly staff came out into the rain and helped me get my car back to a place where I could park. This is above and beyond. 11 out of 10. If you could put stones or something in front of the entrance to your place that would be pretty helpful. Lol

We were offered welcome drinks, everyone was friendly, caring and even arranged pick ups and small private jet for us to get to another town. The room was also perfect - clean, comfortable, no mosquitoes, two showers, comfy beds. Breakfast and dinner was perfect. We loved the food, ceviche was brilliant and we even got wine which was really good. We are grateful to Thiago and the team for such a pleasant stay! You are great guys!

• Martin (8/5): A lovely place to stay when touring Lençois Maranhenses - This is a lovely, quaint place to stay in Santo Amaro. The chalets are comfortable and spacious, and the breakfast was simple but very nice. We dined in the restaurant on one of our nights and the food was delicious. The premises themselves are quite basic. There is a central shaded area in the grounds where 6 hammocks are located, which is a lovely spot to relax or read. Staff were always helpful and very friendly. The village centre is a pleasant 10 minute walk away. Importantly, this is a great base from where to tour Lençois, better in our opinion than Atins or Barreirnas, and we toured from all 3 locations. We felt that overall the room rate was unreasonably high. Also, it would be misleading not to mention the independent water and waste treatment systems on site. They function very well - but carry the smell of hydrogen sulphide (a perfectly safe but very unpleasant odour akin to rotten eggs) each time the sink, shower or toilet is used.

• Allan (10/5): Exceptional - Staying at Quintal de Areias was the perfect choice for Santo Amaro. It's close enough to the National Park, making easy to start every tour to the lagoons, and offers a very good restaurant, with a regional cuisine full of local flavours. As everything in Santo Amaro, it's a small place, which, in this case, makes it more charming and cozy. The room is of a very nice size, very clean and tidy, counts with double sink and inside and outside showers (which was surprising and exotic). Breakfast is served in outside patio, a very beautiful place, full of trees, flowers and vegetation. It's a handcraft experience, since there's no self service table, but itens are brought to you at your table. It's possible to order tapioca and omelet, as well as fresh juices. As the city doesn't have water treatment system and places use the water from the river, it has a strong sulfur smell. Despite of that, as we talked to the manager, the property has its own treatment system, so the water is clean. She said they're going to build a new larger water tank, so decantation process will allow the property not to have this smell in the water.

• Daniel (9/5): Private comfortable chalet in remote location - Cassio the manager was exceptional. Always smiling and helpful. Attention to detail - when it was raining we came out of our chalet to find an umbrella waiting. When we came home from the tours there was a soap flower dish of water to wash our very sandy feet. Room - large room, comfortable bed, amazing double outdoor shower (plus also an indoor heated shower). Nice view out the windows with deck. Very private. Chalet to yourself. Aircon worked well. Internet worked well. Common areas - a nice hammock area to relax in and read books etc. The restaurant area was comfortable with nice character. Breakfast was varied and delicious. We enjoyed the omelettes, fresh squeezed juice and coconut couscous every day. Option of lunch and dinner at the restaurant which worked well after a big tour day..delicious home styled food. Location was fine for us - about 1 km to main street / centre. This could be an issue for people with mobility problems. There were large beautiful windows in the room with a great outlook. We were reluctant to leave them open overnight due to mosquitos / insects. Adding fly screens would help this and may also minimise air con usage due to the nice breeze that flows through.
