• Emil (10/5): - Es war eine super tolle Unterkunft. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und die Zimmer waren sehr gut! Der Strand ist 20 m entfernt und man kann in 2 Minuten auf die andere Seite laufen. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und es gab eine sehr gute Klimaanlage. Und glaubt mir: die braucht man hier! Ich werde wiederkommen!

• Fabienne (9/5): Einfach und entspannend - Wir haben uns in dem Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Es liegt direkt am Strand und doch sehr nahe am Stadtzentrum. Wir konnten auf der Terrasse essen, die Aussicht geniessen und wurden von einer süssen Katze besucht. Toll, war das warme Wasser beim Duschen und die Klimaanlage.

• Zoa (8/5): Noche perfecta mirando al caribe - Tortuguero es pequeñito y está todo cerca así que esta habitación enfrente de la playa la convierte en una de las mejores opciones. El trato con el personal fue de 10, te recogen y te llevan con mucha amabilidad. Es fresca y hasta tiene una duchita fuera para quitarte la arena y la sal de la playa. La recomendaría 100%.

• Karen (10/5): PERFECTO - La ubicación es perfecta. Tortuguero es pequeño, se llega rapido a todas partes. Me encanto que quedará al frente de la playa aunque no se pueda nadar en la playa. El lugar es perfecto.
• Christine (7/5): Lovely location for a 3 night stay in Tortuguero. Quite basic accommodation. - Its location facing the beach a short walk from the hustle and bustle of. We had a kitchen although it was not brilliantly equipped. The bathroom was dated , there was a cockroach and unlike the next door apartment we had a plastic bench whereas they had a wooden bench and matching small table .
• Rachel (7/5): Pour deux nuits, c'était très bien. Lit propre, petit frigo, salle de bain avec douche. - L'emplacement était très bien. Pas trop au centre du village donc très tranquille avec le bruit de la mer; c'était très bien. Nous avons fait la rando pédestre dans le parc de Tortuguero, vraiment nice ! La plage était décevante. Beaucoup de débris sur la plage et la mer était très agitée; nous n'avons pas pu se baigner.

• Birgit (8/5): Sehr nette Unterkunft mit Meerblick - Kleines aber sehr liebevoll hergerichtetes Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung:Wasserkocher, Kaffee und Tee, kleiner Kühlschrank und perfekt funktionierende Klimaanlage. Dazu eine kleine Terrasse mit Hängematten und Blick auf das Meer.Perfekt zum chillen!
• Femke (8/5): Onmisbaar! - Perfecte ligging, heerlijke hangmatten, douche is prima. Bedden zijn zacht en slapen heerlijk. Airco maakt wel wat geluid, maar is niet storend tegenover de verkoeling. Keuken heeft alles om je te voorzien Klemmende deuren, verder een paar kleine punten, maar dat weegt niet af tegenover de bereikbaarheid en service vanuit de host.

• Guiheux (8/5): Emplacement top! A 10 pas de la plage et à 5 minutes du centre. - Emplacement top! A 10 pas de la plage, à 5 minutes de la rue principale où l'on peut trouver les restaurants et les tours opérateurs. Les hamacs, super. Excellente literie. L'équipement de cuisine est suffisant. Odeur d'humidité, surtout dans la chambre. Fenêtres qui s'ouvrent difficilement et ne se ferment pas complètement.

• Ana (10/5): Recomendadísimo - El alojamiento estaba muy limpio, justo enfrente de la playa. A 5 minutos del "centro del pueblo" lo cual lo hace más silencioso y cómodo. La cama es comodísima y las cortinas son las más opacas que hemos encontrado en Costa Rica.

• Sean (10/5): A touch of seclusion - If you want to escape the confused wandering bands of German and French tourists at least for a little while, stay on the ocean side. This place has a much appreciated feeling of seclusion, and the sound of the ocean at night is worth the price.
• Tom (10/5): This place is perfect for a couple a group of four or six friends or a family, I will definitely stay there again - As close as you can get to the beach in a five minute walk to Main Street. There are two apartments in this house. The big room has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room. The smaller room just had a bed and a washroom. Both were very spacious and very very clean. The owner responded to all inquiries within minutes. very helpful with any questions we had aboutthe area. There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this property.
• Justinas (9/5): Good stay at peaceful location near the ocean - It is well located near the beach. Host works with local tour company and it’s super easy to arrange activities. Everything was fluent. WiFi speed was quite good if you compare to other locations in Costa Rica, although sometimes it was off. I guess thats why there are two WiFi networks available 😀 We didn’t have where to hang wet clothes.
• Edinaldo (4/5): I stayed in a place that needs a bit of care and love. - The place is in front of the beach. Foot in the sand, and although it is not possible to swim in the sea, you can still get your ankles wet. It is also nice walking on the sand and even in the national park, next to the beach. One air-conditioning in the bedroom. Not sure if it didn't work or we didn't know how to make it work, but it didn't cool down the room. There is a very strong mold smell in the air. The sofa had mold all over it and the microwave hadn't been cleaned for a while.
• Vanessa (5/5): Passable - It's located in front of the beach with a very nice view. Moreover the place is close to the centre of the village. The room was equipped with a fridge and a water boiler, which is always helpful. The facilities are not super comfortable and smell a bit like mold. The fridge is kind of noisy during the night, and the shower has no pressure. It looks like the place needs some renovations.
• Aäron (5/5): Dangerous shower! Fix it - Location First of all, I wrote this in a private message to the host during our stay, but they didn't respond. The shower is dangerous! It's an electric heatingsystem in the showerhead. you can see the cables. Feels like a suicide shower. When I used it, I wanted to change the temperature, and I got an electric shock from the unit. Be really careful. We wanted to move to another place but decided to stay because it would be a lot of hassle, and there's an outside shower which we were going to use. On our second day, there was a guy that randomly showed up, collecting the money. He didn't have change, so he made a little calculation of dollars and colones together. I'm not really sure if this was the right amount. Would have been better if they just charged us via booking. It's especially weird that you come and collect the money without change. But we told him about the shower. He took off the electricity, so now we could shower safe, but only with cold water. The room was a bit dirty and old. We couldn't use the hammocks properly on our side because the hanging system is old and rusty, so we hung them on the neighbours side because there was nobody. Also, you are being filmed on the porch, chilling in the hammock. Would not stay here again, and we actually wanted to leave to another place. Unfortunately, this was a lot of hassle. To the owner: please get that shower fixed. Electricity and water is not a joke. All the others are up to whatever people expect from it.

• Jo (7/5): For the price good value for money if you're looking for basic accommodation right on the beach - Location was right on the beach, so was wonderful to be able to see and hear the waves. The local cats were very friendly! The room was very dark, so felt a bit gloomy. But I knew it was going to be very basic. It was hard to keep mud/dirt from outside from going into the room, so I was sweeping up alot! There wasn't much communication from the owners, so I didn't really know what to do upon check-out.

• Warren (6/5): Tortuguero is somewhere i’ve always wanted to visit, glad i did. - What’s not to like about tortuguero, it’s a sensational place, turtle bogue was ok, great location right on front of the beach, awful showers and beds. We were met by a very nice guy from the harbour who showed us our accommodation, everyone is trying to sell something on this island when the trip from car park gives you everything, the boat ride is magical as is the wildlife. The beds in the room were awful, the shower just as bad, the one bedroom had air on with no air conditioning in the main living space, if they swapped that around then it would be more comfortable.
• Vera (6/5): Great location but in need of serious maintenance - - Great location - the mattress was very uncomfortable (it had a depression in the middle) and needs to be replaced urgently - there are no hangers or anywhere to put some clothes (except for two plastic chairs) - the room and bathroom need some maintenance (lots of cracks, everything is old and in need of repair) - we never saw the owner or staff (check in and payment was made to a guide that pick us up from the boat)

• Jeanette (8/5): Idyllic beachfront cabin - Idyllic location facing the ocean. Close to everything but quiet and relaxing. Managers very responsive. Description listed coffee machine and clothes rack, but room had neither. A few of the electrical sockets did not work. Only 1 cup and saucer (plus 2 glasses). Nowhere to put/hang clothes. A few simple hooks would help.
• Louis (9/5): Great place in front of the beach - Literally in front of the beach! Unbeatable quality price ratio. We enjoyed a lot the terrace and the location. Room a bit outdated, and you can hear the apartment/room next door. But overall a very good place to stay!
• Anne (9/5): Good-value spacious self catering apartment - Very spacious room with all the equipment to self cater. The bed was comfy and loved the option to hang out in the hammock outside listen to the waves crashing! The staff was very helpful and they have some amazing guides that they work with (especially Kevin went out of his way to organise a tour for us). Good value for money. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the pillows are a bit hard? And the freezer struggled to keep our ice cream frozen, just small things...
• Adam (8/5): Very good - It’s superb location, right on the beach. Great aircon, lovely inside space…plenty of room and kitchen facilities ok. After arriving we were told that the villa wasn’t actually available for our first night and we were put up in a very poor, substandard room down the road. We didn’t pay for this !!!! We checked in on our 2nd day! The shower/shower head needs improving and some more outside furniture would be nice.

• Ayelén (10/5): Exceptional - We spent only 1 night to do a night tour. The room was very nice, super clean, with AC, which was so important as it was too hot outside. The house is just in front of the sea so you can hear at night the sound of the waves, it was so relaxing. Also, in the room there were coffee, tea, and some candies. We really loved our stay here. Thank you! Nothing to say.
• Domenic (10/5): Great little beachfront room, excellent tours. - Literally right across from the beach, you can hear the waves crashing at night. The room was comfortable, included instant coffee. The guides that work with the hotel were some of the best we’ve ever had, the tours were like a real life David Attenborough special. No complaints.
• Robyn (8/5): Very good - The location steps away from the Caribbean is unbeatable for the price. A short walk from the center of the village. It was also nice that the people at the La Pavona dock knew were coming and that we were greated once we arrived in Tortuguero. The apartment could use some sprucing up. It was clean but it's age is showing. Despite this, I would stay again considering the other pricy alternatives.

• Sharon (8/5): Neat ‘beach-house’ experience, right on the water - We’re glad to have had the experience of staying right on the water. The location is very calming and beautiful. The house was clean and well-equipped. We appreciated having the air conditioner in the bedroom for overnight. The rest of the time we enjoyed the lovely breeze coming from the water. It was nice to be able to walk around town. We would have felt a little more comfortable if security was higher, especially for the living room window. It’s a bit of a dark walk from the town to the house after 6pm. It might be a little nerve-wracking for a person alone. Could have used better pillows too.
• Cynthia (7/5): Adequate but not great. - As advertised, this accommodation was right on the beach and close to all amenities and tours. Nothing really bad but just not a great place overall. There were definitely a lot of places in the area that looked like better quality for the price. There was no one to meet us at the boat dock and the town is a bit of a rabbit warren so we had a hard time finding the place. There was no paved walkway to the hotel, which was mostly fine until it rained.

• Hannah (5/5): cheap, but not really a hotel - location (right on the beach), aircon, price Not really a hotel just a room on the beach, worried about security as it was right on a foot path, had bars on the window and a camera but still felt quite alone.
