- Michael (7/5): Authentic architecture and décor with modern amenities right in the ancient town. - Location - Being in the ancient city area added authenticity and also meant there was plenty of access to a wide variety of shops and eating places. It was very easy to get a DiDi when needed. Room - much of the décor and architecture seemed original. The addition of a modern bathroom and fireplace makes the room more comfortable. Service - friendly and willing to help with just about anything guests asked them about. Breakfast - the breakfast was very basic with only a few items available. We booked the room a bit over two months in advance. We advised them at the time that we were expecting a late arrival due to the arrival time of our flight. When we arrived around the time we had originally advised there was no-one at reception and no way of contacting them. When someone finally arrived at reception it seemed that they had no record of our booking or of our late arrival. We were provided with bigger room for the same price. When we were taken to the room, the heater was switched on but it took many hours for the room to warm up. The bed had an electric blanket but with no controller to attach it to the power.

The evening before I left the receptionist promised to get a taxi so that I can be on time for the train. He never helped and I had to got to the other hotel to get help, I almost missed my train because of this. So irresponsible!

- Raphaële (4/5): Disappointing - The room was big and close to the old city. Even though the room was big, there was not much to put our belongings as the wardrobes were taped. The room wasn’t clean and we found used fake eyelashes in the bathroom. They kept some dogs near the windows that were barking at night. The hotel lobby was really messy and had a cage with a kitten in it which gave a gloomy atmosphere. For the price I would have really expected a better hotel.
- Ran (3/5): Uncomfortable, smelly and short. - The hotel was located on a nice street close to some restaurants and the city center. We also liked the interior design with a lot of pretty wood elements, traditional ornaments and carpets. On the second look, the hotel is pretty run down. We already had a feeling when waiting for a very long time before check-in in the smelly lobby with a lot of caged cats between smelly carpets and furniture. Also, the room turned out to be super smelly because the drainage from the bathroom was not working properly as well as the whole room (deluxe suite) had no windows that were built to be opened. But the worst was that there was a construction site right in front of our room that no one from the hotel told us about. We woke up at 6am in the morning to dozens of men right in front of our room throwing bricks and pipes around, what an absolute disgrace to not tell us before. Sadly, nobody of the staff nor the owner via phone were willing to find a solution.
- Arnik (8/5): Very good - The bed and the toilet seat is equipped with heater. The location is very close to the old town. Free up snacks and fruits. The place is decorated in tradition Tibetien style. The place is a bit rundown compare to the pictures in the wensite.
- Kean (7/5): Leo is the man! - Leo seemed to be everywhere helping us during our stay. He was the main reason that we would remember Blue Mountains. The electric blanket didn’t work although there were an electric fireplace and a portable heater.

I could see also that the place could be pretty in spring or summer when there are lots of flowers I also got the room half of the usual price so to me it is a good deal but if I had to pay full price I might think twice They don’t really help you with your luggages. I traveled with old parents. It would be nice if they would give a hand
- Nalin (9/5): I’m happy with the stay and service. If look for Tibetan style room, I recommend. - I chose to stay here due to Tibetan room style. At first, I booked another room on second floor but it had strong smell pipe so the staff upgraded me to another bigger room downstair. Also, main heater is not warm enough for whole room but they gave me extra one to survive the cold night. Staff is nice and helpful. Read a lot comments about carpet smell but I didn’t have this issue. Smart toilet with heated seat. The shower room has big glass window but curtain size seems to be too fit with window size (I may overthink on privacy as no ppl walk pass by the back of hotel alley) and this big window made restroom very cold. The location is alright. However, I’m solo traveler and I feel it’s a bit dark and too quiet when walked back around 8pm.

- C.sun (9/5): Immersive decor - Amazing interior decor, both in public areas and the rooms, creating an immersive Tibetan atmosphere. Cozy central courtyard with self-serve tea and snacks. Friendly staff and cat. We stayed at the family suite, which had a large sitting area in front of the electric fireplace, where we all gathered in the evening. Located on the edge of the old town, meaning a rather quiet area, but still quite convenient to reach the busier areas. Hotel owner helped to book a car to pick us up from Lijiang, passing by Tiger leaping gorge. The bathroom had a slight smell, and there were traces of humidity. Some lack of privacy because there was a curtain instead of a door, but we managed.

- Gih (6/5): Good location - Spacious and easy access to old town, food and stores. The open lounge area with fruits, snack, coffee and tea is an enjoyable area to hang out. There is a clear panel in the ceiling of the room on the top floor allowing the strong sunlight to come in. It is unbearable if you wish to rest in the room during the day. If you are not fit, the climb up to the higher floor can be taxing at high altitude.

Shangri-La is super cold place but the hostel toilet bowl is digital with temperature. When u go toilet is comfy. 😁 I went to Lijiang & Dali also without this facilities. Host got offer book car return Lijiang & Shangri-La, price also reasonable. Hostel provide 2 heater., room it's big, breakfast it's delicious. Recommended Not really
- Zhanna (9/5): Superb - The room is fantastic, it looks so authentic and has so many pleasant interesting details,such as tea table, electric fireplace, very comfy beds ( our room has 3 large ones) beautiful decorations, warm floors and even heated toilet ☺️. The staff were very helpful and nice. We are really enjoying our stay! -
- K (10/5): Exceptional - The room was lovely. The heater kept it warm. It was very big, The bed was so soft and warm. There was a nice view. The water stayed warm in the bathroom. It was very close to the walking streets. It was very quiet. Nothing.
- Stefano (7/5): Traditional place in Shangri-La old town - Room was big, furnished in traditional tibetan style. Hotel is located in Shangri-la old town so it was easy to get restaurants and attractions. We stayed at the Blue moon one night in December. Hotel staff gave us electric heaters since there was no heating system. No breakfast due to Covid epidemic.

- Esteban (6/5): Nice Traditional Option - Hotel it’s built with a traditional Tibetan style, very beautiful, the rooms are big and comfortable plus the location it’s very convenient, right on the old town which perfect!! In general the hotel is nice but they should pay more attention to the carpeting floors are very beautiful but very dirty at the same time, the breakfast options are very limited ( I personally enjoyed it but some of my friends find it difficult because of the lack of options)

- Angelina (8/5): Rustic hotel in a great location - Really comfortable, huge bed. The property is in traditional Tibetan style and rustic. Had an electric fireplace to make the room warm and a Japanese toilet. The bathroom was clean. The staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The shower was tricky to adjust and the water went in random directions. The bathroom door is wooden so was a little rotten from the water. The breakfast was a bit limited (my own personal view, some could like it).
- Agnieszka (6/5): Overall, the stay was acceptable for the price we paid, but will not revisit this property. - Good location, quiet surrounding. The room was big and with very good natural lighting. The bed was comfy, there was a proper heating in the room. We could use the washing machine to do our laundry. The bathroom is newly renovated and there is a modern automatic toilet. There is a whole set for making a tea on the table and the Wi-Fi works well. Dirty carpets, dust under the bed-seemed like they didn’t clean there for a while. There are stains on armchairs. For our three nights stay, the staff only changed the slippers and towels once (towels when we requested). The floors gave out a very unstable feeling while walking. The guy at the reception wasn’t really willing to help us organize anything. The only breakfast option are noodles which we decided not to eat not because of a bad taste but because of the girl who kept on sneezing over the food while making them.
- Chris (4/5): Great place let down by poor cleanliness - Decent traditional Tibetan building in a convenient part of town, close enough to the old centre to be able to reach everywhere on foot but far enough away to be out of the bustle and noise. Breakfasts were basic but tasty. There was only one issue and that was with the carpets which are apparently swept rather than vacuumed. This meant that two in our party who suffer from allergies woke up during the night and in the mornings with streaming eyes and nose. If the carpets could be given a regular deep clean as well as daily vacuuming this hotel would be much improved.
