Guest Reviews
- Tammy (10/5): - I thought it was very friendly services, really welcoming. True Colombian hospitality and felt right at ease. If your planning to party in the center, the gates do close at 11 and you will need to get a taxi back. But this isn't really that kind of environment, this is a detox somewhere different and unique.
- Janina (10/5): - I had such a wonderful time there ! I loved it so much . It feels like home .. it feels like Family!
- Anna (10/5): -
- Luis (10/5): -

- Alejandro (10/5): Your home in Mocoa - Hostal Luna llena feels like being at home with your family in Mocoa. Grandparents Luis and Cecilia as well as their grandson Richard make you feel truly welcomed and loved. Luis and Richard are super attentive to detail and Cecilias cooking is out of this world. Bed is super comfortable , a very peaceful environment.
- Guest (10/5): Muy recomendable - El ambiente , el espacio, la familia es muy amable
- John (10/5): Amazing hostal, amazing family, and lots to do in Mocoa it’s wifi a beautiful place -
- Teodora (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): I would definitely stay here again next time!! - The family was amazing. They took us in as one of them and provided everything we needed. They put together a great little itinerary for us including waterfalls, traditional ceremonies and amazing food. We are very thankful for what they did for us. God bless Richard and the family.
- Torbjørn (10/5): Exceptional - Luiz and the family made me feel like home at once I arrived. with good outdoor area and located outside the city it's perfect if you like nature and tranquility.
i recomend to rent the motorbike that was in good concondition. it's a good way to explore the amazing scenery around mocoa.
- Dennis (9/5): Superb - Very friendly staff and good kitchen facilities. Our room faced the street which was very noisy.
- Elisha (10/5): Exceptional - Super helpful and fun Staff:)
- Bigtheo (10/5): Exceptional - My favourite hostel in the whole world. Also they have a guitar there. The owners, workers, the whole family is welcoming and very likeable. The services and accomodations and on point and I will be back!
- Eva (10/5): Incredibly friendly staff and peaceful place - Located far away from city center, so it's calm and quiet place. Friendly staff, coffee for free, good kitchen.
- Naima (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niko (9/5): Superb -
- Alejandro (2/5): I won't back. I don't even recommend the place. - Guests from different parts of the world. Noisy neighbor with high volume music. Rooms with no fan and no aircon and much hot. No hot water on bathrooms. Disrispectful treatment.Owners must learn about what is good service and human rights. No reasonable stores around.
- Karina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helene (10/5): Perfect place - A very lovely family run hostal I liked everything
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Soo friendly people, felt really welcomed
- Alfredo (7/5): Cheap stay on the outskirts of Mocoa - The staff is really amazing, they make you feel like home. The location is terrible! Is way to far from the city and the taxis are really expensive. If you came to Mocoa for the Waterfalls this in not your place.
- Anonymous (10/5): The place to be when in Mocoa - The host is absolutely amazing. He makes everything so you have a great stay. Really appreciate it and it made me wanna stay longer than planed. You really feel at home.
- Gabor (9/5): Superb - Wonderful owners , very welcoming, simple and cheap home cooked meals. Exceptionally clean and friendly place.
Set up high with nice views and catches a good breeze. Like any places outside of Macoa proper, it is a bit of a trek to get to town.
- Andrés (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shinya (9/5): impressive - amazing stuff, amazing guests the bed was not the best
- Marco (9/5): Amazing people, very welcoming and helpful. Great shared kitchen, very nice stay. I recommend. - Feels like home, with family. Cold shower.
- Elisa (10/5): Amazing!!! - The best hostel I ever been!!! Our plan was staying 2 nights but at the end we stayed almost 2 weeks. From the first moment we felt part of a family. The owners are lovely persons and they know how to make you feel at home. Everything is clean, the location is perfect and the shared kitchen is well equipped. I hope we can go back one day. Nothing!!!
- Erkut (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful hostel ran by a beautiful family. Clean rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Well-equipped kitchen too!
- Joachim (10/5): Best hostal in Mocoa! - Definitely the friendliest hostal hosts in Mocoa! They have breakfast, lunch or dinners if you wish.
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - lovely atmosphere created by an amazing family who runs the place. there is no better hostel in Mocoa a bit far from the town but you have quiet and can always walk or hitchhike :)
- Molly (10/5): felt like home - Cecilia and Luis make you feel like family as soon as you arrive in Mocoa. They provide delicious home cooked meals, coffee all day, and offer a well-equipped kitchen. They also have a booklet with detailed information on things to do in the area (many of which are off the beaten track!). There are many places on the property to relax in a hammock or even do yoga -- mat provided!
My stay here was meant to last 4 days, but I extended to 10 days. Thank you, Cecilia and Luis for making Mocoa a home. I will be back soon!!
- Imma (8/5): Relax stay in Mocoa - the outside area is very nice and good for relax! Lucio and Cecilia as well Richard are wonderful host and Lucio and his wife are amazing and very funny!
thank you for having me and to laugh with me! probably I would give a look to the cats and avoid they come in the rooms and marks the territory!
- Caroline (10/5): Warm family vibes! - A truly warm and welcoming hostel run by an amazing family, they care about their guests and will make you feel at home. Kitchen well equipped and spacious. Garden is a nice place to hang out, lots of hammocks and a great view from the roof terrace! One thing to improve could be to provide a water filter or tanks of drinking water to reduce plastic waste. You can't drink the tap water in Mocoa and have to buy a 6 litre plastic bag of water during your stay.
- Davide (10/5): really felt at home away from home for 10 days - Chill atmosphere with very good energy from the family and other guests. is just 5 min from the centre so surrounded by nature. you get lots of info about tours, hikes and ancestral ceremony. If you really want to have a feel of family nature and ancestral amazon vibes. That’s the place.
- Tymen (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location, excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
- Kelly (7/5): Good -
- Wilson (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic family that owns and operates the hostal. Very friendly and willing to help out in any way toake your stay enjoyable. Lots of friendly guests exploring plant medicine and spirituality. Hammocks, well equiped kitchen, nice area to view birds and more. About a 15 minute walk from town on a hill so nice views. Stayed there twice and will return for a third time!
- Vernon (5/5): Passable -
- Rene (10/5): Your Home in Mocoa - You will have a wonderful experience at Luna Llena. You will feel supported, loved, and well taken care of on your journey. The hostel feels much more like a home and a family than a hotel. Facilities and rooms are clean and new. The owners are the most lovely and genuine couple you will meet. All love.
- Natalia (8/5): Very good - Nice place to stay to avoid the chaos of Mocoa.
The hosts are welcoming and helpful.
It is good for the money value! I would improve the hygiene of the toilets.
- Brown (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barnabe.w (8/5): Very good -
- Hossein (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional - The best welcome we had so far ! Highly recommend
- Arne (10/5): Best home away from home - Wonderful place with great atmosphere. the hosts make you feel like you are part of the family. I stayed there for two months and mart a lot of wonderful people.
- Jacob (10/5): Apriciate everything. Really family friendly. - Excelente all food and all stuff.
- Linus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadim (10/5): An excellent place to stay in Mocoa! - This is an amazing hostel outside of the city center. It's a good walk to get there but really worth it. The area is very quiet, there are a lot of spaces, many hammocks, a very spacious kitchen, and free coffee. The owners are incredibly kind and generous. The Wifi is excellent. There is a shop nearby to buy fruits and vegetables. No drinkable water from the tap, unfortunately. But that has nothing to do with the hostel itself. It's a problem related to the infrastructure of the area. The owners will give you water for a small fee, or sometimes for free.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing hospitality!
- Michael (10/5): Great family run hostel - The hostel is great but the real pleasure is the family. You will enjoy home cooked meals and feel like family. My private room was large and comfortable. There is a ton to see and do in the area and they will help make your trip great. Im a motocycle traveller and they have secure moto parking Not a big deal but there is a bit of road noise. I use earplugs so no problem
- Pak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Filip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriel (10/5): homely, chilled environment - the perfect base for your adventures in Mocoa - incredibly welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and cheap, delicious food nothing
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional -
