• Sylvie (9/5): Je recommande sans hésitation - L’accueil, l’emplacement wow, belle vue sur la montagne et surtout la gentillesse,l’écoute et la générosité de notre hôte . Il faut prendre absolument le tour de nuit proposé par l’hôte. C’est un guide exceptionnel. Nous avons adoré cette activité. Pour 1-3 nuits c’est parfait mais pour un séjour un peu plus long nous nous serions sentis à l’étroit.

The kitchen facilities are sufficient to cook a meal, tucked into a small area. The best thing here is the warm and friendly hosts, we were made to feel very welcome. The night walking tour in the forest was interesting and enjoyable. We would return!

You can tell that everything was designed with great attention to detail. Most importantly, the host is such a kind-hearted person; she was incredibly helpful with our planning and gave us amazing recommendations. Nothing at all – everything was perfect!

Die Lage war ebenfalls perfekt, da man mit dem Auto alles schnell erreichen konnte. Die bereits erwähnte Nachtwanderung haben wir ebenfalls gebucht und viele spannende Tiere entdeckt. Der Host selbst war jederzeit erreichbar und hat schnell reagiert. Wir würden diese Unterkunft definitiv weiterempfehlen! Die Räume sind hellhörig und man hört dementsprechend Nachbarn und die Straße

• Jeffrey (10/5): I will definitely return the next time I’m in town and would recommend to anyone visiting the Santa Elena area. Having a - Great location just outside of the town center. Very comfortable and clean rooms with a kitchenette. The hosts were great and I went on a night walk with the father and son. The place is close to Reserva Santa Elena, Selvatura and treetopia, plus there are a couple waterfalls a short drive away and coffee tours.

La anfitriona Arelys irradia luz , vive contiguo al departamento y está atenta a que todo esté en orden y te sientas como en tu casa. Relación precio calidad excelente! Recomendaré a mis amigos
• Ronald (9/5): Clean, comfortable, with a wonderful window view - Each room has large floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a beautiful view. We would start our morning by making a pot of coffee and lying in bed looking over the valley and rain forest. Each room has a small patio in front of the window with a couple of chairs to sit in. The bed was comfortable and clean. Each room has a small area with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster and a hotplate. It would easy to buy some items at the market and make your own snacks and simple meals. We paid for the nighttime rainforest guided tour by the owner. It was worthwhile and I am glad we did it. The owners were great! It was a pleasure to meet them and their children. The price for the room was great!! This would be a great place to spend a week to 10 days. One could thoroughly explore the area (or have time to relax and read a book on that wonderful porch) and not spend too much. The room had a few minor issues. The hot water pressure was low and it was difficult to adjust. The bathroom was smaller than I anticipated. The septic system requires that guests do not flush any toilet paper (or anything non-biological) down the toilet. All used toilet paper must be put in a wastepaper basket. The bathroom had a window but needs a fan to help dry used towels in the humid rain forest.
• Felix (10/5): Tolle Zimmer mit schönem Ausblick - Die Zimmer sind super schön, gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Wir haben zudem die Nachttour gebucht, die wirklich sehr interessant war. Die Ausgangslage zu sämtlichen Aktivitäten in der Gegend ist optimal. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen! Die Zimmer sind hellhörig, hat uns persönlich nicht gestört aber ggfs. für Leute mit leichterem Schlaf etwas problematisch.

The location is fantastic, and the studios offer beautiful, unobstructed views of the surrounding area. The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were warmly welcomed with a beautiful smile by the host family, who were incredibly kind and hospitable throughout our visit. Don’t miss the Night Tour — it’s truly a special experience!

• Selva (8/5): En búsqueda de naturaleza en Monteverde. - Elegí un lugar alejado del centro para estar rodeada de naturaleza. El predio de esta casa tiene césped cortado y algunas plantas a las que vienen aves a las que pude fotografiar, muy bonitas. También vienen colibríes. No logré ver otros seres vivos como yo quería. La vista es muy linda. Los dos apartamentos que hay abajo tienen vista a las montañas. Los dos apartamentos del primer piso tienen ventanal, porche con asientos allí y vista al golfo de Nicoya. Sería muy útil disponer de una frazada extra, ya que el clima varía mucho y a la habitación le entra aire por todo el contorno de la puerta. La primera noche pasamos frío porque la temperatura había descendido mucho. Para ir allí se debe tener en cuenta que Monteverde está a 1400 m de altura. Puede haber frío. En mi viaje ocurría un fenómeno que venía del Mar Ártico, una ola de frío que azotó Costa Rica también. Por eso la temperatura en la madrugada llegó a 13 grados centígrados.
• Christopher (10/5): A real gem in Monteverde - Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and the hosts were very helpful and attentive. The basket of fresh fruit, cookies and the coffee was a nice addition. Also made use of the mini-fridge and microwave for left-overs we acquired at various restaurants we visited as well as the plates, silverware/utensils and glasses that were provided in the room. Really a great space! I liked everything, really met our needs perfectly.

Nos obsequiaron con café y fruta. Hicimos con ellos una nocturna para ver animales y fue excelente. Nuestra familia estuvo muy a gusto.

Le parking est facile. Nos hôtes nous ont conseillé pour nos visites. Une bonne adresse ! L’équipement de la cuisine est un peu sommaire.
• Susana (10/5): Estupenda - Arelys nos hizo la estancia maravillosa, es muy atenta y siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudarnos en todo lo que necesitábamos. Nos preparó una cesta con frutas y café. Su marido Ilfido nos hizo un tour nocturno para ver la fauna de la zona. Son una pareja estupenda y nos reservaron varias excursiones. Las vistas desde el apartamento muy bonitas. Que no se pudiera tirar papel al inodoro, pero Arelys se encarga de tirar la basura todos los días y enseguida nos acostumbramos.

• John (10/5): Exceptional - Arelys and her family made us feel very welcome. It was the best tico hospitality we experienced on our trip, and it made a lasting impression. The house is conveniently close to the Santa Elena Cloud Forest and a short walk from a great little pizzeria. Be sure to ask about doing a night tour with her husband!
• Verified traveler (10/5): - Definitely stay more than one night! We had a great experience and would highly recommend staying here. We arrived later in the day and mentioned wanting to do a night hike. The hosts arranged one that started in a half hour. Then booked our activities that we wanted to do the following day for us, while we were doing the night hike. (Zip lining, and tree top walk) Overall amazing service and people to deal with.

We had Ilfido take us on a nighttime nature walk, and we spied - we stayed on the 2nd floor of the building. there was a wide covered balcony with plenty of sunlight and comfortable chairs to take on the view. it did not feel like a commercial building, much more like we were guests in someone’s home the driveway was narrow and steep.
• Emma (10/5): Beautiful Stay in the Monteverde Mountains - Arelys was very welcoming and informative about what to do around town. She shared a list of free activities to do and restaurant recommendations. The place was very peaceful and overlooked the mountains. The hot water in the shower was another plus! My siblings and I were staying there during Easter and Arelys surprised us with a little Easter basket of goodies :') Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
• Jared (10/5): Perfect if you have a car and on a budget. - Favorite part is the included kitchenette that has all the basic cookware needed. More affordable to buy from a grocery store and cook at the hotel. Location is great if you have a car as it is not walking distance to the main part of town. Not much that we didn't like. Would have been nice to pay with credit card but they are cash only.

• Gabi (9/5): Superb - Big-sized rooms and comfortable beds. The owner family were very friendly and gave us some recommendations of interesting activities in the area. Beautiful views from the terasse. The walls are very thin so we could hear the voices in the other room. Also, it was extremely windy when we were there and the gusts of wind against the thin construction caused extreme noise and gave an impression as if the house could fall apart any minute. It's a steep climb to the property and parking is not the easiest (on a slope).

The bed and bedding was comfortable. The shower pressure was good and had plenty of hot water. It was spotlessly clean. The view was spectacular, and it was so nice to have the outdoor seating area. The wi-fi worked well. The host provided delicious Costa Rican coffee and bananas in our room. We didn't cook, but it was convenient to have kitchen supplies. First - we would definitely stay again, but there are things people should know. There is a flight of stairs to get to 2 units. The host graciously helped with our luggage. It was up high, but on a busy road, so there was traffic noise. There is no heat in the unit, but we were there on an unusually chilly night and got along fine. There is no TV, but who needs a TV when you have a view like that?!

• Susan (8/5): Okay for a couple nights as home base to check out cloud forest. - View, 20 minutes from Monteverde cloud forest, very attentive host, cute town nearby. Upstairs was very noisy when it rained, no ac so got very humid in downstairs room, drive around the town is full of potholes, cash pay only.
• Anthony (7/5): Good appartement for 2 persons. - The apartment was overlooking the valley- so we had a Nice view. The woman of the house was very friendly and prepared a breakfast for us at $10 pp extra with fruits, eggs, Bread and Coffee. The apartment is not really for 3 persons. The 3th bed is not of good quality - matras needs to be replaced and blankets are too thin (as it was cold these nights and no heating was available). The door towards the Barcelona also needs to be fixed, it was very hard to be closed or opened. The wifi was not working at all. Very bad signal, even though there were different routers, none of them worked. We reported this, but with just restering the modem the issue was not solved.
• Janne (10/5): Very nice stay for your trip in Monteverde! - - Arelys , the host, is the friendliest and most helpfull host we had in our trip in Costa Rica. - the bed is comfy and big - the room feels big (nice high sealing) and there is a coffee machine and fridge ! - its very clean and hygienic, it smells clean when you enter the room - overall it feels cosy and specially Arelys and her familie make you feel at home

• Alysia (10/5): Beautiful views and incredible host! - We had such a special stay at Monteluna studios. The views are breathtaking and the studio is cosy and has everything you need. Main activities are a short journey away and Arelys (the host) gave us great suggestions for places to eat in town. Arelys went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. She gave tips on the local area and even contacted our shuttle bus company that did not arrive, to confirm they were coming to pick us up. We have never had a host go so out of there way to make our stay perfect! We would 100% recommend. Nothing.
• Claire (10/5): Welcoming family & beautiful view - We were welcomed by the family and really felt at ease there. The view to the surroundings from the balcony and the upper room are absolutely stunning. It is a good place to start discovering the Santa Elena surroundings. The family was very helpfull to book activities and recommend good places to visit. Selvatura ziplining and the guided nightwalk were highlights of our stay there. They also recommended some nice places to go for dinner with the family. The view is absolutely amazing and the house is well located to visit the area. That said, because it is not in a remote place, there is some noise from vehicles on the road below in the early morning.
• EDUARDO (10/5): - El hotel tiene unas vistas espectaculares, cerca del parque, centro pueblo y actividades. La habitación es correcta incluso con una mini cocina. La propietaria, Arelys, muy amable y servicial, nos ayudó a reservar los tours, nos recomendó restaurantes de la zona y estuvo atenta a cualquier necesidad durante nuestra estancia. Lo recomiendo!!

• Travis (10/5): We had a wonderful stay here and the host family is very nice and helpful. - The host family is super friendly and knowledgable of offerings/excursions available and wildlife in the local area. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back. The property was quiet, clean and the patio made for a great place to enjoy a coffee in the early mornings as the wildlife was also awakening each day. The kitchenette accommodation within our room was perfect.
• Felipe (8/5): Muito bom ! - Hotel muito bom, excelente custo benefício na região. Os proprietários são muito atenciosos. Quarto possui uma cozinha anexada. Muito bom, recomendo!
• Olivia (10/5): The hosts were the most welcoming and helpful we have come across in Costa Rica. They helped to make our entire vacation - This was amazing! Such a clean and well maintained unit with everything we needed.

• Anže (10/5): Thank you Arelys - Arelys is the best hostess we had in entire trip in Costa Rica. Very responsive, good recomendations and also gave us some fruit and coffee. And she helped us practice our spanish. Checked in on us if we needed anything every day. Location and the property are both lovely. Unfortunately we were there on very bad weather so we coouldnt do much. We stayed in apartment more so maybe a wifi was a bit slow. But i confess that is not a problem if the weather would be good.
• Greg (10/5): Wonderful stay, with an amazing host Arelys. Would come back again :) - Arelys (the owner) welcomed us when we arrived and gave us some coffee and fruit which was a nice touch. She also gave us some great tips for tours. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had a great sleep here without any howler monkeys waking us up at 5am! Wifi worked great, and we had a nice bench to sit outside and enjoy the stunning views of the mountains. Excellent value for money and one of the best stays we had in Costa Rica :) Its also close to a pizzeria (2min walk)! There is no air con - but you dont really need it here as its much cooler in the mountains. There is no TV, but thats not a bad thing!

She helped us book our tours and they even picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. 11/10 experience. Would gladly stay here again!
• Isabelle (10/5): - Arelys is a wonderful host. The place is quiet, clean, and very cozy. Ideally located up in the mountains. Surrounded by clouds every afternoon. Far enough from the city to enjoy some quiet but still close to activities, restaurants and supermarkets. Fantastic stay. My son and I absolutely loved it.

• Pranav (10/5): A really lovely stay - Lovely property managed by a local family. We appreciated the information about tours and activities sent to us beforehand, the warm welcome by Arelys and the lovely fruit basket. The studios have everything you require as well as a nice view. Though not far from the street, the location was very quiet during day and night.

I stayed here as a solo traveler and Arelys was super helpful with booking fun things to do and even scheduled a taxi for me when I left early in the morning. The rooms are spacious and were perfect for me. Santa Elena is just a 20 minute walk which was no problem and had lots of options for food. Highly recommend staying at Monte Luna!!

• Jane (9/5): Lovely view and friendly hosts - Lovely, friendly, helpful hosts and nice apartment. The view is fantastic. We didn’t have a car and think it took about 30 mins to walk into Santa Elena which was no problem.
