Had breakfast at Rachel’s which was good.
- DaniloGiannetti (9/5): - E' una casa caratteristica e tranquilla con un bel giardino
- sun (9/5): - Close to Bruce Peninsula National Park. We had all we needed for 1-night stay. Quite place. Comfortable bed. No complaints. It would be great to add an electrical kettle to the room.

- BEBE (9/5): - The house was lovely with a spotless and cozy room. The hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming. Although it is called B&B they didn't serve breakfast.
- Rohena (9/5): Superb -
- Terry (7/5): Good -
- Erick (10/5): A great place to enjoy the summer - The host was so friendly and the place was so clean and well maintained. It’s a beautiful property and I didn’t realize how big it was until I got there.
The room was decently sized with a huge bathroom.
Very close to the beach and local businesses and restaurants. Also 20-30 minute drive to other tourist attractions.
- Dave (9/5): Superb - Room 2 has its own washroom but not onsuite
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (9/5): Superb -
- He (10/5): Exceptional -
- Polina (10/5): Perfect - This property is absolutely stunning, and the hospitality is unparalleled. We had an unforgettable stay and felt truly cared for throughout. We highly recommend it to any couple looking for a memorable getaway! We liked everything!
- John (6/5): OK, not fabulous. - The guest house is in a good location within Lions Head and is clean and tidy. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The host was amicable.
My wife liked it more than I did. This is the third request for a review, so there is a certain amount of importuning going on here. The guest house is entirely decorated with "shabby chic" fittings and paintings, which are a bit of a turn-off. And there were notices EVERYWHERE telling you what not to do. 4 in the bathroom alone, plus two labelled containers.
Facilities in Lions Head were restricted: the pub was closed for refurbishment, as was one restaurant, which did not leave a lot of choice.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Helen (10/5): Fabulous, highly recommend! - The owner was super lovely and made every effort to help us have a wonderful trip! The bbq facilities were great and even had the chance to use the owners kayaks :)
- Gabrielle (8/5): Very good - Charming house with beautiful landscaping. Little nooks around the property add that touch of coziness and privacy.
Rooms are very comfortable and tidy with all the necessary amenities.
You can tell, by all the touches, that the owners really care.
- Susan (10/5): We recommend the Guest House without reservation and we look forward to returning. - The location was perfectly situated for hiking along the entire peninsula whether accessing trails on foot directly from the Guest House or by car or bike. The house has a gorgeous full kitchen and dining room that comfortably fits several guests from multiple parties and we enjoyed all our meals there - even though there were several restaurants in town with menus that looked tasty. The Guest House was clean and quiet surrounded by exquisite cottage gardens. The photos online are representative.
- Genny (9/5): IT WAS LOVELEY AND THE OWNER WAS SO DEAR. - BREAKFAST WAS NOT OFFERED EXTRA TOWELS, AND BETTER PILLOWS
- Jean-yves (9/5): Peaceful and very enjoyable stay, right in the middle of all of what Bruce Peninsula has to offer. - Very well situated and very well kept! Doug the owner is super friendly and accommodating. He gave us a lift to a trail head so that we wouldn't have to make the 30km loop back - only half. We stayed in the guest house so we did not try the second B in B&B. I'm sure it would have been excellent! My partner and I can only say good things about our stay!
Thank you so much! Nothing!!
- Linda (9/5): We would return in a heartbeat! - The quaintness, ambiance, well-kept lovely guest cottage and gardens, convenient location to the quaint town of Lion’s Head and Bruce Trail access points. A full-kitchen to share for meal prep. Comfortable shared Living Room with furniture and decor characteristic of the cottage’s Victorian era. Beds comfortable with all necessities provided! Friendliness and helpfulness of Host and staff.
- Anna (10/5): Comfortable, surrounded by beautiful garden and house interior. - Beautiful, clean, lovely host. Close to everything of interest. Everything was perfect
- Evelyn (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and cosy place with very welcoming hosts and the perfect spot to discover the Bruce Peninsula Nationalpark and Georgian Bay.
- Elouan (10/5): Lovely stay, great location! - A warm and well placed accommodation.
In a very charming and rustic style, this house and this place seduced us.
Very quiet area, plus the wifi was available as well as all equipment to make food etc. The digicode system to lock the room easily was convenient.
A BEAUTIFUL garden (perfect for reading;))
The house is close to lion’s head beach 3 minutes walk. And is close to several restaurants!
Finally this location is perfect to go up to tombermory by car to make beautiful hiking.
Special attention to the host we met. What a nice person, we would know how to thank him for this warm welcome and for our few exchange maintained, it was a pleasure, thank you A reliable 4G mobile network
( not the fault of the dwelling )
but fortunately compensated thanks to the wifi of the house.
- Melissa (9/5): Lovely property, very comfortable accommodation and helpful host. We plan to return next summer. -
- Ronan (9/5): We had a lovely 3 night stay and the guest house was an excellent base for exploring Bruce Peninsula - We enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Lionheart Guest House. It is perfectly located in the town with the Marina just a few minute's walk away. The host, Doug, was also very helpful, friendly and accommodating with excellent tips for places to see and do in the area.
We found Lion's Head was an excellent base for exploring Bruce Peninsula. It was a short drive to most of the scenic spots on the Peninsula (40 minutes to Tobermory, etc.) and while it is a small town, it is an idyllic one with spectacular views and enjoyable hikes and trails in the area.
An unusual feature of our stay was that the kitchen prepared a breakfast for the guests at 8am which was delivered to each room. This meant we were awake at 8am to get the breakfast, so we didn't sleep in. But, for us it worked out well since there was so much to do in the area that it was good to get a good start. I'm not sure if they offered options for a late breakfast. But, the breakfasts were good (with a slightly different menu each morning) and gave us a nice start to the day. So, it suited us.
We definitely would consider staying here again if we are in the Bruce Peninsula. It wasn't a problem for us in the end but there was no kettle or coffee machine or microwave in the room. I'm not sure if they provided that as an option. But we didn't need it as the breakfast included a choice of tea or coffee, and for the coffee, they provided a take-away cup if you needed it. So, that worked for us!
(As an aside, if you need tea or coffee during the day, there are several local cafes in Lion's Head and other towns, and some nice local restaurants - but be aware that apparently there are none of the national or international coffee chains or fast-food places like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, MacDonalds, BK, etc. anywhere on Bruce Peninsula! But, you can support the local cafés and restaurants instead!)
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Donald (7/5): Good - No tv…missed the Olympic updates
- John (4/5): disappointing. for the price should have at least a tv in the room and proper ac unit. very loud - o property had nice garden Ac unit in the room was very loud affecting sleep. bathroom door latch did not work. no tv in the room. shower head not very good
- Zachary (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing Victorian style comfort, excellent staff and amenities, beautiful and tranquil location. The owners went above and beyond. I had an amazing stay. I will definitely be coming back.
- Martin (9/5): Superb - We decided to visit the area "spur of the moment," and we were happy to find availability. The room was very nice.
- Carole (10/5): Quaint, comfortable, and a lovely stay - Wonderful accommodation in the Stone House with themed rooms - ours was ‘Far East’. Loved it!
Very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was provided and delivered to the room. What a treat!
Marvellous hosts. Enjoyed a great conversation with Doug
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petrica (10/5): Excellent! - Very lovely cottage with beautiful artwork and beautiful garden! Very clean and comfortable!
- Yousef (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yancy (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location at a great price, kitchen well stocked for cooking and accommodation Bathroom was, not attached to bedroom and there was a loud air conditioner in the hallway in front of your room
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Morgan (8/5): Very good -
- Heather (10/5): charming heritage house and garden - Lovely garden, huge shady trees pond full of peepers - charming.
Comfortable bed, plenty if comfortable pillows.
Kitchen available for use - very nice. Spotless.
Recycling - hurray!!! Why don't more places do that? Living room seating shows off antique collection, but not really comfortable for sitting etc.
- Ewing (4/5): A warning about the loose security of the home would have been appreciated . - The location was great . There was no breakfast . We never did meet our host in person although our emails asking for help were answered . The accommodation was very clean ...kitchen , living room , bedroom . The host could have provided an emergency contact since we are senior citizens . The host could have warned us that the front door would never be locked .
The shower was not operating properly . There were three tv remotes but no instructions . There was a dvd player but no dvd's provided ...... we borrowed from the library .
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (9/5): Am excellent place to stay! - Great location... great guesthouse... very quiet and am excellent place to stay! Nothing to improve
- Zanette (10/5): overall a positive experience. - Beautiful old house with decor to match. Well equiped and clean. N/A
- Vera (9/5): relaxing - There was no breakfast Peace and quiet
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mafizul (10/5): We sure enjoyed staying at the cottage very much. - Our rental did not include any breakfast.
Nevertheless it was a nice and clean place, very quiet and comfortable. The bed in room #3 was not good. Mattress may need to be replaced.
Kitchen faucets are loose needs the fixtures tighten to the sink.
- Amy (10/5): The location is very easy to find and convenient. Overall, I have a very pleasant stay there. - The location is convenient. The place is beautiful. The owner is very friendly. The room is clean and smell pleasantly. The zucchini they grow in their garden is very fresh and sweet. Overall, I love the place very much. I forgot to mention that we are seniors and it would be ideal that we could stay in the ground floor instead. However, it's my first time there, so I didn't know they have a room on the first floor. Next time, I will make a special request if possible.
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Andrew (6/5): There seemed to be much more for the tourist in Tobermory. - Comfy room in a nice house on a large plot. Lions Head is a very small & quiet place, with only a couple of dining options. Nothing after 9pm that we found. Communication with the host was poor/slow, and the only reason we were able to enter our room at all (one hour after arrival and because the code provided to us didn’t work as it should’ve) was because another guest managed to contact the host via phone on our behalf. Also our toilet flush didn’t work; I messaged but nothing happened. I left some chocolate milk in the fridge, and it was removed within 18 hours; presumably by either a thief or an over-exuberant cleaner. The room had a fan only, and in July-2023 the nights were very warm (interestingly, the upper landing outside our room had chilly but noisy aircon).
- Chithambararam (10/5): Exceptional - Location, Property. if they allowed Pets ! :)
- Mykhailo (10/5): Exceptional - Nice century house with its own history.
- Sandra (8/5): We had a lovely time overall. Super friendly people - Beautiful gardens, great location. Quite noisy when you have another guest beside you. Wasn't the best having a bathroom across the hall, however I would happily return if I could get another room.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Chun (9/5): Superb - Fantastic home for a short stay. Not too much choice of restaurants in a small town.
- Robert (1/5): Terrible! Owners don’t want to be in the business which showed at every turn and hence, they shouldn’t be. - Quaint, Serene setting Room was not what was booked (had a queen bed and not a King).
Although bathroom was exclusively for us, it was across the hall from our bedroom.
Did not offer any breakfast as we purchased.
Sounds (snoring) from adjacent room clearly heard.
Hostess (Marlene) was most unwelcoming and off putting, and very unaccommodating. She ruined our experience with her super negative comments during our entire checking in process. Thank goodness we never saw her again.
- Nandhini (9/5): Fantastic stay, my parents and family loved it. - Breakfast was not provided, but we had a kitchen to ourselves Air-conditioning was off, we slept comfortably, but could have used a bit of cooling
- Stephane (5/5): disappointed and no Air Conditioning - good location no A/C, no welcome, bad communication (no answer)…
- Junxiong (9/5): Superb - A good quiet house.
Very clean and tidy.
Beautiful buildings and garden.
Friendly staff. Poor cell phone reception.
We can connect to the WIFI, but the internet connection is unstable.
- Tapp (8/5): it was fun and beautiful - it was clean and private
- Ed (9/5): Superb - Quiet and peaceful with a friendly staff. Beautiful buildings and grounds The upstairs air conditioner was very noisy
- Hazel (10/5): Exceptional -
