• Fabian (10/5): Ein in jeder Hinsicht hervorragender Aufenthalt - Wie schon andere Reviews schreiben: Quasi ein zwei-Sterne Zimmer aber mit 5-Sterne Service. Das Zimmer selbst ist nichts besonderes, hat aber alles was man braucht. Und auch als Gast im Gästehaus kommt man in den Genuss der tollen Hotel-Lounge, der Bäckerei, dem Frühstück, und dem Shuttle vom/zum Bahnhof. Gegen Aufpreis kann man auch das Hotel-Spa nutzen. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und waren immer blitzblank sauber. Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und hilfreich, inklusive dem Hotel-Manager, der sich jeden Tag beim Frühstück bei den Gästen erkundigt, ob alles gut läuft. Die Lage ist schwer zu toppen. Das Dorfzentrum ist 5-10 zu Fuß, der Bus ist nur 2 min die Straße runter. Und direkt gegenüber gibt es einen tollen Skiverleih. Alles super praktisch und einfach. Wer großen Wert auf Service, aber einen kleineren Wert auf ein "schickes" Zimmer legt, ist hier genau richtig. - Man muss recht viele Treppen zum Zimmer erklimmen, aber das war uns vorher bekannt. - Die Zimmerreinigung (die immer sehr gut und gründlich war!) ist öfters zu verschiedenen Zeiten. Manchmal schon morgens während des Frühstücks, manchmal erst am frühen Nachmittag. Aber das war kein großes Problem.

• Ioana (9/5): Clean, great location and amazing breakfast - recommend! - It’s a great location, amazing breakfast, clean and friendly staff. We got picked up and driven back to the train station, very convenient. The room / bath amenities were a little outdated (shower, hairdryer etc) but functioned and were clean. Quite small bathroom :)

• Austin (6/5): Great location and perfect for overflow - Great location, excellent staff, and the main hotel has fantastic amenities. Guest House room is too small for someone over 6 feet (1.97). Door frames are very low. Room also had odd smell and an issue with brown hot water (which the staff fixed).

• Jowita (5/5): - Hotel The Rex Zermatt i klimatyczne przyszne śniadania oraz Panie z recepcji szczególnie Pani Catarina, miła i profesjonalna osoba 👌🏻 Obiekt w którym spaliśmy był obok Hotelu The Rex Zermatt tam też były śniadania i o tym wiedzieliśmy przy rezerwacji. Natomiast sam budynek i pokój w którym mieszkaliśmy przez 4 dni pozostawił wiele do życzenia :/ Standard jak na warunki w Szwajcarii a byliśmy już kolejny raz nie był zadowalający. Łazienka bardzo mała i sam pokój dosyć w niskiej zabudowie. Widok za oknem na szczyt Matternhorn po części rekompensował to co otrzymaliśmy… szczerze zdjęcia mają się nijak do tego co zastaliśmy na żywo. Guesthouse by the rex powinien przejść gruntowny remont aby dorównać standardom innych apartamentów w tej okolicy.

• evgeniya (5/5): Cheap room with Matterhorn views but no amenities. - Staff at the main Rex hotel reception were lovely when we were checking in, helped organise driver to collect/drop off to main train station (free) and our ski passes, treated all guests well regardless of whether you had a room booked at main hotel or the guesthouse. They also provided firmer pillows on request. The bakery at the main hotel was delicious, the service there was great and excellent coffee! Room service was good, the town was so muddy when we visited that we always seemed to bring back so much dirt on our shoes and the cleaning staff mopped the floor every day. (Bathroom cleaning was not that thorough though, the soap dispenser hangs on the wall and drips soap down on the floor and it was never cleaned). We also had the room with the Matterhorn views and it did not disappoint butttt we also saw it plenty when skiing so not sure that it was really worth booking this for the slightly extra cost. Wifi in the room was ok. Not too bad of a walk into the Main Street for shops/restaurants, maybe 5 min. Ski storage at the main rex hotel that we were able to use. Zero amenities. First two days we didn’t even have a kettle, then it randomly appeared in our room on day 3 of our stay but there were no mugs or anything else provided so I’m not sure what they thought we would use it for. Made no sense. Tiniest shower ever. Two flights of windy stairs to our room. Creaking bed. Restaurant downstairs. If we ever came back I would look for a room with more amenities, at least a kettle with some mugs and spoons (although I acknowledge this place was more affordable than other accommodation in Zermatt).

I would definitely stay in the main building next time. The shower door was broken and we had to struggle to stop water leaking outside.

Големият бонус е гледката от балкона и възможността да се наблюдава Матерхорн при ясно време. Отличен интернет, комфортно легло. Може би би било добре да има кана за топла вода и сешуар ,това щеше да допринесе за комфорта особено при дъждовно време ,просто съвет. няма такова
• Yen Li (10/5): cosy, comfortable and welcoming! - very comfortable and cosy stay- stayed in the guesthouse next door but could access the facilities of the main hotel which was very convenient! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful which made the stay so much more pleasant :) nothing to complain about!

• Kevin (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend - It was a decent place to stay Where to start. The place is small, that’s to be expected, but the bathroom is small to the point of being uncomfortable. I’m not a big guy (174cm) and there was no way for me to use the shower without knocking the temperature knob and, to my frustration, switching from hot water to ice cold in an instant. This happened multiple times. The shower itself was faulty? The doors didn’t even close, and to use the toilet you basically have to be sticking your whole side to the wall. (Pictures attached) Regarding the bed, this was one of the worst mattresses I’ve ever slept on. The pillow was awful (and they only give you one per person for some reason). Moving to the place, the walls, the ceiling and the floors are paper thin. The other people staying at this place woke us up multiple times. We could even hear them talking, arguing or coming down the stairs. Also, related to the noise, there’s a restaurant downstairs, so you’ll hear the people and/or the staff when they come to throw stuff out. Finally, the room had no A/C nor fans of any kind, so the only way to get the room a bit cold is to open the doors to the “balcony”, but you can’t do that at night, so it was really hot. Overall, it was a small oven with an unusable bathroom, an uncomfortable bed and paper thin walls.
• Olga (10/5): Простой милый отпль со всеми удобствами и отличным расположением - Все чисто и удобно. У меня был номер 5, первый этаж гестхауза, начало общего балкона. Так что ресторан был от меня в стороне. При этом из этого уголка был вид на Маттерхорн, что приятно - можно посмотреть погоду сразу )). Прилагаю фото вида) Есть шторы блэк-аут. Отель не на горе, мучиться во время восхождения не требуется. Местоположение крайне удобное, рядом церковный мост, около которого есть остановки бесплатного общественного e-bus - и красной, и зеленной линии. Идут, в том числе, до вокзала. Но и без него подъемники близко. В обе стороны - примерно на одинаковом расстоянии. Также рядом основная коммерческая улица Церматта с магазинами, банками и ресторанами. На электромобиле 4зв материнского отеля Rex довезли до вокзала после чек-аута. Реально понравилось всё, ребята.

• Heather (7/5): Good - Location provided good access to restaurants and trains. I'm a small person and the showers were ridiculously small. Couldn't wash hair without banging elbows on shower doors. Beds were uncomfortable, no padding, springs stiff and pokey.

• Frances (9/5): Great guesthouse - Great breakfast and very helpful staff. Free transfer from and to the train station. The boiler broke, so we had 1 night without hot water, but that was bot the hotel's fault and they very quickly sorted it out as soon as they could.

Liam and Martina were exceptional, I will have to come back to the guesthouse or the hotel just because of this team :) The spa facilities were exceptional as well, a pool, big jaccuzi and a few saunas is everything you need for a nice day after skiing. The rex hotel also has a bakery with some fine products and a cocktail bar with great service too.

We stayed in the guest house but had access to the hotel for drinks, spend time in the gardens and for shuttles to the train station. Two pillows please! Didn't ruin our stay at all just a tiny recommendation to make sleep more comfortable.

There is a nice garden in front of the main hotel building where you can sit, relax and order a drink. The bed seemed broken near the head, I didn't sleep well, feeling that my head is below the level of feet. The shower was narrow (even though the room was quite big), I was constantly hitting it with the elbows, but it was still manageable to use it.

She will do extra mile for the guests and make sure everything is explained, answered and delivered as needed. Except for the small space in the toilet, everything is perfect!

• Yu-chun (6/5): Basic accommodation with an amazing view - We asked for a room with view of the Matterhorn and we sure got that! The bathroom including the shower stall was extremely small. I’m not big, but I kept bumping my elbows on the shower screen when I was showering, and I had to be very careful when I move in the bathroom so I don’t bump into anything.

• Yi (8/5): Cosy, Simple, Value-for-Money with Superb Service - Guesthouse by the Rex is a small guesthouse facility next door to The Rex Hotel. The hotel reception handled our check-in and were so helpful with directions, sourcing for a kettle from the hotel for us (guestroom didn't come with a kettle), arranging a buggy transfer to the train station (although we could have walked the short distance). The location was perfect - a peaceful lane off the main street and just a couple of minutes walk from the main square where the church, Matterhorn Museum, and gelato store was. The in-hotel Backzeit Bakery makes delicious coffee, sourdough sandwiches, and irresistable cardamom buns! The Rex is located between the main shops (with ski rental) and the Matterhorn Express gondola / lift to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise - perfect for seasoned skiers. Beginner skiers should note that the guesthouse is located at the opposite end of the town from the gondola / lift to Sunega (where beginners take their lessons). The bed was a tad soft especially in the middle. But that seems to be common across the hotels that we stayed in Switzerland.

The hotel it’s connected too is fabulous. The rooms at the guest house makes it really feel like a cosy cabin. They come in a clean your room change your towels. For breakfast you can go Over to the main hotel the Rex and the breakfast is 19sf I feel like the rooms could be warmer
