• Franziska (10/5): - Das Zimmer war sehr gemütlich. Das Badezimmer war sauber und die Küche hatte alles was man braucht. Besonders gut, hat uns die Gastfreundschaft von Victor gefallen. Er hat uns viele Tips gegeben und war jederzeit ansprechbar. Da wir einen Nachtbus hatten konnten wir sogar noch den ganzen Tag in der Unterkunft bleiben. Wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Hay una cocina para preparar desayuno o cena. El hospedaje esta cerca de centro historico y de terminal de Busses tambien.

Les chambres sont très calmes, il y a tout le nécessaire pour se reposer : même un mini frigo dans la chambre. La cuisine est une cuisine partagée, équipée avec tout ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner. Tout était propre et rangé. Un endroit très reposant. Je recommande a 100%
• Enzo (10/5): Reseña Hostal Victor - Habitación amplia cómoda y confortable, la cama es muy cómoda, el baño es amplio y cuenta con buen surtido de toallas. La habitación está equipada con un pequeño escritorio ideal para trabajar, la señal de WIFI funciona al 100, la cocina es amplia y bien surtida, hay frutas y puedes preparar tu desayuno sin problemas. El baño es amplio y el agua caliente funciona de maravilla. Nada... toda ha sido perfecto.

• Leti (10/5): Mare d'inverno - La casa ha una struttura particolarissima, si entra da un portone e comincia un corridoio aperto sul soffitto dove si affacciano tutte le stanze, nonché la cucina messa a disposizione. Pulitissima, molto vicina alla piazza centrale di La Serena. Stanze molto comode con ottima connessione wifi. Non da meno la grande simpatia e spirito di condivisione di Victor, il proprietario. He walked us to the bus stop, gave us snacks, stayed to meet us and offered us a shower from our night bus although it was early for check in. The bed was very comfy and the room a nice size. Own bathroom that was separate from the room. Bathroom is separate so you have to go outside to use it but it was definitely fine!
• Nigel (10/5): A lovely place to stay - Victor is an exceedingly friendly and helpful host (the rest of the family were lovely too). He immediately made us feel at home and made every attempt to understand our poor spanish and talk to us in very clear, slow, spanish so we could understand him! He provided us with a lot of help and information. The hostel was located on the edge of the historical centre, about 10 to 15 minutes walk from the bus station and a large supermarket, about 30 minutes walk to the lighthouse. The hostel is quite small so it's very quiet. The bedroom was very comfortable with plenty of storage, a fridge, extra blankets if needed (but a heater was provided), proper glasses for water, and a very good TV. The bathroom was very large, with a good-sized shower with hot water, plenty of towels provided, and a chair to use. The kitchen was very well equipped, the best we've come across after 15 months of travelling in S. America. Large hob and oven, smaller oven too. Kettle, blender, coffee maker, etc, and all the pots, pans, tableware and cutlery you could possibly need. Access to large table for eating. The bathroom, although private, was not connected to the bedroom (but it was only next door, and Victor provided dressing gowns and slippers for when we needed to use it). It would be nice if there were a couple of hooks for coats in the bedroom. But really, we are nitpicking!
• Andrea (10/5): Victor went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. He is a wonderful hos - This property is a great example of the history and architecture of old La Serena. It is a very well preserved older home built in the style of its time and only a short walk to the beautiful el centro viejo.
• Michaelite68 (10/5): comfortable, safe and welcoming place - Victor is a very kind and helpful man. If I asked him anything, he responded quickly. I felt very safe there and at home. Everything is exceptionally clean and well cared for. Victor and his family live on the premises and there is a main door/gate to access the apartments/rooms. It is also very quite. The TV has many, many stations in English (and I suspect other languages besides Spanish) which was surprising and enjoyable. The in room refrigerator was useful. The large dispenser of bottled water was very helpful for refilling my water bottles. I also boiled water in the kitchen and bought it to my room in a thermos for tea. The bed was very comfortable with good cotton sheets and lots of blankets. There is also a heater and fans available if needed. It was inconvenient to have the bathroom next door to my room instead of attached. Victor provides a robe and clog like slippers to make it easy. The bathroom was my own and not shared. It was large and comfortable. There was no issue with safety in using it.

• Zogoibi (9/5): Very nice room, quiet property, outstanding host. - This is the first time I give such a high score to a room without en-suite bathroom, but this property really stands out among the average Chilean accommodations. 5' away from the bus station and 1' away from La Serena old town, it is however very quiet, and the atmosphere is made wonderful by its out of the common host. Rooms are very cozy and have all you need: comfortable bed, superb duvet, small desktop, well placed wall outlets, mini fridge and a small but sufficient heater. Bathroom is huge, and also has anything you need. Shower experience very pleasant. Wifi is good. Victor is genuinely nice, an excellent host and a great conversationalist. He will surely allow you to use the kitchen and provide you with all the help and good advices he can. I came for one night and ended up staying three, because it felt so "home" here. Had I had time I would've stayed even longer. Absolutely recommended. The bathroom is not en-suite, but next-door, and it felt somewhat cold.

He went out if his way to help us including taking us to the bus stop to ensure we found the right bus! The room is very comfy, and the whole place feels very homely. We would recommend Victor's place to anyone staying in La Serena! Nothing.
• Victoria (10/5): Fabulous 5 night stay - Victor is a wonderful host, friendly, energetic and helpful. He's also very patient, he spoke slowly and clearly, and tolerated our attempts to practice our (pretty poor) spanish speaking. Everywhere is incredibly clean and tidy, including the shared kitchen which had tea, coffee and filtered water we could use too. The bathroom was spacious. The bed was super comfortable and there was plenty of storage for clothes. The temperature was just right, there was a fan and blankets but we didn't need either. Victor kindly let us use his washing machine to do our laundry too, which was appreciated. The broadband was decent. The location was perfect, very quiet, only a few streets from the old town and walking distance to the beach. In all we had a fabulous stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others. Nothing!
