Guest Reviews

- Susan (10/5): Hidden Gem - Its so adorable and homey. Its not for the "fancy traveler" but wonderful place for those looking for a more rusric, friendly feeling that goes with the lovely town of Orosi. Beautiful views, common kitchen and living room area with library where you can trade books. Bonus was the sweetest kitty ever. Lovely spot, great location! All good for us!

Bon restaurant
- Susanne (9/5): - Dejlig have med blomster og fugleliv
Hjemligt
- Clodagh (8/5): Living like a local in Orosi - Gorgeous little house in the centre of Orosi close to everything. Beautiful views. A home from home.
- Tim Winn (9/5): -
- Othmar Franz Xaver (7/5): - Haus in leicht erhöhter Lage, ruhig, in kleinem Park, geeignet um Vögel zu beobachten. Shloss zum Zimmer klempte, sehr hellhörige Zimmer
- Michel (10/5): Excellente experience.

- John (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (7/5): Nice Place for a relatively good Price. Stunning view over The Valley! - Beautiful view and good Price Rooms and Shared living room were Not really clean (Spider Webs and Insect eggs on the chairs)!
- John (9/5): kiwi JJ - delightful nothing to dislike
- Beth (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was friendly and kind. They have a very friendly cat that came to visit me often. There are bananas growing in the yard. The bed was very uncomfortable. It felt like sleeping on a box of springs. I have a very bad back. The owner should add some memory foam tops to the beds to make them more comfortable. There was a rooster in the yard that started singing at 3am every morning. The smokers on the property made it uncomfortable while sitting outside.
- Neil (9/5): Superb - While the original reservation was changed, it was fair in as much as we got a full house with kitchen etc to ourselves for the same money.
- Merrilee (10/5): Good birdwatching from deck and patios. - Coffee maker and supplies always available. I don't know.
- Stephen (9/5): Happy travellers. - Friendly, secure, beautiful gardens.
- Jan (7/5): Good - Great location, nice terrace.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Location, garden and feel of the place Nothing
- Lisa (10/5): A room with a view - Very charming house, nice and quiet area, close to the thermal Spa and with a fantastic view. The only thing that disturbed me were the local roosters that woke me up at 04:00 in the morning :)
- Melinda (9/5): Good way to meet people and enjoy the area, lots to walk and much nearby…. - Friendly, comfortable, location, clean Nothing
- Freddie (7/5): Good -
- Antoine (9/5): A lovely house surrounded by beautiful scenery makes for a very comfortable stay. - The guest house is small, cozy and inviting with a nice kitchen and dining area. The house isn't large, but it is the kitchen is well stocked and there is a nice view of the surrounding mountains. My room was very clean and comfortable. The house is a bit small, but the rooms are spread out onto two floors to avoid too much trampling on each other. I could see it being a bit crowded in the kitchen and dining area when it's full. Towards the end of my stay I had a problem with a swarm of ants in the bathroom.
- ........pp..... (1/5): Stolen items - Employee stole some of our items. Both from the common area and the private area.
- Gabriella (7/5): Great location, close to the village center, nicely furnished rooms - The accommodation is in a large house that is run like a 'hostel'. The rooms are nicely furnished. We received a warm welcome. The owners don't live in the house and it sometimes felt a bit strange to be all alone in this house.
The kitchen is available to everyone, so you can cook your own food. The car can be parked safely in the garden.
Orosi is a pretty little village with a pleasant atmosphere. Restaurants and small shops are within walking distance. There are beautiful excursion possibilities in the surrounding area. -
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely. - Very attractive views set up above town. Nice location. Funky guesthouse. Lovely friendly resident cats! We booked a trip with Luis the taxi driver which was super. He showed us all around and took us to Guayabo stopping to point out birds and views etc. It is noisy - lots of roosters and motorbikes - but that would be the same everywhere in town.
- Jessica (8/5): A Charming, simple, cosy guesthouse! - Well-situated on a rise above this pretty town but close to everything, this guesthouse was simple but perfectly charming. The downstairs room has no view but instead a large window onto the green garden. All clean and pleasant with a good bathroom, and Mario who let me in was kind and helpful.
- Charlene (8/5): Very good -
- Stephanie (8/5): Friendly, relaxed guest house which attracts interesting international travellers. Well organised, very good communicati - Beautiful garden, wonderful views from the balcony. Minutes from town but peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of places to sit outside and dream.
- John (5/5): wouldnt return - Convenient location, cheap. Kitchen was grubby and outdated. I dont appreciate having a cat sitting on the dining room table, particularly as it had vomitted earlier and as there was no one around i cleaned it up. Cats and kitchens dont work for me im afraid.
No sound proofing in the upstairs room.
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Titzi (8/5): Cute place to stay in Orosi - This is a really nice and cute hostel ❤️ The rooms are clean and charming with a great view of the Orosi Valley.
We only stayed one night, but wished we stayed more.
- Melissa (8/5): Very good - Agradable para recuperar energias.
- Gillian (7/5): Lovely, characterful house and a relaxed and friendly town but sleep wasn’t easy. - Good location, very helpful staff. Very noisy position- dogs, roosters and motorbikes prevented any sleep and the walls were so thin it was as if we were in the same room as our neighbours.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good - I loved the cleanliness of my room and bathroom. I liked the common areas and the location of the hotel in general The bed was not very comfortable so I had a hard time sleeping.
- Katja (9/5): Superb -
- Jodi (5/5): Glad to be leaving. - Pretty bare bones. Roosters wake you up starting at 4:30am. No hot water. No place to put anything in the room. Pretty much a bed in a bare room. The toilet did work so I guess that’s something.
- Alessandra (8/5): Nice and cheap stay in the valley - The room was cosy, with a good view and close to everything needed. A really good option for a super low price! Nothing to point out
- Wilkins (10/5): Exceptional -
- Randi (10/5): Very fun, and we fell in love with Orosi. - Even though there is a shared kitchen and common space, it felt private and none of us needed to use the kitchen at the same time. People were respectful of our items in the refrigerator and cleaned up after themselves. I was surprised I slept so well, because I usually don’t on vacation. If you are elderly, or not in great shape, the outside stairs are very steep to
Reach the upper rooms.
- Francesca (6/5): Pleasant - The garden is beautiful. The rooms on first floor have a wonderful view from the balcony to the Irazu volcano. The rooms including common parts are dirty. We found cockroaches in the kitchen and in the room.
- Gaelle (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - but the kitchen is pretty awful - Cheap and cheerful- you pay for what you get! The place needs a deep cleaning - on top.if that, the kitchen and utensils need a serious upgrade (i.e. burners not working, pots and pans competely worned out, etc.)
- Grace (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (6/5): Affordable but likely better options in Orosi - The location in Orosi centro worked well. It was a pleasure to meet other guests staying at the guest house. Sheets and towels were changed on a regular basis. The property overall could use a facelift refresh to make it feel cleaner and better cared for. It was also creaky upstairs. We had trouble sleeping due to the heat (rooms are not air conditioned and fan speed is high if on but doesn’t really cool the room well) and lots of noise in the area (motos, cat fights, dogs, roosters, etc.). Two items went missing during laundry service.
- Pubali (10/5): Cozy stay in beautiful Orosi - - Lovely family who takes care of the guesthouse
- Comfortable room & beautiful balcony
- Well equipped shared kitchen
- Nice location, walking distance to the town center
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (7/5): Good -
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Max (7/5): Good - The accommodations are modest, as is the price. There is no air conditioning, but one is unlikely to need it very often in Orosi. The bed was fine and we appreciated the shared kitchen and dining area. Neighbourhood traffic was noisy at times but we slept OK and would be happy to stay here again. There is some great hiking in the area and Montaña Linda makes a good base camp.
- Nowell-hyne (9/5): Superb -
- Howard (9/5): Superb - The view,kitchen, location.
- Oliver (9/5): Perfect place! Sitting on the 1st floor watching the village and the surrounding mountains! -
- Michael (8/5): good location for exploring the area. shops, restaurants nearby. good for long term stays - nice gardens and outdoor area for sitting. access to a small kitchen. secure parking. a bit noisy at night. check in process could be clearer.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - Simple but all basic needs are present. The vibe is casual. If you need attention from staff, this may not be the place for you, however your needs will be met by friendly people. I'm a big guy and the stairs and balcony are narrow. This is not a complaint, I am simply filling out the form. I have no difficulty adapting.
- Emma (7/5): Good - It was a really good-sized guest house, with good kitchen facilities and lots of room to relax in the dining room and sitting room. The garden was also really pretty. None.
- Alfaro (8/5): Agradable -
- Cathryn (8/5): Apartment with Garden view was great, was self contained house though not on the same property as the main hostel - We stayed in the Apartment with Garden View, which turned out to be a self contained house with its own garden. It was a couple of blocks away from the main hostel, which was closed at the time. centrally located near shops and restaurants with a nice lounge, nice terrace, good sized kitchen with microwave, grill/oven, coffee machine, fridge, lots of crockery and utensils (cooker not working properly), twin bedroom and large double bedroom. Had to phone to get someone to check us in, and the staff member who came was very helpful and also arranged a taxi for us. Cooker not working properly, the rings didn’t get hot enough to boil water even.
- Katherine (7/5): loved the town, the view from our stay was gorgeous, loved the kitty who lives there, just needs some attention to detai - Great location! This place could be incredible with just a little bit more upkeep. Had the entire place to ourselves. Flying ants were landing all over us at night. The downstairs common area needed some upkeep and cleaning, would make a huge difference in the feel of the place.
