Guest Reviews
- Anthony (8/5): Excellent view and location. - View was great Excellent location. Collecting keys from shop nearby was a bit of a walk.
- Thomas (5/5): - Location and view Overall state of property. Bathroom was separate from room with door knob almost falling off door.
- Harpreet (9/5): Great location, fantastic view. Comfortable stay - Real value for money, I’ve stayed 3 times! - The location is fantastic. The view is amazing. Yes the carpet is a little tired but honestly for what you pay, you can’t beat it - especially being so close to the Elizabeth Line. You can be in central London within 20 mins. The other reviews don’t give this room justice imo. I’ve stayed 3 times and I have only ever had the en suite room and the other room’s bathroom IS private - you just have to leave the room to access. Really not a big deal. Plus the bar on the nearby Hotel Sunborn is bloody great for a late night cocktail! 🍹 This should be at least an 8/10 but I agree with the other reviews - ensuring the TV works, that there is milk available for hot drinks (even UHT cartons would do!), refining the instructions so people know not to walk along the river but with the hotels on your LEFT not right and the big one - telling people IN ADVANCE about needing to collect the keys from 10 mins away. This was my 3rd stay so I knew but to not release those details until 3pm on the day of check in is a real issue and the owners should take note of that as the review score would increase.
- Louise (1/5): Do not recommend you stay - especially as a single female! - Room was comfy, good bed Window didn't close, so was cold and noisy and the 'private' bathroom was accessible by other guests with no lock!
The owner/booking.com have offered me a £21 refund for a 2 night stay despite highlighting the lack of security with videos, and no acknowledgement to get it fixed for the next guest.
- Jo (7/5): Perfect if you need to be close to Excel. Amazing view from bedroom. - So close to Excel and lovely view of the canal. There are two rooms available to rent and I got the one with a ‘private bathroom’ but I misunderstood that does not mean ‘ensuite’. It was a good bathroom, very clean etc but a bit inconvenient to be having to leave your room, go into shared corridor and unlock your bathroom , enduring you don’t lock yourself out of your bedroom in the process! The other room has an ensuite and is priced accordingly.
Also there is presumably a kitchen but that was not accessible which was a shame.
- Svetlana (8/5): - Close to excel
- chen (10/5): -
- Simon (7/5): Nice room, great view, horrible check-in process - The room was clean and well maintained and had a great view over the river. Was also a great location for what I needed. The check-in process was awful. Had to collect the keys from a supermarket that was a 10-minute walk away from the property, past the exhibition center and station and over a bridge - that's a 20-minute round trip from the property which, with bags, is really not a lot of fun. Once you have the keys and walked back to the property, finding the apartment itself wasn't much fun either. Would hate to have to do this at night. Also, if you're going to go the trouble of providing teabags, coffee sugar etc, please provide milk as well!
- Hazel (10/5): - Fabulous location for the Excel, the bed was super comfortable and everything with the room was perfect! Had a microwave, kettle, all cutlery and a mini fridge! Nothing! Everything was perfect!
- Kalvin (10/5): -
Litt kronglete system for å hente nøkkelen.
- Alison (9/5): - Fabulous position for the ExCel. Second time we've stayed, great location. Easy key collect and frop. Looking a little tired 12m on from our first stay, but clean and comfortable and we'd return.
- STUART (8/5): - Location. Size of room. Good communication from host
- Faisal (4/5): Unprofessional - The View Noisy as it was a room in an apartment.
The key collection was 15 minutes walk away from the building, and you won’t know this until the check in time.
Carpet was not clean with lot of hair could be from pets.
Towels were washed but with visible stains.
Unprofessional host, ignoring the messages.
The lift was out of service the day of check-in and the flat in the 10th floor.
- Marcela (4/5): Unsafe and weird! - Looking on my brocken window I could see a nice view of the Thames. Very hard to get there, especially for someone who is not from there. I got there late in the night and I had to get around a lot to find it. No receptionist, nobody to ask. I booked on Serena Waterfront Excel, the emails received were from Serena Hotel and the last confirmation was from Wild Roses....completely CONFUSING!
The window handle was brocken! Completely UNSAFE! The head shower didn't wotk. Everything seemed to be old but with a quick paint of some rushing painters. Poor quality ! And the bathroom is on the corridor...odd!
The room is actually in an apartment so no privacy and a weird feeling when someone else got into the apartment and went into the other room. In the middle of the night... really scarry!
Jnsafe and weird!
- Stephanie (1/5): Be very careful - misrepresenting the accommodation - I didn’t enter the property. It was not made clear that this is a room in a shared space. I felt unsafe traveling as a lone woman to enter a property with other people sharing the space. I didn’t enter the property. It was not made clear that this is a room in a shared space. I felt unsafe traveling as a lone woman to enter a property with other people sharing the space. Completely misleading representation of the accommodation, private bathroom indicated, which I understand was not the case. No check in information provided until after the check in time, by which point you are likely at the address provided then being required to carry your luggage back to where you came from at the station to collect keys.
- Ali (6/5): - Location for Excel Exhibition Center Key collection system
- Rose (8/5): - The room is great. Great location, beautiful view. The description is deceiving. It says "room includes private bathroom" but it is not in the room. This is only clear under Property on the booking.com description. Having to go in and out of the room for the toilet at night and having to unlock the toilet is not ideal.
- Simon (1/5): - nothing Apartment smelt bed uncomfortable no tv broken bathroom door no Microwave or fridge poorly described on booking. com
- denise (8/5): Overall a good stay in London. - Location to Excel conference centre & underground.
Clean room, comfy beds & beautiful view over London, 02 & the yacht.
Nice tasty breakfast at the cafe across the road. Not allocated the room in the photo. The window latch was broken, therefore, the window didn’t close fully, when airplane’s going over, a bit noisy. Private bathroom is actually a shared bathroom with another room.
- Tullis (10/5): -
- Guus (8/5): mooi verblijf. value for money. - ruime kamer, prachtig uitzicht iets gebruikte vloerbedekking, douche putje liep niet goed door, 2 peertjes van lampjes ontbraken
- Phill744 (8/5): A fabulous choice for a short business stay. - The room facilities were great, it has everything needed for a short stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and I really appreciated the power shower :) The carpet was stained and pulled in many places, this could do with replacement.
- Vasileios (1/5): Avoid booking there - Nothing I was mislead regarding the room when i booked there was no description that it was an apartment with 2 smaller apartments inside and we had a shared corridor with the second apartment and the bathroom was outside the bedroom and you had to walk thru the shared corridor to unlock the bathroom with another key and finally go there.
There was NO SUPPORT from the manager and from Booking.com also when i mentioned that when i made the reservation i wasn't informed of this situation the owner blamed booking that it was their fault Anyway it was an awful experience
- Carlos Bien (4/5): None - Only the location because is near to Excel There's no lift, not accessible specially if you have a big language, you have to collect the key from the shop, sharing toilet, you can't leave your language after check-out.
- Teddy (5/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): -
- Hayley (1/5): Avoid - The views. Thats was the only bonus Check in was difficult.
No TV remote so couldn't watch TV.
No bath plug for a bath
Room not as expected. No fridge or microwave as described.
Cannot talk to anyone so they just get away with it.
No response on partial refund
- Neil (7/5): -
- Gareth (8/5): - Very easy check-in process. Room was a great size, with fantastic views across the dock. Check-out was very simple. Nothing. It was everything I needed it to be.
- alison (4/5): Not one for women!! Unsafe - Decor and view Checkin process was disgraceful! I was arriving v late on my own at night and was told to go to a shop get a key drive to a hotel carpark go up some steps?! Seriously get a keybox!!!!
- lei (7/5): Okay but not really a whole apartment - The location is spot on Almost no communication and could not find the remote control with the TV. It's actually a room in an apartment although you do have your own toilet. It's all a bit awkward.
- Grant (5/5): Was ok for the price - Location & View Ripped carpets, iron mark in floor, the unbearable heat until the timer comes on for the air con to work
- Thaniel (9/5): -
- Risto Klausen (10/5): -
- Hammad (10/5): -
- Sudy Bakker (10/5): -
- Rachel (8/5): - The location was excellent. The views from the apartment were amazing. Price was great. Liked that there was a fridge and microwave. Bed was comfy and the room is lovely. Would definitely stay again. That we didn't know you had to collect keys until after we'd actually booked. The walk to collect them is literally over the bridge so not to far away, although carrying your luggage there and back wasn't fun. It also needs to be mentioned that you have to pay a small fee, again not stated until you've already booked.
The TV didn't work. Sound but no picture.
- Ken (5/5): Bizarre stay, gaining access was a complete farce - Location good - stunning view
Bed good If the TV worked - sound only no picture
Only 1 wine glass and 1 tumbler for 2 occupants - really?
Bathroom not as clean as would have liked
Never could access entry or exit instructions
Worth £145 + £10 damage waver?, I don't think so.
- Tobias (9/5): -
- Eugenio (7/5): Not best first impression but it gets much better - The room is nice and cozy, with many commodities. A fridge/microwave is always handy to have. And amazing view The requirements to get the keys was terrible. We were not told there was a walk to a store nearby for the key and under a heat of 32 degrees, it was a haunting first impression
- sam (7/5): -
- Jacob (6/5): Serverd its purpose - Simple clean easy to check in and out of A fridge would have been great.
And it was a little strange to find 1 cup, 2 tablespoons, one knife and no forks ….
- Nigel (9/5): Great location for ExCel - Location is amazing. 3-4 minutes walk from ExCel & local restaurants
Wonderful wharf & city views
Nice big room & great ensuite
Very comfy The key collection is 10 minutes walk, there & back with heavy bags in the sun was quite a trek
You have to pay an additional fee for accidental damage after booking but before you get check-in details
Big iron burn mark in the middle of the carpet
- Theodoros (1/5): Attention business travelers, stay away! - Nothing There is no way for you to get the invoice from the accommodation (I reached out many times, booking.com reached out multiple times and got no reply back from the accomodation - which actually violates their contractual obligation towards booking.com), no way for my company to reimburse the expense. Stay there was very disappointing at the very least with a separate toilet/bathroom nearby at a shared location and the accommodation not being as described.
- Saleena (8/5): Lovely Airy Apartment - The whole area is so spacious and the views were incredible. I would definitely book here again. Some of the lights were not working and one had a missing bulb. The fridge did not work, the WiFi on the TV was not working, there were some leftover items from other people who stayed there (not that it bothered us too much).
As we arrived, my friend accidentally locked the front door as you enter into the apartment (just from the habit of doing so). A rude couple were banging on the front door trying to get in. I quickly went to open it as I realised what had happened and explained the situation as we had only just arrived and it being our first time here but they gave me the most ridiculous attitude and screwed face as if we're meant to know.
- Joshua (1/5): It’s a decent property, but it needs cleaned properly and lift needs repaired. - It was in a great location. It wasn’t cleaned properly, there was dirty underwear left in a drawer in bathroom. There was also moths everywhere and the towels smelt of damp. The lift also doesn’t work and property is on the 10th floor.
- Layla (7/5): Good - The room had a fantastic view, which I think was what we paid for, the owner was very helpful and helped us with the boiler issues very early hours in the morning, very good access to train station and the Excel. We forgot a jacket in the hotel room and they were fantastic when it came to recovering the jacket. While closing the window, the handle completely broke off unfortunately we had to sleep with the window wide open and it was very windy and rainy so the room was extremely cold, had issues with the water so I wasn’t able to shower for one of the nights , hardly any toilet paper
- Don (10/5): Great view not easy access for stroller. - I like the view, the bed and the location. A bit complicated to collect and delivery the keys, also there isn’t easy access with a ramp or elevator for strollers or luggage to reach the entrance of the building.
- Aqeel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsty (7/5): Convenient for passport office. - Everything was good. View was amazing. Brilliant location for getting an emergency passport. This is a shared flat. You get the master ensuite if taking King Room but share flat with other occupier. Not sure that is very clear from the web page. We thought we were booking a hotel. If you need luggage store while waiting for passport it's free at the Excel. Someone entering the room in the middle of the night. Not sure what happened there ! Also as others have said no milk but it was fine we picked some up.
- Anonymous (9/5): Ideal - Perfect for us, great location, 5 minute walk from Custom House tube, 2 min walk to excel
Huge room, light, airy, warm, clean, great views, plenty of plug sockets N/A
- Bettina (7/5): Good - Very friendly service. I was brought an extra,, more flat pillow within a few hours after I had asked for it. The view of the room is amazing and it is just a few minutes walk away from the conference centre. The location really is great! There were a lot of moths in the bathroom, when I first saw it. This was taken care of it immediately however.
There are two rooms in the accommodation. One is ensuite, the other one has the bathroom across the aisle.
Unfortunately I had the room with the separate bathroom, which I felt somewhat uncomfortable with as a single female traveller.
Both the room and the bathroom could benefit from a makeover. The bathroom has a number of water stains and could greatly benefit from a painting. The heater, bucket etc. also look rusty.
In the bedroom, the blinds need to be replaced. One cannot close them entirely and one looks directly outside the window when lying in bed. It clearly does nor give one sufficient privacy.
This also means it is very bright in the morning.
- Gavin (6/5): Nice location but could be maintained a little better - View was lovely nice large TV and kettle at hand as well as iron
But Bed/mattress seen better days, some blinds missing and didn’t work properly.
Shower head was loose and made it difficult to use.
- Daniel (4/5): Disappointing - The view was very good. Had to repair the bed before using it. The bathroom was outside, which I had to reach over a public floor.
- Gela (10/5): Exceptional - The view was amazing, also everything you need is in 1-3 minutes from the place. Also, would recommend leaving the EU adaptor in the room, cause if the person comes from Europe, the adaptor must be bought in the nearest shop. And one of the most important things - the iron and the ironing board were provided - that is really a rare thing. The place is very safe, and the whole apartment complex is amazing and very beautiful. Super clean building I was always afraid to get out without the key cause the door closes automatically, but this is my own fear; sure, guys will react and fix it right away if I were so dumb to leave without the key (Happened a couple of times during my other trips).
- Adrian (7/5): Location was great - room was suitably clean - as it was for work but wouldn’t probably use for a personal trip - Location and view were excellent The person in the room next door burnt bacon two days in a row setting the fire alarms off and making the whole apartment smell of bacon - which is not a great smell on your work clothes! Also - the shower head did not stay upright and the hose was leaking so you had to strategically position it so it didn’t soak the whole bathroom. The window blinds were broken and missing two slats so as soon as daylight you were wide awake! Could also have done with a comfy chair in the room with a back on to work at the desk as the stool was not overly comfortable to sit on and work.
- Dax (9/5): Superb -
- Tina (10/5): Excellent location, really helpful owner. Gorgeous view - The location was great, clean and comfortable Nothing apart from it could’ve done with more of a kitchen
- Michael (8/5): We had a very enjoyable stay but would only re book if the issues listed were not resolved- just needs a little tlc to m - Location was excellent - really great views with the sun streaming in on the last day from the south facing big windows bed was very comfortable - We were here 2 years ago and unfortunately some things haven’t been fixed since then: the sink plug still broken so unable to fill sink - although it is clean the bedroom walls are stained and need a lick of paint - the bathroom is very tired looking and needs attention - the radiator is rusty and the bin and toilet brush holder need replacing along with the sink plug-
The right hand window catch is broken so cannot fully shut window - only one cup and glass was provided but there were 2 of us
We couldn’t log onto the Wi-Fi so not sure if password is correct
- Yomi (8/5): Good value for money. - The view was great, room was tidy and very spacious. On call support was excellent! Check-in instructions were clear and easy to understand. Checkout was seamless. TV was not working but didn't have need for it so was not really a problem.
- Katie (8/5): Beautiful view and comfortable bed. - Accessing the keys. Instructions were not sent out the day of arrival so it made it a bit more complicated. It was resolved quickly though.
- James (5/5): Passable - Getting an invoice from the property for my stay was a mission. Waiting for the invoice for 2 months and counting.
- Charlotte (9/5): Great stay for ExCel - The staff was amazing! Very quick to respond and give us what we need it. Graciously allowed my husband to check in super early. Very clean. Great location for the ExCel (3 min walk). Metro 5 min walk. Cable Car 5 min walk. Shops to buy groceries and restaurants 1 min walk. I would recommend and I would book again.
- Dulce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ditartas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pritam (9/5): Superb -
- Nicky (6/5): Close to excel, lovely river and city view, nice and clean, private bathroom across the corridor. - A nice clean room and bathroom in an apartment block.
Fantastic view across the docklands. Easy access once I had the keys.
5 minutes walk from the excel centre, 10 minutes from Customs House station. The text with instructions on how to access the property didn't arrive before I needed to check in, so that caused a few anxious moments. However, the owner of the Apartment picked up my call quickly and the problem was sorted.
I forgot that when something is advertised with a private bathroom that it means it is separate, so the lovely clean bathroom is across the hallway and since it is in a shared apartment, you have keys to both bedroom and bathroom. It's fine - just remember your pyjamas.
- Claire (8/5): Great location, lovely comfy bed! - Close to the excel, was clean & tidy - great view! Great view & close to everything g we needed! A couple of issues but contact is now aware & making good.
- Tim (8/5): Comfortable, clean, good value and very convenient for the Excel Centre - Location, view, comfort, price only 1 bath towel and such a shame to only have one tea/coffee cup and no type of UHT or any form of milk to join the tea and coffee facilities provided
- John (10/5): Very nice time thank you - Great view, clean and tidy N/A
- Alison (9/5): Superb - What a view!
Perfect from the Excel
Great communication
- Paul (5/5): Poor safety and tired room - Location Conditions, windows wouldn’t close an extraction fan in room very noisy all day and night noisy as the local plans took off because the windows wouldn’t close.
No water supplied in room and no fire safety notes in room
- Chinomnso (4/5): Bed frame needs fixing, throw pillows need laundry, no smoking, perhaps? - I'm only happy with the fact that the apartment is very close to the location of the conference I attended, and the room was in order and well decorated. I stayed in Apartment 73. When I stepped into the apartment, everywhere was smelling of cigarette and it was choking. The room ad said it was a non-smoking facility, but whoever was in the next room had made the whole apartment to be smelling of cigarettes. While the room ad said I'd get a private bathroom, it didn't say the bathroom was not in the room, and I didn't like that. The doors lock when you step out. This meant that every time I needed to use the bathroom, I had to go with the keys, I just wish I knew the situation before arriving. The sheets and everything looked nice but the throw pillows were smelling like they hadn't been washed in months. I could not use them, and I had to put them on the floor for the period I was there. When I laid on the mattress, I could tell that the bed frame was either broken or incorrectly placed, so in the two nights I spent there, lying on the bed felt like I was lying on a slope. I left there with body pains. I do not think I got value for my money.
- Ioulia (8/5): Very good - Stunning view, incredible location A few bits and pieces need fixing but other than that comfortable and clean
- Gabby (7/5): Pleasant enough. But very over priced for what it is. Almost the same and more than most hotel stays - Bedroom very nice and bed comfortable with all the amenities you might need in the room. Eg kettle, iron etc.
Host responsive on the day. The response to the messages I asked prior to the stay were ignored. The WiFi didn’t work initially.
The bathroom light is located outside of the bathroom which in a shared apartment is disconcerting.
- Jonathan (1/5): Bad - Door was broken, utility was dirty and smelled, fridge way held up by wood, TV didn't work. And instructions to enter where unclear.
- Emma (8/5): Great apartment, perfect location for ExCel London - Lovely well presented, clean, comfortable apartment. Excellent, easy walking distance for ExCel Exhibition venue London
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Chaminda (8/5): Good location but hassle of collecting the key - Location, Clean, comfortable bed Key collection process, connecting to the wifi
- Annex (8/5): Serene. Quiet. Best Location for ExceL - Location Location Location really the best place of you have an event at the ExceL The bathroom was outside where we were spending most of our time. No fridge.
- Rachel (9/5): The communication was fab, collecting the key is a little awkward if you’re new to London, but if I can manage it, anyon - Property was pristine, lovely and comfortable, brilliant location Everything was perfect, only thing I’d suggest is some milk sachets to go with the tea/coffee making facilities
- Jack (9/5): Pleasant - The location and convenience of it. Also the affordability of the apartment. Felt like a gold dust room to be living in! I felt like the locking was a bit complicated and excessive.
- Nadja (3/5): Poor - - The room itself was very nice, big and clean.
- I think it's a good alternative to stay for students. - The hallway sticks of cold smoke. Someone clearly smokes in the property as a fresh smoke smell comes into the room and also the bathroom. It must be the tenant in the 'private' room.
- There is a single lock on the bedroom door which is of very poor quality. The second one doesn't work.
- I don't recommend staying here as a single woman! It doesn't feel safe at all.
- Also, I had no contact with anyone in person that makes it feel very dodgy.
- Flora (8/5): Room was good for what we needed which was a bed for the night - The views were amazing Bathroom down the corridor and although there was tea and coffee there was not milk for it
- Nicodempl (4/5): Don't go, really. Not worth even the view or location. Read the description wisely... - Location for excel shows and view Actually this was a bad stay honestly. Wifi is not working.
Supposed to be for non-smokers but it's not. Bad smell everywhere + someone from next room smoked like hell. And as you have joined corridor and a bathroom (private, key locked) across I had to deal with smoke. Not nice.
everything smelled like an old pub.
Window shades are broken, bed is uneven. AC broken.
Well pillows were fine, same for view. But never again. Really shame as this has such a big potential.
- Jane (8/5): A great find in London. - Fantastic location. Keys were easy to collect and drop off. Lovely views. All very clean and comfortable. I booked both rooms as was travelling with a friend. This made a whole unit which was very private.
- Alaszewski (8/5): Lovely view, comfortable bed and the room was clean. - Lovely view, comfortable bed and the room was clean. On arrival to London and our day of entry we still had not received details on how to get into the apartment. We had to call a Wild Roses adviser to be informed. The telephone number for Wild Roses was incorrect on booking.com site. Luckily google informed us. Until we spoke to an adviser we were very worried that we had been scammed. The bathroom door was impossible to lock from the outside.
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Theresa (7/5): Perfect for a short stay. - Perfect location close to the ExCel.
Amazing views.
Public transportation nearby. No bathroom in the room but across the shared hallway.
Windows and mirrors could have used some more cleaning.
- Sara (10/5): Nice spcious and cozy room with amazing views - The room was spacious with everything you might need. The views are amazing and it is quiet and cozy. Nothing
- Mirthe (5/5): Practical over comfort. - Location was perfect if you need to be in the congress centre. The view was amazing. There were things broken: shower head holder, other parts in the shower, desk lamp, 1 window could not open.
Key pick up was a 10 minute walk, and communication about that was missing at first.
The location of the apartment did not show clearly in google maps.
Air conditioning was missing on the hot days.
- Dalia (10/5): Exceptional - View, location Difficult to found that place or maybe not enough information where the reception, and process how to get the keys.
- Danso (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (6/5): Good view but pricey for what it is - I adored the view There were insects in the bathroom and the curtains were broken. The price was outrageous for what it was
- Karen (8/5): I felt very comfortable and relaxed in the room. It was great to have large panoramic windows which allowed plenty of li - The property was very clean and fresh,
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom spacious, the chair was comfortable too as long as you didn’t move it.
Having a fridge, microwave, kettle and crockery etc. was a bonus and enough for my needs. Only two issues - on of the chair legs was just perched under the chair, so when I moved the chair the leg fell off. And the hand held shower bracket was broken so had to balance it or let it drop onto the shower tray
- Has (9/5): Superb -
- Martina (5/5): Comfy bed, great location, shame about the thermostat not working and blinds not being able to close - I like the comfort of the bed, location and the fact it was a small intimate room. The arrangement to get the keys was accessible and well instructed with all the details sent to me personally via WhatsApp. I did not like the fact the blinds did not close, the thermostat was broken & only 1 window would open which then made me very hot during the night. The bathroom shower hose was split which the water spilled out of the sides which made the floor wet.
I was told there was another female staying there but I hear male voices in the room next door. I don't mind it's just that I asked and was told it was only 2 of us there.
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and views from room good value for money room decor was lovely will definitely stay here again
