Guest Reviews
- Qasim (3/5): - Lots of smell from the room no proper cleaning No any body wash and handwash available in bathroom
- Sonia (7/5): -
- Alex (6/5): Recommended for a night or two - This might not be the most modern of places, but it was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and the price was fantastic!
- Chris (8/5): -
- Zoe (6/5): It served a purpose, i got a good nights sleep there - I stayed here for one night after a week in a local hospital, before i could travel home
Positives:
- the bed was extremely comfortable
- the room was clean
- the en-suite bathroom was lovely and clean
- the area was very quiet so no issues sleeping Negatives:
- there was no wifi in the room at all. The note stuck on the back of the door gave a network and password, but that network didnt come up at all, so thats disappointing in such a location. I ended up having to use my phone credit
- checkout in the morning, no staff to be found anywhere at all, i could have done with some help to get my bags downstairs. So checkout was literally leave the key in the room door and go which i didn't think was very professional
- the room was cold, despite there being a piping hot radiator, the bed was pushed up tight against it and covered its entire length, so the only bit of the radiator giving off any heat was the top edge
- Tracey (7/5): Great location but the sheets, although clean, smelt of smoke !! - The staff were friendly and the bed was lovely and heated. The sheets were clean but smelt of smoke !!!
- Martin (7/5): -
- SUHROB (10/5): - Всё понравилось
- Georgia (5/5): -
- Sheriff (5/5): -
- Edward (4/5): This guest house is very basic - The location is great. The manager was friendly. The room was very cold, even though there was a radiator which I turned up high. There was no shampoo or shower gel, and the hand soap was watered down.

- Mckie (10/5): - Was nice and quiet calm tranquil as well
- anoop (3/5): Bad experience 35 a night for a shared room and not able to rest. publove are better cheaper - bad experience. I was not allowed to check in till 2 hours after check in time and stuck in cold. They have water and coffee but no cups or utensils. The room is connected to another room so disturbed as people walking throgh the room while we sleep and weeake us up. The other guests up all night listening to YouTube loud and no one to complain to, after being tired. Worse is they lock the front door so if you leave cannot get back in until a wait and they answer door. Could not go out and come back as the staff sleep and so they want a key deposit which is ridiculous, we should be allowed to access the room and house and +++++
- Niall (4/5): Overpriced- Stayed for weekend (one night too many) but won’t be back. - It was located central but in a quiet area of the town The bedroom was next to shared toilet/shower room for all other guests. Paper thin walls heard EVERYTHING. Shower soap watered down. No loo roll. Needed to get some. Towels not cleaned after use. Shared coffee/tea facilities in hallway. Overpriced!
- Souza (7/5): Ótima localização e o recepcionista mt gentil e atencioso. - Localização Barulho do aquecedor. Atrapalha a dormir
- FERNANDO (2/5): - Deplorable
- Penny (8/5): -
- george (7/5): -
- Archbold (1/5): - nothing guests, facilities were non existent and unavailable
- Bryan (10/5): friendly and quiet house in the center of wimbledon. - location
there was only 2 guests
- Bryan (8/5): -
- Hyuna (5/5): -
- Sam (10/5): -
- James (8/5): Enjoyable and good value - Handy location, peaceful and great value big room
- Pola (8/5): -
- Benjamin (5/5): Not worth £90 - The location was excellent. Exceptionally close to central Wimbledon and the transport connections.
The door locked. We had to message to access the property, after one of the other tenants told us they couldn't let us in. The shower was out of order, however they did say we could use the one in the hallway. They put an out of order sign on to try and keep it private. There were no towels provided, even though the room was described as having towels. So no hand towel to dry our hands on. The room wasn't clean, there were still small mysterious hairs on the bedside table, and stains on the table and chest of draws. The bedding smelled of damp. The hand soap was 80% water. The flush on the toilet was broken, and replaced with a stick. A water dispenser was offered by the front door, which looked like it could use a significant clean.
- Syed Hadi Ali (1/5): - Nothing There were no towels no handwashing in washroom
No toilet rolls as well waste of money
- Claire (1/5): Absolutey terrible. - Nothing No lock on the door - incredibly unsafe for a single female. No fire alarms in the room - illegal!
Shower didn’t work - paid extra for a room with en-suite and couldn’t even use it!
Road noise was ridiculous
Noise outside the room was ridiculous - could literally hear people peeing.
Curtains were useless - didn’t keep any light out.
“WIFI” was a joke - it was a mobile dongle that I eventually found in a drawer.

- TING-CHEN (7/5): -
- Emmanuel (8/5): - Location easy to identify the place There was no bathing soap
- Heikki (10/5): -
- Ralph (8/5): -
- Shane (7/5): - Excellent location close to Wimbledon station and 30-40 minute walk from the tennis, friendly accommodating staff At times in the morning shower can fluctuate between boiling hot and cold.
- Priscilla (8/5): -
- Marguerita (7/5): Compton guest house. - More or less close to Wimbledon station the taxi though went the long way around didn't pick up my case so I had to go back to the village where I waved him I was very cold I was hurried so left my laptop lead I am now heading back on the train
- Friend (8/5): -
- Mary (9/5): Superb - Our room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. We would have liked to be able to make hot drinks in our room and there was no shower gel provided.
- Stephen-paul (3/5): Great location but terrible facilities - Excellent location beside library and 10 minutes to station There no signage at house. Rang bell lady didnt know i booked. No plug by bed had to charge phone on floor at other side of room. Shower room sink blocked. Clean but rough looking. For less money you get better facilities in a hostel. There small water machine and coffee jar at bottom of stairs but no cups or kettle
- Santhana (7/5): Short stay for wimbledon matches it is good - Very close to Wimbledon, it was convineent to go early moring to for Q Shared bathroom on first floor
- Deepak (5/5): Badly run hostel with untrained and rude staff who are never available - Good location Absentee owner. 2 staff running the hostel. The male is rude and seems always angry. The young female staff is pleasant but untrained. The front door is closed and one has to ring the bell for up to 20 minutes before anyone shows up. They gave me key for front door but wanted 10 pounds cash deposit immediately. I told them that I will go and get some small cash for this but he kept reminding me several times within 3 hours of check in. There is a fridge, microwave and coffee/tea and a basic table to sit but no kitchen where u can cook or use. When I was ready for check out on the last evening and return the key, I could not find anyone to return my deposit for 30 minutes! Do not recommend this place at all!
- Susan (9/5): One night stay - Free tea and coffee, late check in, friendly staff, no curfew time. People snoring very loudly but not the guest house' fault
- Miguel (7/5): Good -
- Lorna (2/5): The room was comfortable enough the bed was actually very comfy , but didn’t have a shower as the head of the shower was - The location No sign outside to say what it was , door was locked and had to phone to get in. People outside smoking drugs and drinking .
- Mike (10/5): All in all would stay there again - Had a really good stay can’t fault anything staff were nice, soft beds, toilets were good generally overall very good stay Just my luck but had the wrong guests stay in the room with me alcoholics & playing loud music in the early morning
- Romel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (9/5): Perfect for a short stay - Ideally located for Wimbledon and a 5 minute walk to tube station
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zuhair (8/5): Basic, clean room, great location, excellent value for money. - Basic room but great for the price and location. Very clean. Seamless check-in and check-out experience. No wifi. Login details were present in the room but the wifi network listed didn't appear on my device.

- Rain (8/5): Very good -
- Brett (8/5): Good choice in the area with friendly and helpful staff - Excellent communication and very friendly staff. Easy walk from the station. Good choice if staying in the area Wifi wasn't great, but if I were to stay a second night, I would have gotten it fixed. The Vodafone hotspot didn't seem to work. Glad they had a plan B
- Stephen (7/5): Good -
- Claire (9/5): Perfect for a short stay - Very good location, close to train station and town centre and not too far from Wimbledon for the Championships. The room was a good size, clean and no issues with anything. The owner was lovely and very helpful Tea/Coffee in the room would have been nice but you can help yourself to hot and cold water from the machine on the ground floor along with tea, coffee and some small sweet treats
- Bev (8/5): Very good -
- Ruth (8/5): Easy to find and fantastic location. Clean and comfortable - Very responsive and accommodating about check in time.
- Johannes (8/5): Very good -
- Samantha (10/5): Excellent. Loved the owner. - The lady in charge was amazing. She was happy to accommodate me even. When I was just booking from day to day. She always made sure I was home safely after work. She was absolutely amazing. The lady in charge made me feel safe and provided me with a safe environment.
- Bev (10/5): Very good value for money - The landlady was amazing very caring and as I wasn't feeling well checked on me regularly N/A
- Cezary (2/5): Was ok :) - Location Chinese mood
No access to the kitchen
No access to the iron
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (7/5): Basic but sufficiently comfortable place to stay 10 minutes walk from central Wimbledon. - Close to many restraunts in central Wimbledon but sufficiently far enough away to be quiet at night. Room was basic but has ensuite bathroom with shower fully functional. The double room (Room 6) was fine for a single traveller but would have been tight for two p[eople. Free parking from 6;30pm until 8:30am nearby but this meant an early departure if you had a car.
- Eszter (8/5): Very good -
- Terry (6/5): Pleasant -
- Chrysoula (5/5): Passable -
- Shehroz (9/5): Superb -
- Emmanuella (10/5): Exceptional -

- Mary (5/5): The room was clean basic . The staff was very helpful . - Didn't have breakfast as was up early to travel to south fields for tennis Up 2 flights of stairs to room .
People using toilet throughout the night which was next to my room this woke me alot of the night.
- Steven (7/5): Comfortable one night stay - Fairly basic accommodation but clean, a comfortable bed and a surprisingly good shower. Ideal location as well on a quiet residential road, only five minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from Wimbledon Village. No tea and coffee in room. A better towel wouldn't have gone amiss.
- Alison (7/5): Good -
- Ian (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Excellent stay at Compton House in Wimbledon. - The house was very easy to get to from public transit, in a beautiful neighbourhood, and was close to the main shopping area by Wimbledon tube station with lots of grocery stores and food options. The room was clean and quiet, and had a television, desk table, ample storage and lots of electrical outlets. The bed was very comfortable, and there was good lighting for reading. The washroom was clean and the shower was spacious and easy to use. The Wi-Fi worked well. Tea and coffee were available downstairs by the kitchen. No complaints, everything was very good.
- Lucy (8/5): Very reasonably priced accommodation which met our expectations and a 5 minute walk from the tube - Hosts friendly and quick to reply to my query about an adjusted check in time which was quite late. Room was basic but very clean and bed was comfy. Kettle and tea and coffee in room would have been great
- Seamus (8/5): Very good -
- G. (1/5): The Guest house from hell!! - Location was ok Pretty much everything! No one there to let us in when we arrived. Heating was inadequate. Electrics were dodgy. Hot water was only luke warm. Tea/ coffee making facilities were awful! No boiling water to make tea. No milk. Not even uht. Just powder. AND NO TEASPOONS! Absolutely dreadfull place. I really want my money back!!!😤😤😤😤
- Peter (9/5): Superb - The proprietor and Proprietress were very friendly and helpful. The location was great for our needs and convenient for travelling to the Oval Cricket Ground. The only thing that would have been nice was to have carpet on the floors, otherwise nothing.
- Lukas (8/5): Good value for the money you pay - Close to wimbledon
- Andleeb (7/5): It was comfortable and peaceful. - The location was great. Very quite and peaceful. The hosts were very friendly. There isn’t anything I disliked.
- Siu (9/5): Superb - Tidy and clean, has a heating blanket make it very comfortable in the winter If having a electric kettle in the room will be much better
- Lauras21 (8/5): Very good - Guest house is located in nice neighbourhood, some 5 min walk from high street shops and pubs, 10 min walk from station. Wimbledon Lawn Tennis museum in walkable distance from guest house. Also bus stop quite close.
Upon request was provided with kettle, tea, milk and sugar. After checking out was allowed to leave luggage for few hours. Hair dryer was provided. Room was cold, even though heaters were on and very warm. Tv and internet signal quite weak in the room. Small hand soaps or soap dispenser could be provided.
- Andrew (8/5): Nice quiet and airy room - Was very handy for the shops and train and trams I didn't drive there, so not sure its easy to park a car around there
- Trevane (5/5): Passable - No breakfast available. Location ideal for my purpose to visit Wimbledon. Good access via tube into city. Good transportation by train for Gatwick airport. Quiet residential area. The host runs a school, so frankly focus is on their students and not the guests. Hot and cold water available only in the lobby for water bottle/thermos flask. No shampoo or soap In en-suite guest bedroom.
