Guest Reviews
- Julia (10/5): - The suite was very spacious with a very comfortable, large bed. The bathroom was large with heated floors, which was a treat. And the location was very convenient, close to pubs, restaurants, bus stops and touring sites.
- Zoé (10/5): Excellent séjour - Grande chambre très confortable. Entrée autonome très pratique et simple. Beaucoup de boissons dans la chambre

- Karleen (8/5): Relaxing space with loads of character in a great location. - The location of this property was great! It’s a beautiful suite with loads of character and the bed was comfortable. Nice seating area and was pleasantly surprised to find that a mini bar was available. It was quieter than we expected based on some of the reviews, but we didn’t stay mid-week, so that might have helped. The frosted glass door on the bathroom doesn’t offer a lot of privacy, so if you’re not staying with your partner, that might be uncomfortable. Though not an issue for us, you might want to know that the Oscar Wilde suite (with its beautiful open beam ceilings) is on the top floor requiring you to climb 56 steps 😅
- Thomas4dec72 (10/5): Excellent - The bed was super comfortable.
No street noise which is unbelievable considering it's location.
The 20% discount was handy for breakfast, and the breakfast was still kind of expensive but excellent. N/A
- Ida Marie (7/5): Good stay in comfortable room - Very central- excellent location Steep stairs - and a bit dodgy neighbours…
- Heidi (9/5): An extremely comfortable home from home experience, - Room was delightful in every way Not being aware that I have 8 flights of stairs to navigate with my luggage
- dilek fevziye (10/5): -
- Lynette (8/5): A good base to be part of the action in Temple Bar. - Fantastic location - right in Temple Bar, close to sights, pubs and restaurants. Despite this, the room was quiet. Nil
- Lara (9/5): - Absolutely stunning room, good location.
- Sue (10/5): Absolutely amazing - The layout cleanliness comfort location Shower was slow
- Niko (8/5): -
- Darren (8/5): Luxurious stay in a great location. - Central location, round around the corner from Temple Bar.
The suite was large and really well decorated. Finished to a high standard. Self check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow. Room was ready on time. The hallways were loud. I think some form of thicker carpet could help mask people's footsteps in certain places, as you could hear every step taken. Some outdoor noise but thats not the hotels fault.
The bathroom was separated by a glass door so with the blind in place the room didnt go totally black which meant by 6am the room was fairly well lit. Some blackout blinds would be ideal.
- Kim (8/5): - Perfect location, beautiful building, no issues at all!
- Chris (9/5): - Great location
- Declan (10/5): -
- Sara (10/5): If I come back to Ireland and want to stay in Dublin, I would stay there - Close to everything that we wanted to do The room was awesome. The only negative was the shower drain was clogged with hair.
- Sara (10/5): This property is comfortable and the location is exceptional for walking to everything that is down town, Dublin. - The location and the size of the room were amazing
- Andy (8/5): Nice stay overall , but couldn’t contact staff - Comfy bed , nice bathroom Located near music venue was a little annoying, but you got used to it
- Fiona (10/5): Hidden gem in the heart of Dublin -loved our stay there! - Adored our room, top floor the climb is worth it. High ceiling, bricked chimney/fireplace, modern clean bathroom, comfortable bed, couch and tv, unusual shape and layout, very chic, loved it all Nothing
- Paddy (5/5): Good room but if you want a nights sleep, not for you - It was compact, and clean It was very noisy at night as there was a venue next door that the music continued to play throughout the night and I got no sleep.
- Rowe (10/5): -
- Mireia (7/5): -
- Sam (10/5): - It’s fresh and clean and the location is great
- Sienna (10/5): -

- Jacqui (9/5): Would 100% recommend this place to anyone staying in Dublin. - The room was absolutely gorgeous. Very large room space and lovely bathroom with heated floors. Check in was so easy and they my accommodated our request for early check in. Location right in the heart of temple bar made getting around super easy. The only downside was the lack of pressure in the shower.
- Ruben (9/5): Had a great stay! Massive room, great location and very affordable -
- Chelsea (10/5): Excellent room - Excellent location, so clean, lovely room Bath room only covered but small panel of frosted glass
- Anastasia (9/5): -
- Karine (10/5): Chambre très confortable et tout près de Temple bar - Proximité des pubs Rien
- Brendan (9/5): - Beautiful suite.
- Marianna (10/5): I recommend this accommodation - Very good location, self check-in, Nice and clean room Nothing

- Victoria (10/5): Luxury Suite in City Centre - Beautiful, luxury suite in the heart of Dublin. I stayed for a night as a treat and hope to stay again, what more can I say. 10/10 🤍
- Maria Luiza (10/5): - Lovely staff and good communication, very clean, amazing location, accurate photos, comfortable bed and pillows. Fully equipped with a mini fridge you can purchase items from, soaps and lotions in the bathroom, and a coffee machine with coffee capsules.
I definitely recommend.
- Kait (8/5): Ideal location & comfy room - Location & quality of the room. Clear instructions how to gain entry. Room key safe was a little fiddly and I couldn’t get the TV system to show live TV
- Anna (9/5): - Korábban érkeztünk és letehettük a csomagjainkat a szoba elfoglalásáig!
- Mireia (6/5): -
- Crystal (10/5): Nice location. Easy check in and check out. - Great location. Did not have to deal with any other boarders. Easy check in and check out. Discount on parking. Spacious room and bathroom. Extra pillows. Fridge, drinks, coffee and tea. Extra heater/fan. The “adult” store next door had very loud music. It was usually on until 10-11pm and was very hard to drown out. Wasn’t crazy about the shower doors, but loved the hot water.
- Lee (8/5): -
- Jenna-rae (10/5): - Very central, clean and comfortable and accommodated birthday requests and early check in. Couldn’t be happier! Nothing
- conall (10/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- sean (9/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Great location No iPod dock as advertised, no instructions to use tv
- Linda (9/5): - Location, decor,
- Nikki (9/5): Loved it. - Fantastic location, easy check-in, spacious room, very clean, comfortable bed, lovely old building well restored. The only slight downside was the water pressure in the shower, not great. The stairs are narrow and steep so not good for big cases or unfit people.
- Solé García (9/5): -
- Rudolf (10/5): -
- Peter (8/5): Great room and location but let down by the wifi. - Excellent location and very central to the historic district Wifi was advertised but non existent. Normally that would be ok but made it hard to decide best venues etc. for what we paid I would expect the wifi they nominate on the website. Our friends in a room on the floor below tried to contact the host several times with no response.
- Victoria (10/5): Beautiful. - - Clean
- Amazing Location
- Quiet (Given the location)
- Clear communication from owner
Genuinely really pleased with the stay, the level of care for the guests stay and comfort is obvious. Thank you for having us! Nothing. It was exceptional!
- David (9/5): -
Nada a referir!
- Kate (9/5): - Easy to get to. Good location. Room spacious and clean.
- Karl (8/5): -
- Anne (9/5): - Great location. Modern comfortable accommodation.
- Keith (3/5): I think your establishment was deceiving. The directions to get in were also wrong. NEVER AGAIN - The room was clean. We didn't like that fact that it was a no contact motel, basically. The website made it sounds like someone was going to be there. The worst part was the loud drumming noise from 3:30pm-1:30am NEVER AGAIN. EVER.
- Ria (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Pietro (10/5): -
- Jerry (8/5): Gorgeous rooms within walking distance - Jane was so helpful getting us in our room early by calling the owners to get approval. After the first night, we moved to a different room (just because we wanted to) and she allowed us to transfer the luggage directly before she had finished cleaning the room. Give Jane a raise! She was wonderful. The toilet in the Yeats room didn’t flush well so we were glad we were moving to Wilde for the second night.
- Chris (9/5): -
- sadie (9/5): - Lovely room. Wasn't noisy. Easy access and location fantastic. The bathroom had no heating, so it was absolutely freezing with temperatures being 0 and below at times it wasnt ideal. Also a light not working above the toilet.
- Colm (6/5): -
- Joyce (9/5): - Location, cleanliness and comfort Bathroom fan very noisy
Coffee offer poor and no spoon
- Giannina (10/5): -
- James (8/5): Nice stay love Dublin - Location and cleanliness Shower not much power and toilet wouldn’t flush
- Anastasia (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): - Perfect location, comfy bed, easy access and simple instructions , lovely shower and heated floor in the bathroom
- Peter (1/5): - Err the exposed brick It was freezing, the host did not respond. The room has one tiny radiator but it is double height... Thoughtless... We had to stay elsewhere. The host went dark when I asked for my money back.
- Pips (8/5): Beautiful building, super comfy bed, spacious, and very responsive hosts - Excellent very friendly communication with the hosts; we’d asked to leave our luggage before and after check in/out and we were told the room was ready early and we left our cases in the hall after check out.
We’d asked for the single sofa bed to be made up for my nephew, and it was … lovely bedding on that and the bed, and both were really comfortable with a good choice of pillows.
Great central location close to temple bar, but no noise we noticed from the bars (I wore earplugs, my nephew didn’t but slept like a log!)
Good WiFi, coffee machine and kettle, with coffee pods and teabags and a mini fridge/mini bar we didn’t use, but there’s space for milk & breakfast bits if you’re staying longer than we did.
Lovely big windows which opened for fresh air, and when we got back and closed them, the heating worked quickly and we soon turned it off.
Shower and bathroom were very well equipped, clean and spacious … but read on for privacy if you’re not a couple! There was a stag group staying in the apartment upstairs, not the hosts’ fault at all, but they were quite noisy coming and going.
It’s a beautiful old building, so much more character than a hotel room half the size, so just maybe consider earplugs if you’re a light sleeper … the bed is SO comfortable by the way!
I was staying a couple of nights with my nephew on a last minute weekend away. The bathroom is lovely, and the glass door and side windows give you a lot of light if you’re a couple, but we were grateful for a double sheet from housekeeping to hang over the door for privacy for both of us!
The previous guests had obviously enjoyed a herbal ciggie or two … we let the hosts know just so we didn’t get the blame, but with the lovely big windows, the smell had cleared by the time we got back from a few beers.
- Maia (1/5): false advertisement, barely 2 stars service. Dirty, property owners ignores you during the stay - Spacious room in amazing location if you want to be close to the nightlife. > Dust everywhere in the room. Our clothes became covered in dust when placed on one of the pieces of furniture (see attached photo). Anyone with a dust allergy would struggle to breathe in this environment.
> There was no way to contact the owners for any reason. In case of an emergency, they did not answer the phone.
> When I booked, I was charged the full amount. A few days later, I received an email stating that my booking would be cancelled due to a “problem with the payment.” This appeared to be a possible scam attempt, but fortunately Booking.com helped resolve the issue. However, I am still awaiting an invoice for the amount paid.
>This is clearly not a five-star premises. Guests are misled into expecting a luxury stay; however, it is evident that the owners have a very different understanding of what “luxury” means. Dusty, poorly maintained furniture does not reflect a high-end or premium standard in any way.
- Sean (10/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): Amazing suite in Temple Bar - Fab location in the heart of Temple Bar. My suite was on the top floor. The bed was really comfortable. Everything was super clean. Easy to check in with the instructions provided. And the hosts are just a message away if needed. I would certainly stay here again.
- Jessica (10/5): -
- Kiera (9/5): Would definitely stay again and recommend to others - Great location and a nice clean room! Nice touch with a stocked up fridge filled with cold beverages and a coffee machine on the side. Room was clean and large with comfortable bed. Music that sounded like it was next door until 1am however it didn’t bother us too much and was expected in that area just a heads up for people who want a quiet one may be worth looking outside temple bar area.
- Wayne (10/5): - No problems. Check in was straight forward and the location was great
- Guest (10/5): -
- Mia (10/5): - Absolutely lovely stay will definitely return ! Such a secure building in the center of Dublin close to everything. Beautiful room with everything you need inside.
- andrew (5/5): Room is as lovely as it looks in the photos. But it’s not a hotel and the self check in and stairs are difficult - Room was lovely. Location perfect to shops and restaurants. Check in and stairs unexpectedly challenging. We were presented this room when filtering for a “Hotel”. It is not a hotel. There is no reception or staff to help. It is a self check in affair with 3 different coded door mechanisms. The one on the front door was not obvious to us how to do it. When we called for help we got a voice mail system. We clicked the Merchant House option too be told it is not a valid option, when we clicked the bookings option it rang out unanswered repeatedly. Eventually, soaked from 15 mins in the cold and rain, got in only to be faced with 8 narrow and steep flights of stairs to drag our bags up. We are not young. This was very challenging. There was no warning of any of that during the booking. We were expecting a hotel with reception and lift.
- Sean (10/5): Very pleasant, clean and comfortable room in an excellent location surrounded by pubs and cafes - Location was excellent for the pubs and nightlife of Temple Bar and convenient for buses to other parts of the city. The room was very spacious, warm and very comfortable. There is a very spacious shower room and all aspects of the room were very clean and tidy. The room was tidied daily with refreshed towels and a made bed to come back to. There is a TV and free WiFi. There is a tea and coffee making station in the room as well as a small fridge and mini bar. We couldn't fault it -
- Peter (8/5): -
- Graham (8/5): Good -
- Ger (8/5): - Location Heating
- sheena (1/5): - Nothing The cheek of them to take extra 200 from my account when I checked out2
- Ruben (9/5): -
- Bienvenu (9/5): - The place, location, amenities, everything you need is there only is missing access to staff or communication to ask questions. The main entrance access which was at first tricky. Beyond written instructions make a video and explain how it works. 2 people at the entrance were puzzled how to access the pad and type properly the code and I saw these two people being furious. For me it was great but understand the frustration.
- eduardo (6/5): -
- Sophie (8/5): great - close to 3 olympia where l was going
was quiet except the temple bar is close and you could here the music
no staff was like a b and b listed as a hotel there was no staff in case we had any questions
the bed wasn’t a king even though that’s what i paid for but it’s ok cause it was still cheap for dublin
- Rene (9/5): Fantastische ligging en comfort! - Mooi centraal gelegen in Temple Bar
- Rob (10/5): Great stay at Merchant House - Entry and check in instructions were concise, timely and the process was easy.
Early check in and late check out request was granted.
Location in the heart of Temple Bar was perfect.
Great rooms and facilities.
We will definitely stay again when we visit Dublin next year. Nothing
- liam elon (7/5): -
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Onnee (10/5): - In the middle of town and easy with the self check in, room had everything you need and more. Bed very comfy Decor maybe dated and room felt a bit cluttered
- christopher (8/5): -
- Izzy (9/5): -
- john grehan (9/5): Great location and stylish accommodation but information or assistance poor (apart from Rachel) - It is just accommodation The self check in was not as easy as expected and no communication to help
Major stain on the carpet
