- Valentin (10/5): Excellent for the money -
- Icethea (8/5): Comfy room - The bad was comfy, it was all clean and nicely made in wood. The bathroom was a little small. The stuff is not good in English but we managed.
- Simone (8/5): very beautiful and quiet place, classic Tyrolean landscape. true relax -
- Iván (9/5): Superb - Nice room and the breakfast was great.
- Neil (9/5): Comfortable Gasthof and Linz a nice place to visit. - Comfortable room and very good breakfast. Easy parking and good access to motorway.
Linz centre is attractive and castle museum very good. 30 min walk into centre along busy riverside road. Gasthof doesn't do evening meals and nowhere obvious nearby -suggest you eat in Linz centre.
- Linda (8/5): A very comfortable accommodation. - The rooms were very clean, there was a good choice of food for breakfast which was included in the tariff. A handy bus into town, I would recommend Gasthof Rothmayr to all travellers. No complaints at all
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Sanyi (8/5): The hotel faces the river and the road in front is a busy one, good lockable garage for bicycles. - Bőséges, finom reggeli., Nice view of the Danube from the room. Good lockable garage for bicycles with bettery charging option. Very noisy due to nearby car traffic.
- Bott (7/5): Good -
- Wayne (7/5): Good -
- Mykhailo (7/5): Good -
- Tom (7/5): Comfortable stay, great breakfast - Fantastic breakfast, big comfortable rooms, safe bike storage and quiet stay. A bit out from town centre and at the time of stay road works made it slightly tricky to cycle to the hotel from the centre.
- L (8/5): Very good - Good location, ease of access with parking. Close to Danube.
- Sunny (7/5): Good -
- Michael (10/5): Thank you for your hospitality and a wonderful stay on my way to the Black Sea!🙏😇 -
- Arina (9/5): A solution if you find nothing else closer to town - Comfortable beds; breakfast was budget, but nice.
The restaurant looked nice, but it was closed when we arrived (around 5 p.m.), so we had to go to town despite all the tiredness. Location - right on a very circulated road; the only way to actually get in town is by taxi.
Very noisy in early morning.
No air conditioning. Awfully hot until it finally rained a little bit.
Fake flowers :)) - but these seem to be pretty much everywhere in Austria, coexisting with the wonderful natural ones.
- Jonisumo (9/5): Superb -
- Goran (10/5): Excellent - We stayed one night because of visiting the festival.
The guest house is nicely decorated; the owner is extremely friendly.
The guest house also has its own parking lot.
There is a bus stop in the immediate vicinity, which is an excellent starting point for exploring the city.
The rooms are spacious and clean.
A rich breakfast was also included in the price.
Definitely recommend!
- Pavla (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ramin (6/5): Pleasant -
- Milan (8/5): Very good - Fair price for the accomodation. Area is a bit outside of the city. Not a big problem, but a 2 km walk.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Dovix (9/5): Good value for money - Large and clean rooms, good location, on the bank of the river, not far from the city center, fabulous breakfast. Difficult communication with the host, he only knows how to speak German
- Sylvia (9/5): With Danube under the window - Nice small Gasthof next to Danube river. Breakfast was very good, and the owner of the hotel was friendly and supportive. Access to the city's center is also possible by foot (the pavement goes all the way to the city center - approximately 25 minutes of walking). For a short stay, it is a good choice.
- Andrei (8/5): Very good - The hotel is great, the rooms are clean! Breakfast was good!
The hotel is next to a roadway, so it's wise to bring earplugs for sleeping. The staff didn't speak English. However, this wasn't a big problem. Everyone was very careful to explain and help in simple words. Only positive emotions were left!
- Cheng (7/5): Comfortable - Delicious breakfast
Friendly staff
Peaceful environment No washing machine
- Nina (7/5): Ok for one night - Breakfast was nice
Free parking
Clean The location. Too far from the city centre
- Eleuterio (7/5): Good -
- Tanya (8/5): Clean Family run. Great for kids. - The breakfast was nice and I appreciated how they provided a tea kettle after I requested it. This was a very nice family run homey place-felt like I was visiting grandmas. Near a forest for hiking. It was a bit noisy with the construction nearby (they couldn’t help that) and the road noise. Also- the radio at breakfast was kind of annoying and busy, maybe play wordless music or something quieter? I liked the family feel but the decor in the hallways was a bit dated (tho rooms were clean and modern).
- Fred (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (9/5): Friendly gasthaus in Linz - Lovely room, good shower and bathroom. Friendly host and family. Good bike locked garage. Delicious breakfast. All great
- Szilvia (10/5): We'll definitely return, it was a pleasant stay. - Big room, big bathroom, very clean and breakfast was super tasty and plenty of options for vegetarian and non-vegetarian, lactose intorelant and allergic people. Plenty of fruits, veggies, musli, different kind of meat and cheese options, juices. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Big parking also available for cars and easy to find and easy to get to the city with the car.
- Cesar (7/5): Good -
- Pod1236 (9/5): Superb - Nice building, comfortable room. Tastefully decorated. Good breakfast. Bicycle storage room. According to booking, the restaurant should have been open. It was not due to holidays.
The hotel is directly on the road 2 km outside Linz. Not ideal to ride to/from but ok solong it is not dark.
- Simon (7/5): Good -
- Hsinyi (10/5): Exceptional - The staffs there were very nice. Even though some of them only speak German, they still were so kind to help me solve all my questions.
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - Owner was very friendly. Bathroom wasn't very clean - lots of hair in plughole blocking the shower.
Carpets a bit dirty + old, thin towels.
- Alena (8/5): Lovely at the river! - Good Parking, 5 minutes away from shop Quite far away from centre but still managable with a car If you get a Parking place
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Raluca (9/5): Superb -
- Gudrun (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (7/5): Cheap and cheerful accommodation within walking distance of the city - Clean, traditional It was ruhetag so we had to walk 2 miles for a beer after a very long drive from England. Also the road outside was noisy from 5am
- Dan-alexandru (10/5): Great - Nice hosts
- David (7/5): Good - Breakfast was nice. Restaurant was unavailable
- Lubomír (9/5): Superb - excellent location nearby Donau
very good restaurant
nearby shop
included balcony in rooms
- Timothy (9/5): Superb - Unpretentious small hotel run by older couple. Very obliging. Whilst it is outside Linz, it is only a 10-minute cycle ride to the main square. Nothing
- Olivier (7/5): Good -
- Yue (10/5): very cheap and good hotel, - breakfast is nice! room is clean, and there is free parking just outside hotel. In such a price, can not expect more. the room inside looks all new. there seems no water cattle inside the room or I did not find it?
And hotel boss is an very old gramma which tried her best to speak English to me and very helpful! Quite touching because she is really old and not convinent to work. Good luck to her!
- Dietmar (8/5): Very good -
- Shubhangee (7/5): Good - The Breakfast was good and the location was comfortable
- Jane (8/5): I'm happy to recommend this - Very clean. Helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Close to the old city but not actually in town. Secure bicycle parking. Quiet.
- Tommi (9/5): Superb -
- Alexey (7/5): Good stay in the guesthouse with history. - I was there at the beginning of April 2023.
The host was polite, welcoming, but didn't speak English. But she anyways described me everything!
The room was spacious, the view from window was average.
The parking is near road on the private territory in front of the guesthouse.
The included breakfast was good, there was something to choose from. It was a good stay. Below are small nuances, which are not so crucial.
This place is located 2km away from the city, so all the restaurants and bars are not that near.
Some sockets near the bed didn't provide enough current to charge the phone.
- Boris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Traditional service with a smile. - Friendly, homely, traditional. Eat in the restaurant if possible delicious traditional dishes.
- Tamás (7/5): Good - We stopped for one night in Linz, we choose this hotel as it was close to the city by car. Clean and tidy room, enough for a one night stay, good breakfast. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. I never stayed in a hotel where room cleaning started before (on time) checkout. Apart from this everything was positive.
- Agostina (2/5): Definitely a no-go - They did not comply with the payment terms they promised and Booking did nothing about it. I could not even have a quiet breakfast because they interrupted me talking in the middle of the breakfast room, in front of other guests that they did as it was easier for them.
The hotel was good value for money. But I would never go back. A trip that was for pleasure was overshadowed by this situation.
- Arturs (9/5): Superb -
- Amir (10/5): Exceptional - I really don’t understand why this place has only 2 stars? It deserves more definitely! Location is 15min walk away from the city center
- Lacabg (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts are pleasant, bed and pillows are great for sleeping, breakfast is ok.
- Cristiandodea (9/5): Superb -
- Lilla (10/5): Excellent value for money - staff is very kind, location is great, accessible both by car and public transport. - The hotel is located two bus stops from the main square (Hauptstraße). The staff is very kind, always helpful. Based on the pictures I expected the rooms to be more old fashioned but the place has a very cozy vibe. I'd be more than happy to stay here again - and to visit Linz again! One day, on Sunday, we felt a strong smell of onion throughout the whole morning coming up from the kitchen :)
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): An old Guest House on the famous river, quiet and relaxing, between river and cliffs. - The Gasthof is in a quiet location, a few kilometers from the City Center. It is right on the river, and parking is easy. The house is old, but well-kept. The room was quiet, the view of the river is nice. The staff was pleasant and the restaurant is very nice. The location on the river, between the river and the cliffs, meant that there were only two options for getting to the hotel, both options were along the river road, which tends to be very busy in the morning and afternoon. Add to that the construction on the roads, and the time to the hotel was doubled.
- Lilla (9/5): Great place to stay in Linz - Really nice lady, helpful, they clean your room out every day, which was really nice. Breakfast included and it's a friendly restaurant space with typical breakfast items, I was very satisfied with that. Could not really ask for more in terms of staff and facilities. Free parking, TV, private bathroom. Everything that I could want. The only downside was the location, which was not all too far away from the main city (you can walk there in about 20 minutes maybe?), but still, not a central place. Maybe this is a good thing though, because it was very quiet.
- Gerald (8/5): good value for the money - good value for the money restaurant was not open on the weekend
- Kirsten (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sukhjit (8/5): nice quiet place - clean away from crowds
- Virag (8/5): Very good - Great value for money, it was clean. 20 mins walk to centre. Nothing
- Ivana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Filip (9/5): Friendly guesthouse in Linz - The location is a bit further from the city centre, however, the place is quiet and very comfortable. If you have a car, it is five minutes driving to the city centre. The staff is very helpful and breakfast (buffet) is delicious. Everything was as expected.
- Mathilde (7/5): Simple and nice overnight stay with free parking - Very friendly staff. The person that welcomed us didn’t speak english but we could understand each other :)
Good breakfast. Clean and spacious room. Free parking.
25 mins walk straight along the water to the center area.
We stayed 1 night. We could hear people on the hallway (not the cars from the street).
- Dragos (8/5): Very good - no eggs at the breakfast
- David (7/5): On the Danube just outside of Linz city limits - We chose this small hotel for its easy access to Linz and parking. It is used by bikers and hikers. Breakfast is good. The hotel faces the river and the road in front is a busy one. This makes it tricky to get in and out and is very noisy. We stayed in late August and the price was quite expensive for what it is.
- Cristinel (10/5): Nice stay in Linz - Location, cleaning, free parking, distance to old town center, room size, Restaurant and beautiful terrace, garden temporary closed.
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional - Traditional Austrian room, very clean with a large bathroom. The staff were very friendly. For us the location was perfect as we didn't want to drive through the centre of the city.
- Cornelia (6/5): ok for the price - good connection to city via bus, very good food/restaurant noisy since directly at a street - unfortunately my room was towards street
- Julia (10/5): it’s the best! the price is low for no reason. it’s worth more! - The Staff is just wonderful — nice and thoughtful. The chef was kind to make my best salad in the world, and Anita at the reception was very kind :).
I don’t really understand why that was the cheapest hotel in a 70 km radius.
this hotel is more a boutique hotel, than a 2-star hotel.
Much recommended!
- Gordon (7/5): comfortable - convenient and with good facilities and breakfast staff were not bilingual as stated and we had difficulties with communication. also paid local tax twice as paid online and in cash.
