Guest Reviews
- Elena (8/5): Quiet hostel/homestay, with a decent room and good views of the pyramids. - The view of the pyramids from the terrace
- Ioanna (10/5): - We had a very good stay! We loved everything. The host is very nice and lovely. We would stay here again!
- Brandon (2/5): the property manager was an unwanted roommate. He did not act neighborly in a kosher/ halal way. - the owner coincidentally walked into my room as I was getting out of the shower but was otherwise rather unreachable when I needed help finding the very difficult to find property. All of his neighbors seemed to not know where the Capo Pyramid Hotel was. He also was very reluctant to share the internet password even though wifi was listed as an available amenity on the booking.com listing. He called the police on me and tried having me arrested for watching the new Hellboy movie on Amazon Prime video. My decibels were within the legal Egyptian limit for being indoors in my own room.
- Brandon (1/5): Never again. - Proximity to the Pyramids. Host / Manager was spying on me naked and being really weird (creepy).
Super recomendable. Fue perfecto
- Bonface (10/5): It’s a place I will recommend to anyone - Super clean and the owner was kind and helpful
- Lorenzo (10/5): Host da 10 e lode - Vista piramidi fantastica. Consigli e disponibilità del host, persona stupenda.
- saahil (8/5): - Owner is really kind and honest and never tries to sell you any tours as we commonly see in cairo.
Also offered me some snacks on arrival which was a very nice gesture, also pyramid views were amazing.
Free drinking water is available too.
Ok for the price or few nights stay not longer. Once u step out there are some ferocious street dogs and they block your way, place itself was safe but very dark at night when you walk back to this place, and place is full of animals from the pyramids so you can expect dust and litter everywhere once outside.
If you have big bags it takes a lot to climb up to 3 floors as this place dosen't have any lift.
- Leire (10/5): -
- Gabriele (9/5): - Amazing view, staff available, super clean, recently renovated room with all services and comfort Bit isolated location
Rien
- YIXIN (9/5): -
- Vadim (10/5): - TOP CHOICE!!
- Viktoria (10/5): Magical - My stay at Capo Pyramid exceeded my expectations!
The owner of the place is a gem! Very helpful, kind and most importantly very honest! Egypt is not always easy to navigate and knowing him is a true blessing! He has helped me in many different ways as I am solo female traveller and fully trusted him! The room was one of the cleaniest rooms I have ever stayed at and I have been a nomad for the passed 5years! The location is exceptionnal! Everything about my stay has been truly wonderful! I hope I come back soon and stay here again! Everything perfect
- WEN YU (10/5): - The host is really nice. There is no elevator, and the room is on the rooftop. He helped me carry my big bag to the room. The room and bathroom are clean, and the host cleans them every day. He takes great care of the room. The shower has nice hot water. There is also a refrigerator, along with free tea and coffee. The host even provided some snacks and Coke for me. I can see the Giza Pyramid outside the room, which is amazing. It’s just a five-minute walk to the pyramid. Even though my friend had already checked out, he still let her take a shower and rest in the room. The host is really thoughtful.
- Sunil Kumar (10/5): The best Stay in whole of Egypt - Everything. The host the property the beds the terrace view . The host is like a family to us . Even after 30 days of the stay i recalled his hospitality to the best. The ac didn’t work in day time , may be because of too high temperature outside.
- Wing Yan (8/5): Nice homestay - Owner Kareem is incredibly kind and helpful, offering even the smallest assistance and excellent travel advice. The place feels like home; it's very clean. You can see the pyramids, and the ticket office is only a 5-minute walk away. Restaurants and shops are also easily found nearby. If you're taking a taxi, the owner can help guide the driver. There are many camels, horses, yaks, and sheep in the surrounding area, so if you like animals, there's absolutely no problem.
- Fumiya (10/5): -
- David Nageh (9/5): -
- Oliver (10/5): 10/10! Lovely stay, no problems - Amazing view of pyramids, great host and soft bed
- Kowalski (10/5): -
- Peggy (10/5): Perfect three-day visit to see all major nearby sites. Will stay again on return to Giza. - Best place to stay in Giza! Exceptional host, every possible comfort, short walk to Sphinx Gate. Spend a few pounds more and go for the balcony room, with stunning pyramids view!
- Alghawanmeh (10/5): - The host was amazing Best view ever
- ANSARI GARCIA (10/5): -
- Magdy (10/5): Exceptional - Very kind and helpful owner, comfortable and clean place, great view directly to the pyramids The room need some cooking gadgets
- Agnieszka (10/5): Brilliant place to stay in Giza. PERFETTO ❤️ - EVERYTHING!!! Great localization, fantastic nice Owner, clean, comfortable. Everything here was THE BEST. Highest Level There is no such things
- Brenda (10/5): Amazing experience and amazing host! - The room is amazing, everything looks brand new, clean and comfortable. The shower is great, the bathtub size is also great. Staff amazing! Sooo helpful. I was a bit lost when I arrived and he helped me, carried my luggage and was always happy to answer any messages. Nothing to complain!! The ONLY thing that wasn't 5 stars it's the location. It's quite hidden in the end of a road with many camels/horses and the drivers were getting lost in the way everytime I was going outside. But once you know where you are/where you are going to, it gets easier - but still not convinient.
- Clayton (10/5): A breathtaking, heartfelt stay with world-class hospitality and views I’ll never forget. - Everything
- Myrto (9/5): Amazing - Kareem is the sweetest. We are very satisfied by our stay. The view from the room is amazing!!! And only 10min walk from the pyramids location. The water in the bathtub was hot and then cold and then very cold. That was the only disadvantage.
- Ben (10/5): Best bang for your pound! - You just can't beat being that close to the pyramids for the price. The host, Karim, was exceptionally hospitable. Even helped show me how to tie a headscarf. Pretty small and location was tricky, even for local taxis.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vasile (9/5): Nice host and very welcoming - The host is a nice man and helpful. He always asks if you need anything and if everything is ok. When I arrived from the airport and was tired, he welcomed me with a cold and refreshing drink. The price is very good for what you're getting, a clean room and a shared bathroom, tea and coffee replenished every day. The location is close to the entrance to the pyramids site but outside there are a lot of horses and camels and therefore it smells. You can get Uber and I had no problems getting Uber from this location.
- Gonzalo (4/5): Disappointing - Clean room The neighbour was horrible, believe me
- Quentin (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome stay, with stunning Vue and amazing owner, would recommand to anyone
- India (3/5): I do not recommend this hotel at all. Except for this one staff and the view but that's not enough. - I liked the room design, it was fairly modern. It was clean, the bed was comfortable. The heater worked. The mini fridge worked. The staff was kind and gentlemanly. The nice view. Due to our plane being delayed, we missed our connecting flight to Cairo, we warned the hotel owner immediately that we would not be able to make it for the night and would come the next day as follows. We had been traveling the whole day, and our Uber to the hotel tried to scam us for 500 EGP when we already paid on the Uber app. Then all we wanted to do was wash off and go to sleep because by the time we got to the hotel, it was 1 AM. But no, instead we were met with a sketchy, run-down area where no women were near. It was unsafe, stinky, and dirty. It's where the horses and camels are housed for tourists to take them to the pyramids since they're right next door. Every day we had to dodge poop and dodgy individuals who stared at us, on the way to our room and back. Let's forget they abuse these poor creatures and have them malnourished, neglected, and whipped. We had to climb stairs that looked like they were about to fall apart. We were on the last floor of course and of course, no elevator. We finally settled in the room and were about to eat dinner after not eating since 2 PM. When he suddenly barged in and demanded we pay for the night we didn't sleep here. Even though we warned him that we wouldn't be able to come because of unfortunate circumstances. He wanted us to pay 70$ when my friend who stayed there paid 10$ a night... Yeah ok, buddy. We tried to reason with him but he barely spoke English and was very cavalier about our feelings. He wasn't being reasonable and we even tried to pay his half for what he wanted to settle this dispute. I have this feeling that he only treated us like this because we are women and according to the Quran therefore inferior and not as smart as men... yea ok.
- Mjkooter (10/5): Exceptional - While the location was a little hard to find, it's completely worth it once you see the view. Truly spectacular view of the pyramids. For the price and location I can't complain. You're not staying at a 5 star hotel, however, Karim's hospitality makes up for it.
- Ching (10/5): Exceptional - Great location if you are visiting the giza pyramids. Lots of horses and camels live in the adjacent area so you can see their life. The owner Karim is very attentive and friendly. The room and toilet are very clean. nothing
- Lluís (10/5): Great views and perfect owner - The terrace to see the pyramids and having a room for yourself for so good price Nothing
- Darkopolooo (10/5): Exceptional - Cool location and the best host at the Cair! Thanks for all.
- Christoph (10/5): Lovely place - Feeling at home. I'll be back. The host is lovely and the quality of this establishment is excellent.
- Rodney (10/5): Amazing view and time and people! - Best place I love it
- Anastasia (10/5): Amazing location, view and experience. - Location is superb. View of the pyramids, on a local street, horses and camels. Traditional stay. Don’t need much more room, the outdoor area is spacious to relax in. Drinking Water is provided and fridge to keep fruit cool. To find the apartment, walk up the little alley way according to Google maps. Top floor of the building. Extremely Safe area with friendly locals
- Seongmin (10/5): The best - House owner was really friendly and kind i really appreciated everything he does for his acco
I wish i could stay longer. Room was really clean with cheap price you can see pyramid from acco.
- Katharine (10/5): Clean, comfortable. Amazing view - This clean, modern guesthouse is on the top floor of a residential building. It is in a safe local area just 6 minutes walk from the Giza pyramid entrance. All the horses and camels that give rides to tourists live in the street overnight, so yes you will see animals and animal shit. But there is no animal noise or smell in the apartment 4 floors up. I would ask those previous reviewers that complained about this: Why did you come to Egypt?
The owner, Karim, is quiet and thoughtful. He keeps himself to himself, but will help you out when you ask. There is a kettle/tea/coffee in the room, and a fridge and water cooler in the communal area. The water cooler was a really nice touch, and saves you carrying endless bottles of water up the stairs. A mix of touristy and local restaurants within easy walking distance.
But best of all: THE VIEW OF THE PYRAMIDS FROM THE BALCONY, including the free viewing of the Sound and Light show Wednesday to Sunday (a little underwhelming - don't pay to see it).
We actually stayed here 3 nights. It was cheaper and more peaceful to stay here than in central Cairo. Uber from here to central Cairo was only $2 each way, so you can do a day of city sightseeing and come back and sleep looking at the pyramids. Wow! We will definitely be back. The place is tricky to find, but Karim will come out into the street to meet you. There is no breakfast, but you can buy simple breakfast items and keep them in the fridge.
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautiful stay. Peaceful and serene. Very clean apartment and Karim was always there to help. Thank you for being such a - Peaceful, clean, great view of the pyramids! WiFi a bit unstable. But that seems to be normal in Egypt ✌️
- Vanessa (10/5): Beautiful, peaceful surroundings with the most beautiful view of the pyramids. Karim is an amazing host. Very friendly, - Clean, quiet, great view of the pyramids! For digital nomads the WiFi is a bit too unstable, but u I experienced this in a lot of places in Egypt…so no one to blame 🫶
- Nishida (9/5): Superb - The location is so good. I could walk to Entrance of Pyramid in 10 min on foot, and the view is very nice. I couldn't get there soon. I needed to enter narrow road and finally I could find it thank for owner of hote.
- Sarah (10/5): Lovely stay, clean and super helpful owner. - It was quite hard to gauge where we should stay when we were looking online but so glad we booked here. The owner was really nice and super helpful, he was happy for you to call/text about anything that you might need. He waited up for us as we were late to the airport and missed check in. The bed was clean (no bed bugs) and there was fresh water available and it was a short walk to the pyramid ticket office. I’m glad we chose to stay here. The only few issues were the internet wasn’t great but I think that’s probably an area thing not their fault and just as a warning, the address on booking.com is correct but if you open it in google maps through booking.com it shows another address which is in Cairo not Giza. I’ve attached a photo, just adding this in the hope no one else makes this mistake!
- Dejwit (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice and helpful owner and amazing view from terrace
- Kaj (10/5): Exceptional - A quiet place with an amazing terrace in the chaos of Giza. Definitely recommend if you want to stay near the pyramids. Owner Karim is super friendly and will help with anything!
- Andreonidas (10/5): Exceptional - First of all the owner, Karim, is very helpful and kind. Also the terrace and the view is awesome for this price. Everything was super clean, free drinking water, tee/coffee/shampoo delivered every day😁 Best place to stay in Giza. -
- Felix (9/5): Superb - Great owner, very caring and the room and facilities were clean and good! Recommended!
- Katja (10/5): Amazing stay with sphinx and pyramids view - It was in a very good place- nearby the pyramids, the view was amazing, even at night. The owner was friendly, cared about our arrival and departure. We got welcome drinks and felt welcomed, too. He provided us with great hospitality and service. Nothing :)
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Another great stay! Thanks again!
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Karim is a great host. This was my first stop in Egypt, and I'm thankful that I chose the Capo Pyramid. Karim takes care of any worry you might have with his extensive knowledge. The location is one of the best that you will come by. And for the price, you can't beat it. I will be coming back to Giza at the end of my trip, and I will be staying here again.
- Rocco (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (8/5): Very good - Amazing location. Basic but everything you need. Very friendly and welcoming host. You get to see a slice of real life in Giza by staying here and it's not for the faint hearted You really get to see how the poor animals are mistreated and malnourished so that tourists get to ride around the pyramids on them. Very sad to see.
- Ana (9/5): Great stay - Karim is very welcoming and will help with any of your needs. The rooms are cozy and with just the right amenities. The view of the pyramids is amazing and perfect to enjoy dinner while watching the light show. My only recommendation is to visit the Giza complex without booking a tour. Being so close is not worth to pay a tour when you can enjoy it much cheaper on your own. But we have absolutely nothing negative to say about Capo Pyramid guest houses
- Andrew (10/5): Excellent! - The hostile was very helpful and accommodating!! The view of the pyramids was awesome! The room was nice and clean along with the bathroom! Great place, would stay again! Had a little difficulty finding the place at first. But the host responded to my messages quickly and was able to help me out!
- Alok (10/5): Exceptional - You can see the Pyramids from roof top. Just that it can be difficult to located this hotel since there is no sign board. It is an affordable accommodation and I would definitely stay there again. I was happy for what I paid.
- Willhem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Higa (10/5): Exceptional - clean room!
nice host!
- Estifanos (10/5): Exceptional - A nice place to spend your vacation. Vey close to the pyramids. Very neat. Very friendly host.
- Sam (5/5): Good but room for improvement - Free water
Friendly staff
Good location
Clean
Comfortable bed No pyramid view from bedroom
Wi-Fi not always working
Hard to find on google maps
No sign /name on building
No reception /checkin room
- Akil (9/5): Great location, wonderful host, excellent property, highly recommended - 1. Excellent Location, 5 to 7min walk from Pyramid ticket entrance and similar distance to super market, stores, fruit stall etc
2. Very friendly and warm host.. Extremely caring about the guests and very helpful with anything you ask. Karim speaks English so no issue with communication at all :)
3. Beautiful cosy room with all amenities like towel, tea coffee, kettle, fridge, water etc
4. Shared bathroom but very neat n clean with hot water
5. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to stay in Giza 1. Wifi is a little disappointing as I could not connect at all. Thankfully my 4G sim came to the rescue during my stay. Wasn't a showstopper but would be nice to have a good connection
2. Place can be a little hard to find as there is no name board anywhere but Kareem is always available on whatsapp to guide you
3. Giza itself is pretty far from Cairo. So unless u want to stay close to Pyramids there is nothing else which might be of interest. Ideally 2 nights is more than sufficient..
- Saehaneul (10/5): Exceptional - Karim and his cousin are a wonderful host who will go above and beyond to make your stay in Cairo an excellent one. The location of the hotel is fantastic, with the view of the Giza pyramids right on your porch. The rooms and other amenities are excellent, highly recommended to stay here during your visit to Cairo
- Abanob (10/5): Amazing🤩 - Very clean room and bathroom very nice decoration the welcome drink and chocolate from the best mr . Karim who was very friendly and cooperative . wonferful view of pyramid location excellent i recommend this place to any one ☝️ No thing
- Adriana (10/5): Exceptional - The host was extremely helpful to each question we had. Even helped us with translation and getting the Uber quickly. Thank you so much
- Leonhard (10/5): Exceptional - The place really couldn't be closer to the pyramids. You have an amazing view from the rooftop terrace and we enjoyed sitting here just watching the pyramids. It's also really nice to be able to beat the crowds by being at the entrance gate early in the morning and being able to quickly relax in an air conditioned room afterwards. The owner/host Kareem is super nice and helpful. And they have free cold water which is invaluable in the Egyptian summer heat. Oh and the price is also really good. Everything was fine. Obviously don't expect a 5star luxury resort, but for the price there were more amenities than we expected, even a free sachet of Instant tea and coffee in the morning. I can't complain :)
- Sampda (10/5): Exceptional - Karim is very sweet and helpful, I had the best time and the experience has been authentic. Fully recommend!
- Jumpei (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Karim is really friendly and the place is near the pyramid with a good view Nothing, the stay was perfect
(10/5): Exceptional - owner is Very kind and nice room !
My favorit hostel
- Morris (1/5): Bad -
- James (10/5): Unforgettable experience and fantastic view of pyramids - Host was very accommodating and made us feel at home. Brilliant view and super affordable, would highly recommend!
- Matias (10/5): Karim the best guy in Giza! - Karim is a great guy! He helped us in every single thing and more... he was always willing to help and have a little conversation. We are very happy that we chose his place to stay in Giza. The view from the terrace is perfect, maybe 10 minutes walking to the pyramids. He kindly washed my clothes, no charge. He also brings tea and shampoo every morning. Place always clean and tidy. And more things to add, but I prefer that he surprises you... Two little things to keep in mind, the neighborhood might feel a bit dirty to walk for some people because that street is full of camels and horses for the tours but if you don't mind that, don't worry we walked the streets and we were always safe. Second thing we did a tour with his brother and although he is a nice guy I wouldn't recommend him as a tour guide, the info was quite basic, he repited himself a lot and his English was really hard to understand.
- Pop (10/5): Really nice owner and amazing view. - The owner, Karim is very friendly and helpful, he is very attentive to everything and each small details, for example : he saw we put a tshirt to dry and he put a rack outside, he was always answering the phone to give directions to the uber drivers, every morning he put the coffee, tea and shampoo in the door , he helped us with the bags and when we left he called us to ensure we are fine. All this things made us feel very welcome. The room the bathroom and the commun areas are clean and nice, everything is new and the view from the terrace is absolutely amazing ( you can see the 3 pyramids). It is so nice to stay on the terrace and see the sunset or sunrise. The location is next to the pyramids, just a few minutes walk.Thank you for everything Karim. Nothing.
- Lorena (10/5): Wonderful - Great place to stay, next to pyramids. Very comfortable room and bathroom only shared with other room. The owner Karim is really nice and lives just besides so if you need anything he's just there. He provides you with water, coffee and shampoo. Maybe my only complaint is my room had a window but it could not be opened so room was always dark, but for the rest it's perfect and really cheap :)
- Ongston (10/5): perfect budget stay in Giza! - Karim, the owner is very kind and super helpful. Location is perfect, good view of the pyramid and 10 mins walk to the entrance. Facilities is great, hot and cold water shower and dispenser, AC room. no signage on the guesthouse
- Sarah (7/5): Good - It was clean and free from any insects, Karim is a nice host who enquired about my well-being everyday and even after I left the premises, he took me around the place in the evening to show me where I could get food and supplies. The surrounding area does not really have much options when it comes to food, I visit during Ramadan so no food shops would open before 1-4pm and as a solo female traveller it did not give me a safe feeling to walk when it got dark in the streets, got catcalled by many men.
- Erasmo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sung (9/5): Superb -
- Elisa (10/5): Comfortable room - Perfect place to stay near the pyramid. Beautiful view and beautiful room. Everything is clean and the owner is really helpful. It’s a quiet place even if there is lot of horses on the street. Nothing
- Mostafa (10/5): Comfy with a magnificent view. Great bang for the buck. - Karim, the host, is magnificent and The view is exceptional.
- Stephanie (10/5): brilliant stay, I’d stay there again if I came back and will recommend it to my friends and family - really friendly and attentive owner, super clean, endless supply of tea and shampoo etc, beautiful view of pyramids, safe, excellent location nothing
