• Thierry (10/5): L'impression d'avoir la citadelle pour soi tout seul une fois le soir venu ou au petit matin. - J'ai apprécié l'accueil chaleureux des hôtes autour d'un verre de raki et de confiture maison, le calme de l'emplacement, la nourriture maison (n'hésitez pas à essayer la cuisine de Ninna au déjeuner ou au dîner), la grande salle de bains détachée, la vue sur le mont Tomorr depuis le petit balcon sans vis à vis. Après quelques jours sur place, vous aurez la sensation d'être des invités plus que des clients. Les rideaux ne sont pas assez occultants et laissent passer le jour le matin. Pas de frigo à disposition.

Belle chambre. Salle de bain privée mais séparée de la chambre. Possibilité de se parquer proche de l'endroit mais les hôtes doivent avoir prévenu le arde à l'entrée du château. Petites ruelles qui montent très fort. Waze ne connait pas, imprimer le plan d'accès à l'avance avec Google Map. Les informations d'accès pourraient être un rien plus détaillées.

• Yuri (10/5): Heerlijke plek bij gastvrije familie - Mooie ruime kamer in guesthouse bij enorm gastvrije familie.Mijn vrouw was jarig en ze hebben de kamer gevuld met ballonnen, super lief! Heerlijk ontbijt met uitzicht op de bergen. Midden in het kasteel van Berat met op loopafstand paar lekkere restaurants. Berat centrum ook op loopafstand, 15/20 minuten lopen. Niets! Mooie plek, waar voor je geld,,100% aan te bevelen
• Julia (10/5): Oförglömlig vistelse❤️ - Fantastiskt boende med underbara varma värdar som tog väl hand om oss! Det kändes som att komma hem till nära och kära. Frukosten var utsökt och serverades på terassen med magisk utsikt. Vi hade en oförglömlig vistelse och längtar att få komma tillbaka till den historiska plats och det omtänksamma värdparet. Všichni byli moc milí, a bylo to opravdu jak u babičky na prázdninách :) Přijeli jsme ve 4:30 v noci a nemohli jsme se dovolat na uvedené číslo, které nám poslali i ve zprávách - naštěstí byly odemčeny hlavní dveře a dál jsme se dobouchali na rozespaného pana domácího, který nám ukázal pokoj :D Ráno nám řekl, že už má jiné číslo, tak je jasné, že jsme se dovolat ani nemohli :)) Ale my si díky tomu dali hezkou noční procházku po hradbách!

L’ospitalità è stata davvero speciale, si sono seduti con noi al tavolo a chiacchierare e condividere storie. Il posto è suggestivo e perfetto per vivere l’atmosfera autentica di Berat. Consigliatissimo!

Das Essen ist hausgemacht, aber sehr lecker und preiswert. Die Lage mitten in der Burg Berat ist einmalig, ein Parkplatz steht zur Verfügung - wenn man sich bis hoch traut.

• Jan (10/5): Like coming home - The property is in the middle of the castle, every time you return to the hotel you discover a new part of the castle. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The cook is very good. Breakfast is delicious! You can sit on the terrace to relax after a day of visiting the castle or doing a trip in the canyon. Nothing at all!

Eigenlijk logeer je in een huis (je moet doorheen de keuken om naar het terras te gaan), en dat zorgt voor een heel familiale sfeer. Niets is hen te veel, er wordt vers gekookt indien je dit wenst 's avonds Ik had er in elk geval een fantastisch verblijf!

• Svatoslav (10/5): - Krásné ubytování přímo na hradě. Můžete si připadat jako středověká princezna. I přes svou polohu vlastní parkování pár metrů od dveří. Co je ovšem nejlepší, je zdejší personál. Připadali jsme si jako na rodinné návštěvě u babičky s dědou. Naše Mila si je moc zamilovala a posílá pozdravy. Děkujeme moc za vaši pohostinnost a snad se ještě někdy uvidíme!
• Hector (9/5): - Typique avec des gens adorables. Un très bel emplacement. La chambre est confortable, attention la douche et les toilettes ne sont pas attenantes à la chambre ! Vous pouvez y aller, le petit déjeuner est incroyable!
• Lara (9/5): - De gastvrijheid van de eigenaars is heerlijk. De kamer is misschien wat klein, maar je hebt wel een verblijf binnen de kasteelmuren. Het huis hangt letterlijk aan één van de torens. Goede bedden. Gastvrouw Nina kan erg goed koken!
• Truhlář (10/5): - Příjemné a autentické ubytování v soukromí u místních. Objekt je součástí hradního komplexu, s původními stavebními prvky a osobitou atmosférou. Klimatizovaný pokoj nabízí základní vybavení, koupelna náležící k pokoji je přístupná přes vstupní halu, ale neměli jsme pocit nedostatku soukromí. Domácí snídaně byly vydatné v albánském duchu, navečer lze objednat i jiné pokrmy z menu paní Niny. Hostitelé jsou velmi vřelí a pohostinní, připadali jsme si jako u příbuzných, také domluva a konverzace v angličtině byla naprosto bezproblémová. Parkovat lze po průjezdu hradním areálem cca 50m od samotného domu na vyhrazeném parkovišti. Moc se nám zde líbilo a budeme na Dům Vasili rádi vzpomínat.
• HERVE (7/5): Fait l'affaire pour une nuit - La situation dans le château et le parking à 2 pas de la maison pour se garer. La gentillesse des hôtes. Le raki d'accueil (même si à par 40° ça cogne vite). La clim efficace. Chambre petite, loin des 18 m annoncés sur la fiche (plutôt sous les 10 m). La salle de bain, certes privative mais non attenante à la chambre, il faut traverser la maison pour s'y rendre.
• Helen (10/5): An excellent guesthouse run by very friendly owners - An absolute gem of a place to stay! Right in the heart of the castle. A lovely small family run guesthouse. Quiet and comfortable with great facilities. The bed was super comfy. There’s a lovely terrace with a great view. The owner is a great cook! Breakfast is great and you can also get a tasty dinner at the place if you want too. But what made it most special for us was the owners - Nina, Freddy and Mikel are super friendly and really interesting to talk to. We really enjoyed staying with them and having the opportunity to chat with them.
• Jasmin (8/5): Besondere Unterkunft - Die Lager auf der Burg war besonders sowie die Aussicht von der Terrasse aus, ebenso konnte man dort die albanische Kultur sehr gut Kennenlernen. Die beiden Hosts sind super lieb und freundlich, das Frühstück auch gut! Die Zimmer sind spärlich ausgestattet und sehr eng. Luxus kann man hier nicht erwarten, aber für den Preis auch okay. Um ins Bad zu gelangen, muss man durch den Flur gehen, nicht für jeden optimal und auch die Badewanne als Dusche ist gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Lage auf der Burg ist zwar schön aber für Ausflüge in die Stadt herausfordernd, entweder lange Strecke zu Fuß oder Ausflug mit dem Auto.
• Liesbet (8/5): Prachtige authentieke locatie binnen de kasteelmuren in Berat. - Het authentiek logeren binnen de kasteelmuren is een mooie ervaring. Je verblijft letterlijk bij een gezin dat hier woont. Heel huiselijk en alles voorhanden. Eenvoudig en volledig onderdompeld in de Albanese sfeer. Ontbijt is elke dag anders en heel lekker. De bedden zijn zeer goed. Ik kan eigenlijk niets slecht zeggen. We hebben hier echt genoten!!!

Être immergé dans les traditions de l’Albanie avec à l’arrivée la dégustation d’un raki et d’une confiture de coing maison. La possibilité de manger sur place et de déguster des plats locaux : Byrek, ferges. Le petit déjeuner est monstrueusement copieux et complet. L’emplacement dans la cité et la vue de la terrasse au top !

• Helmut Dimitrije (8/5): A cute and cozy place in a magical surrounding ❤️ - Balcony room: The whole house has lots of character. It felt very cozy and relaxed. There are just 3 guest rooms so it is not too busy with tourists. The setting is wonderful with a nice terrace for breakfast. The view, peace and quiet from my balcony were magical ! The host were lovely , kind and helpful. Balcony room: A very small room. The thin curtains don't block out the light so at 5 a.m. it was bright in the room. The bathroom is one floor down. The bathtub has no shower curtain therefore the floor got wet.

• Edina (10/5): - A vendéglátók nagyon nagyon kedvesek voltak. A kilátás a teraszról gyönyörű. A vacsora izletes volt. Az apartman elhelyezkedése kiváló, ha a várban is szeretnénk szétnézni. A parkolás nehézkes, a várfalon belüli közlekedéshez bátorság kell.
• Jan (10/5): Excellent guest hous located in the castle. Very good breakfast. - GPS parking: 40.707726, 19.945705, Guest house: 40.708214, 19.945658 in a narrow street from the parking lot. By car through the gate of the castle (ignoring the traffic sign), then through the narrow streets, the first Y-junction left, the second right up, to a square where cars could be parked. When we arrived there were still two parking spaces free. In a very narrow street, close to the square, we saw a sign with "Vasili". We walked up the stairs and came to a terrace. We were allowed to walk to another entrance where we could take off our shoes. A staircase took us to our atmospheric room with a bed and a sofa. Downstairs by the stairs were the bathrooms, each room had its own bathroom with shower and toilet. We could go inside to the terrace with a view, where we were given a welcome drink. The more than excellent breakfast was served on this (covered) terrace from 8 a.m. The atmosphere in the Guest House was cozy and the owners were extremely friendly and spoke English. What made this experience even more special was the great location, right in the middle of the castle complex. Payment by cash only.

• JOHN (10/5): Spectacular Scenery From Inside 13th Century Castle at the Wonderful, Family-run Guest House Vasili - This was our second visit to Guest House Vasili; our first was in 2023. We fell in love with Albania and decided, as we were visiting nearby Corfu, to take the opportunity and, once again, visit Berat. We previously had had many wonderful times staying in Guest House Vasili inside the walls of the mainly 13th-century Berat Castle, and the home of Nina, Freddie, Arian and their good friend and neighbour Mikel. Mikel speaks excellent English and is always there to interpret, making communication easy. The family are welcoming, warm, friendly, and always ready to help in any way they can. The house, bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. The views from every aspect are breathtakingly beautiful. It was very hot during this visit but the air-conditioning kept us comfortable and the breeze on the terrace was pleasantly cooling. Breakfast is included and, every morning, Nina provides a feast of fresh fruits, eggs, sausage, bread and salad with cheese on the side, accompanied by a variety of cakes to be washed down with a delicious cup of mountain tea. The view from the breakfast terrace area is also breathtakingly beautiful. Nina provides evening meals, if required. She also teaches groups of tourists traditional Albanian-food cooking lessons. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within the castle walls. The castle was buzzing with visitors during our visit and the villages were displaying their colourful handicrafts, which are available for purchase, along the walls of the cobbled streets. The nearby lookout provides an amazing, elevated view over the town of Berat below and the Osum RIver, which flows through it.

• Robinson (10/5): Wonderful place with wonderful hosts - Such a charming quiet house with amazing hosts. It will be difficult for you to meet nicer people than them. Breakfast is big and tasty, with fruits and homemade products. Room is small (not a problem at all) with a big bed and a balcony. Location is simply perfect, in the middle of Berat castle.

• Peter (7/5): Memorabel eenvoudig verblijf op top locatiekeuze in de oude vesting van Berat. - De locatie midden in de oude vesting vaan Berat is zeer bijzonder. Ook de persoonlijke ontvangst en aandacht van de eigenaar was super. De kamer was klein en vrij spartaans ingericht en de prive douche op de gang bleek nog een trapje lager te liggen. Bovendien was het erg stoffig. Uitzicht van zeer klein balkon was mooi.

• Markéta (10/5): - Ubytování maximálně předčilo naše očekávání. Majitelé jsou velmi milí a vstřícní lidé, přijali nás do svého soukromí a hostili nás jako vlastní rodinu. Parkovat se dá poblíž ubytování, okolí je nádherné. Určitě se rádi vrátíme a všem doporučujeme. opravdu nic - ocenili jsme autenticitu albánského bydlení

• Martha* (10/5): Great experience - Freddie and Nina are exceptional hosts. They are warm, welcoming, and great to talk to, always ensuring we had everything we needed. They cooked dinner for us in the evening (extra charge,but tasty local food) and prepared our breakfast. The view from the terrace is beautiful. The room was clean and spacious enough for four people. The guesthouse is ideally located within the castle walls, just a 5-minute walk to the Red Mosque and other castle attractions. I highly recommend this local experience.
