- Thilo (9/5): An excellent stay - we have already booked two more weekend getaways there! - Very friendly staff, very accommodating. We had also the excellent dinner in the restaurant, with great value for money. The room (Lavender) was very nice, too.

- Simon (10/5): A beautiful and amazing place offering amazing hospitality - A beautiful place - you can tell that it was a Labour of love between an interior designer and an architect. The hospitality was also amazing. We were made very welcome and loved the traditional Cypriot family cooking too. They even catered really well for food intolerances too!

Very comfortable bed and good sized room with lots of extras
included ie shampoo, coffee, fruit and wine.
The food was freshly cooked, very generous quantities and
therefore excellent value for money. Due to the war the hotel was very quiet.

- Siantani (8/5): Nice hotel with very kind staff, but the room cleanliness did not match the high price. - The reception was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lady in the kitchen was especially kind to the children. The traditional breakfast was satisfactory and suited the style of the mountain stone hotel. The room did not fully meet my expectations for the price paid. There was a dead worm in the room, cobwebs on the ceiling, and the double bed had two single blankets instead of one proper double.

- A&Y (10/5): - We stayed at Apokryfo Traditional Guesthouse and had a truly wonderful experience. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed with a lit fireplace and a glass of hot wine — a perfect and comforting start after our journey.
The guesthouse has a small, intimate spa, which was exactly what we needed to relax after a long drive on our flight day. It added a deep sense of calm and care to the stay.
The breakfast was excellent, made with fresh, high-quality local ingredients. It was served as a buffet by the pool, accompanied by the soothing sounds of flowing water and birdsong. Beautiful, unique trees and well-maintained gardens surround the area — beauty and tranquility in every direction. The atmosphere felt truly healing.
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the private balcony was an absolute pleasure — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
We stayed for only one night, but the experience was unforgettable. The village itself is one of the most beautiful in Cyprus, and this guesthouse is simply magical. Tastefully designed, elegant without being overdone, and full of charm. We visited in winter, which made the stay especially peaceful and quiet.
The food was delicious, communication was pleasant and attentive, and walking through the village felt almost legendary.
Wonderful service, warm-hearted staff, and an overall exceptional experience.
We wholeheartedly recommend Apokryfo Traditional Guesthouse.
- ayse esin (8/5): - Very authentic and beautiful magical place.. Very near to town center.. Comfortable bed.. Amazing architecture... Pillows are a little dusty.. Lobby and restaurant with a fire place is great but closed after 10pm... If it was open we can spend some time around the fire place.... Aliittle expensive according to places around..

- Anders (5/5): - Apokryfo, the ”hidden place” in greek, is a perfect name for the hotel.
After a demanding drive (for persons used to drive on the right side) we arrived in the beautiful village of Lofou in the mountains.
The hotel consisting of small buildings and rooms surrounding the beautiful garden and the pool will fill you with tranquility and peace…it is a magic place to just relax.
The pool felt cold, but after using the nice saunas in the spa, the temperature was just fine.
The one set dinner with local food recipes and a well filled wine cellar with local wines is just perfect. We stayed in one of the small houses and will strongly recommend You to do the same!
The area as well as the village was severely hit by a fire this summer, and unfortunately more than 20 buildings in the village were destroyed. Parts of the hotel was also hit by the fire and the on-going construction noice can not be avoided during work days – that is a pity, but will end in the future.
Based on all this, we would give Apokryfo 10 out 10 points, but then there are the cats!
We fully understand that the treatment of pets like cats and dogs in Greece, differ compared to how we treat them in the rest of Europe. Yes, there are cats on the premises and basically the same cats all week long doing no harm. What we can not accept is how they are haunted and chased by the personnel; some cats flieing high up in trees and some poor disabled and starving kittens who can not even run, trying to take cover where ever they can. The two poor severily disabled kittens are doing no harm, just trying their last effort available – begging for some food to survive to the next day.
And please, do not give us the ordinary explanations; ”we have been to the wet” (what You have not) or ”If we feed them, all the cats in the village will come”
Can this be done in a different way?
Yes, only 20 minutes drive to Pissouri Bay and the Columbia Beach resort, show us that they are doing things differently. They are taking care o
- Sascha (10/5): -
- Walter (9/5): -
- Ian (8/5): This place is exceptional. Wonderfully calm and tranquil. The perfect stopping place to recharge your batteries - Such a tranquille place to spend a few nights. It’s clear to see that so much thought and love has been put into the design (interior and exterior) of this stylish place. Above all the staff were wonderful. In particular Joseph was so welcoming and professional. It’s difficult to find any fault, but my only disappointment was that the pool was not heated and very cold so it was not possible to use it (no one swam during our stay)
- Henrik (4/5): Stylish but too expensive given shortfalls - Traditional stylish building. We booked a room for three people. The bed for our son was bery uncomfortable. In addition, what they don’t tell you on Booking.com is that all the surroundings have been destroyed by a fire. The rates are way too expensive for the location.
- Evanthia (10/5): -
- Dino (6/5): A very poor stay - The property itself is beautiful, located in the beautiful little town of Lofou. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. The room was newly renovated, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. We unfortunately had a very poor and extremely frustrating stay at the property. After a below average welcome, we were taken to our room where we immediately noticed that there was significant construction and renovation work going on throughout the hotel. The room door opposite us was being sanded, the balcony adjacent being resurfaced (drilling all day) and the reception being rebuilt after it was burned by a devastating fire which significantly impacted the town and surrounds. I complained immediately and was told that the hotel was very sorry and that the noise would “stop soon”. The next day, the same noise continued the entire day and then, to top things off, I discovered that the downstairs section of the hotel directly below my room had been booked out for a private event that evening which blasted music into our room until after 11PM. Again, when I complained, the hotel staff shrugged their shoulders and carried on. I wrote to management complaining about our experience. I’m yet to hear a response. What frustrates me the most is that the hotel knew about all of this ahead of our check in and decided to say nothing and rather continue to charge us full price as if nothing was going on… Overall, my advice would be to stay elsewhere in town.
- Clonfide (10/5): - Excellent staff. A special thanks to Joseph who was so helpful. Too many cats in the vicinity of the restaurant.
Perhaps cover the breakfast foods on the buffet table.
- Ioannis (10/5): The food was perfect , the staff very friendly and polite. - Very beautiful , clean and with friendly environment
- Anna (9/5): Nice relaxing stay in Lofou - Very beautiful place, excellent food, and wonderful service!
We stayed in the Corner house and it was very quiet and the decoration was really nice.
We would come back with pleasure to stay at Apokryfo in this charming village. Nothing.

- Kelly (7/5): Wouldn’t return or recommend. Booked based on food recommendations and quite frankly the food was awful. Along with a - Very clean, well presented building and rooms. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Food was awful. Booked this property based on all the amazing reviews about food. Definitely not the case. Food was really terrible and basic and really just not special at all. Dinner not great and breakfast could have been massively jazzed up. Stale bread, not much on offer. Food really let this place down.
Room had been painted clearly before arrival resulting in a very strong paint smell and it had not been aired out enough before accomodating guests.
- Brian (8/5): Very good -
- Valeria (8/5): Traditional atmosphere - Located in a very beautiful small village, it is a traditional structure with many nice external spaces (garden, pool). The spa spa is small but nice and you can book massage. The menu of the restaurant was a bit confusing (we were not sure what we were ordering) but at the end it was nice.
- Mert (8/5): One of my favourites - There is nothing much you wouldn't like about this space. The ambiance is very relaxing, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the food is exceptional. It would be nice to have a few more parking spaces but not a major issue. The only two things that annoyed me this year (I visit the place every year) are the lack of maintenance and no management at night.
The shower paint is actually peeling and you can also see the mold under the last coat of the paint. I would not even mention this if this was a budget or even a regular hotel but let's be honest this place is above average.
A group of people suddenly appeared in the pool at midnight, talking and joking loudly, racing with each other in the pool etc. I waited a bit but as nobody interrupted their after party enjoyment I had to go down and warn them. It seems they were celebrating a birthday and decided to crush the swimming pool. So, a management procedure would be nice to keep visitors happy.

- Kieron (9/5): A wonderful stay for just one night. But we will be back to enjoy the hotel again. Great hotel - The hotel was beautiful and set in the village with great views. Enjoyed a dip in the pool and relaxing on sun loungers.
The room was clean, friendly staff & the food was very good. There isn’t anything I didn’t like.
- Lloyd (10/5): The team were so friendly and accommodating. Our room was full of character. The village was very close and the hotel li - Amazing location, rooms and staff.
- Lisa (10/5): Perfection in a rural setting. - It is a creative and beautiful development. Attention to detail is exquisite and in keeping with the traditional ethos of the village. We stayed in the Lavender room and it met our needs perfectly.
The service from the staff was thoughtful and attentive. The cook is a brilliant ‘cook’ and effortlessly delivers traditional Cypriot food, they specialise in a fixed menu that you can dip in and out of. Keeping the menu small you are ensured of fresh produce.
The pool is perfect for cooking off in, the vibe of Apokryfo is laid back with a seemingly effortless service.
Well worth a visit and placed well for exploring both the mountains and the coast. Nothing - it delivered.
- Andreas (9/5): Beautiful stay in the mountain in a very tastefully designed boutique hotel - Very tasteful design and layout. Felt you were in south France . The location was perfect. The village was beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious and had different menu every day with live music for Easter. Staff very accommodating at all times with any issues. Kid friendly
- Iain (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Good value for money - The bed's comfortability, the style, the location, the yogurt, the bottle of wine, the ladies in the kitchen, etc.. In general, we would come back to this hotel. Only that they forgot to split the bed the first night and that we weren't informed the first morning of the possibility to have eggs at breakfast. Also, there was a strong dog smell in the gym.
