Sehr freundliche und herzliche Betreiber. - Beim Eintreffen wurden wir von den Gastgebern noch bekocht und bekamen ein dreigängiges leckeres Abendessen. Das Haus ist sehr ruhig gelegen und wird von den Betreibern liebevoll saniert bzw. ausgebaut. Es war alles sehr sauber. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr gut. Es gab leider nur ein Etagenbad. Die Räume sind sehr hellhörig.
• Roman (9/5): - Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und durften den schönen Garten nutzen, um uns zu entspannen. Es war alles so friedlich, dass uns das dort auch ohne Abzüge gelungen gelungen ist. Abends lud uns der Gastgeber auf einen Raki ein und erzählte von seinen Plänen, den Parkplatz mit Photovoltaik zu überdachen. Wie fortschrittlich und umsichtig! Da wir kein Albanisch sprechen, war die Unterhaltung nur mit Hilfe von Technik und Gesten möglich. Das macht man nur, wenn man sich wirklich interessiert - und das ist hier der Fall.

• Van Neste (7/5): - Een prachtig huis 22 km ten zuiden van Kukës langs de weg naar Peshkopi. De eigenaar was ons niet erg genegen, vooral niet toen we wegens gezondheidsproblemen geen avondeten noch ontbijt wensten. We voelden ons niet erg welkom. De gedeelde badkamer stond constant onder water.

Somehow we had the feeling the hosts friendliness shifted as we mentioned we wouldnt want dinner or breakfast. To the other guests they were super friendly, talked with them, and greeted normally. But we felt a bit ignored and they didnt even answer a good morning. But we didnt know there was food served, and carried lots of food with our bicycles up the hill, it was super hot, so we needed to eat it. It was a bit sad, because the place would be stunning.

Sure, it's somewhere in the middle of nowhere, but it's a beautiful nowhere. Everything was clean, spacious, and the family, they're all lovely people. Even if they don't speak English, they find a way to help you. I had dinner there as well, and the food was good and came in a very large portion. They fed me like I was part of the family. That I didn't stay more than one night. But that's my fault. :)

• Paul (10/5): Wonderful property with great hosts - Great location halfway along the Peshkovic- Kukes road if you were bike packing like us. Wonderful facilities lovely room and bathroom. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Wonderful accommodating hosts. Unfortunately a group of motorcycle tourists had one too many beers and stayed up talking/singing till early morning hours. Not blaming the hosts but maybe some enforcement of reasonsble noise rules if other guests are staying, is warranted?

They’re quick to help with any request and even share delicious homemade food (fresh eggs from their chickens, fruit from their trees, yogur and more!). The house itself is clean, with thoughtful modern touches like reliable Wi-Fi, while keeping its rustic charm. Though spring nights can be chilly, they light a fire in the kitchen, making it the heart of the home, ideal for sipping tea or Turkish coffee together. It’s a peaceful retreat, best suited for couples or families looking for a mix of nature and comfort. Highly recommend!

We were on a bike touring trip and wanted a place to shelter from an oncoming storm. As a result of the storm its difficult to comment on the beauty of the surroundings as all shrouded in cloud and strong winds. Fairly basic rooms with a shared bathroom. Nice dinner prepared by the hostess - who seems to do all of the domestic chores. Even nicer breakfast though which fuelled us nicely for the upcoming day of cycling. Host was a bit disgruntled that we booked through booking.com. Not sure how he came up with the final sum to pay but I think we were slightly overcharged.

• David (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay at Bujtina Gjana. The property is set in a wonderful landscape with a nice garden and the owners went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. Great dinner and breakfast too! Nothing! Everything was perfect.
• Martin (4/5): Come and feel unwelcome - The house looks great from outside, location and the views are nice. Great potential, but unused. Nobody speaks any language but Albanian, except a young lady. Shared bathrooms. The rooms in the attic are much poorer and our felt like oven. The change was strictly refused. Shortly, the place is perhaps OK as a shelter, but there is totally no service, maybe even behavior. We did not feel welcome at all in the end. So disappointing, especially comparing to other places we have been to in Albania.
• Xeozor (10/5): Awesome rural style hostel with private rooms in the mountains of Albania - Truly amazing stand-alone hotel/hostel in the Kukes region near mount Korab and in the mountains. It has multiple private rooms, either twins or doubles, ~4 shared bathrooms and showers, very nice yard and great host! We arrived late in the night at around 2 am, but we were well-welcomed, and actually also decided to stay there for 1 more night, too. They serve breakfast there, the pancakes were great and the prices are very reasonable. The vibe of the rural house is amazing an this is definitely was one of the treats of our trip to Kukes & Korab, much recommended! There's no shops, cafes or any other infrastructure in at least ~15 min driving area, so make sure you have everything that you need with you as it's not possible to get anything once you are there.

• Angel (10/5): This was a beautiful experience! - We were traveling for a while and needed a rest. Bujtina Gjana was a perfect place for us. We we were welcome and had a great time. This place is really nice. It was more like visiting a good friend. Very good breakfast.

The hosts welcomed us at the gate, helped us with everything (sewing accessories, flashlight, etc.), and we got wonderful and traditional food - It was a perfect stay, hopefully soon again The weather ;)

• Andrew (9/5): Great guesthouse surronded by nature - The owner speaks only a little English, but he and his wife are very welcoming. I also had the dinner and the breakfast, all very good and at a fair price. It is a good choice if you travel by car since it has a private parking and the road is all paved.

• Janiel (10/5): PERFECT stay, adorable farm, warm hosts, perfect mountain getaway in a castle like setting! - this property felt like entering a castle and coming home to family. The night we arrived it was pouring rain, they met us, helped us park, provided umbrellas and even gave us little towels to dry off and some slippers. They even made some bread and butter and water to help ease our nerves & felt so bad that all we wanted was bread and butter saying “the table looks so empty!” - the animals were SO ADORABLE & I could have had the white fluffy dog Tiger sleep at the end of my bed. The views are STUNNING and the drive there well worth it! Wish I could have stayed longer! The drive there has some winding roads but other then that it was a PERFECT stay!

• Jul (10/5): An amazing rural Albanian experience - Our stay at Bujtina Gjana was an exceptional and unique experience. We were coming from Kosovo on the way to Tirana and decided to experience rural Albania like the locals. Staying in the middle of the mountains, while enjoying a traditional dinner and breakfast really hit the spot. We were in touch with Jona after our booking confirmation, and as we were coming with public transport she arranged for her dad to come pick us up in Kukës for a reasonable fee. The ride through the mountains was already worth it! Jona's mother prepared us dinner and breakfast, which can be arranged in advance, and this was the perfect opportunity to try some fresh milk from the cow :) Pro tip: if you come early enough, you can apparently hike to a nearby river, about an hour away. We arrived in the evening and it was already dark, but will definitely come back earlier next time. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, everything was working properly (including WiFi and hot water!) Thanks to Jona, Dul and Mine for taking such good care of us, we will see you again! It would be great to have more information before the booking regarding the location and how to get there without private transport: it seems like there is a shared minivan service operating early in the morning and a couple of times during the day, otherwise you will need Jona's father to pick you up. In the end this was all part of the experience for us and we were very happy!
