Guest Reviews
- Dirk (10/5): Perfect! - Excellent place to stay, peacefull, and very relaxing! Too short stay! Next time I will stay some days more!
- Arij (9/5): - Very nice and friendly host, big spacious room In a beautiful house
- Maria (6/5): -

- Mihaela (6/5): I would not go again, ever! - - “Museum” with very old, divers and damaged furniture. Even the smell in the house was like in a museum.
- Marie-Dominique (9/5): Un endroit propre et tranquille tenu par une personne très chaleureuse. - . .
- Anita (10/5): - Very helpful owner, willing to help and make stay enjoyable.

- Scott (10/5): - The hostess was superb. Having to leave
- William (3/5): The advertised room I booked looked great and was well appointed; the room I actually got was not. - The location is conveniently close to the railway station although my work was a little out of town so I did not see a lot of the centre. The host was very charming and offered me a beer on arrival, sitting in her gorgeous garden which she clearly takes a lot of time and trouble to maintain. Arrangements with keys etc. were clear and simple to follow. A number of things caught my eye in the booking details; triple room, large extra long double bed, 40 square meters, tea and coffee maker, private bathroom with bath, TV, a terrace, and a socket near the bed. The room I booked however had been rented out to someone else.
The room I was actually given had literally none of the things listed above, except perhaps the socket by the bed, but to reach it I had to move the bedside table then pull out the entire bed to plug it in, then repeat the whole thing in the morning to get it out again.
My host said that it was unfortunate, but she had more than one room and they were all the same price. Well I for sure would not have booked what I got, which had a shared bathroom, was barely 20 square meters, had an almost impossible to access bedside socket, small double bed, no TV, no tea and coffee making facilities etc. etc.
To be fair I raised the issue as best I could (language barrier prevented us going into all the details) and she offered me a rebate of €10, which was less than I asked for but which I accepted.
I believe the host is knowingly advertising at least two rooms (and possibly three), with the one on Booking.com where I made the booking, much nicer than the one I was offered. To my mind this is not ok, hence the poor rating, and I would not book this again. On the plus side the rates are fairly cheap, so if you don't mind the above, you may still want to consider it. If you're lucky to get the room you actually book, it could be quite nice, but I did notice the person I shared the bathroom with was the occupant of the top room, so it seems there is no private bathroom whichever room you book, unless the other rooms aren't occupied.

Friendly Madame
- Scott (10/5): Excellent host, excellent location exceptional experience. - Irena is an exceptional host. She took time to explain everything to me and explained places to visit around the location. Having to leave.
- Uliana (9/5): Fantastic getaway cozy room with a magnificent garden, and the kindest host - The garden! Amazing space where I was welcomed to rest. Irene as a host was respectful, kind and supportive, conversation had no problem without French. The room was very cozy and had a big table. Comfortable sleep. Bathroom spacious and clean. Friendly neighbours with chickens. I had a great rest!
By the way the room I stayed in was a different one than the photos show, smaller but even prettier, so I was happy. I liked everything! Maybe someone might feel uncomfortable leaving their stuff unlocked, there was even a key, but the door handle needs to be fixed to use it. I felt very safe anyway and could lock from inside. Also I wish I have stayed longer!
- Jakub (10/5): Positively shocked - Place located in the city centrum, really close to train station and 15-30 minutes by train to Bruxelles train station. Woman, who is sharing the rooms is a warmhearted and kind person. Very clean and most importantly, really cozy and calm. Highly recommended place;)
- Alan (8/5): Did the job - Half hour away from Waterloo battlefield site Not so many facilities in the town
- Karl (8/5): Very good - Well maintained
- Deirdre (1/5): Bad -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - The third floor room was very clean and spacious and our host was very kind it was nice to experience living in one of the row houses within Belgium It was a little more expensive to get in and out of downtown Brussels than I thought
- Yange (8/5): Very good -
- Carmelo (8/5): Very good -
- Cristina (10/5): We appreciated very much the host, the cleanliness of the house and especially the garden. - The host was very nice and the property was very clean and tastefully decorated. The garden was very nice and we enjoyed spend some time there. We did not expect to have a shared bathroom, but since we did not cross with other persons, everything was just fine.
- Martina (10/5): Highly recommended - Close to centrum, very lovely and helpful owner Irena, free coffee and tea Tv wasn’t working but it wasn’t a big deal anyway, we haven’t come there to watch the TV
- Sidnei (9/5): Very charming and comfortable place, exactly where we wanted to be. The lady was so friendly and very helpful, I would s - Location, type of property, deco Had to pay extra for using the other existing bed in the room, but the amount was ok. So the total was a bit steep. Another small thing was that even if the name says bed and breakfast that was no breakfast offered/ included. I specifically chose this property for how charming it is instead of a cold hotel but all together , Parking/ additional cost of bed/ no breakfast I think it’s a little pricey. I would still stay again having said all that just because the owner is ever so friendly.
- Gugiuman (10/5): Exceptional - Place its close to all important objectives from Braine l'Alleud (train station, bus station etc)The host Irene is very warm and helped me during the stay there. Very clean and warm during the cold period. Recommend this location.
- Besa (8/5): It was a lovely place overall. We liked the small city and enjoy a few stays in Brussels. - We liked the landlady. She was nice and welcoming. A communicative person indeed. Unfortunately we never received a key for our room, only a key for the main door. IN the back of my mind I was wondering always if somone is going through our stuff while weren't there. Secondly, in the discription it said clearly that there was parking available in front of the house. But we could never find one. SO we had to park further. It wasn't so far from the apartment, but still felt like this could of been known to us before making the booking.
- Tony (1/5): No Private bathroom. - The host was a lovely person. The Bathroom was not on the same floor and was not private as advertised. With no lock on the inside of the bathroom door.
TV in the room was not working.
Parking was only available on the street
With very little spaces as we were on a very narrow residential Street with the residents Parking there own cars. We didn't recognise the property from the photos.
We would not stay there again. The host needs to update the description in full.
I would recommend that you read the description in full and come to your own conclusion.
But be aware.
- Marius (8/5): As. expected - Clean
Nice host
good value of money
- Roni (9/5): Superb - Spacious, comfortable, and suited us to get to Charleroi airport. The owner was very helpful and we received a warmhearted welcome! We added some money to have a very nice breakfast. Thank you very much Irena!!! The owner spoke only French, but we knew it in advance. The restroom is one floor lower then the room at the attic, where you sleep.
- Lonneke (7/5): Good -
- Onur (10/5): Stylish and Silent Loft - Irina is very kind and nice person. We enjoyed her dwelling and our loft room. It is very silent surrounding, perfect to have rest after busy day at the downtown. Train is just 10 minutes by walk and very easy to reach Brussels Center.
- M (10/5): Exceptional - Very close to the train station and commodities.
Nice and communicative
Good price No comment ,all fine
- Ehsan (9/5): Superb -
- Tõugjas-männiste (9/5): Very good area to stay - Very close to the park anf quiet area! All you need to stay over a few days Tv was not working, it didn't bother us, but info for others.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - it was quite charming , and very comfortable .
- Geoff (7/5): Good -
- Jean-eudes (7/5): Good -
- Agnieszka (9/5): Very nice - Charming owner who will gladly show you his superb garden. Nice room in a farmhouse, a bit vintage but with its charm. A spacious common room where you can prepare an evening meal, and where you take breakfast. A lovely cat comes to visit you there. I will gladly come back.
