Guest Reviews
- Goodier (10/5): Very good - Excellent breakfast more than you needed. Location very good If you could let people know that there are steps inside and out which is not good for a disabled person. Unfortunately my wife was disabled but sadly passed away in January,,so we would not have been able to use the cottage because she couldn't manage steps
- Jane (10/5): I will be back, and the cottage will be my destination. - Everything! the cottage was gorgeous, the little private garden was beautiful, with massive gums to stare at, and it was filled with edible goodies, even bacon and eggs in the fridge, croissants and pancakes in the freezer to heat up and 3 types of milk for you tea and coffee, and lots of cheeky snacks to eat. The toiletries supplied were also incredible! Can't think of anything
- Karma (10/5): What a delight, you will not regret booing here! - Such a beautiful cottage with everything you could ever want. It was like a home away from home! Thank you for a wonderful stay :-)
- Eveline (10/5): - This was one of my favourite places I’ve ever stayed during my travels. The house is cosy, private, and thoughtfully set up.
What truly blew me away, though, was the generosity of the hosts. I’ve never stayed anywhere with so many snacks, drinks, and thoughtful little touches. The handwritten Easter card was such a beautiful and personal gesture , it really made our stay feel special.
We felt like we were visiting a loved one who had gone out of their way to make sure we had a great time.
The location is also fantastic very convenient if you’re visiting McLaren Vale or heading to the beach, with restaurants within walking distance, yet still in a quiet area.
I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.
- Nils (10/5): - Next level hospitality. The guest house is so well set up and has everything you need for a fantastic stay.
My only regret is that we only booked one night.
- Picker (10/5): Wonderful and child friendly getaway. - Attention to detail and provided many generous goodies for a nice relaxing time. Extra consideration given to children and the host was a very friendly couple who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. The cottage itself is very comfortable and has plenty of space, even for a toddler. Nil
- Philip (9/5): Top spot. Friendly hosts. Wanred for noything. - Everything we could possibly need was on hand. Catering was wxceptional.
- Buddy (10/5): Best place to say - Everything! It is the best place we have stayed There is nothing to dislike, the property and hosts are amazing.
- Bernd (Ben) (9/5): -
- deborah (10/5): Absolutely perfect for a short stay for us as a couple. Very restful. - The property was a stand out with all the little special touches and goodies they provided, from chocolates on the bed to a lovely selection of items for consumption in the fridge and more. Baked goods, fresh bread and fruit. Lovely deep bath with bath bombs supplied, I could go on. The location was perfect, a stones throw from the restaurant we had booked. Gorgeous little fire too.
- Kylie (10/5): - It felt very homely, extremely clean and Kate and John go above and beyond to supply and ensure we had everything and then some. We loved the yummy muffins and freshly baked biscuits
- Claudia (10/5): -
- shareen (10/5): Perfect place, perfect hosts - This is a beautiful cottage, the hosts have put a lot of thought into furnishing it. Its felt almost like home. They have provided very generously with everything from snacks, range of of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/bathroom amenities, personal care items, fridge filled with spreads, baked pastries, general groceries, eggs, bread. Furniture in lounge and bed was very comfortable. We were there just for one night - wish we stayed longer!
- Christie (10/5): Exceeded expectations. - Not a bad word or thought about my stay. Kate and John were fantastic and I have to be honest it’s probably the nicest place I’ve stayed at in a long time. I was VERY thankful for all the food especially the prepared food in the freezer! I didn’t need to pop down the shops for anything. Thank you both so much for all the conveniences! :) This shouldn’t even be a question haha
- Hesther (10/5): Cozy, inviting, relaxing, warm and comfortable! - The cottage exceeded our expectations as the host had arranged home baked sweets on arrival and provided a plethora of snacks and meal options. We had a tasty afternoon-tea slice of banana bread and enjoyed her delicious brownie for dessert. The following morning we made a home cooked breakfast from the ingredients she carefully selected. The cottage was exceptionally clean, cozy and inviting. We loved it! There was nothing that disappointed :)
- Judith (10/5): -
- Chevy (10/5): Lovely place for a holiday - We stayed one night. Lovely hosts, cute and homey cottage. Liked the attention to detail. The 'extras' such as bread, milk, breakfast options and other treats really made it an easy short getaway. The hosts were very accommodating of our young son also.
- Andrew (9/5): A short but enjoyable stay at a lovely cottage property in Aldinga with a short walk to restaurants and shopping. - A very comfortable and homely property. A very wide range of breakfast options were available on check-in, including cereals, bread, eggs, bacon, juices, multiple coffee and tea options, plenty of fresh milk and snacks. There is also a lovely garden area with seating and a BBQ. Nothing!
- Paul (10/5): - Kate and John were such kind hosts. They provided us with everything you can think of. The cottage itself is wonderfull. We loved our stay very much🙂
- Lyn (10/5): Amazing - Amazing Nothing
- Michael (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): - Everything was exceptional. Above and beyond expectations. The owners are wonderful. Relaxing, peaceful, comfortable. Best home-made banana muffins. Breakfast selections galore, so much to choose from and all very tasty. That I didn't book for a longer stay. Will definitely be going back.
- Deborah (10/5): Fabulous little character gem! - From the moment of booking, John & Kate made you feel very welcome, communication was excellent.
Property is old fashioned quaint but with a modern bathroom & kitchen, wood burning fire, comfy lounges and has a lovely private deck complete with BBQ & garden. It is conveniently located to all local facilities.
You could not want for anything else with this place. Kate has ensured that every mod con in the kitchen is available, and every possible taste is catered for, from breakfast provisions, to ready to cook treats like toasted sandwiches, snacks, fruit and a plethora of choice with tea and coffee.
What's not to like! Nothing!
- Sandy (10/5): Generous hosts, very comfortable accommodation, a lovely garden to enjoy. Very handy to everything. - It was like a home away from home. Everything you could think of was provided. - Keith (9/5): Great one night stay, definitely will book again. - Great supply of food and snacks, lovely and clean cottage.
Under cover car parking was great. The weather was wild and cold, electric blankets for the bedroom would have been a nice touch as the reverse cycle air conditioning wasn’t working in the bedroom.
- Ali (9/5): Don't bring a thing. - Home from home. Absolutely everything you need is provided. Generous breakfast supplies and amazing array of snacks. Home baked banana bread was waiting for us. Incredibly generous hosts. Nothing.
- Heidi (10/5): The perfect cozy retreat - deep bath, warm fireplace, thoughtful extras, and everything you need for an easy, relaxing s - Our stay at the Maunder Cottage in Aldinga Township was wonderful- it was beautifully stocked with everything we needed. The bath was perfect and deep, the cottage clean and welcoming, and having a fireplace made it even cozier. We loved the hot chocolate station, freshly made muffins and the frozen food in the freezer; you literally only need the clothes on your back to stay comfortably for a night or two. The owners truly thought of everything (even a hair scrunchie!) and we will absolutely stay again! We liked everything!

I love this place
- Julianne (10/5): Relaxing and cosy. - A beautiful stone cottage with a pot belly which was fabulous the day we stayed. A good selection of breakfast items and lots of treats. The bath was the best we have seen on our trip through Adelaide. John and Kate were great hosts and very accomodating.
- Sarah (10/5): I could live there. - They catered for my dietary needs more than I was expecting. Greatly appreciated the variety.
Omg the bath, absolutely beautiful. No hot chocolate in the hot chocolate station, only flavoured coffee.
The bath needs a pillow for more comfort.
- Chester (10/5): Beautiful, private and peaceful escape for the weekend. - Fantastic, cozy cottage with all the treats and comforts you could possibly want. Close enough to shops and cafes for little escapes and tranquil enough to stay in all weekend. There isn't one thing I could possibly pick that John and Kate haven't thought of.

- Nicole (9/5): Aldinga Stop over - Maunder cottage was a great mix of an old stone cottage with modern facilities. You had you own outdoor space perfect for bird watching. It was a great place to stay for one night or the whole week.
- Chester (10/5): An amazing bed and breakfast, perfect for a relaxing weekend with every possible detail thought of! - John and Kate are exceptional hosts, they have thought of every need in the cottage and you can easily pack light and spend the entire weekend in your own oasis. Maunder Cottage is one of, if not the best, most relaxing old fashioned bed and breakfast getaways we have found in South Australia. There isn't much to not like about Maunder Cottage. The only complaint we have is that we only stayed 2 nights!
- Marieke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (9/5): Beach, beer and wine - make sure you stay long enough for all three. - We had booked a night but could easily have stayed a week. It is perfectly located on the edge of town so you get the rural benefits and have only a short walk to shops and bars - in our case the brewery. Great beaches for swimming and the vineyards on your doorstep. A short drive from Adelaide so perfectly placed. Absolutely nothing
- Reagan (10/5): Only one night but will be back gorgeous garden lovely inside lots of special treats such a nice - Breakfast great maybe a few more eggs but it was so lovelly beautifuly set up so much to choose from lots of little treats just perfect Nothing it was perfect

- Tammy (10/5): Perfection - Everything about this cottage was perfect. Right from when we pulled up. The owners were so friendly and went out of their way to make everything perfect for my sister and her husband on their surprise wedding night. Which was booked at the last minute. We couldn't have asked for anything else.
We look forward to the time we stay there. There was nothing We did not like. Everything was 10/10.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Adriel (10/5): Magical! That’s says it all. - What’s not to like. Perfect in every way possible. Don’t want to give anything away, you just have to try it to experience the magic!
- Matthew (10/5): Magical experience - This isn’t just a place to stay, this is a beautiful experience! I booked Maunder Cottage as a weekend stay for my wedding. I stayed alone the Friday night, and upon check-in I was astounded by the level of care and effort that John & Kate have put in. Charming furnishings, snacks and treats galore, amenities aplenty and very clean facilities.
My newly-wed wife adored the place when she saw it, and we spent a good part of Sunday lazing about in the lovely garden laying on the lawn looking up at the trees. We also took a couple of very short strolls up the street to a cafe for brunch, Kickback brewery for a drink and Aldinga Hotel for dinner. I wish that I had booked our stay for longer, and I noticed that a lot of other guests made the same comment in the visitors book. It felt like a dream home away from home.
- Humphrey (10/5): Exceptional - Was amazing and homely Nothing
- Mitchell (10/5): Exceptional -
