Oui, la côte pour y monter n’est pas pour les jambes faibles, mais la hauteur nous récompense par une vue à couper le souffle et un calme idéal. La cuisine est digne des meilleurs restaurants populaires qu’on ait visité en 2 semaines à travers le pays. Rien. Absolument rien.

• Jerome (10/5): - Super accueil de Ritchie et de sa famille dans ce remarquable établissement. On a adoré la vue sur Taganga et la baie (coucher de soleil remarquable). Le petit déjeuner est copieux et très diversifié. Nous avons prit les chambres delux et avons bénéficié de la terrasse qui donne sur la piscine avec la vue sur la baie. Possibilité de cuisiner dans la cuisine partagée. A préciser que la montée est très pentue sur 130 mètres.

• Angela (10/5): Paradiesische Oase der Ruhe mit tollen Gastgebern - Dieses Hostel war eines der besten, in denen ich je war! Vor allem das Netz und der Pool sind perfekt, um in der Hitze von Taganga mal so richtig die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Die Atmosphäre ist total gemütlich und angenehm ruhig – man bekommt vom Trubel unten am Strand gar nichts mit.Ein riesiges Lob an die Geschwister, die das Hostel leiten: Sie sind unglaublich nett, hilfsbereit und versuchen wirklich bei jedem Anliegen eine Lösung zu finden. Das Frühstück war jeden Tag ein Highlight, besonders wegen der täglich wechselnden frischen Säfte. Außerdem war alles ausgesprochen sauber und an der Bar gibt es günstige Getränke. Der Anstieg zum Hostel ist sportlich, aber man kann sich auch einfach ein Taxi direkt bis nach oben nehmen. Ich komme definitiv wieder!

Mi grupo y yo felices de los días vividos alla. La atención es espectacular, sin exagerar, espectacular !! Lo único, complicadita la llegada, unos 200 metros a pie, bastante empinado es, pero ellos dispuestos a colaborar si alguien está con dificultades para subir. En fin, hermoso ! • Cecile (7/5): - La vue est très belle Il nous semblerait vraiment important d’indiquer sur la page de présentation de l’hôtel qu’il sera nécessaire de faire une montée à pied en pic avec des sacs / bagages / valises sous 35 degrés. (!!) (attention aux personnes ayant des insuffisances cardiaques) À peine arrivé, vous êtes assailli de la liste des règles de l’hôtel. Notamment l’horaire du petit dej : jusqu’à 10h mais il faut venir avant 9h45. .. Puis, à notre arrivée, nos hôtes ont très mal pris que nous nous questionnions sur la durée de notre séjour (1 ou 2 jours pour raisons personnelles). Si bien que pendant la durée de notre séjour, nous avons senti que la famille nous avait pris « en grippe », ne nous regardait pas / à peine nous répondait. Aussi, nous sommes sorties plusieurs fois à pied à Taganga, notre hôte à l’accueil ne nous avait donné aucune indication, aucune précaution à avoir. Alors que la route principale pour rejoindre la plage est assez dangereuse, et qu’on nous a plutôt conseillé de ne pas rentrer seule à la tombée de la nuit. Bref l’hôtel a une très belle vue certes mais l’établissement semble plutôt orienté « business » et prenez garde de ne pas leur dire que la montée était difficile !! Il le prendra personnellement…
• Michelle (10/5): Bestes Hostel in Taganga - Das Hostel war einfach wunderschön, das Personal unfassbar lieb und das Essen ebenfalls klasse! Der Pool und das Netz laden zu entspannten Tagen ein. Es gibt eine Outdoor-Küche, die voll ausgestattet ist. Der Weg zum Hostel ist tatsächlich sehr anstrengend, dafür der Ausblick aber umso besser. Ich habe wirklich nichts auszusetzen. Wir haben auch spontan dort noch etwas länger bleiben können. Vielen lieben Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt!! Nichts, es war wirklich einfach alles klasse!

• Tim (10/5): Bestes Hostel in Taganga!🩵 - Der Ausblick ist einmalig und das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich! Ein paar Kinder und Tiere laufen auch herum, mit denen man immer spielen kann, wenn einem langweilig ist:).
• Dorothee (7/5): Ein Erlebnis - Das beste ist wirklich die spektakulär hohe Lage des Hostals und deren netten menschlichen wie tierischen Bewohner, der Besitzer hat auch einen schweizer Pass und ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, auch wenn das mit der funktionieren der Dusche dann doch nicht klappte. Das Frühstück ist lecker und die Aussicht natürlich fantastisch!!! Eine Herrausforderung, der lange steile Weg mit Gepäck ist extrem schweißtreibend, wir haben es nicht so krass erwartet. Die liebevolle Gestaltung der Unterkünfte wirkt im Vergleich mit den Fotos leider recht vernachlässigt.

Me encantó que tengan perritos y un gato, le dan un ambiente muy acogedor al lugar. Además, la playa de Taganga está súper cerca y el pueblo ofrece supermercados, restaurantes y muy buen comercio. Sin duda, una experiencia muy agradable. La experiencia en general fue muy buena: la vista es hermosa, la comida deliciosa y el personal muy atento. Solo en algunos momentos la comunicación pudo sentirse un poco seca ante preguntas normales, pero nada que opacara la estadía.

• Cándida (1/5): Pesadilla Ruidosa - Fue una gran decepción, es una casa que publicitan como hotel. Pero allí había una fiesta familiar. Llegamos y nuestra habitación la habían dado por error, tuvimos que esperar para que nos arreglasen una, que tenía el aire acondicionado roto, el baño perdía agua y se inundaba el suelo del baño. Llegamos sobre la 7 pm y había una fiesta con música muy fuerte a escasos 2 metros de nuestra habitación, no podíamos cerrar a 35 grados y sin aire. Allí estaban tomando, gritando, saltando a la piscina, hablando muy fuerte...Avisamos que necesitábamos dormir porque además estábamos enfermos, sobre las 22 pm bajaron un poco la música unos 10 minutos y la volvieron a subir, hasta las 1 pm aún continuaba y ya volvimos a avisar, la hija de la dueña que estaba en la fiesta, le dijo que nos fuéramos que nos devolvían el dinero pero que seguían la fiesta. Finalmente continuaron la fiesta en otro lado del hotel que lo escuchábamos menos. El trato y la empatía fue horrible, van de amables pero a la hora de la verdad es todo un teatro. Les dije q estaba embarazada y que me encontraba mal , que necesitaba descansar, y su respuesta fue "que No les contará mi vida". Finalmente tuve un aborto así que el no encontrarme bien estaba más que justificado.

Era apenas um cano caindo água. Também não esparava q rua fosse tão ingrime. Foi difícil subir e descer a rua com as bagagens.

• Regina (9/5): - Der gigantisch schöne Ausblick macht dieses Hostal zu einem Erlebnis. Der Aufstieg ist sehr steill, aber kurz und gut zu bewältigen.. Es ist sehr ruhig und friedlich dort, das Frühstück ist gut und die Cocktails auch. DIe Familie, die den Service macht, ist sehr freundlich, ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und bin deshalb am Ende meiner Reise dorthin zurückgekehrt. Der Pool müsste noch häufiger von Blättern usw gereinigt werden.

• Reyes Reyes (10/5): ¡Un descanso necesario! - Es un lugar excepcional para ir a descansar y tener un momento agradable contemplando la naturaleza, el atardecer y la compañía de un ser querido. Esta ubicado en una loma, un poco inclinada que si no tienes buen físico se te dificulta el acceso a pie, el hostal ofrece contactos de señores para subir en carro o moto.

• Rebecca (9/5): Pleasant Stay! - Staff were very friendly and the place was comfortable unfortunately we didn't get a chance to relax and enjoy it much. Due to our timelines it was a rush to go up the hill to our accommodations and tiring with our bags. Would be great if somehow there was a motoraxi or something to help us with that, hard to go up a long hill at the end of a long day. Overall great accommodation. Our hosts were very gracious and helpful including arranging a guide for us for a tour.
• Selwyn (1/5): Dangerous dogs - The staff were friendly. I got bitten by one of the hotel’s dogs. They get really aggressive when people arrive. I love dogs and have made friends with many hotel dogs in three months of travelling in South America. Unfortunately the dogs in this hotel are wild. There are a lot of them and they are constantly biting each other. Since I didn’t know which one bit me (the whole group chased me off the stairs to the hotel) I had to get rabies treatment as a precaution. In Colombia this means days and days of visiting hospitals and clinics to get the right treatment. I nearly missed my flight because of this. The ladies at the hotel were very kind and helped me disinfect the wound. And the rest of the hotel was fine. But if you end up in hospital because of a hotel’s pet that has to be the lowest possible rating.

• Bridget (10/5): We were rescued by this place! - This place is AMAZING! We had just come from the hostel of horrors in town to this paradise! The owners are absolutely delightful and so helpful with anything we needed. We were the only guests there at the time and it felt like our own little slice of heaven. The pool is lovely and the view is incredible. The room was everything we needed and the air con worked brilliantly. Lunch was great and the included brekkie was perfect. The hill is a challenge with a pack. It took us a while and we were SWEATING by the time we got to the top. But the view and hostel are incredible.

• John (7/5): Good - Nice view Updated pictures for the ad where you book. Better description of the elevation from the main road to Hostal Casa Horizonte. It had 2 different "dots" at google maps - its the one at the top of the hill.
• Susan (8/5): Very good - The views were amazing and the staff were nice, but Wendy is a really beautiful soul and made me feel very welcome. The atmosphere there is lovely and relaxed, which makes it a great place to unwind. The hill climb to get to this spot is a trek. In the heat of the day it is exhausting!
• Michele (1/5): Bad - The hostal has a great view, but that's all unfortunately First, you should note that it is located uphill, you'll have to take a *very* steep road to get there. The road is actually so steep that taxis cannot make it (!), so every time you want to come back to the hostel you will have to sweat heavily. Not to mention what happens with luggage. The hostel gives you a number of a taxi driver but he does not work in taganga anymore. Furthermore, the toilet in our room had a water leakage and we woke up with water on the floor and our stuff soaked (the backpack was on the floor). Moreover, the shower smelled bad, they "fixed" but then the shower didn't drain anymore. Anyways, these things can happen I would not bother to write a negative review just because of them. What was really unacceptable was the attitude of the ppl there. They never apologized for what happened, on the contrary they said it was us who flooded the room for washing our clothes (which of course wasn't true, as they had to fix the leaking pipe). They are incredibly arrogant and careless. When we complained about a 5% fee to pay by card, they insulted us and even threatened to call the police :) Colombia is full of nice, welcoming people. Just avoid this place if you want to relax and enjoy your vacation.

• Annika (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the place and the atmosphere! Yes, you walk up a steep hill to get there but you get rewarded with an amazing view and sunsets over the bay. Angelina, Milena and the team were angels and supported us with everything we needed, from special dietary requirements to organising a masseuse, doing laundry. The owner Javier made us feel home with his relaxed and welcoming personality. For us, it was the perfect place to recover from our hike at the Lost City. Thank you for everything!

• Murrough (10/5): Exceptional - The layout of the hostel feels like a tree house! All different level and point of entries - super fun & cool! The staff were LOVELY! The included breakfast can with delicious eggs, toast, a smoothie, coffee, and fresh fruit. Our room did not have AC but the fan kept us cool at night. The most amazing sunset views as the hostel is located up on a hill over looking the beach. A bit of a hill to reach the property but def worth it!
• Sarah (10/5): Very relaxing and recharging place with good energy - The place is beautiful and all hand made. Staff and owner are very friendly, they accommodated my needs. Also spectacular views of the sunset and sunrise.
• I. (8/5): Nice, spacious place with lovelt people and beautiful view - The view and the pool. The way up was a bit steep. but worth the view, location and people.
• Aislingok (9/5): Superb - Great host. The best place to watch sunset in Taganga. Good food. Nice pool with a view Walking up to the hostel with my heavy bags in the heat 😂 the view is completely worth it. If you don't like steep walks to accomodation then this place might not be for you

• Asly (10/5): Even if I have to climb up the path, I would come again. Definitely! - the stuff was super nice, really nice staying because when you go out for a trip, aprécialos on vacations, you don’t want to do any effort, I didn’t like the path to get there, but for 2 nights was okay.

Richie, his mother and the whole team created such an awesome place to relax by the pool, connect with other travelers or just enjoy ones private space! we can really recommend it - there is dorm, rooms with fan or AC - for everyone something! if you have problems with your knees or difficulties with walking I wouldn’t recommend staying here. quiet a journey to arrive to the place (so worth it though!) and lots of steps in the place.
