Guest Reviews
- Francesca (10/5): -
- GIANMARIA (10/5): - Mariam was the star of this stay. A wonderful host that shared so much precious insight on Armenian culture, history and traditions. We chatted forever!
The property is secluded and quiet which is exactly what we needed.
There are a couple of rough patches driving up and the last few meters before the property is a dirt road but don’t let anyone scare you because it’s very easy to reach even with a very low clearance car as our rental.
The food prepared for us for both dinner and breakfast was simply amazing. Tasty and earthy and home grown. Too bad we stayed only one night.

- Lipei (10/5): Little piece of heaven - The last 10 mins drive to the house is a bit bumpy but it’s all worth it once you enter the house and be immersed in total peace and quietness. The holiday house is spacious, clean and equipped with everything you need. The view is stunning and we really wish we could stay longer. The owner and her family are super friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this place!! Nothing at all.
- Tigran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Syed (10/5): A perfect snowy retreat with warm hospitality, delicious cuisine, and unforgettable nature experiences. - This place was truly the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Nestled amidst the breathtaking snowy mountains, it’s a haven for anyone seeking peace and beauty in nature. The scenery is simply stunning, with towering peaks blanketed in snow and an atmosphere that feels like a world away from everyday stress.
Our host, Meriam, went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. She welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family, ensuring every detail of our visit was perfect. She even surprised us by arranging a birthday cake, which added such a personal and thoughtful touch to our trip. The neighbors were equally kind and helpful, always ready to offer assistance or share a friendly smile, adding to the warmth of the experience.
One of the highlights was the delicious local Armenian cuisine Meriam served. Each dish was flavorful and authentic, giving us a real taste of the region’s culture and traditions—we’re definitely going to miss those meals!
In the evenings, we had unexpected tour guides: the local cats, who we enjoyed following around as they led us through the area. The skies were crystal clear, providing a mesmerizing opportunity for stargazing, and the mountains offered plenty of opportunities for birdwatching.
Every moment here felt magical, and it’s safe to say we’re already planning our next visit. We can’t wait to return in the summer to experience the beauty of this place in a whole new light. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, heartwarming getaway in Armenia! None
- Arash (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edith (10/5): Hidden gem that exceeded our expectations, definitely worth driving up the mountain for this place - Really wonderful hosts who made our stay extra special. Beautiful location in the mountains. Great for hiking, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful views (we could see a herd of bezoar goats from the balcony). Hope to return here!
- Reshmy (8/5): A place to disconnect from the city chaos - The property is located in a serene and isolated area, which offers a peaceful and calm environment. The rooms and kitchen provide a beautiful view of the surroundings. The place is maintained and well-equipped with all the essential amenities, including a washing machine and a fully functional kitchen. The host was available always on the phone for any questions or help.
The area has many apricot trees, and I can only imagine how picturesque it would look during the summer season. While the property was beautiful it would be good to keep the following points in mind before booking:
- The property is located in a remote area with only one elderly couple residing nearby during our visit. We were told that most of the houses are summer house only occupied during the season.
-There are no restaurants or grocery stores nearby, and you would need to travel at least 5 kilometers to find any food options. Nevertheless, there is a fully equipped kitchen available for preparing quick meals. It is advisable to either bring your own food or purchase the necessary groceries from the nearby town before leaving. Also the host can arrange food if informed beforehand.
-The network coverage in the area is not very good, but there is WiFi available with good speed.
-The place has more of an Airbnb home feel to it. The rooms are situated very close to each other with thin walls, however, we were fortunate enough to be the only guests and had the entire place to ourselves. It is an ideal place for a big group to stay together. All the rooms offer good views.
-The road leading to the place has many twists and turns, and during rain or snow, it can become muddy. When we were driving back, we faced some difficulties as it had rained the previous night, and some parts of the road were covered in mud and snow. However, the host was very helpful and helped us navigate the roads safely. He even drove us through some of the difficult patches. You do not necessarily need a 4x4 to drive on these roads, but having a slightly bigger car would be helpful.
- The payment has to be done in cash or bank transfer. The host allowed time to complete bank transfer before leaving; no credit card option available.
- Alexander (10/5): For those who seek peace and comfort - Being a local, I have never thought I would be so much surprised by the incredible hospitality of this guest house, and the heart-melting beauty of nature. It's a perfect spot for those who seek peace and concentration, home-made eco food, historic sites and nature. In other words, Gnishik and this guest house, particularly, are just hidden treasures. I highly recommend spending a week here for recreational purposes. I plan to visit this place every season to charge myself with positivity and inner peace.
- Karolina (10/5): Hidden gem, don't miss out! - This place is simply amazing and no words to describe the beauty of the location, but also the hospitality of Marine and her family. The food was exceptional and Marine gave us a real taste of Armenian flavours. The house is spacious and comfortable with modern furnitures. It's a gem right at the beginning of a beautiful trail in the mountains. Highly recommended! Everything was great.
- Vojtěch (10/5): Friendly, clean, new 😍 - New and clean, felt very homely and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and fantastic hosts, our short one night stay was my favorite moment in Armenia!
The approach road was better than expected - no problem with a Ford Mondeo.
