Guest Reviews
- Arian (10/5): -
- Léa (9/5): Houseboat fun, hotel-grade comfort. - Very pretty houseboat. It is quite small but the space is maximized in such a way that it ultimately feels quite roomy. The ambiance is great, and the bed quite comfy. Our host was lovely. The only downside we've experienced was a clogged shower drain. Easy 2-minute fix, a non-issue really. Given that it is our main complain, you can gauge how good our stay was.
- Cecilia (1/5): - My stay at Najade was disastrous. A nightmare. From the moment I arrived.
Issue n. 1 The door key wouldn't open the door. I tried several times. I even asked some passers-by for help. Nothing. I called the contact that was sent to me. The person I contacted didn't know what I was talking about. He hasn't worked for the owner of that boat for a long time. I sent him the email from booking.com with the reservation and his contact. I described the situation. We both thought it was a scam. I finally found another phone contact. This time the owner answered. I explained the situation and he calmly replied: it happens every now and then. In fact, he had a second key ready, as a back up plan, hidden on the deck, that opens another entrance. This way I managed to get in. The next morning it worked. In the afternoon it didn't open anymore. I asked a guest on the boat for help. He couldn't open the door either. The owner was unreachable. I called and texted him for about an hour. Unreachable. When he finally answered me he said he couldn't be reached because he was on a trip to the mountains. Since the owner is on vacation, why didn't he leave me another number to call in case of problems? At 3:00 PM I was locked out. After two hours a handy man arrived who fixed the lock and allowed me to come in.
Finally he gave me another contact. The contact of a person who lives in South Africa, South African number. He communicates only through WhatsApp.
So if you need help, it is better to be on WhatsApp and be connected.
Issue n. 2 In the only sink in the room the water was flowing slowly. The next day it was blocked. The person in charge of cleaning was preparing a room adjacent to mine. I informed him about the sink issue. He tried to unclog the sink. He succeeded. But the water was flowing very slowly. In fact that same evening it was blocked again.
I informed the owner. On Thursday he said he would send another house cleaner. And so it was. He managed to solve the situation. On the other hand, the room was flooded. That was inevitable.
Issue number 3: Broken head shower. On day one, as soon as I turned on the water the head shower flew off. It was unscrewed. No way to fix it.I informed the owner. He thanked me for the information. The cleaner tried to fix it. But he couldn't. Nobody fixed it. So I had to use the shower water that comes out of the hose.
Issue number 4: Every time I took a shower the water floods the adjacent toilet separated by a wall. I informed the owner. No reaction.
This is unacceptable. Unacceptable.
- Lisa (7/5): Average - The inside room was very clean and comfortable but the terrace was filthy with other people rubbish and cigarette ends. The cushions on the terrace were absolutely filthy and wet so not useable. We booked it for the terrace and was very disappointed that we couldn’t sit out there , especially as the weather was beautiful. The dirty terrace and cushions
- Glyn (7/5): Fantastic, stay communication was brilliant everything you need for a short break in the city of Ams - Self catering, but the accommodation was fantastic location fantastic very quiet and enjoyable. Bit rocky at times being a houseboat and on the water. Handrail on the stairs down and a little bit of maintenance on the shower when you have a shower, the water leaks out of the shower and runs into the toilet area
- Varvara (10/5): Exceptional - OMG! The location was amazing, and the boat was super cool! This place is incredibly romantic and perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on the boat at sunset. It's in the city center but away from the tourist zones, surrounded by local bars and restaurants. Such an amazing place—I’m 100% coming back! I was a bit silly and didn't read the instructions on how to get on the boat. That's not a minus for the host; it's on me for not paying attention.
- Kayleigh (10/5): Me and my partner had an amazing stay, thank you for having us. It’s been a pleasure :) - Was a really nice experience.
- Nicholas (9/5): We had a great time, everything was very clean and comfortable -
- Yevhenii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vladimir (10/5): Exceptional - The entrance is weird for the hotel, but the boat is exceptionally cool. I liked being there.
Has all the stuff you might need: hairdryer, heaters, AC power adapters, tea, coffee machine.
The washer is absent, but the laundry service is 2 buildings away and the walk to it is really beautiful.
The boat doesn't swing even in the wind, so you can comfortably lay in your bed.
The place is really comfortable and calm. A lot of cafes are within walking distance yet you're not overwhelmed with a busy city life that is closer to the centre.
- Timothy (10/5): Couple's getaway - The location was amazing (less than 20 minute walk to central station). The bathtub was a highlight, and the bed was very comfortable. You need to keep the windows open or else the temperature gets warm. There is a small drink cooler along with some dishes, cups, and cutlery, but no kitchen area (Just be aware that you won't be able to make your own meals).
- Susan (8/5): Lots of fun - Cleanliness could have been better.
- Dominic (9/5): Superb - Hey - the location was perfect for me. I've never stayed on a HouseBoat before - it was really fun! Would have been amazing if there was some bottled water in the room - as a tourist you dont always know where to find shops that sell what you need!
- Yousef (9/5): great experience - I always love the experience to live on a boat in Amsterdam, it was great stay and experience. would do it again. bit far from the center
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ioanna (7/5): Good -
- Ella (7/5): Nice presentation but wouldn't go back - Bed very comfy, liked the shower and bath. Oil heater made the space welcoming and warm. Loved the location! Disappointed on arrival as the space we rented doesn't have access to all the areas photographed on the advert (the glass viewing deck) I was looking forward to enjoying our breakfast there.. the advert gave us the impression we would be renting that space as well. Didnt like the condensation dripping from all protruding metal and off windows, this water is discoloured and you can't escape it, it drips badly above the bath (especially when you're in it), you also get dripped on your head whilst in lying bed. Our biggest issue was that we were both were badly bitten in the night, can't prove it but we're both very certain the bed has bed bugs. The white towels were clean but are very stained. I'd recommend adding a TV as there is enough space and electrical sockets.
