• Hodges (6/5): - The price was affordable and the staff was super helpful and nice. The picture of the exterior on the ad was deceiving. There was a weird smell in the hallways. The room was tiny! The bed and sheets were not comfortable. The location was not idle to leave the window open due to road noise. It was hot if the window was not open in October. It had a hostel feel. If you are looking for that type experience then it would be great. They had laundry and kitchen facilities.
• Milan (10/5): Pohodlné a klidné ubytování nedaleko Hallstattu - Strávil jsem v penzionu 4 noci s maminkou. Ubytování je pohodlné, čisté a klidné a Michael (provozovatel) je ochotný. Ubytování je ideálně umístěno pro výlety do okolí (autobusová zastávka a nádraží jsou nedaleko a přímo od penzionu lze dojít na vyhlídku Wasserfallwand, kterou doporučuji zvlášť navečer). V budově je také pekařství, kde nám moc chutnalo.

Clean and comfortable room, although the bathroom and toilets are shared, there is still a sink in the personal room, which is convenient. Passionate and helpful owner, Mike introduces the room passionately, invites me for a nice breakfast, and allowing me to store the luggage after check out. Everything is just so wonderful!

• Jan (10/5): Klidně se sem rádi vrátíme. - Bohatá snídaně s dostačujícím výběrem. Od hotelu dvě minuty chůze k zastávce autobusu do Hallstattu nebo k lanovce na Krippenstein za pár minut a cca 2 Eura. U objektu perfektní bezplatné parkování. Nemám připomínek.
• Sally (9/5): Charming, comfortable apartment, with great views. - Very well equipped, modern and clean apartment, with a huge balcony. Directly above a bakery! Very welcoming host. Five minute walk to train station and bus stop. Lots of lovely hikes from the front door. The local (small) supermarket was very expensive, and there were limited restaurants in the village. A welcome pack (milk, cold drinks) would have been welcome.

The room was exceptionally clean, and the breakfast area felt cozy — just like having breakfast at home. The food was simple but tasty. All in all, I loved the warm and welcoming vibe of this place. When other rooms are occupied, you may hear some noise.

• Ashlee (9/5): Peaceful stay in the foothills of the mountains - Michael the host is warm, welcoming and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was so well equipped with every utensil or pot/pan you would need. Beautiful balcony overlooking the Dachstein mountains. Such a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood, 100% recommend over staying in Hallstatt. We took a bicycle ride to Hallstatt (6km / 15mins) and it was saturated with tourists. But Obertraun is stunning! A real gem! There was also tea’s, coffee, oil, soy sauce provided which was an added bonus for us :) The only problem we had which has nothing to do with the property, but with the only supermarket in town. It was extremely expensive and understocked. But there are two good supermarkets in Hallstatt.
• Paul (8/5): Great place to stay in Obertraun. - Michael was a great inn keeper and the washrooms and shower were kept very clean. Breakfast was great. It was a convenient location less than 10 minutes to the ferry for Hallstatt. You cal also walk in about an hour. No concerns.

The property owner is incredibly kind and helpful, we ran into some car trouble and had to stay an extra night, he was incredibly accommodating!

Had just enough variety available. Had heavy luggage and there was no vertical transport available (known beforehand), more a warning for others. Limited number of car spots as well, first come first serve. I ended up parking off the street which wasn't far.

• Gergely (10/5): Great base for outdoor adventures - Great stay again, I can heartily recommend Haus Alpenrose. 2 minutes from the bus and train station - very handy, if you're by public transport, like me -, 5 from the lakeside, quiet but central. Michael is a great host with a lot of knowledge of the area and advice. Hearty breakfast, simple and clean lodgings, lot of information and leaflets for outdoor adventures. I did not have a problem, but if you are a light sleeper, the noise cancellation is average at best.

The lake - Hallstatter see - is ideal for swimming and the caves - Ice and Mammut of Dachszein, icl. view Five fingers - are also only six minutes far by bus. And bus station is only three minutes far - by walk - of accomodation. All was marvellous :)
• Chris (10/5): Excellent stay, we really enjoyed our time at Haus Alpenrose - Nice location for visiting Hallstatt and surrounding area. Good choice for breakfast. Also good parking at the rear of the property. The host Michael couldn’t do enough for us, such as giving us information on local attractions, he even very kindly lent me his own shaver charger as mine wouldn’t fit the euro socket. After we left we realised that my wife had left 3 dresses behind and the Michael is arranging to post them back to the UK. Nothing

The owners were really nice and helpful with info on where to take the ferry across to Hallstatt, where to rent bikes, ...The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered many options of breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, fruit, yogurt, and had an excellent coffee machine. The room was spacious and very clean. Added bonus: there's a bakery next door.

• Anne (10/5): A lovely stay amidst the mountains - The house was surounded by mountains, looked really cozy and was nice and clean! The owner was really kind and helpful, right now the mountain tops are still snowed under so our hiking plans didn’t go exactly as planned. He didn’t hesitate in giving us tips for renting snowshoes etc or for other trails we could walk. All in all we absolutely adored our stay!
