Guest Reviews
- Leon (3/5): Poor -
- Marina (8/5): Very good - Large bright sunny room. Big comfortable bed. Lots of hot water & window in the shower room. Very steep staircase would not be ok for some people or those with heavy luggage
- Bloodyprofs (1/5): Bad - There was a mouse in the room and it gnawed at our belongings.
- Yiğit (1/5): Don’t like it at all - It was warm inside. It wasn’t clean enough and theres lot of unfinished stuff around. And also there was a MOUSE in the house and lot of droppings around.. The owner was too reckless to understand the situation, he said “Its a busy and cold city so mouse could get in” how funny is to say this to your guests…
- Diana (7/5): Good - Location is quite good, 30 min walk to the city centre and central station. A cheep supermarket 1 m. walk. There was a fridge and microwave oven in the room. It was warm in the room. We stayed for 5 nights, there was only 1 pcs of toilet paper left for us, 2 more received after asked. No possibility to leave luggage before 14.00. There was a mouse in the room, we couldn't sleep well for 3 nights. Found sport in my coffer and eaten out plastic bag... Stairs was a challenge... No soap/shower gel in the bathroom. I was missing cups and forks, knife, even spoon. Only one plate and 2 glasses available, that was a pity as there is a fridge and oven in the room. It was also not really clean + the pillow case was dirty (has been changed after I have asked).
- Elaine (7/5): Good - The bed was very comfy, and the room was clean. The electric box by the entrance was buzzing and sounded unsafe. The stairs were very steep and with a loose bannister also felt very unsafe when taking cases up and down.
- Madi (7/5): nice located room - Overall it was a good room. The location is really good, 30 min walk till the center of the city. There is a cheap supermarket near and a really good bar in front of the building . The room is spacious and comfortable bed. Stairs were no problem for us personally ,but think twice if you have luggage cause it can be hard to go up and down with them. You have to be extra careful anyway cause they can be dangerous. The room could have been cleaned better. It was dusty and not properly cleaned. No soap and toilette paper and bathroom floor is always with water .
- James (7/5): Good -
- George-gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alisha (8/5): Nice - It was in a good location that was easily accessible by bus/tram. It was clean and neat and check in/out was easy. Very very steep stairs in order to access the property and the bathroom was quite small.
- River (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zac (7/5): Good - Close to the centre and good sized bed. Shower was broken and no soap or milk for coffee.
- Jessica (8/5): Very good - The location The ceiling drip and stairs but that's obvious haha
- Dr (3/5): Poor -
- Lucas (7/5): Really chill area with a short walking distance to the center🍻♥️ - Really nice length of bed. Super good ventilation and lovely hosts. Nice and easy to check in/out. People around us were really nice too. The mini fridge was a great addition. Kept our soft drinks and snacks cold. No soap or toilet paper on arrival. Had to buy that ourselves. Luckily we made it to the stay, before the store closed.
Not their fault, but the stairs are really hard to use. I’m a size 47 and I had to slowly climb down everytime.
- Lucy (5/5): N/a - Good location. N/a
- Alina (3/5): Very dangerous stairs, for sure not recommended for older people or people with disabilities. - Nice location. No hair dryer,no plaits,no cofee/tee,no toilet paper,no soap(((Very dangerous stairs, for sure not recommended for older people or people with disabilities.
- Alexander (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location, bed was comfortable. Hot running water. Very steep steps to reach apartment. This was mentioned in listing, but just a warning that suitcases were difficult to get up the stairs.
- James (9/5): well worth a visit. good value for money. - very unique. good shower and warm and cozy. had a fridge and tasty coffee
- Büşra (4/5): Disappointing - There was no hot water
- Mateo (2/5): Very poor -
- Teresa (7/5): Be aware of the steep stairs - Great location, a little bit away from the hustle and bustle but walking distance to everything, There were several nice places to eat close by and a supermarket. The bus came frequently along the road in front of the building. For those of you that have a fear of heights like I do, the stairs would be a big issue. We have steep stairs at home but the 60 degree angle of these and very small steps made it feel more like a ladder going up to the room.
There wasn't any toilet roll in my room, no sugar, milk or teabags and as it tells you there is a microwave you would expect cutlery and plates which there were none except a wooden take away one The shower curtain needed either cleaning or replacing but the shower itself was a great temperature with a good flow of water.
- Yiğitcan (3/5): Poor - Location was the good only good thing about that place. The bedsheets was dirty and there was hairs and stains on it, when I tell this to the host he did not even try to fix. Also stairs was too steep and dangerous. There was no soap or something to even clean your hands.
- Dmitriy (8/5): Very good -
- Alexandre (9/5): Superb -
- Popov (7/5): Good - Great location. Easy walk to the historic center by magic streets. Clean and bright room. A bit tricky front door. It would be great to change the lock there.
- Karolis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timon (7/5): Good - Nice room, clean, good style, good communication. The heating makes weird and quite loud noises that kept me from sleeping. The steep stairs are not for everyone.
- Elena (3/5): Poor -
- Jenny (7/5): Nice place for young people - Location was good and near public transit. Bed was comfy. Stairs were steeper than most in Amsterdam. Even for fit elders, hard to navigate. Bed was between 2 walls so getting out in the middle of the night was hard.
Neighborhood was very loud at night till very late like 2am.
- Juho-otto (5/5): Not as good as promised. - The location was good. The apartment was not cleaned properly. No hand soap and dirty glasses. The noice from the street was very loud, so bring earplugs. The stairs are deadly. If you have a suitcase, please do not book this hotel room.
- Clifford (2/5): Beware of the Stairs - The room.was clean The stairs. A warning should appear on booking.com. unacceptable. Dangerous. Too steep for luggage.
- Clifford (2/5): Beware of the Stairs - Room was clean The stairs were terrible. It was like climbing a ladder. A young fellow helped with our suitcases or we would have not made the stairs. Room was small.
- Amalia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Aret (3/5): Poor - nothing Location,the noise,the stairs,dirty,
- Benjamin (9/5): This was a great base to explore Amsterdam, would definitely stay here again! - Great location, especially for the price. Room is comfortable enough for 2 people, we had a very enjoyable stay. Be warned, people are absolutely not exaggerating about the stairs! I've never seen a staircase like this, it's more of a ladder than stairs. If you have big heavy bags, I wouldn't advise you to stay here.
- Paige (7/5): Good -
- Rabih (1/5): I truly believe that the this “hotel” and Booking have ripped me off! the room could barely be an annoying unclean and u - Nothing Everything, the location is above a pub that stays open all night until 4-5 AM! and most of his customers are sitting outside and you can never rest or sleep before they go.
The room was NOT clean at all, the floor was greasy and had too much litter I walked bare feet for a second and it was extremely disgusting.
There was nobody at all to handle anything, I never saw even one person in this apartment, service is a BIG 0.
- Prarthana (2/5): Very poor - The accesebility is v bad. Don't book if you are travelling with a suitcase
- Saray (6/5): Too expensive for its quality - The place was OK but definitely not for such a price! The double bed had 2 mattresses and they opened in the middle which was very annoying.
- Mario (8/5): Good - Position, commodities It wasn’t so clean and the stairs were a little bit dangerous
- Clemencia (1/5): Bad - Nothing The stairs are really small to step on and very high. Uncomfortable to carry the luggage or any package with you
- Rebecca (8/5): A nice pleasant short stay, would stay again. - The location was nice and quiet and not too far from the centre, the room was very clean, the instructions for check in were clear and the host seemed very friendly. I was also a bit conscious of the kettle on the glass shelf I was worried the heat might cause the glass to break the shelf above. Shower was OK.
- Imogen (7/5): Not a bad stay and did what we needed which was a place to stay. - Good location and the owner even left a fan so that we could cool down. It was very hot in the room, it was mentioned that you could change the temperature but couldn’t find it. The shower curtain was dirty as well.
- Dave (8/5): A great place to use as a base when exploring the city. - The location is fantastic, easy to walk into the center and the bars and restaurants locally are really good. When it said the stairs were steep, I never imagined quite how steep they would be. I am 64 and my wife is having cancer treatment so they were a bit much for us, we enjoyed our stay there but point this out so that anyone who has problems with steep stairs is forewarned. Also not easy if you have large cases. I know it was pointed out that they were steep, we just reiterate this point to help others.
- Carl (8/5): Very good -
- Rasa (9/5): Nice stay - I believe the experience depends on expectation. Since steep stairs were no surprise, I considered it as a cute part of the authentic Amsterdam experience. The room was quite cozy and had everything needed. I appreciated that there were some welcome coffee and sugar available. I loved that the grocery store is very close, maybe 30m away. The fridge and the microwave made the life easier. The location is very good - the rout from Central station leads through beautiful canals with great views of the city. Overall I had a nice stay. Thank you.
- Jonathan (6/5): Overall its was a great apartment just the end wasn't great to an amazing few days - Location was perfect. Apartment is spacious and great sunlight. Everything on your doorstep or within walking distance. Supermarket just a few doors down. We ended up being locked out on our last night there. From 4.30 am till 9.30 am and check out at 11. The key snapped in the door, now I know this is not the owners fault but there was on one else there to let us in. I rang the owner over 30 times in the 5 hours we where locked out and had no luck.
- Eva (5/5): Passable - When we arrived, the smoke alarm went off for no reason. We stopped it and left to go for dinner. When we came back, the alarm had been removed, so obviously someone had been in the room. I called the host to find out, so the one thing I liked was the fact that the host actually picked up the phone! Fixtures were in a shoddy state: the upright holding the shower was not attached at the bottom; the toilet seat not properly fixed to the bowl, so the moment you sat on it, it moved; the drip tray of the coffeemaker was missing and the only source of water to fill up the coffee machine/kettle was the really awkward tiny basin in the bathroom.
There's not one hook to hang up a coat in the whole place, nor is there much room for luggage.
- Francesca (8/5): Very good - The apartment it’s comfortable and its location is good. The only cons are the stairs. But it’s characteristic
- Marija (9/5): Would recommend - Location, price, surroundings, professionalism, cleanliness It would be great if there were some dishes. There are a fridge and a microwave but there's no plates, forks...
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - Great location! This was a really cute place away from the main crowds, so it was the perfect stay. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom, which made showering get a bit of water on the floor.
- Anastasia (8/5): Very good -
- Rohit (5/5): Passable - The apartment was neat and clean, and well furnished. As the description says, the stairs are really steep. Really hard to move up a large suitcase.
The location is a bit difficult to reach from the main parts of the city, there is no direct tram/bus.
- Anonymous (7/5): Good - The stairway was extremely steep
- Anand (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rimantas (6/5): Pleasant -
- Valeriia (10/5): Strongly recommend!!! - Awesome place for couples. We spent 3 beautiful day there. In relation to the price, the location was more then great (1,5 km to the most popular tourist places) Downstairs big supermarket, bar and few smaller stores. Public transport we used few times on our way back because we was tired from walking all day in center :) I want to add that owner of this place living downstairs and he help us a lot. We lost our keys in the night so thanks to owner we get to our place in the morning and didn’t miss our bus to Poland! The room is the same as in the pictures, only without a rug on the floor. For me it’s not mines but for some people it’s can be small problem: the steepest steps in Amsterdam ( add some pic)
Also take your own fork and spoon with you because it’s not included in price or someone just forgot to leave it in room for us :) everything else was incredible!
- Beni (5/5): Passable -
- Luiza (1/5): Bad -
- Robyn (3/5): Nice location - I liked the location
I liked the cute vibe of the room The TV or Internet didn't work
Room was really dusty
Also the steep stairs didn't get mentioned untill after I had paid and I'm epileptic so was not odeal
And there were no welcome notes it felt more like a hostel than apartment
- Martina (8/5): Very good -
- Monika (5/5): Passable - good location, near the tram, center walking distance through pleasant streets,, very steep stairs, but we got used to it. Loose toilet seat, almost broken flush, mold on the shower tiles, missing shelf under the mirror and electrical socket very high. That was a big disappointment.
- Nayarim (7/5): Good - The location is good. There is a nespresso machine, the bed is comfortable. The bathroom doesn't have a towel hanger. The stairs are too steep, which is very difficult the access with luggage.
- Dragos (9/5): Good option for short stay - Comfortable and cozy place. The self check in/out process was easy and straightforward. Steep stairs, quite hard to get the trolley up.
- Bilge (9/5): Would stay again! - The room is big enough, check in and check out were smooth. They provide towels, tea, coffee, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, fridge, and even a fan though we didn't need it since it wasn't that hot. Although it was a bit far from the center, there is a nice pub right in front of the hotel and cute cafes within walking distance. Nevertheless, we walked everywhere as the streets of the neighborhood that take you to the center are quite nice. You can hear the people next door as they open the door. The shower curtain didn't feel clean. There are no sockets near the bed. Furthermore, there was no soap in the bathroom which I found weird.
- Leandro (6/5): bad - bed, linnen and internet. poor cleaning, black hair everywhere. 1 small piece od toilet paper. I’m not sure if someone forgot the hair conditioner or it was left just enough for 2 showers. The host doesn’t seem to be a pleasant person and feels like doing a favor, not being paid to promote the place and service. and of course, don’t carry many bags, the stairways are narrow, don’t fit a feet.
- Saara (6/5): Pleasant - The location worked well for us, and we found the self check-in to be convenient and easy. A few basic amenities were missing from the room, for example a bathroom mat & two pairs of cups/glasses for 2 persons. The shower curtain was very unclean and there was no soap for washing hands. Bear in mind that because it is a room, the lock does not feel very safe on the thin door. We did not find it to be a problem, but mentioning it as a heads up for those concerned with it.
The room got quite warm (and the air a bit stuffy) even on a not so hot summer day with the window fully open.
- Caitlin (9/5): Superb -
- Laís (9/5): Superb - The room is spacious and comfortable. Not
very close to the city centre, but there is public
transportation nearby. The only killer is the endless
stairs to get to the flat.
- Marco (6/5): Pleasant - The room is well connected to the city center, stations and parks The room should have been cleaner
- Italo (8/5): recomended - good location and perfect apartment for a couple. .
