- Joe (10/5): - Talbot House is the most amazing place to stay. Steeped in history the house and gardens are so calming and the team who manage everything were the most professional people Ive ever meet in the hospitality world.
We went there go go to a metal concert and even though we looked like 2 typical heavy metal fans we were welcommed with open arms.
We intend going back next year for longer and intend to see more of this area and enjoy the spectaculor house and gardens again.
Highly recommended....
- Calleeuw (8/5): Heel aangenaam. - Ontbijt voldoende. Geen opmerkingen. Twee persoons bed.
- Marie (10/5): Amazing! Niks!
- Paul (10/5): - Authentic WW1 rooms. Lovely atmosphere about the whole place and loads of history. Safe cycle storage Nothing

- Clive (9/5): Good visit -
- F (10/5): Outstanding. To stay here was a privilege. - What outstanding stories lie behind these doors! Talbot House will stay in my heart forever. We made new friends in a historic setting whose purpose was friendship and care. An amazing experience.
- James (10/5): Very helpful staff - Everything
Nostalgisch vertoeven. Nvt
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional find - An amazing treasure - a must-visit for anyone interested in WW1 history. Exceptional stay.

- JW (10/5): - Briljante unieke ervaring! Niets
- catherine (8/5): - De gastvrouw Niks
- Pulverness (10/5): A unique place to stay. - A very special place, preserving the house that provided respite to soldiers during WWI, and crucially, a place where the motto was “Abandon rank, ye who enter here” - in other words every soldier was welcome regardless of rank, which is why it was called Every Man’s Club.

- Imogen (9/5): Unforgettable visit to this historic building - The history, you don’t get to stay in a museum often. Being able to see some of the history in the guest area and then visit the exhibition the next day really made it, incredibly moving.
Breakfast was great, we ordered the cooked breakfast as an extra (good to have a veggie option)
Excellent value for money as well. Unfortunately there was a mess up with the booking, possibly due to a staff changeover, but we had specifically booked a room in the main building, and got allocated to the garden block, which is also part of the historic building complex. It was too late by then someone else was in our room. That was disappointing because we’d spent ages choosing the room for maximum historic interest. This would have been OK otherwise except, though when we were shown the room it was warm and cosy, we just could not get the heating system to work later in the night (one of those combined A/C & fan ones) and it was arctic outside that night so we somewhat froze. Probably useful to make sure people have instructions. However a good breakfast cheered us up and we reflected it was probably more authentic to experience the temperature that the troops might have done!

Uniek kader. We hadden ogen te kort. niets :-)
- Gwen (10/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): Quirky, historic, welcoming and comfortable - A quirky fun place to stay on the actual museum. Shared bathroom but all clean and nearby. Amazing history and feel to the house. All very friendly and welcoming. The road was quite noisy at night and we had to have windows open as the weather was very hot. Probably fine if you could close the windows.
- Josie (10/5): We shall be back! - Friendliness of staff and guests.
Unique place.
Wonderful trays of tea.
Ample selection for the included continental breakfast. Idyllic gardens.
- Kurt (10/5): Toplocatie - Mooie historische plek
- Jan-Jaap (10/5): - De huiselijke sfeer.
- Natasja (9/5): - A wonderful place that breathes history and where you feel an incredibly warm welcome. It is an old house and therefore a bit noisy, but that is of course a logical consequence of the type of building and it did not bother us. We had earplugs with us, but since we slept in the "garden-house" (and not on the street side) they were only used for the snoring of our own roommate 😀
- JP (9/5): -
- Margo (10/5): -
- Glen (10/5): Would stay again - Beautiful building, great breakfast and convenient location. I went to Belgium for a World War 1 venture and knowing the building itself being part of that history made the stay so much more interesting. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help with any needs you have. N/A
- Jeremy (10/5): A perfect place to enjoy peace and quiet in a place of such incredible historical importance - It is a privilege to be able to stay in such an amazing place. So full of history and charm The bathroom window wouldn’t close completely and it was a bit chilly in the middle of the night!

- van huffel (8/5): 🔝🔝 - Those 2 Scottish wardens ❤️❤️
So I knew what to expect. This place is unique. My room (The Generals ) is kept as was during WW1. Don't expect a TV, or unnecessary frills. It's basic, shared shower and toilet. But it's functional, and clean
Full English breakfast also a bonus. Nothing to report
- jensie (9/5): -
- Britta (9/5): Cozy home and friendly staff - Cozy home and friendly People Nothing
- Michiel (10/5): -
- Glenn (10/5): One of my favourite places to stay. I’ll be back again. - Home away from home. Staff are fantastic. No dislikes
- Aude (10/5): -
- Charlie (9/5): -
- Sara (9/5): - Heel lekker ontbijt. Meer dan voldoende.
- Mark (10/5): -
- Greet (9/5): Prima verblijf. Erg speciale beleving. -

- Jamie (10/5): - Amazing experience hosted by volunteer wardens who could not have done more to make me feel welcome. Perfect location, bike storage, beautiful garden, and a museum and house tours to enjoy too. An amazing stay in a historic gem.

- Sebastian (10/5): Great stay in historic house. - Always great to stay in this historic house. Managed to get parked round the back okay. A warm welcome from the wardens, a cup of tea and a tour on arrival. Beds were comfortable for a good night’s rest. Nothing.
- Jan (8/5): -
- mandy (10/5): Super friendly and comfortable - Excellent place to stay - comfortable and clean and the warden Gerald and his sons looked after us so well. Loved the garden and superbreakfast. Definitely a home from home!
- Brian Louwers (10/5): This is the perfect base from which to explore the Ypres area, literally woven into its history. - Exploring the rich history of the Ypres area is one thing. Living amidst it takes this experience to another level. This is what you can expect to find at Talbot House, which is literally a working museum and an enduring testament to the people who labored to give soldiers of The Great War a few moments of peace away from the front line. Book a room. Enjoy a full English breakfast. Spend a moment in quiet reflection in the upper room or rear garden, and enjoy a local beer in the first-floor sitting area, all surrounded by history. Oh, the stories the walls here can share, now echoes of lives well-lived and tragically lost.
This is an unforgettable lodging experience.
- Toveri-Sam (8/5): Majapaikka luostariolutreissua varten - Erittäin mukava henkilökunta! Kivalla paikalla. Omalaatuinen majoituspaikka, jota oli kiinnostavaa tutkiskella. Äänet kantautuvat huoneeseen herkästi, mikä on varsin ymmärrettävää vanhassa rakennuksessa. Jonkin sortin tuuletin olisi ollut kiva lisä.
- Richard (10/5): - Wonderful Nothing

You come to connect to with our Grandfathers & Great Grandfathers experiences Parking nearby a little bit hard sometimes

Usually interesting fellow guests
- Entenfreund (10/5): - Staying at Talbot House was truly a unique and moving experience. It is not just a guesthouse but a place full of history, warmth, and peace. From the moment we arrived, we felt the special atmosphere of this historic home, where every room tells a story and the beautiful garden invites you to pause and reflect.
Our host, Chris, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home right away. His hospitality and kindness added so much to our visit, and we are truly grateful for the way he cares for both the house and its guests.
- Paul (10/5): - Can’t begin to describe what a great stay this is. A real experience, if you are doing the battlefields, then staying or visiting here is a must. Comfy beds, great facilities and good breakfast. Loft chapel is probably the nicest chapel or church I have ever seen mainly because of the emotion involved. Thoroughly recommend.
- Jacqueline De Geyter (9/5): kort e zeer goed vriendelijke bediening - de rust niets
- a. (8/5): -
- Zeer verzorgd ontbijt .
Super mooi gedekte tafel.
Charmant ! Niets !
- Samuel (10/5): Interesting and comfortable, historic hotel - Booking for a family via hotels.com doesn’t really prepare you for the museum experience you get here.
Our friendly hosts were kind and helpful. We loved the attached museum and the kids loved that the room was actually a ‘display piece’ too - but magically we were allowed to go past the barriers.
I’d plan the restaurant in Popering in advance (especially with children).
Interesting and historic hotel with beautiful grounds and very comfy beds.
- Paul (6/5): One night is enough - Comfortable bed. The old lady in charge during check in did not tell us that we need to pre order hot breakfast!! The garden rooms is noisy when customers check in upstairs
- Guy (8/5): -
Mooie tuin.
- Paul (10/5): - Nice room, super friendly staff, great breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): Hotel or museum? - Its bedrooms in the old house are not sound proof in any way and doors slamming into the late evening with recorded historical voice tapes and a chess games room just outside the bedrooms stop you having a good nights sleep. In my opinion the old house should be maintained as just a museum and dining and kitchen area. It doesn't work as a museum and a hotel. The breakfasts were well presented and abundant in variety and the bread, cheeses and ham super fresh.
- Margaret Diana (10/5): - It is very quirky but you are stopping in an old property that is also a museum & totally unique
