Guest Reviews
- Jake (10/5): -
- Jobin Varghese Jacob (8/5): Still enjoying the night đ - Location, spot, the comfort, cleaniliness. Everything is top-notch. There is nothing we didn't like but felt some improvements can be made. Drinking water facility in the room along with a microwave to heat the food and coffee. A bath mat also can be provided.
- Jodie (10/5): The cosiest getaway with amazing hosts - Itâs the sweetest little place and the perfect getaway if you want to âunplugâ and enjoy the countryside. Megan and Mark were amazing hosts and shared stories with us at their bar when we arrived, and over breakfast (which was also amazing - Meganâs sourdough is the best weâve ever had) Nothing
- CLAIRE (10/5): Friendly, homely environment -
- Max (8/5): Fine stay with friendly folk. Excellent breakfast - Location, spacious Loose deck
- Chaturika (10/5): -
- arun (9/5): A warm, homely stay made special by Meg and Markâs genuine hospitality and beautiful, fresh breakfasts. - We had a really lovely stay at Oaktree Guest House. Meg and Mark have created such a warm, homely place, it honestly felt more like staying with family than at a guest house.Meg went above and beyond, especially with the breakfasts. Everything was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and felt a bit gourmet without being over the top. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests.
Thanks again to both of you for making our stay so comfortable, weâll definitely be back.
- Ishani (10/5): Highly recommend - Breakfast
- Jesica (10/5): -

Very friendly with an extensive knowledge of surrounds .
- melissa (8/5): Wonderful stay. Megan and Mark were amazing hosts who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Weâve thoroughl - Feels like going to visit the grandparents. Great if you have kids. Doing small farm activities like feeding the chickens and having a generous home cooked breakfast and warm hosts. Itâs a bit dated and behind on maintenance.
- Janet (8/5): All in all a lovely stay. The hosts could not do enough to please - Warm friendly welcome from the hosts. Clean bedding. Tidy. Lovely home cooked breakfast. Hot tub was not clean or filled.
- Alison (9/5): Relaxing and interesting. - We loved the hosts Meg and Mark.
- sandhu (10/5): -

- Mollie (10/5): Home away from home! - The hosts were absolutely lovely! We ended up chatting late into the night and then they had an amazing breakfast cooked the next morning. Nothing!
- Deo (10/5): Wonderful Getaway for Family - Our stay at Oaktree Guest House was absolutely fantastic. The hosts, Megan and Mark were warm, helpful, and always happy to assist with local tips. The room was clean, cosy, and well-equipped, making our stay very comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight â fresh, tasty, and generously portioned. The location was quiet yet convenient. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily return. There was nothing that i disliked.
- Zivic (10/5): -
- vinpreet (10/5): - Meagan and Mark were exceptional hosts.
- Coote (9/5): Warm and cozy country stay in an amazing location. - Beautiful property. The knowledgeable and hospitable owners were lovely and very helpful. Delicious home cooked breakfast.
- Simmy (1/5): Very disappointing stay despite kind hosts - Very disappointing stay despite kind host. We were quite disappointed with our stay at this guest house. The furniture was very old, and the blankets had a strong smell of dust. There was visible dust on the balcony and other areas of the room, and even some mould on the ceiling. I started sneezing during our stay for the first time this season, and my daughterâs eyes became itchy â likely due to the dust and poor air quality. We couldnât use the outdoor area because of how unclean it was.
We booked the property based on its 9.3 rating on BookMe, but honestly, we donât understand how it received such high reviews. The cleanliness and maintenance were far below expectations.
That said, Meg and Mark were excellent hosts â very kind and welcoming â but unfortunately, the condition of the property really let the experience down. - Neesa (9/5): Staying with Nana - Owners went above & beyond, they made us feel welcome, comfortable, even set up a cot in our room for our baby and gave us extra sheets & towels. Meg made a delicious breakfast for us, she is such a fantastic cook. There was so much to do for the kids, games, toys & outdoor exploring.
We felt like we stayed at Nana's place ! Renovations & needed a little tidy but thats expected when renovating.
- Alexander (1/5): Run down accomodation, however with nice people running it. - The staff were lovely and nice people
The room had some nice sunlight coming through
There were birds in the garden
Room was clean The property was extremely run down. The outside furniture was falling apart. the renovations were ongoing and strewn around the place.
Our view looked out across the spa, filled with discoloured water and covered by a board
The room had a musty smell
The garden was not maintained and strewn with weeds
It had the feeling that no maintenance had been done for 3+ years.
We were hoping for a nice romantic getaway, and left after the first 2 hours of arriving
The money we paid for our room was laughably excessive for the overall propertyâs condition
- Kayla (9/5): Relax and reconnect. Fabulous hosts - as others have said, it's like visiting family! - Breakfast was absolutely amazing! Made to order, wish I could have it every morning!
The location was really close to lots of local hikes which my partner and I loved exploring.
There is a huge selection of games and movies, so plenty to do. A lovely way to relax and disconnect. Unfortunately the spa was out of order at our time of stay, however there is a new one on the way.
Otherwise, no qualms at all.
- Katy (10/5): - The gardens and views were so nice and relaxing and the breakfast was delicious.
- Katy (10/5): - The hosts were so fantastic. Felt like coming home to spend time with the grandparents.
- Shalendra (9/5): Snow stopover - Very cosy and cool cottage. Spacy and clean. Nicely tucked in a quiet area, yet short drive to Marysville centre. The door lock was not the best. Would have preferred deadlocks and something more secure, however the lock did secure the door.
- Terri (8/5): Stunning location. Warm homely environment. Very comfortable beds. Lovely hosts and delicious breakfast. Perfect weekend - Stunning location. Warm homely environment. Very comfortable beds. Lovely hosts and delicious breakfast. Kitchenette in room was a bit dirty with leftover food under appliances. No tap to wash dishes.
- Maria (10/5): - Lovely welcoming hosts. A traditional style guest house with generous breakfasts.
- Caleb (10/5): Highly recommended. You won't regret starting here. - Great hosts and home. Room was large, beds super comfortable and breakfast sensational. Lots of books, boardgames and movies available to deal with boredom Shower was a bit weak.
- Buller (10/5): Amazingly unique and comforting. - Amenable owners. Loved Mark and Megan. Amazing ambience. It was wonderful getting away from the impersonal âdesignerâ rooms of conventional motels/hotels. Hearty breakfast and shuttle to local restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we had more time to share a yarn with Mark and Meganâs home cooking on request. Definitely going back. It is what it is! Atmospheric, unique, fun. We loved everything about it but if you are looking for Peppers -like accommodation go to Marysville. Thereâs one there.
- Elisha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shaik (10/5): Beautiful short stay but meaningfull as a whole package. - Felt like a family. Awesome unique experience in my life. Breakfast were out of the world. I loved Megan and Mark. They are kind and very good soul. I wish their well being. And I wish visit them again with more days. Nothing to mention. All were so positive.
- Hilman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roxanne (9/5): We had a wonderful stay, with a beautiful breakfast and the warm hospitality of our hosts. - We had a wonderful stay, with a beautiful breakfast and the warm hospitality of our lovely hosts. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, even helping us dry our snow gear.
Our kids especially enjoyed visiting the chickens and ducks, which added a fun and memorable touch to the experience. There were plenty of games and DVDs to keep them entertained, along with fresh fruit thoughtfully provided for them. It was a truly welcoming and family-friendly stay.
- Jay (9/5): Superb -
- Ana (9/5): We had a great stay as a family! - Location, foods, amenities, staffs
- Bronwyn (9/5): Superb - The owners were very helpful. The facilities were great to have a cosy communal area for chatting with a variety of books and games to play and a fireplace to sit and relax by. The afternoon sunlight coming into our room made it lovely and warm. The gardens were out in their winter flowers, always lovely to see. Breakfast was included, and my grandson particularly loved his pancakes and fruit.
- Annette (8/5): A lovely B&B experience- Thank you Meg and Mark - A lovely breakfast and yummy homemade pies!
- Jun (10/5): Warm country cottage stay with exceptional hospitality - Beautiful views of the mountain and fields, great hospitality, Megan is so warm, welcoming and kind, keeps offering us food and drinks too! Lovely cosy stay!
- Fleur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (7/5): Great! - The couple running the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and they allowed us to have an early check in which was really great. Breakfast was included in the room which was also very good. Anything we asked they tried their utmost to help. Excellent service overall. Thank you! The facilities are a bit dated which is to be expected as it's an old building. The shower was really weak and the temperature kept changing from hot to cold but otherwise we enjoyed our stay. It was pretty cold overnight but to be honest we couldn't work out the heater so that's probably our own fault. Electric blankets helped and extra blankets provided helped too!
- Joel (9/5): Superb -
- Snezana (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Breakfast was fresh, tasty, well presented and portions were beyond expectations. Friendly staff from the time we arrived until the time we left. There is nothing we didnât like.
- Gabrielle (10/5): Couldnât be happier! - Meg and Mark went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We loved chatting with Meg during her DELICIOUS breakfast service. The room was extremely clean, bed and couch were very comfortable and we loved their fabulous dvd collection. Nothing at all

Lovely cooked breakfast All good
- Edward (8/5): Very much enjoyed the stay: Mark & Meg very hospitable & keen to please. Cooked breakfast 100/100. - Gardens, lounge areas, BBQ facilities. Many repairs / renovations currently unfinished.
- Rohini (10/5): It was very relaxing and peaceful - Host were very friendly and they made us feel like home. Nothing
- Hazel (7/5): Good -
- Martin (10/5): The best place we've stayed at. - Owners are terrific people and very friendly.
A lot of great animals on site.
Breakfast was amazing and very well prepared.
- Donald (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): A very pleasant place to stay not far from Marysville - A comfortable guest house run by a lovely couple. Megan also makes wonderful pies. We bought some when we left to have at home later. Nothing to complain about
- Emma (10/5): A homely country vibe with fantastic hosts - highly recommend! - Megan and Mark are wonderful hosts and lovely people. They are so friendly and welcoming and catered for our every need. In fact, most of our time at the accommodation was spent chatting with them and Gabby (daughter), sharing stories and laughing together, they really made us feel like part of the family.
Megan's breakfast includes her freshly baked homemade bread and eggs laid from their chooks, her pancakes were honestly the BEST I'VE EVER EATEN; light, fluffy, huge and topped with yummy maple syrup which they import from Canada.
Oak Tree Guest House has an interesting history which Mark will happily tell you all about! You shouldnât expect mod cons, but you can absolutely rely on clean, comfy and homely facilities in a spacious relaxing country setting. We highly recommended Oak Tree Guest House and hope to visit again. Thank you Megan, Mark and Gabby!

- Rochelle (9/5): Superb - Megan & Mark (M&M) were friendly, welcoming, accommodating and caring. Very experienced travelers themselves and it felt like walking into a real English Bed & Breakfast.
- Vikas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mairaj (8/5): Decent country lodging - Very friendly and accommodating hosts. Great breakfast and nice views. Heater worked well too, else we'd be freezing. It's a country style lodging with authentic vintage vibe, great for relaxing but naturally not very fancy comfy. Can't complain, except bodywash and conditioner bottles were not filled, and I only got to know that while in the shower running late, so had to make do.
And booking.oom photos are little overpromising.
- Linda (10/5): It was a very friendly environment, and our host went far and beyond our expectations. - We arrived early and we were welcomed with open arms and allowed into our room Everything met our expectations
- Sian (10/5): Exceptional - Meg & Mark are fantastic hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt right at home from the minute I arrived. The room was very well equipped with a separate living room area and kitchenette, and really comfy beds. There's a lovely view over the fields from the upstairs - nice to watch the sunset from the spa bath! Oh yeah, breakfast cooked to order too! Nothing.
- Vicky (5/5): Food is better than accommodation - Breakfast is really yummy, owner is really nice Need fresh air in the room!
- Shahrukh (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was outstanding! Meg and Mark were such a wonderful host. Felt like visiting family!
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pablo (10/5): Great getaway between Healesville and Marieville - Meg and Mark run the Guest house magnificently. The room was very clean and comfortable, so was the bed. The breakfast was awesome. -
- Ricky (10/5): Great base for a riding holiday - Great peaceful stay. Warm and friendly hosts, hearty breakfast. Even rolled out a hose so I could wash my MTB. Think I saw a leadbeater possum scurry across the road in front of me as I slowed to turn off into the driveway. Doesn't have a big flashy sign out front... ... so slow down and look carefully, or you'll drive past it.
- Alison (8/5): Very good - The breakfast was very delicious. there was a good choice and beautifully cooked and served.
- Neil (6/5): A good stay close to the venue we needed to attend, Megan was a host - A good breakfast very generous.
Close to where we needed to be. Can see work in progress, rubbish from on going work needs a clean up, or a shed ? no lighting on stepsup to rooms , (recovering from a broken leg this was important). Parking difficult for passengers can get out of car due to garden overflow
- Sophie (10/5): Home away from home - Staying at oaktree was like a warm hug. From the hospitable welcome, spotlessly clean rooms to relaxing environment, it simply ticked all the boxes for our stay. The breakfast was YUM, the board game selection exceptional and we all just felt sooo looked after. Thanks for having us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. NA
- Tamara (7/5): Good -
- Zvia (10/5): cozy warm and Great location -

The room was comfortable for 4 of us (including 2 young kids), and delicious breakfast. Meghan and Mark were nice hosts, theyâre working hard to please the guests. We had a lovely time staying there for the weekend. There is no noise cancellation to the room next door, we could hear the other people woke up quite early, and the kids were crying
- Susie (9/5): Very family friendly and a cosy place - It's a beautiful and peaceful place hosted by Mark and Megan. Megan gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. She greeted us at the car. Entire place clean and comfortable rooms. They provided breakfast to fit in with our diet in front of the fireplace in the morning was fantastic and much appreciated.
