There are only a few rooms and a nice patio to hang out,so it is very quiet there. It is also located in a peaceful neighborhood,so no noise from the street. Walkeable distance from the center and easy acces to beaches. Excellent breakfast. Thank you:)
- Michelle (10/5): The hosts are what make Hotel Turispanish a true gem - Ruben & his family and staff are so warm and welcoming, I felt like I was staying with my own family. I had a great time on his guided hiking tour of the 'secret' beaches of Taganga (ask to check out the book he wrote!). If you really want to get a taste of the local life, spend an evening hanging out with him soaking up the 'corner culture!' I really enjoyed staying in a local neighborhood off the beaten tourist track, in which I felt very safe, and is within easy reach of virtually everything. The room was immaculate, the beds are super comfy, the AC is on point, and the shower had good pressure. I'm sad I didn't get to laze in the hammock that comes with the room - it was just too hot for me. Good wifi throughout the property. The patio area is delightful, and provides a nice buffer from the street noise. Both the breakfasts and lunches were fantastic, and an excellent value. I'm very grateful for the free coffee in the mornings! Overall, Hotel Turispanish is a wonderful experience, and an incredible value. I can't recommend it highly enough, and I wouldn't stay anyplace else in Santa Marta. The kitchen is not really shared, since they sell breakfast and lunch, and it's used in the evenings by the family for their own dinner. You can use the fridge for storage, though.

- James (10/5): Owner Makes You Feel Like It Is A Home Away From Home - Loved the owner. Friendly, helpful and interesting to talk to. He speaks great English. Comfortable room and great Internet for Santa Marta. A few times without electricity but welcome to the coast of Colombia! Coffee always at hand and he treated me to some tasty free food on more than one occasion. Is very knowledgeable of Colombia's attractions. Located in a fairly nice neighborhood, but where the hostel was located lacked a decent choise of earing options in the vicinity save the typical Colombian fried fare. I walked to the mall about 15 minutes away to have healthier and more varied options.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - This was a lovely place to come back to after a hard 4 days doing the lost city trek. The court yard is lovely and the bedroom spaceous. We were greeted with a cold glass of mango juice and our really friendly and helpful host, Ruben. We were leaving the next day but our extremely smelly washing was clean, dry and folded by the time we left. Would definitely recommend a stay here and would book again if we go back to Santa Marta.

The owner is really nice and had a lot of good recommendations for the nexts days of our journey. only the water in the accommodation had problems to flush when two persons directly shower behind each other. Therefore, a bit of water was at the bathroom floor but it wasn’t that bad.

- Fred (10/5): The best place to stay in Santa Marta - Ruben is a fantastic host. I felt like part of the family. This place had the best food I had in Colombia! The Wi-Fi was fast and stable.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - - Friendly and helpful owner (for example - help us to book trek to Ciudad Perdida) - Possibility to leave luggage for the duration of the trek - Beer and fun on the corner (in front of the store) :-) - Very good breakfast - Quiet a safety place, but not right in the center (rather an advantage for us) - Outdoor seating in the yard - Laundry (on request) - ATM in distance 50 m - We felt like at home and we would love to come back!
