Wally helped us so much with our route planning for the national park and it really is a 5 min walk to the east gate. The location is perfect with lots to see nearby as well as the park. We also used the laundry which was a great bonus. Nothing!

If you consulted him in advance about booking tickets, he would help you purchase the tickets. He is an excellent host, always willing to share his ideas and help us plan our trips, and also assist us in exploring those amazing parks. La chambre était très joliment décoré, raffinée et confortable. Tout était très propre. La douche a de l’eau très chaude avec une bonne pression. Les serviettes de toilettes étaient douces et agréables. Il y a une bouillotte pour se faire ses boissons chaudes. La literie est très confortable avec une bonne qualité de linge. De plus, Wally est un hôte adorable et très arrangeant! Il nous a aidé pour beaucoup de choses (organisation du séjour, restaurants, il est venu nous chercher au bus, il nous a aidé pour notre lessive…) Et pour finir, il y a un gros chien adorable ! Owner is amazing; gave us a map and explained everything step by step for all 3 days of our stay and our visits to National parks (we also visited Tianamen mountains, watched an evening show there and we visited Canyon with zip line and 2 slides. He booked us tickets for a show in Grand Theatre with some discount. Every room has a shower even though it's called hostel. Overall very nice and convenient place to stay. N/A

Die Lage ist perfekt: Das Hotel befindet sich nur etwa 5 Minuten vom Eingang des Zhangjiajie Nationalparks entfernt, was unseren Besuch extrem bequem gemacht hat. Trotz unserer sehr späten Ankunft nahm sich der Gastgeber viel Zeit für uns. Er half uns ausführlich bei der Planung unseres nächsten Tages im Nationalpark und stellte sogar individuelle Routen für uns zusammen. Zusätzlich erhielten wir einen Preisnachlass, und als Abschiedsgeschenk bekamen wir einen regionalen Tee, den es nur in dieser Gegend gibt – eine sehr herzliche Geste. Diese außergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft und der großartige Service haben unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht. Wir können dieses Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen!

• SILVIA (10/5): Ubicación inmejorable y se habla inglés - La ubicación es perfecta. A 6 minutos a pie de la entrada este del parque. Y el propietario es sencillamente encantador. Para empezar habla un inglés muy decente y no hemos visto eso aún en los 10 días que llevamos en China. En este lugar es especialmente importante poder comunicarse porque el parque forestal es un galimatías importante y que alguien tan amable sea capaz de orientarte y explicarte cómo organizar tus días de visita al parque para no perderte nada no tiene precio. También se ofreció a gestionarnos la compra de la entrada llamando incluso a las oficinas del parque. En fin, una maravilla. En cuanto al hotel, es sencillo pero no le falta nada. Escogimos camas tipo tatami porque nos apetecía y resultaron muy cómodas. El baño también bien con ducha, gel, champú, zapatillas, cepillo de dientes… Agua sin cargo y recomendaciones muy interesantes para cenar por la zona. Definitivamente lo recomiendo y no dudaré en repetir si vuelvo. Ah, su perro es un magnífico animal, tranquilo y pacífico que da aún más la sensación de hogar Nada. Todo me gustó

The location is amazing, just 5 minutes walking from the East Entrance to the park. The bed is comfortable, the wet room is clean and the shower has good pressure. Wally even let us leave our bags in the room and use the shower again after our last day in the park (of course this was conditional on there being no new guests directly after us). • Sofia (9/5): definitely recommend for solo travelers and friend groups, a very cozy place to enjoy the area from! - Overall, the place is really nice! We liked how close it was to the food street and the park entrance, also pretty close to the bus station. For breakfast we went to next door neighbor for cheap and tasty chinese breakfast to fuel up before mountains, then on the corner there is a good chinese food spot for dinner, and if you go towards the park entrance, the korean place is great too! The owner of the hostel can speak english, he will advise the routes and places for you to visit, according to how many days you have, and he can even get you some local tea, which was delish! The one-bed room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the big window looks pretty nice! The place itself is not new, so it may look a bit old, but i’d say it adds a charm to it. I wouldn’t say it was bad, but since there is a lovely dog on the first floor, the smell is kinda strong, so make sure you love dogs enough to not be bothered by that. Also, since its close to the main food street, even in the evening and night, it can be a bit loud, but still tolerable.

Will need to carry the luggages up to your room. Mr Wally helps to carry though. There is no daily cleaning of room, so need to put disposal rubbish outside the room for collection. Changing of towels per your request. Fee flow of bottle drinks and toilet paper when needed. Washing machine is available for guest to use. The host Mr Wally is very friendly and helpful. He helps to receive our Taobao purchases before our arrival at the hostel. He also assisted us in explaining the places to visit and to book discounted tickets to the National forest park, Grand Canyon and yellow dragon cave. The washing machine is located at the roof top. Need to climb to the top floor and up a ladder to reach the top. Quite a long steep steps to go up and down the ladder.

• Ilona (10/5): Exceptional - the property is very authentic, and atmospheric. it is like you dive into the different world. rooms are big, which is a very big plus, and have a conditioner heater/cooler. at first it is cold, but then it gets warm very fast (remember we are out of season) I think it is paradise here during the summer. as many of the people wrote there is a night market just by the hotel. Wally helps with everything which is a big relief when you don’t know the area, the language etc, it saves a lot of time. don’t expect 5* hotel, expect adventure. and of course being located almost next to the entrance to the park gives a tremendous convenience. thank you Wally!

He offered us a second room for free, took time every evening to show us which parts of the Forest Park to visit and even let us take a shower after checking out and before taking the nighttrain. Thanks for everything! The rooms were a bit cold due to the season but the ac helped a bit to heat it up but I think that's normal in China in winter.

The host is awesome and he helped us plan to visit the national park and explained everything to the detail. Also the best thing about it is that it is right next to the entrance to national park, only 5 minutes walk!! We manage to go very early and we have been first up by cable car and had time enjoy it all before all the crowds came in!! The host also helped us with early taxi booking to go to train station. Also good for dog lovers as they have one lovely dog downstairs 👍

The room felt good and there was a friendly dog :) Overall quite clean, very good location, about a 5 min walk from the East Entrance. The room was really cold, even with the aircon blowing warm air. I chalked that up to me sleeping on the floor, because my room is a tatami room, where the bed is just a mattress on the floor.

Wifi worked fine and the location was close to the streetfood market on Jiuding Road (just across a bridge small stream and on a parallel street). The Wujiao gate for the National Park is a short 10 min walk away (where you'll also find Starbucks and Luckin Coffee if you need it). I would definitely stay here again. I found it slightly tricky to find and the address I was given didn't work with didi (taxi), but that was it
• Sarah (9/5): Highly recommend by Australians, thank you Wally! - Stayed 3 nights, very good location, 5min walk to ticket gate. Wally is very helpful and provides map and route which we followed and helped us a lot getting from each area. Wally provides free laundry and clothes dry very quickly. Food market right out front and restaurant in front of Wally’s is very good and coffee available early hours next door. Highly recommend Wally’s. Room was very big and very clean. If you needed anything Wally was happy to help and provide. Wally speaks English and thank you for having us from Australia. Basic amenities but if you needed anything Wally will happily help and get it for you. Plus, you are there to hike the mountains and beds are comfortable and shower has good pressure and hot!

• Zina (8/5): The convenience and location of wallys made our stay so much easier to go and explore the local sights - Wally’s was ideally placed for the national park and Grand Canyon . Wally was so helpful spending time mapping out how to get the best of the park and use of local transport There was nothing we didn’t like but having a couple of cups in the room to make drinks would make it perfect . That said when we asked wally he did provide them to us🙂

The owner was super helpful in advising what to do each day, and you really need to have this kind of insight in order to make the most of your time there. • Giorgos (9/5): Superb - First and foremost the owner, Wally himself...he was very eager and helpful and friendly. Being able to speak English facilitated the communication. He even suggested a detailed plan for the park according to our needs and time available. The location was great and really close to the entrance. The lobby was beautifully decorated too. The rooms were comfortable but had the basics regarding the commodities inside and room cleaning was not provided during the stay.

• Stef (9/5): Perfect location with helpful host - Perfect location for visiting the national park (5-10 min walk to entrance), and is right in front of a night market. The host speaks good English and helped to plan our visit in the park. We could use the washing machine as well. Room was a bit dusty, but other than that clean and comfortable.

We were given excellent, detailed advice about how best to see the National Park as well as brilliant recommendations for restaurants and local amenities. Amazing place.

He planned our trip in Zhangjiajie accordingl to our schedule (he also checked the weather conditions) and helped us buy tickets at lower price. Location is excellent as it only takes 5 minutes to reach the park entrance. The place is nice and cozy, also not noisy at all.

• Pei (10/5): Wonderful Stay - Incredible host - Wally House is an absolute gem of an accommodation & Wally is a wonderful host with a human touch. We arrived at the place rather late at night, and Wally was waiting for us and helped us with our luggage. He patiently explained to us the routes we can take to explore ZJJ even though it’s so late at night, and let us go back to the room to rest even before we paid for our tickets to ZJJ. Throughout our stay, he has constantly been incredibly helpful, always checking in on us and helping us check the weather and our itinerary to ensure that we will have a superb trip. On the last day, my boyfriend fell sick and Wally helped us with the medication and provided us with all the care even though we have already checked out. I am very grateful for the hospitality and human touch Wally has displayed, it made staying at this homestay such an incredible experience! Besides, the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The beds are soft and blankets are really thick. The location is a plus point as well, there is a night market right under our doorsteps and we got to eat so many yummy food every night. It’s also a stones throw away from the ZJJ East Gate Entrance. There is also a lovely dog 多肉 waiting for us every night by the doorstep! We absolutely loved staying at Wally House & interacting with Wally and his cute dog. I would definitely recommend anyone to book this accommodation for a truly authentic experience of Chinese hospitality thousands of miles away from your actual home.

• Maxime (9/5): Nice place - Nice little hotel managed by Wally. Located 5min from the Eastern park entrance, and 5min from the bus station, so super convenient. The bed was confortable, and the street is quiet. Wally was helpful and always available to answer my questions. I was backpacking and I really appreciated the option to do a laundry and to take a shower after my check-out, at the end of a long hot day in the park! It must be a pretty demanding job since Wally seems to be manning the place 24/7 so hats off to him. For breakfast there's a Chinese breakfast buffet for 15CNY next door, or Starbucks at the park entrance. The room is not in absolute perfect condition (one ceiling light was dead, hair dryer not attached to the wall, a hole in a towel...), so don't go expecting a 4-star hotel. But it's nothing bad in my opinion, for the price and the service I think you get great value here.
• Geoff (10/5): Exceptional - The Manager Makes it So - Wally organized our transfer. Thanks. We arrived late due to late train. Wally was there to greet us and then organize our park (and day visit to Fenghuang) schedule for the next few days. This included booking train tickets. And so the service continued for our entire stay. Great location, 10 minute walk to the park entrance. Super quick responses to Booking messages appreciated. Super large room, really comfy bed, super quiet, great shower and very clean. Free laundry a bonus. Water provided.
