Guest Reviews
- Shane (10/5): - We liked absolutley everything. The room is amazing and everything is thought of, right down to the fun descriptions of the property and what there is to do locally. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is great as is the wine.
Can't wait to come back and stay in the other rooms! It could have been better if we didn't have to leave!
- Cécile (10/5): Happy birthday week-end - The location, the food, the breakfast included, beautiful fourniture, the books everywhere. The whole thing was very romantic. Not enough honny for breakfast. I will really appreciate having jam as well.
- Ralf (10/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): Excellent stay, will be back again. - Loved the room and the location. Being able to sit outside and enjoy the views as well as the ambiance. Just a little bit better information prior on how to check in correctly.
- sandra (10/5): - Didn't have breakfast. Very quiet with great views. Nothing.
- Steve (9/5): Stunning and quite rural retreat. - Rustic, homely, spacious and well equipped. A few too many spiders 😂
- Joanne (9/5): Spacious & luxurious place for a getaway - Spacious & comfortable apartment (2) with full amenities. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in & a luxurious bathroom with a claw foot bath. The ad states “Breakfast included” but we were only provided breakfast for 2 mornings, even though we were staying for 3 nights. Some additional morning provisions would’ve made the stay perfect.
- Sarah (10/5): The perfect relaxing long weekend getaway - We love how clean and well cared for the Apartment is, with beautiful vintage touches and what is likely the world’s most comfortable bed! Having the Coonara and plenty of wood was lovely as it was on the cooler side for out stay. The peace and quiet and views are sublime. Nothing! It’s our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again.
- Martin (10/5): -
- Lmonte (7/5): OK, but did not meet expectations - The highlights: the property and the location. Absolutely stunning view, where you have an amazing opportunity to have your breakfast while admiring a family of kangaroos.
The tips and the information from the hosts was also really friendly, as it definitely helped us navigate the Yarra Valley. The two main problems are the breakfast and the cleanliness.
Starting with the breakfast: the property is not a B&B, but rather a B. I mean, no breakfast is offered, which I found really confusing - and was different from the information provided while booking. Basically the room has a kitchen and there you get 4 eggs (which meant for us half an egg per person, per day), standard white bread from the supermarket (not even sourdough!), musli and milk - that's it. I would suggest that they either start offering breakfast or remote the "breakfast" from "Bed & Breakfast".
Second issue was the cleanliness: the room had unfortunately SEVERAL spider webs, specially behind the drapes, going all the way up to the ceiling. There were also empty suitcases in our room (which apparently belonged to the B&B owners).
- Marshall (9/5): Superb -
- Rion (9/5): Stunning winery accommodation - Stunning location, huge apartment really well equipped. Great attention to detail. Lovely hosts Jan & George. Nothing
- Robert (10/5): A wonderful, luxurious haven in the heart of a family run winery - Wonderful location overlooking the bush and vineyards. Luxurious accommodation in imaginative and sumptuously decorated and furnished rooms making for a truly memorable stay. Jan and George are knowledgable, and very welcoming hosts. Nothing one thing
- Ingo (10/5): A gorgeous apartment in a beautiful location off the beaten track of Yarra valley - It is a unique experience to stay in this beautiful location and perfectly equipped apartment (we booked "Apartment 1" / "King Room with Mountain View". There are only two apartments and a restaurant on the winery. Views are amazing, food in the restaurant is very good and the apartment is so wonderful that you just want to stay. It is perfectly silent at night, kangoroos and parrots were the only visitor in the early morning, see photos taken from our balcony. The kitchen is well equipped, the apartment is very spacious and the furniture and bathroom on highest standard. We liked it very much to be away from the busy Yarra Valley, while just being 25 min away. The valley has its own wineries and attractions. We loved the St. Andrew's market (Saturday morning) and the bakery opposite of it. The restaurant is not always open for dinner, better check in advance. However, St. Andrews is just 6 min away and has a restaurant and a very good bakery/cafe.
- Gregory (9/5): A wonderful relaxing retreat. - The restaurant gave us a great meal, and it was such a wonderful thing to do to walk across the carpark and stumble into bed. The bathroom was beautiful with gorgeous colours, plush towels, good artwork and a claw foot tub. The views from the balcony were gorgeous with mobs of kangaroos on the rolling hills. The outside of the building looks a bit daggy, but don't be fooled.
- Melissa (7/5): Could have been perfect - Comfortably furnished and in a beautiful location. The apartment itself was absolutely ideal. The breakfast was lacklustre with only 1 egg provided per person per day. In addition, the hosts did not cater for my dairy allergy including a request for no milk to be provided in the fridge (there was also a big bowl of butter). After the first night, we sent them a message via booking.com and did not hear back. If they had put a little more effort into the breakfast portion of the B&B this would have been a perfect stay.
p.s. if you are planning to sleep in you should note it is a working property and the cows will wake you up around 7/ 7:30am every morning.
- Deborah (10/5): An exceptional B&B stay in an idyllic location. - The magnificent location, the attention to detail to make it very comfortable and perfectly set up.
The information wallet with the walk to the big dam for a swim and the walk at dusk beside the vineyard to see the city skyline. Absolutely nothing.
- Toni (8/5): Peaceful and relaxing environment - Accommodation & views were perfect pillows were too soft providing no support at all
- Margaret (10/5): Wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the environment. Plenty to do in the area. - Wonderful views, decor in room beautiful, tranquillity, being able to walk round the property. Good email communication with staff but only saw them briefly as we could access our accommodation independently
- Lee (10/5): Cozy and quiet getaway from the city. - I intentionally chose this place for the great valley views. It did not disappoint. In fact, there was a direct view of the sunset from my balcony every evening. Truly breathtaking.
The location is rather secluded, which made it perfect for a quiet getaway from the city.
The place was decorated with a lot of personality, something that you can't really find in another B&B. It was really clean as well. It definitely made me feel right at home almost immediately.
- Donna (7/5): Good -
- Christine (9/5): Superb -
- Meredith (10/5): Shaws winery Airbnb ticked all our boxes for our two night stay. - The fire place, the blinds, the view and the peace and quiet. Trying to contact the owner via booking.com.
- Alexandra (7/5): I had a comfortable stay and it was perfect for my needs. - The property was very comfortable and clean. The decor was very quaint and appropriate for the location. I enjoyed my time there and slept well The property was very difficult to find especially without street lighting.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Suzanne (10/5): Relaxing in beautiful surroundings - Very good breakfast provided
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carole (10/5): A lovely weekend to relax and enjoy the area. - Lovely view, Resturant was excellent and the wine exceptional.
The accommodation was everything we could have asked for, a compfy bed, a great coffee machine, warm and welcoming staff. Nothing at all to not like.
- Cecilia (10/5): Love every moments, will be back! - Private and super comfy, clean room! Nothing! If need to pick, is only accessible by car which is fine with us.
- Karen (10/5): Would definitely recommend this destination for anyone - The serenity and the owners are beautiful people. Loved every minute
- Richard (9/5): Brilliant - exceeded expectations - Location was great, views were excellent. The room was wonderful - eclectic mix of furnishing, books, etc. Bed itself was superb. Breakfast supplies very good. Welcome pack also very good - love having a bottle of wine! Only pity was we didn't have enough time to enjoy all the delights of the room Pillows on bed - all a bit hard - nice if there was a 'softer' option as well
Couldn't seem to locate channel 7 on the TV - so couldn't watch the AFL
Loved the complementary bottle of Pinot - a pity we couldn't 'buy' a second bottle in-house to enjoy. I have stayed at a similar place in the King Valley, where (as well as a complementary bottle on arrival) there was a cupboard containing a range of local bottles that could be purchased on the spot to either drink there or take home, which is a nice option to have
- Madissen (9/5): Exactly what I needed. - Jan and George were lovely and welcoming. Martin was friendly and knowledgeable. The room is homey and relaxing. The views are incredible. Watching Hector and Lola run around during my morning tea made me smile. I will be back. Maybe a few more fresh bits in the fridge for breakfast.
- Donna (10/5): beautiful location where we could relax and enjoy the views. apartments were well appointed with everything we could ne - location, apartments, communication with owners nothing
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrzej (9/5): Top notch relaxing stay - highly recommended - The setting and views are to die for. Excellent location with tranquility. We loved the complimentary bottle of wine from the vineyard as well as the resident doggies. The practicality and decor of the room was really comfortable and well crafted with adequate seating and relaxing places, together with the large patio with views. The bath in the room was a fun experience. Everything was great, as a suggestion some bathsalt or foam liquid would have been a good addition to the fun bath experience.
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - privacy and cleanliness
