• CHRISTINE (7/5): Accommodation was comfortable and daily cleaning appreciated however misunderstanding on booking was unpleasant. - Good location, close to Sandton, BUT host needs to make it very clear that the address is in ATHOL and not ATHOL GARDENS. We found the property very difficult to locate at 9:30pm at night. Strongly suggest host not only sends location pin but contacts guests to let them know they MUST use location pin NOT address provided. We had a mixup with our booking which was for 2 adults and 2 children but the host only had two adults on the booking and we understood there was no room for all of us. The resulting confusion and misunderstanding was unpleasant to say the least.

• Chrystal (10/5): Peaceful and magical - Beautifully renovated cottages behind the main house. Such a pretty garden area to sit in. Tastefully decorated. Comfy beds. Lovely hot water. No electricity cuts. Even coffee, tea, rusks and a nougat. The location is ideal. It’s close to Sandton and yet so quiet and peaceful. Stunning area to go for morning / evening walks. Convenient, safe parking too. It was like visiting your favourite aunt, who had gone the extra mile to make everything simply wonderful for your stay. Loved it. Can’t wait to visit again.

• Niki (5/5): Disappointing with lot of potential. These people should not be in hospitality - The space was set in a nice garden and was private. I tripped multiple times on very badly installed stairs and slightly injured my ankle. The directions were completely off and I found myself in an unsavoury neighbourhood. I had to phone multiple times to get proper directions. They were aware of the problem but failed to communicate this. I also felt that the advertising was misleading as the actual space that I was hosted in looked nothing like the pictures and were not of the same standard as what I thought I had booked.

• Marie (9/5): Overall we had a fantastic stay and I highly recommend this property. - Location is quiet even though it is very close to the heart of the Sandton Business District. It took us only minutes to get to the Sandton Convention Centre. The guest units are set in a lovely garden with an outside seated area and a pond nearby. On arrival, I realised that I had forgotten my contact lens kit at home. Deidre went out of her way to assist me with lens holders and some eye drops to see me through to the next day. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. I can definitely recommend it and will use it again if I have business in the area. It took some time to find a conversion plug for my hairdryer and as far as I could see there was no hairdryer in the unit. I eventually found a plug next to the bed that I could use. There were no clear instructions on what to do with the keys on departure. We were however able to contact Deidre who immediately assisted us, even though it was early in the morning, but clear instructions in the room would have been useful.
• Guy (9/5): Great value, peaceful, neat, with a welcoming and friendly host, in a convenient location. - Deirdre is very friendly and helpful, and accommodated my late arrival. The place is perfect for a single traveler looking for a quiet place to relax, with location close to Sandton. Comfortable bed too. The room isn't intended to be set up this way, but what would have been ideal for me would have been a more stocked kitchen facility for cooking.

• Limpho (10/5): Amazing, I highly recommend the guesthouse. It's extreme value for money and the host is an amazing - The location is very safe. The trees and plants make it a refreshing place to stay at. There's maintenance work done in the yard so it's always clean. My room was super clean, the bedding was freshly washed, the bathroom was well maintained and clean as well. I had 3 lamps that didn't require electricity for when load shedding happens which was a lively touch.

• Annie (9/5): A warm reception in an urban forest - When you travel a lot for work, it's the small touches that makes one guesthouse/hotel stand out from the other. Deidre and Keith as such warm, attentive hosts. Fresh milk instead of long-life milk, lovely rusks and leaving a light out by my front door for when I got back after load shedding - these are the things that will make me return. My room was super comfortable and beautifully decorated. There's a beautiful little patch of garden outside the cottage where I could sit in peace and quiet.

She let me check in early, made sure to make me feel right at home and even provided schedule for load shedding (power outages) via text every day. The property is a gem in a quiet, secluded and safe area, yet close to the Sandton Mall and the Gautrain Station. The beds are firm. The water pressure in the shower is great. The room is clean. I felt like a queen staying here! No A/C. The table in the garden area right outside looked incredibly inviting to do some work, but the mosquitos ate me alive in five minutes.
