• Elisabeth (9/5): - We loved our stay at the Dolphin Inn! The location is perfect, close to the beach but away enough that its quiet. We had the studio apartment and it had a nice balcony with hangers to dry your beach towels etc. The room was spacious and had a kitchen, large fridge. Iris and her son are super nice and have been great hosts. The room is super clean as well! We really enjoyed our time!

• Katy G (8/5): Great stay, great host, great cost! - Great location, down the road from Dover beach, supermarket within a 5 minute walk, each walking distance of the gap for plenty of bars and restaurants. The bus stop is up the street also for easy access to most of the island and more beautiful beaches. It felt very safe walking around the neighborhood. We stayed in a self contained apartment it had everything we needed, perhaps a little bit dated, however I do feel thats the style as it has a cabin feel. The small balcony is lovely to sit at in the morning or evening with plenty of wildlife coming by, lots of hummingbirds, lizards, monkeys, parakeets every day. There is a place to dry your wet towel, swimwear and loungers to use too, although we used it more to sit under the parasol after a long day in the sun as its nice and shady. We loved the tortoises in the front garden:) In the room there is a kitchenette with a fridge freezer, microwave 2 ring hob, kettle and coffee machine, this made it easy for us to take a picnic to the beach most days. The shower is lovely and hot and powerful. The towels were refreshed every 3rd day, toilet rolls replaced and room cleaned. There was air conditioning available at an additional cost per day, however we didn't use it as we were out most of the day and it did go cooler at night. Netflix was available free of charge so it was nice for the nights where we were back early. Also wifi is free of charge and is very good strength. The owner iris was on hand and contactable via WhatsApp and although she lives on site, the apartments feel very private. Iris's son Ron collected us from the airport and showed us the shop, the beach etc before taking us the accommodation, he also took us back to the airport for our flight home for a very reasonable fee. I will also add that on our last day, iris kindly allowed us the room till later than expected so we could shower before heading to the airport, this was great for us to enjoy the holiday until the last hour. There was nothing really to dislike to be honest, but i do like to give a balanced and accurate review. I would say that as there are 4 small apartments/cabins adjoined side by side, you can hear the neighbours talking through the walls. On our first evening, due to jetlag we woke at 2:30am and were talking in the room and the neighbours banged on the wall as obviously they could hear us. (We did apologise the next day) There are metal sliding security gates over patio doors which are loud when opened and if the neighbours or ourselves were up early, the noise of the gates opening/closing is loud. That said, you do feel safe when its locked up. It was mostly very quiet at night, we heard the house next door playing loud music a couple of nights however it was the weekend and it wasn't excessive and didn't go on all night. As the back is lined with trees and foliage, the night insects can be loud I had never heard these before and its like a beeping noise every second, (i think it was a type of cricket) although its definitely a noise you get used to and you hear them all over barbados so this is not a negative about the accommodation but just an observation as it did keep me awake on the first night, however I felt the amount of wildlife visiting throughout the day more than made up for the night visitors (we never had any bugs in our room)

Iris and Ron were very helpful and accommodating! - I liked the location, it was a five minute walk to Dover Beach and St Lawrence Gap with access to lots of bars and restaurants. I properly was fine just a little noise from the highway late at night and the local Cockerels early in the morning!
• Andreas (7/5): Sauberes & geräumiges Appartement, bei einer sehr netten, deutschsprachigen Familie. - Gut gelegenes Gasthaus. Ca. 5 Gehminuten bis zum wunderschönen und malerischen Strand (Dover Beach). Von da ein paar weitere Gehminuten zu den belebten Bars & Restaurants von St. Lawrence Gap. Das von uns gemietete Appartment, war geräumig und sehr sauber. Die Gastgeberfamilie, Iris und ihr Sohn Ron, sind sehr nett, hilfsbereit und entspannt. Mit beiden kann man sich auch auf Deutsch sehr gut unterhalten und erhält ein paar gute Tipps. + Das Studio hat ein großes Bett und ein Zustellbett, so dass es reichlich Platz zum Schlafen gibt. + Das Studio ist absolut sauber und sehr gepflegt. + Die Größe des Studio ist wirklich gut, man hat ausreichend Platz mit 2 Personen. + Regenschirm gratis zur Verwendung + Sehr aufmerksam war, dass vor unserer Ankunft, das Appartment gekühlt war bzw. die Klimaanlage in Betrieb gewesen ist und sogar kaltes Trinkwasser im Kühlschrank zur Verfügung stand. - Leider gibt es keine richtige WC-Tür sondern nur eine Schwingtür. Dadurch ist die Bad-Akkustik in dem Appartment zu hören. - Auch konnte man den Duschkopf nicht verstellen oder in die Hand nehmen, da dieser festverankert ist. - Der Duschkopf könnte erneuert werden, vielleicht reicht es aus diesen zu entkalken. - Die Armatur erfordert Feingefühl. (Das Thema "Duschkopf" habe ich moniert, dennoch ist keine Reparatur oder Ersatz erfolgt) - Die Unterkunft hat eine schöne Terrasse, dennoch trotz Moskitoschutz und Zitronellakerzen wird man zerstochen und die kleinen Biester finden sogar einen Weg ins Apartment. (Diese Erfahrung haben wir so, in einem anderen Gasthaus auf Barbados nicht erlebt.) - Die Außenanlage, direkt vor den Eingangstüren der "Cabanas" könnte ein Upgrade erhalten bzw. man könnte ganz leicht ein wenig Struktur & Ordnung einbringen, es ist halt nicht so schön morgens an einem offenen kleinen "Müllcontainer" vorbeizulaufen oder aber auch Wäsche und anderes als erstes zu sehen, wenn man das Apartment verläßt. - Die Küchenausstattung; könnte durchaus mit ein paar neuen Tellern, Besteck, Töpfe etc. aufgewertet werden. - Leider mußten wir für Strandhandtücher extra zahlen. - Leider, und das ist der negativste Punkt, war direkt von unserer Terrasse eine BAUSTELLE. Die fleißigen Bauarbeiter, waren sogar am Samstag und Sonntag ab 6.00h morgens aktiv. :-(

Il quartiere è bellissimo, nel centro del Gap ma fuori dal caos della movida, a due passi dalla spiaggia...wow Iris, la proprietaria, una persona splendida. Lo consiglio in tutto e per tutto!

Property is spacious and always kept clean, close to local ammenities, beach, restaurants and good transport links. Although it is close to all the tourist places, it is in a nice quiet area. Great value for money and nice, calming atmosphere. Everything was really good, no complaints

Les parties communes sont spacieuses et très propres (régulièrement nettoyées). La cuisine est très bien équipée...il y a vraiment tout pour cuisiner. Je trouve le logement (qui est très calme) très bien situé... on peut aussi bien aller à pieds à la plage de Dover, que prendre un bus (j'y allais aussi à pieds parfois) pour Oistins où on se regale de poissons...ou prendre des bus pour Bridgetown ou Speightstown...beaucoup de bus et qui fonctionnent bien et assez tard. J'ai pu ainsi faire de nombreuses randonnées et découvertes dans des coins variés. La propriétaire est très accueillante et répond aux questions. Je recommande cette adresse . Tres bonnes vacances à la Barbade. Rien

It’s close to public transport and has plenty of restaurants nearby. Iris was absolutely wonderful, meeting us and getting us settled. There is a kitchen and sitting room area too. The property was very clean and it was a great place to rest.

• Ollie (10/5): Fantastic hosts in a great location - Iris was an impeccable host. She was always onsite and able to answer any questions we had. Her son came and met us with a smile at the airport and took us for a little drive around the block to help us get our bearings of the local area. The room was ideal for what we wanted and needed as a base and allowed us to make our own breakfast and lunches as we pleased. The balcony is a nice little bonus, and we even had a family of monkeys come by and say hello. It was a 5-minute walk to the beach and all the amenities and an even shorter walk to the bus stop to Bridgetown or Oistins if you like exploring a bit more of the island. If we were to return to the island, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Nothing!

The hosts, Iris and her son Ron, were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The room had everything we needed, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Barbados. The location was excellent not far from the beach, bars and restaurants, we definitely stay here again. Nothing! There was some construction work going on behind the property which we very rarely heard as we were out at the beach or on day trips through the day.

I especially loved my very spacious room and the relaxing communal areas. There was a lovely relaxed interaction with the other guests. Location is superb - Dover Beach 5 minutes to left and well stocked mini market 5 mins to right. There is an all pervasive calm through the gardens and house. Belonging and freedom. I have travelled widely but can truly say Dolphin is one of a kind. Thank you Iris and Son for the gift of your wonderful hospitality. Nothing

• Lisa (10/5): Perfect Stay In Barbados ! - What a lovely gem that is close in walking distance to a beautiful beach, many restaurants, and all the Barbados action you could ask for! This is a guest house that has all the facilities needed to ensure an amazing stay! The room was spacious, clean, and so comfortable; also with a sizable shared kitchen for full use. There is a warm & welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived through the time I left. I highly recommend their convenient pick up service from the airport as it was seamless & a fair price; just perfect for a late arrival when I wouldn’t have known where I was going. I highly recommend Dover Inn Guest House and Apartments. You will love the nicely manicured yard, flowers, trees, turtles, and wildlife. Also there are monkeys in the area and the owner was kind enough to make sure I caught sight of them. Just an amazing gesture adding to a perfect stay!
• Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Iris is a lovely lady who hails from Switzerland, the No.1 country for hospitality and hotel management so her place is just as clean as any 5 star hotel, if not more so. It was also well protected so no mosquitoes or other insects could get in. The place looks better in real life than in the photos and it's a short walk to the beach & main bus route.
• Vitalik_o (10/5): Great place to enjoy the South coast at one's own pace - Everything exactly as described; photos are a true representation of the apartments. Also, comfortable mattress. Spacious terrace with a table, chairs, and a lounger, as well as a small rack for drying clothes. Iris is an excellent, friendly host. They can also arrange airport pickup without any extra charges. Would stay again. Can recommend the studio apartments for a single traveller or a couple who wish to keep to a budget on a longer visit. (Should be obvious that if one wants AI and/or a hotel with, say, a swimming pool, etc., then one should look elsewhere - plenty of those options around.) The guesthouse itself is located within a couple of minutes walk from the beach (Dover beach and extensions are the nearest). A small supermarket, an ATM, a pharmacy, and some local vendors selling fruits and vegetables are within a relaxed 5 min walk distance. About 2-3 min to the Maxwell main road where all the Oistins - Bridgetown buses stop. St Lawrence Gap with all its bars and restaurants is just next door, too. (The Gap is known as the area to go out.) In general, an excellent location on the South coast. Not the host's fault, but there are ongoing building works next door. Was mildly annoying at times. Hard to say how it'll affect the apartments once the works are completed - will clearly obstruct the view, but shouldn't be too bad.
• Amy (10/5): The Dolphin Inn couldn't be more perfect! home from home with so much soul ! - The moment I walked out of Barbados airport and I saw Iris's sons big smile that welcomed me, I new it was all going to be just perfect . With so much soul and warmth throughout the guesthouse , and the most majestic surrounding natural beauty . vibrant flowers , trees , monkeys , birds lizards , and my favourite. Spotted in the evening ; fireflies. The location was close to everything you could need , just a 5 min picturesque walk to the surreal holiday brochure like beach with white sands , clear waters full of fish and turtles . I can only describe this place as ethereal, I woke up everyday and felt like I was still dreaming . There's everything you need at your fingertips, a coffee shop, supermarket and bars all within 10 minutes from the home stay . My room was so bright and breezy , super clean and the choice between a ceiling fan and a powerful air-con machine both came in handy. I am solo female traveller, therefor there were plenty of things that I had been slightly anxious about before visiting . All of my worries completely disappeared the moment I met Iris and her Son . They went above and beyond with telling me local information and directions and all the advice I could have needed . With great communication throughout the trip and booking process . A real home from home . Being back in England I actually feel home sick for the Dolphin Inn. I would like to say thank you so much for having me and sharing your beautiful home with me . It had a large balcony and we loved having monkeys as an occasional visitor. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Gap where there were numerous bars and restaurants. Iris and Ron are warm and knowledgeable hosts - kind and reliable and happy to answer questions and equally welcoming to people who just want to do their own thing. I travelled alone and felt safe and secure at all times. Iris and Ron arranged my airport pick-up and drop-offs too - and everything ran like clockwork. The authentic charm of my apartment (spotlessly clean, air-conditioned with a huge balcony and everything needed in a holiday home-from-home) felt far more real than a soulless room in a big hotel, where you could be anywhere in the world. I was 100% in Barbados at Dolphin Inn. My huge thanks to Iris and Ron for a wonderful stay - Dolphin Inn is an absolute gem! Loved everything. All expectations exceeded.

• Al (10/5): Excellent hotel with an excellent host - The room was very comfortable and very clean, the lounge area with television was a nice place to relax and watch either live TV or YouTube or Netflix. It has a shared kitchen and you get an allocated space in the large fridge. There are plenty of utensils, crockery and pots and pans to make use of. An excellent host who really went the extra mile in being friendly. I can think of nothing to dislike at all as the Dolphin Inn is just my cup of tea and I enjoyed it a lot.

My accommodation was very clean and comfortable with regular cleaning and linen changes. I can't say enough about the wonderful vacation I had. Located close to the Gap and beach, 3 minute walk. All you want close by. Everyone reading my review will want to book with Iris at the Dolphin Inn and I won't be able to get a reservation. LOL 😆.
