• Olivier (10/5): Very relaxing and beautiful stay! - The location is beautiful, the owners are really nice and welcoming, the bathrooms are clean and modern and the food and drinks are great. The others that were there were respectful as well, since there are only few rooms it’s nice that you don’t get bigger groups that can be noisy. There is no air conditioning or mosquito net so it does get a bit hot night with the fan or you get bit by mosquitos, so perhaps have a net would help with that.

Les chambres sont simples mais parfaitement mais confortables et face à la mer. Petit déjeuner avec jus frais du jour, café ou thé, pain, céréales, œufs, cakes, etc. A recommander pour ceux qui cherchent un endroit plus calme que la ville d'Abraao! Rien. C'était un chouette séjour et les enfants en garderont un super souvenir. Merci.

La Chambre est confortable, le petit déjeuner est excellent avec une magnifique vue sur la mer…je suis triste de partir, je suis littéralement tombé amoureux de cet endroit magique. • Belén (10/5): Lo mejor de Ilha Grande - Un alojamiento excepcional, Naty es una super anfitriona. La habitación es cómoda, un baño moderno, limpio. En la entrada de la habitación hay una galería con mesa, sillas, hamaca para disfrutar de la tranquilidad y naturaleza. Todo el alojamiento tiene espacios comunes muy cuidados, al aire libre, galerías y también en el interior de la posada principal a disposición de los huéspedes. El desayuno es lo mejor, fresco, diverso, completo. El personal es muy amable, todos los dias asean las habitaciones. Hay cocina compartida muy funcional. El alojamiento cuenta con todo para una estadía placentera, Naty está para resolver todas las consultas y pedidos. También nos organizó un paseo qué estuvo espectacular. Hay kayac, snorquel, reposeras, todo sin costo! En fin, es el lugar ideal para relajarte, conectarte con la naturaleza, hacer thrilas, conocer a la gente del lugar. Si vuelvo a Ilha Grande, definitivamente volvería a quedarme en esta posada.

• victoria (10/5): marvelous - Fauna is beautifully landscaped, and the view from the dining area is spectacular. One feels surrounded by nature and yet very cozy and comfortable at the same time. Natalia is an amazing host. She took great care of our every wish. The breakfast buffet is great and the food at the restaurant is delicious. We stayed 5 days and only wish we could have stayed much longer. Hopefully we will find a way to come back again. Fauna is very special.

A Pousada fica em uma praia super tranquila e a gente, ainda, tem a chance de dormir ouvindo o barulho do mar e acordar com o som dos passarinhos. Quem quiser se aventurar no mar, existem snorkels, máscaras, caiaques e pranchas para os hóspedes. O café da manhã é super gostoso e variado. Além disso, podemos jantar na Pousada e aproveitar uma comida gostosa. Enfim, eu e meu marido pretendemos retornar porque a hospitalidade da Natália é inesquecível. Antes de chegar, ela teve o cuidado de passar informações valiosas para eu me deslocar do continente até a Ilha Grande. Os funcionários, também, são super gentis e dispostos nos ajudar. Nada a reclamar. Foi tudo perfeito.

• Rik (9/5): Ideale afsluiter van een zeer gevarieerde en bij momenten wel drukke maand in Zuid Brazilië - De volledige afzondering, weg van de drukte. Dit soort locatie is natuurlijk enkel voor mensen die daar op zoek naar zijn. Het weer, maar daar kon Fauna niets aan doen. Maar toch voldoende om te hebben kunnen genieten van de rust en nauur.

• Emma Gertsen (9/5): Relaxing beautiful poussada - Natalie hosts this very cute and cozy just renovated pousada at a non-touristic side of Ilha Grande. She's very determined to please her guests and suggests useful tips and fun activities. There's a very relaxed atmosphere and there are snorkeling, kayak and SUP options. The breakfast buffet is fantastic! We stayed during a quiet period, and she kept in close contact with nearby restaurants to check their opening hours. There are some nice hikes to nearby beaches. The only point for improvement is the hard beds
• Fabi (10/5): - Natalia und ihr Freund sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie hat uns sehr bei der Planung der Anreise und Abreise geholfen (Achtung: bestenfalls nicht über Abraaõ anreisen). Das Zimmer war sehr schön und gerade frisch renoviert. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und es gab eine große Auswahl. Dazu der Ausblick direkt auf das Meer. Natalia war immer ansprechbar und half uns bei unseren Fragen, gab Tipps zu Wanderungen oder auch Restaurants. Das Bett war für unseren Geschmack zu hart, aber das ist natürlich sehr subjektiv.

Ein Muss für alle die wirklich Natur und die Tierwelt - Natalia ist ein besonderer Mensch, der sich von Sekunde 1 sorgfältig um ihre Gäste kümmert! Sie war über WhatsApp jederzeit erreichbar und hat uns immer die besten Tipps gegeben bzw sich um Tagestouren usw gekümmert! Danke vielmals Natalia!! :) Dieser Teil der Insel ist eher abgelegen, das heißt es fahren maximal 2-3 Boote am Tag dorthin. (Und natürlich die teureren Privattaxis) bei der Planung bedenken! Ein einziges Minus war die Qualität des Bettes bzw der Matratze. Diese war für unsere Verhältnisse zu hart bzw war der Kunststoffmatratzen-Schoner nicht sehr angenehm.

Die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich, die Anlage sehr ruhig im Grünen; das Frühstück ist super und abwechslungsreich; es gibt jeden Tag leckeren Kuchen. We were 5 people for 3 nights during early August. It felt like we were the only people on the whole bay of Bananal. There are plenty of amazing restaurants nearby, hikes in the jungle, boat trips (also for snorkeling) available and suggested by Natalia. I spent one day doing stand up paddling and seeing countless star fish very close to Fauna. The breakfast is a dream. The rooms are great, every detail is very curated and just so beautiful. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and hospitality by Natalia, the wonderful host who truly made my stay special. The highlight of my visit was my birthday celebration. Natalia went above and beyond to make me feel celebrated with delightful surprises and a delicious cake that made my day extra special. Her attention to detail and genuine care for her guests is unmatched. She provided very clear instructions to reach the island from Rio, and was always very reactive when I need further clarifications or advice. She even facilitated my return to Rio, putting me in touch with a very friendly driver who drove me directly to the airport. The hotel itself is a gem, nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Ilha Grande. The rooms are cozy, simple and comfortable, and offer stunning views. The atmosphere is serene and perfect for a relaxing getaway. I can't recommend Fauna enough for anyone looking to experience the calmer side of Ilha Grande with exceptional service. • Tom (9/5): Superb - Fauna is a lovely place for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy the island life. Natalia is very helpful and really puts in an effort to ensure you have a great stay. The breakfast is great, there are paddle boards, finns and masks you can use for snorkeling and the garden / beach is great to relax. Nothing, we had a fabulous stay. Getting to Bananal is a little harder than going to the main village, but you get great help from Natalia.

• Rosanne (10/5): Exceptional - I spend 4 months in Brazil and Fauna was my favourite place. There is some kind of magic in the air here. The garden is filled with beautiful plants, full of hummingbirds and woodpeckers. Natalia makes everyone feel at home. You start your morning eating the best breakfast, while overlooking the stunning bay of Bananal. There are kayaks, snorkelling gear and supboards available, free of charge. You can spend your days here in the sun, swimming and spotting turtles. Sometimes there are dolphins in the bay. Natalia can help you go anywhere you want on the island. Lagoa Azul, Gruta do Acaia, Praia Lopes Mendez, all within reach. If you are looking for a place to stay on Ilha Grande to have the most perfect island getaway, look no futher then Fauna. You will create memories that will last forever. Everything was perfect.
• Isabella (10/5): One of a kind bnb - We absolutely loved our stay at Fauna. It’s a one of a kind place, you can really feel the effort put into all of the details of place. Natalia is the perfect host, very helpful and kind. We loved her caipirinhas in the evening overlooking the sea with a great soundtrack. The rooms are comfortable with a hammock outside and clothes line which was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We borrowed the snorkel equipment , kayak and paddle boards for a day which was amazing! Also I would recommend going to Cambuca for a delicious meal with a great setting. Thank you Natalia!

All of us were eager to wake up to get it :) It’s delicious. But obviously as you can see with the pictures, her place is located in a very nice Area with beautiful surroundings and a lot of nature. Furthermore there are a lot of good restaurants in the village next door. Nothing.

The room is basic bus comfortable (loved small details like mosquito nets in the door so that you have a light breeze and hear the ocean, without being bitten). Only thing to mention is that it’s on the more expensive side compared to other accommodation options.

If you are looking for a romantic quiet and beautiful place away from mass tourism don’t look further. The host Natalia will make you feel at home and treat you like you’re in paradise. And as bonus you will make some new kittie and dog friends that are happily walking around. To get there is a little bit more tricky as there are no cars on the island. You can either take a private taxi boat or a cheaper option is to join a boat tour and ask to be dropped off at Bananal. This option also gives you the chance to explore some other nice beaches but it will take a bit longer and you”ll need to spend some time with tourists that cant spend one minute without making selfies for the IG.

Fauna is an adorable place to stay with so much charm in a stunning location. Natalia cooks a beautiful breakfast every morning that you can enjoy in the common area overlooking the water. Bananal is a sleepy part of the island with a few good restaurants that close early so it's great for switching off and not doing much aside from swimming, hiking and relaxing.

• Naghmeh (10/5): Ideal getaway - Fauna is a beautiful guesthouse located in a quiet beach in Ilha Grande, the view from the restaurant is amazing and overall it is very peacefull. About the host, Natalia is THE BEST host you can ask for. She just made our stay way more pleasent by her kindness and attendance. She also makes very nice Caipirinhas. We highly recommend this place.

The room was nice and cozy. Natalia also arranged boat trip with activities around the island. The Caipirinhas she makes are amazing and the breakfast was also wonderful. Staying at Fauna was the best experience we had in Brasil :) . We explored the island in during the day and in the evening sat in the common area, reading or having dinner with fellow travellers and playing games. Getting to the stay is also quite easy, once you book, Natalia will help you with everything <3 Nothing at all.

The property is really lovely and the breakfast at the beach is amazing. Bananal is really small but Natalia also gave a good tip for a nice restaurant. We really had a good time!

• Emily (10/5): Wonderful - A wonderful place! Natalia is so welcoming and kind, and the setting is idyllic. The room was spotless and really comfortable, with our own little terrace and hammock. So much care and attention was put into our stay and we felt really special! We had our evening meal (delicious lasagna) on the terrace and our breakfast there too. We saw all kinds of birds from the terrace which overlooks the bay. We wished we had booked to stay for longer!
• Pauline (10/5): Amazing! - Natalia is amazing and extremely helpful. She arranged transport for us, as well as activities on the island and gave good advice for activities (diving, hiking, beaches to see,…) and restaurants. Her breakfast is homemade, there is a lot of choice and it is delicious. She also cooks dinner if required (delicious lasagna!). The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The property was very nice and the only comment we have is on the transfers. Bananal beach is 30-45 min boat trip to Abraao. We thought the boat transfers would be cheap but not at all: - Angra dos Reis - Bananal: ~700 reals return trip. - Bananal - Abraao: ~600-700 reals return trip. We did not plan this much money for transfers so our budget took a hit. This was during low season so not many options and many people. This might be cheaper during high season. Also, if you plan to stay at Bananal all the time and not go visit the island, this is not a problem.
