Guest Reviews
- levoni (9/5): Bellissimo super centrale - Posizione perfetta e silenziosa
- Antonio (9/5): -
Personale gentile e disponibile!
- Gary (9/5): Superb -
- Yoko (6/5): Pleasant - No breakfast avaiolable. Perfect location No
- Ali (8/5): Nice, but a little bit expensive - Location
(Very) late check out
Host is nice It’s not a Hotel, it’s more like a bedroom with a private bathroom in an appartment
- Kimberly (8/5): Very good -
- Cyndi (10/5): Exceptional - I was super pleased with my choice to stay here. It was an adventure staying in such a historic, palatial (yet somewhat rough) building and being able to step directly into an exceptionally lively plaza. The building itself looks like the one in the movie Eat, Pray, Love where Julia Roberts rents an apartment. It didn’t bother us that our particular room didn’t have windows. The location is perfect. It is next to the Royal Palace, Galleries Umberto and the Spanish quarters… as well as streets bustling with shopping & restaurants.
Restaurants we loved were Cafeteria Umberto di Ammendola Pasquale (heavenly croissants) and Antica Trattoria da Nanninella Napoli. Although Cafe Gambinus and its food are picturesque, the food was touristy/lower quality.
Other advice~ don’t forget that there is a museum a few floors up. And, if you want to visit the royal library or theater you can’t just show up… read & plan ahead.
- Anonymous (6/5): Fine for a night - Location was good and the room was good spec, fitted with ikea furniture mostly. Clean facilities.
Room itself felt secure with four lockable doors between the room and the street. No window in the room we stayed in (although there were very dim lights when the lights go off so it didn’t feel too dark)
Domus Zapata was not easy to find with no obvious signs as the building is mixed use. You go into the building through the big doors next to the cafe, and speak to the guy in the office on the right who shows you to the room.
The building itself was a bit rundown.
Shared kitchenette (didn’t bother us as we only stayed a night but worth being aware)
- Francisca (8/5): Very good - Location and cleanliness
- Mahathir (8/5): Great location but very quiet at night 10/10 - Location is amazing. Lots of eateries around the hotel Water pressure and better drainage will be better
- Jonna (8/5): Easy one night stay. - Location was good and the place felt cozy after the previous night in hell. The reception was friendly and balcony was nice! Floor was quite dirty and the building was old so there probably was some mold there and you could smell it. Breakfast was just coffee and croissant at the cafe next door.
- John (10/5): A unique one of a kind Holel like no others anywhere in the World. - I loved this amazing unique special extraordinary Hotel that’s is what was a Palace, but totally unrestored. one of a kind Hotel that will not be found anywhere in the World. Only those with adventurous free spirits will appreciate and enjoy this very special Hotel. None
- Katya (7/5): good value for money - location was great.
property contacted us to arrange the arrival.
it was clean and had everything you need for a night of stay. shower could have been bigger (could not move there when taking it).
- Giulia (8/5): Very good -
- Francesca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Petrea (8/5): Very good -
- Daiana (8/5): lovely, would definitely come back - the lacaron was excellent
- Anonymous (7/5): difficult to get in and out, keys do not work well at the gate - location no windows
- James (5/5): great location but basic accommodation - location is excellent. the room was basic compared to others we’ve stayed at for the same price. The breakfast was a disappointment and we had to upgrade to get a decent coffee.
- Mary (8/5): Very good - The location was superb, so central! Very helpful concierge in the building, which is a real old style palazzo! This is shared accommodation - joint kitchen - although the rooms are self-contained. It's not possible to lock interior doors from the outside. A bit of a worry when sharing with strangers.
- Roberta (1/5): This is a poor Airbnb - Not a hotel! - HORRIBLE PLACE TO STAY. DIRTY, OLD AND CHAOTIC! This place is an Airbnb, and it should be listed as an Airbnb on the website. The room is located inside an old building mixed with various businesses and residences. A total mess! The room is old, dirty and mediocre. There is NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED. They provide you with a reusable daily ticket for you to go to a small bakery and beg for one coffee with one piece of bread. Embarrassing to say the least! I hope my review can help others because if I knew then what I know now I would definitely choose a decent place to stay in Naples. Unfortunately, Booking.com didn't show the reality of this place. Pictures are attached.
- Joyce (10/5): Exceptional - I’m an opera lover and it was across the street from the Teatro San Carlo. It also adjoins my favorite shopping street Via Toledo. It was a great walking area . Lots of nearby restaurants.
It was housed in the historical building of the Cardinal Zapata built in the 1500’s
