Guest Reviews
- Suzanne (8/5): Erg goedkoop - De privacy en ruimte die we tot onze beschikking hadden. Vlakbij station. Het had iets schooner gemogen.
- Luis (ルイス) (10/5): - Very down to earth japanese lodging. Comfortable and clean futons. Quiet neighbourhood. Liked everything! But be aware that this location is very residential. Still managed to have a great time drinking with locals.

- Gonzalo Thomas (8/5): Big apartment. Great price. The communication should improve. - Big apartment with facilities and equipment. The communication with the owner was very good. He should send the information the day before of the check in. We spent time and energy trying to communicate with the owner.
- Hanliang (10/5): -
- Daria (8/5): Nice place, but difficult communication - Our stay was definitely worth the price we paid. The place was old-fashioned and smelled of mould a little, but it was surprisingly spacious for Japanese standards. The floor was laid with fresh tatami mats and the futons were really comfy. The air conditioning functioned well and was easy to use, allowing us to heat the place up to our liking. The kitchen was provided with all the utensils needed for making tea and preparing basic meals. We also had a full set of toiletries, clean towels included. You have to climb a steep staircase to get in, so definitely not appropriate for people with walking difficulties. Since the building is rather old, the room was incredibly cold in mid-March, but the air conditioning worked hard to fix that. Unfortunately, the room was a bit dirty - not the floor, but the furniture, which haven't been dusted for some time (which was an issue, because I suffer from a dust allergy). The biggest upset, however, was how awfully difficult it was to communicate with the owner. I've sent them a couple of messages before our arrival inquiring about different things, but I got no response whatsoever. We started to panic when, having arrived at their doorstep, they still have not sent us the passcode for the door. They did after about 10 minutes of our wait, in which time we've already decided we must have fallen victims to a scammer and paid for a different hotel room...

- Yadav (8/5): - Cheap, close enough to the metro, but quite far from the city center. Good options to eat around the guesthouse. Good value for money. No key for the room. Just a code to type from outside.
- Adam (4/5): Felt bad in this accomodation but it was cheap - Great price & self check in No bed sheets
Rain was going through the ceiling it soaked the bathroom
We found a cockroach
Kitchen was really dirty
- SHENGYUAN (8/5): -
- Ayaka (1/5): - 巨大なゴキブリや蜘蛛がでた。
虫が出るのはしょうがないですが
スタッフと途中から全く連絡がとれず
殺虫スプレーを要求しても、対応してくれませんでした。
- marta (6/5): - 4 beds, a small kitchen and spacious areas (the roof pretty low though)
The position was pretty good. There were roaches and a snail near the bed, probably from outside, it’s not the host fault but we had to take them out, it was a bit disgusting 😢
In general not so clean
- Oliver (8/5): - Very comfortable apartment with kitchen, shower and everything you need, the futons were a lot comfortable than expected. Not far by subway from the city center and still great value. Quite old which makes for an authentic experience but some mold starting to form in the hallway, which should be removed.
- Nymphe-Lia (8/5): Très bien - Authentique
- Neir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (7/5): Good for the price, set expectations accordingly - Small and quiet. Small walk to the nearby station and combini. Did not see the offered bike from the description. There was constant mold near the kitchen sink. There were ants when we first arrived but our presence scared them away after the first night. There was also a large roach that we killed, though it may have flown in from the open window.
- Sebastian (8/5): Very good -
- Malimban (9/5): Superb - Location is 4 stations away from Namba but, this is a home stay with a nice location, near the Kitakagaya train station, near konbini stores and supermarkets, and laundry shop.
The ambiance of the guest house was really nice and cozy. There is nothing else to really change about the physical condition of the house, but I suggest that you add an air freshener to minimize the smell of the wood.
The house is really spacious, good for families and friends.
We will definitely book again, thank you.☺️
- Varghese (8/5): Very good -
- Chisholm (8/5): It was awesome, I was comfortable, had enough space to walk around, everything was very clean. - I liked the house overall, I had never stayed in what seemed to be a traditional Japanese home. The layout was new for me but I enjoyed sleeping and just being in the space! The only thing is that there was a smell. It was nobody's fault, it just smelled like an aged building. Like when wood gets to be a certain age the smell mixed with the smell of the foundation was an adjustment.
- Hussam (6/5): Cheap value - Cheap
Good WiFi Not clean
Bad furniture
- Pascale (10/5): Exceptional -
- Naya (6/5): Very bad smell from the room, unresponsive owner, stairs like ladder. - The room was authentic japanese style. The owner doesn't respond at all. The room has a very bad smell, which is the biggest issue. It was so strong that you could vomit. And there is no way to get rid of this. The stairs are like a ladder. You can't even place your entire feet there properly. If you have luggage then do not book this place. It looks like a Japanese home and that is the only good thing there.
- Cloud (5/5): It’s one of the best places to stay for the price. It offers a private shower and toilet. - The room is spacious, likely designed as a family room, but I’m here alone. It features a king bed and a two-story bunk, which feels like overkill for just one person. Still, it’s a nice space. If you’re traveling with a group and just need a place to sleep at night, this is a great option—it comfortably accommodates four people. Plus, you could even sleep on the floor, which is clean and covered with a Japanese tatami mat. The shower area is quite narrow.
The toilet is also on the small side.
It's not far from the station, but the street is dark, and the entrance is covered by trees.
The lock can be a bit tricky to open.
The beds are very soft, which made it difficult to sleep well on the first night.
I didn’t use the kitchen, so I can’t comment on that.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- David (7/5): Good value for money hard to beat it price wise; stay somewhere else if you want good comfort though - Old Japanese style room. Vending machine right outside of the room. Beds were thin, hard to sleep on
- Allyson (1/5): We didn’t stay here due to the reasons I’ve mentioned above. The property should be given an improvement order and remov - There is nothing good about the property. I can’t even say it was value for money. The front door lock doesn’t work which is a security issue. The staff know this and will send someone to help you get in, when really they should fix the lock.
The toilet room is so small that it is placed diagonally within the room so it can fit, this means it’s almost impossible for someone over 5ft to use the toilet and close the door.
There were stains on the mats and walls, and the decor in general is old and worn.
- Subham (5/5): Passable - Location is fine, a short walk from Kita Kagaya metro station. Traditional Japanese apartment with clean shower and toilet. Kitchen is there and all basic amenities. Nothing wrong with the room. Had the owner been more responsible, this place would have been great. The owner's attitude - he confirmed that he would be there at 4 pm upon our arrival. But he was not present. We were stranded in the rain and had to seek help from locals. Locals went to his place by bicycle and brought him to the apartment to check us in at 6 pm. It was 2 hours waste for us along with a lot of frustration. Furthermore the owner was not even sorry. I feel that this apartment is very nice but it just needs better care from the owner or the manager.
- Nandin-erdene (6/5): Pleasant - It was cheap anyway. It was also nice to be able to stay without having to come in contact with the staff. dirty! It's really dirty!and thin walls and floors.
- Yoga (1/5): Bad -
- Allyjah (7/5): Good -
- Samantha (10/5): Cute nice cozy place - Nice and warm quiet neighbourhood If you can’t climb stairs don’t book but this is still an amazing place
- Matthias (7/5): Good -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional - Convinient to station Front door lock getting stuck
- Nithiya (8/5): We enjoyed our stay here - The room was fully equipped and the kitchen area was useful. There are convenience stores and a metro station a quick walk away. The neighborhood is quiet and it was nice to stay somewhere local rather than a touristy place. The Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine is also within walking distance (~20 minutes). We were very satisfied overall.
- Linus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mahajan (6/5): Pleasant - Everything was pleasant not the best
- Sunshine (8/5): We love our stay here. We able to feel and live like a local during our stay because it is residential. - I like everything in this property, we able to feel and live like a local during our stay here because it is really what look like it is, a Japanese house!
Also, it is a few minutes walk to train station, The heater is not that effective.
